Kirsteen Bostock: Apple store Sydney allowed a criminal to purchase $7500 worth of items, 1 x Macbook, and 2 x Iphone 13's including apple care using my credit card number that the criminal had uploaded to his apple wallet. The apple staff member processed the transactions separately for approx $2500 each to bypass the need for my personal pin number. Apple store Sydney have refused to talk to me about the fraud committed on my credit card in there store despite me attempting many times to talk to them about the purchases. Apple customer care have also not followed this up or returned my request for help! Instead Apple has sent the receipts for the purchases to my bank in a man's name who also used moneylover as part of his email address suggesting that the transactions were legitimate leaving me to pay for the items they gave to a man named Byron. 2 Brisbane Apple stores have tried to help me with this but they also have not been able to get the Sydney store to help me resolve this fraud committed on my credit card account. I live in Brisbane and had not been to Sydney but yet I am left to foot the bill for Apple products I didn't purchase using Apple Wallet on an Iphone so my recommendation is to STAY AWAY FROM APPLE PRODUCTS!. Bad service Apple and Bad products if Apple Wallet can be used in this way I say shop elsewhere!!!

Erica Beattie: My iPhone charging cable wasn’t working so I took it to this store to get replaced. The first person I asked told me I had to make an appointment, but the wait time was only 10 minutes. It ended up being longer than 10 minutes because the customer service on level 2 was busy, however it was run really well. The staff seemed to have a great system going on to make it as efficient as possible. The lady who did help me out quickly tested her cable with my adapter and phone, determined that my cable was faulty and brought me a new one, no questions asked. I will definitely come back to this store if I have any future problems with my Apple devices. Fingers crossed my new cable doesn’t start playing up too 🤞🏼
Delivery People Journal: I worked in Apple before,this is not the Apple Store I know 5 years ago, not mention Steve Jobs era.Inpatient staffs lack of knowledge, but that's OK, we been trained that you can explore the answer with customers, but not much here.The floor manager makes me feel so deliberately dominant and no eye contact just busy on tablet, you can just give me a kindly guide to others which is 2 seconds communication even you are that busy.And come on, most staffs are way more shy than 5 years ago.Apple Store is built for the brand value, not just selling products, I can get everything in JB or any retailers. There is no Apple spirit in the store, just another outlet.As a former staff, feel shame and sorry for Steve,We fail you!

Guy Redden: We had a genius bar appointment for a macbook not charging. It was just a cable that needed replacing. Most stores would give you a new one there and then, but policy apparently is to order warranty replacements so you have to make a separate trip back despite this being a stocked item. I forgot to bring the faulty cable back the second time. Although they had the record of the inspected faulty cable, despite pleading and asking the manager they wouldn't hand me the replacement. So 3 trips for a measly cable. They value their business processes over customers.
Marc: Horrible experience.Had a failed phone repair, and when asked to have it credited or replaced, I was told a repair was the only thing they could do for me going forward.If there was a guarantee the repair would fix the phone for good the second time, I would be happy to accept it, but there was no guarantee and I could very well be back here a third time.I was told that it’s either a repair, or they could give me notes to pursue it with the ACCC and keep the faulty phone.Absolutely disgusting. George Lalas, the manager, was blatantly rude and cared more about protecting his job, Apple and its revenue, rather than the customer(s) who got Apple to TRILLION dollar status.Take your business somewhere else. You’re a number and always will be.This money juggernaut doesn’t care about the consumer at all.So long as you give them the $2,000, then they’re happy.

Looked around at different products as I have been interested in making a future purchase of several of the products and was interested in seeing the differences in quality of the models as this is a very costly decision. Staff did not offer to help me at any point, but leapt to help people around me. I felt very uncomfortable walking up to staff as they were all talking to each other and made no effort to ask me questions. Came in on Wednesday a bit over an hour after lunch- very quiet, an abundance of staff just stood around and ignored me. I walked over to a model and they made a big show of picking up money and walking away as if I care to try to steal $50.00 cash. That was the icing on the cake. I can only hope that they don’t treat all customers with the disrespect they showed me. I am a customer that walked in interested in purchasing several products and am very unsatisfied with the lack of customer service.

U H: Staff are friendly and really approachable, when they aren’t busy naturally. Bear in mind that the store does get very busy, but with a larger variety of stores in the shopping centre, you can finish a lot of errands at once.

When I got to the store they said they couldn’t process a sale without an appointment because they were busy. I understand if it’s busy, but since when is it so difficult to scan and accept a payment? Isn’t that the point of a shop? I walked out without a phone and will probably seek Apple services elsewhere.

Dom: Got served by ‘Ryan’ today who was without a doubt the most arrogant, disinterested & all round unpleasant retail staffer I’ve ever had to deal with. Barely looked up from his laptop during interaction, but got through the relevant checks and then told me they’d replace the headphones, I said thanks, a few seconds later he told me that they couldn’tSwap the item over and he had to send it away with no explanation. Extremely annoying. If you don’t like dealing with people, I recommend you consider alternative employment.
Kevin C: A very frustrating morning with an older female staff who tried to have her Apple Power over me! They made a mistake with my trade in deal and would not try to help customer fix the problem. She gave me a nasty look and pushing me out words at me rather than trying to fix their mistakes. I then had to see her supervisor and got it sorted. The staff in the store only tried to protect each other rather than listening to my explanations. Apple might think it is too big and no need to provide decent customer care? I have heard so many bad words about Apple’s customer service.

I took it to the apple bondi bar, the girl served me couldn’t sort it out fir me instead she asked me lots information including the serial number etc. she made me feel like she couldn’t solve the issue because I couldn’t provide her enough information. She then told me nothing she could do. I felt her capability and service were not efficient professional, she just wanted to walk away. I then took my iPad to the City Genius Bar on George street , the boy sorted out fir me easily no pressure on me.he also helped me to set up new pass word. Now we can use my iPad again. I think anybody who manage the Bondi apple Genius Bar need to make sure the staff work seriously effectively fir apple teputation.

Romina Rengel: Yesterday I had an appointment at Apple because my phone battery wasn't lasting at all. I had the bad luck of being assisted by a girl who didn't know anything. My battery had 92% of life and my phone wasn't even a year old. She kept telling me it was my fault because I used the phone too much. I told her it wasn't normal for the battery to drain completely in 5 hours. She insisted it was my fault for using Instagram and suggested I buy a power bank.I naturally asked to speak to the manager, who was very kind and addressed my situation. She suggested it could be a software issue, reset my phone, and today I have been using it all day for 16 hours without having to charge it. The first employee who assisted me was very arrogant and didn't help at all. She made me feel frustrated. Apple should train their employees on customer service.

Keith Jenkin: Very busy place.Booked a time to have my non charging iPad looked at.Very experienced staff tried various tests on the ipad without success.Quoted $1400 for repair.(Interesting as a battery is only $200).As it was out of 12 month warranty, was sent back to retailer for repair under Australian consumer extra 12 month warranty, as per receipt.

I asked them for my screen protector and they said we don’t have it. you have to buy somewhere. It was bad experience the guy name ‘Adel’ 👎

Initially the staff said that I can just get a replacement on instead of fixing but then he said the systems thinks that I might be scammer so refused to process it on the spot. Instead I was requested to send the phone for five days “to fix” or I can ask for express apple care, provide my credit card details through the phone and pay. Seriously, I can give all the receipt and proof that they want but they did not choose to do that. Instead accusing me as a scammer who try to get apple care. It was paid? and the staff asked whether I was in US before and how long I stayed , I felt that it was an invasion of privacy and I don’t understand the purpose of such question. I don’t know whether it’s the staffs incompetency or the system flaw; but this is unacceptable.

karen chen: My apple iphone has been hacked twice and I really see holes in all the process and I urge you to improve it.1. When I change password in my iphone either the Apple ID password or the email password, letters appear for a while before disappearing which will allow enough time for hackers to steal our password and is against standards for all other systems e.g. bank password, hotmail and gmail paasword.2. When I left my iphone for repair, I am not advised of the person who hold my iphone and even not given a receipt.3.When I returned to pick it up, I was asked to show my photo ID which is a serious breach of privacy. Info from my photo ids would allow any hackers to break my personal systems.4. Very simple repair of glass panel required the interruption of 4 Staff today whcih is totally inefficient and waste of my own time. Prior to that I have visited Apple stores 3 times for such a simple thing.5. The most inefficient, insecure systems and most non transparent store I ever encountered.6. I will not recommend anyone to use iphone or go to your shop again.7. My email is now interrupted by more scam emails just from today.

Mo Chah: Absolutely ridiculous. Absolute Worst way to deal with customers, worst way to repair items. Worst policy structure ever.They CANT BE BOTHERED fixing anything. I have owned every iPhone to come out and all my products are apple. But honestly Samsung is definitely the better brand. In their software, hardware, reliability, and customer serviceI bought a phone directly from apple not even a year ago, and I had camera issues which I called for and they tried to help over the phone to which there was no solution. A few weeks later the actual lens broke, and then I went in to get it repaired happy to pay to fix both things and they said I’d have to pay $1100 or so. Or give them my phone and pay $800 for a new one, which is stupid because it’s just a small lens, so I got the lens replaced elsewhere on its own by an Apple Authorised repairer which took no amount of time as it was a small simple fix, on the other hand apple wanted $850 because they’re INCOMPETENT to change just a lens they require to replace the whole rear part of the phone, and then I went back and requested to just get the camera replaced for $309 as quoted originally but they refused to do so. Saying they won’t touch the phone anymore even though I’m requesting a repair for a faulty part and I’m happy to pay and they refused. kiz: I got scammed while buying an iPhone off of Facebook marketplace which had an ingenuine screen and the front camera was broken so I’d been into the store a few times for advice and making an appointment. Everyone was so lovely and helpful. When I went in for my appointment to get it fixed, I was told I was going to have to pay the same amount I’d already spent on the phone and was devastated as I could have bought a brand new one for less money. The staff member who helped me, Georgia, went and spoke to the manager and came back and told me they felt bad for me so they weren’t going to charge me for the camera replacement (still paying for the screen) and I was so grateful. I don’t make a lot of money so this was a massive help. The phone works perfectly now! So a big thank you to Georgia, the manager, the other staff who I spoke with, and the nice man who came and spoke with me while I was waiting.

James Mullen: Worst customer service ever. Had a product that failed within under 6 months and wasted an hour of my life just trying to get a replacement - which is a legal right. So many hoops to jump through which seemed to be trying to make it harder. They had stock of the item on the shelves but initially asked for me to come back in 2-3 days to collect - when I asked for a refund she did give me a new unit of the shelf. Overall the final person I spoke with was the best (if I had spoken with her first it would have been a higher score) but the first two made me want to switch brands

Courtney Stark: By far one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. I go back to using Apple devices after using Samsung for 10 years. Due to Telstra having activated the device, Apple refused to assist me in anyway despite the device being manufactured by Apple. I was belittled, gaslit and reduced to tears by the store manager and then hand balled off Telstra to send it off for repair despite Apple having a legal obligation under Australian Consumer Law to provide on the spot replacement of the device. Instead of leaving with a new watch that I was legally entitled to on the spot, I was left with tissues and a leaflet from the ACCC. In addition, the manager had additional sales assistants around him to back him up as a means of intimidation.Never in my life has a retailer or manufacturer made me feel as low about myself physically and mentally as I have this evening and it’s over a faulty device.

Pankaj Sawjani: I had a terrible experience today. I have been a loyal Apple iPhone user for a long time and am normally highly satisfied with the service at this store. However today I had a terrible experience. I went in with a recurring problem with my 2 month old IPhone 14 pro. The side button did not work intermittently. After a long time with a tech named Marina, they suggested they will replace my phone with a new one. When I asked them if I could keep the old phone for a few days and transfer the data at home they declined. I asked for the manager who recommended that my best option was to call Apple Support and they will send me a replacement phone and give me a few days to return the old phone. After a long frustrating call with apple support I was told I had to pay for a new phone and will be refunded once the old phone was sent back. Furthermore they sent me an email to say that they will charge me if they find that the old phone was repairable!!! All this was never explained to me by the store manager. He seemed very happy to kick the can down the road!! I have spent a good part of 3 hours so far and will need to spend another 3 hours transferring the data to the new phone! Not at all impressed and hope someone from Apple will take ownership here so that this does not happen to anyone else

mj mj: Came to get my phone screen repaired. The whole queue process is time wasting, get told to come back in 20 mins but get a text 2 mins later. Then get upsold more things through the diagnostics, yeah not my problem the batteries have planned obsolescence...Then whoever repaired my screen didn't even bother charging it up to test it. Get asked for my ID twice - at the door and then 5 mins later picking up the phone but get a cocky excuse when I ask why (literally: dont worry this will be the last time today...), surely your super genius optimised queuing process has a Tick Box for ID verified? Then the next time I come to drop off and pick up the phone, no request for my passcode, no request for ID... And from the way Im spoken to I should feel so privileged that I dont get charged another $330 to replace the screen again for the incompetently repaired phone.I feel everyone in the store has an odd attitude, maybe it's the training or the type of people they hire, or a Sydney hospitality thing. Fake, borderline arrogant, enthusiasm. I just dont like stepping in here but usually forced to due to some faults. And your $80 leather cases dont last and peel off after some use like a piece of junk.

Fan Yi (易凡): The genius bar staff is lack of knowledge and professionalism.My iPad pro bought 1 year ago stop charging suddenly, I booked a genius bar appointment and took my iPad there, after the iPad got inspected by a so called GENIUS, he drew a hasty conclusion that my iPad got water damage which led to the charging port not functioning, he also told me according to the Apple T&C, the water damage is not covered by the warranty, and the replacement cost is $920. I reiterated the iPad was being used with dedicated care and never touch with water, if the charging port stop working during normal usage, it definitely has a quality issue. Then this GENIUS found another senior GENIUS to back up his opinion, who is unprofessional and impolite, which made me feel they are thinking I was lying about the water damage and wanted to take advantage from Apple. So I left without accepting their generous offer of $920.After I got home, I did my research on Youtube and decided to use a small tooth brush to clean the charging port, guess what, the lovely charging bolt showed up again! It is simply just because of the dust on the port led to the poor contact of the charging points.I am a long time Apple fan but not anymore since this time. Super disappointed about Apple GENIUSES' expertise and poor attitude towards their customer. It could be a simple fix but they offered a nearly brand new one price for replacement, what a ripoff!You have a good day GENIUSES!

I came in asking about data recovery as I accidentally deleted the contents of my phone and the guy at the door had absolutely zero sympathy and just shrugged his shoulders and had such an attitude. I didn’t come in trying to blame them, I had admitted that I made a mistake and just simply needed help. He just kept shrugging his shoulders and rolling his eyes. Honestly so disappointing as I am in distraught, not very good with technology and just needed guidance. Kris Vipavetz: My wife brought her 2014 MacBook Pro over from the states and several weeks ago, experienced a BSOB. Mac City put me on to a data retrieval specialist that rebuilt the SSD and extracted and retrieved ALL the data! My wife wanted to keep using her MacBook Pro so Mac City replaced the SSD and repaired the water-damaged logic board and other bits to restore the device to a like-new condition. They did this during a hard lockdown and bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. Mac City will have a customer for life!

Akram Entezari: I went to this branch to buy a watch, but one of the staff stopped me at the entrance and asked what I was there for. I was told we were fully booked now and to come back in 30 minutes. There were a few people inside, from what I could see. Then I walked out and didn't return. I don't understand why some branches treat customers this way. Their strategy seems to be to play hard to get customers. It is disrespectful to customers and not cool.
Qiping: My account was disabled for NO REASON and my balance inside my account is $100. Talking to apple customer service is like talking to some polite bots, which solving 0% of your problem but being able to memorise the content that they should speak and did not address your problem at all. Hiring a bot would be more money efficient for what Apple what to achieve.I will never buy their product again.

My child racked up $3700 of game purchases and after two refund requests denied, a chat conversation and wasting 60 mins talking to a useless Apple person, I am still out $3700 and they will not take any responsibility for their flawed system (likely since it makes them money).My lesson here is that Apple preys on children for financial gain!! GetUsThereAlready: Didn’t receive my express order that I waited at home for this morning. When I called up apple to check on my order, I was incorrectly informed that I had cancelled my order! I was asked to check for a cancellation email that didn’t exist. I checked my credit card statement which still had $514 pending from the order. I was instructed to order the product again and assured that they have the item in stock. I went online to reorder and discovered what the issue probably was: there was no $15 express delivery option today. I’d prefer that apple was honest with their customers. I would have totally understood if they had said unfortunately we don’t have enough delivery drivers & refunded the $15 express delivery fee instead of cancelling my order, wasting my time and lying to me (pretending that I cancelled the order). Lift your game apple! 👎🏼
Eliza Farbenblum: The worst online customer service ever. Excuses were made multiple times for not being able to allow payments to go through if a card declines and you need to transfer funds and pay again. Frustrating and unhelpful staff. They just pass off the issues and tell you that you are rude after you have told them what the problem is. They behave incompetently and waste your time by handing you over to other staff who cannot not also allow the payment information to update on their end and do not resolve the issue. Instead of fixing the problem, they ask the customer to get a new bank card! I wouldn’t get any apple product if I would have known how bad the customer service was.
Sue M: The following review is my own personal opinion at the time of writing this review and based on my own personal experiences.Despite having apple reset my devices (mobile phone, Apple Macs and iPads) I have been continually hacked over the last few years, this is despite of having my devices locked down by apple and being on the latest software at the time of being hacked. The Apple store I was dealing with even got me to go back to an old Mac Air from 2014 so that the wifi and blue tooth could be removed from the apple air. I have consistently used long random passwords changed regularly and have had the devices locked down including removing the remote management from all users to no users (apple has the all users set in their settings by default).Apple has confirmed that there is no equipment issue / no virus on these machines yet they are still getting controlled remotely - it is almost like you are working on a dummy terminal. Terminal services is being activated in the background.The amount of time spent going back into Apple to have the devices is frustrating. Even yesterday when in the apple store at the Genius Bar having the Apple Air (no wifi or Bluetooth in the device) being installed with a clean install, appeared to be hacked through Apple’s own network (via Ethernet cable) - even the Genius Consultant saw it occurring. She then had to install the laptop by USB and away from Apple’s own network.I have devices that appeared to be hacked professionally without any network connection and the circumstances are the same - it appears that a person needs to be close to you to hack - within 300m, they appear to have a device that allows them access and it appears to glitch the screen at the time of being hacked. There appears to be a back door way into the device that bypasses passwords, even if there is only one admin user on the device. In my case I can clear prove that my devices were being hacked whilst they were locked down, for example my voicemail coming Russia rather than my phone - laptop starting with different languages and different icon positions and different background images. Devices randomly turning on and activating the camera and microphone, files being deleted etc. I have no social media, no apps on the devices, no sharing etc. I have even tried to have the initial device set up with 1 admin and then a standard user (locked down) to work on patent documents using Apple’s own notes program rather than word, no emails on the device or messaging on the device, nothing other than the factory installed programs by apple, including no importing of data and setting up of new apple ids - even tested without using the appleid - still appeared to be hacked. Bought new hard drives to connect and then had nothing connecting - still appeared to be hacked Also tested changing over the Mac address in case the hackers were using the MAC address to work out which was my device.My phone number has been changed and changes every month to a different provider and different account and different number - the number is not given out to anyone - (as I have a second phone for phone calls) yet I believe I have still been hacked. I do not connect to Bluetooth or wifi.Apple have advertising gives me the impression that apple devices are private and secure, yet my own personal experience has lead me to believe that this advertising is deceptive and misleading by Apple. I am writing a review out of simple frustration that the devices appear to have security issues ie possible failure of Q&A on the software. If I was reviewing the service by my local apple store then I would give 5 stars as the genius consultants have given amazing service despite the software issues. We have purchased new iPhones, new iPad Pro and yet I have appeared to be hacked within 1 month max (the new pro) the new iPhone only lasted 1 hour before being hacked. I am of the personal opinion that Apple need to stop doing new features and concentrate on securing their devices properly.

They pretend being specialist but their customer service is a failure.I really don’t recommend you to go there I really regret and if I knew what would have happen I would have went to fix my Apple Watch at an Apple Store.To me their service was faulty my Apple Watch died because of them. I explain myself. I broke my screen Apple Watch about a month and a half ago. I have paid 250 to fix it, which is not a low amount. After a week, I went to pick up my watch, paid for the service and after a swim, because my Apple Watch is waterproof, it shut down. I went to the store few days later. The staff told me that my Apple Watch is water damage and it is due because after they fix it, the Watch is not waterproof. They omit to warn me about this, I wasn’t aware and I was not supposed to be aware about their fixation process and outcome, that is why I went to their service. They didn’t apologies or neither tried to compensate for their lack of information. I have paid this service for nothing and now my watch cannot be used anymore and have to buy a new one. I went to pick up my watch very disappointed and frustrated, i don’t’ think their way of doing was fair and that this situation could have been avoided. According to the ACCC they failed to meet consumer guarantee. And my due and care rights haven’t been respected. I am very aware about what I need to do to voice my rights, after reporting my case to the ACCC I am going to report this case to the Fair Trade.

Nichola Longhurst: Do not go here! Definitely do not recommend. I took my phone to have the screen replaced and they returned it with a broken microphone. They said it was a complete coincidence, they would replace microphone if I paid and my battery needed replacing too. I said I would come back a few days later when I had time to replace the microphone for free only as it was too coincidental. The following day the screen went completely black. Attempted to contact them and they weren't open or responding so I had the screen replaced elsewhere. The other repair shop said it was an extremely poor quality screen which hadn't been put on properly and that the battery was fine and did not need replacing. Went back in to get a refund and they refused a refund, despite admitting to the faulty screen being provided. Very dishonest business.
