Layla Makoney: Came here for a friend's hens night, would only recommend if you're actually willing to participate as all guests get involved (especially if you're nominated for one of their 'specials'). Canapés were good but mains were not, basically mash.
Amelia Hutchins: Hosted my soon to be Brother-in-law's stag night here and Oh Em Gee were they amazing! The entertainment was fantastic, tasteful and fun! There were heaps of options for extra fun! And the best part was how inclusive they were! Our boy was given just as much attention as the brides in the room that is exactly what he deserved! Thank you! I will note that although there was an error with our food, the staff were super quick to rectify the problem and I was so grateful! Thank you again!

Upon arrival, the staff greets you with warm welcomes, drinks, and hugs. They are all very friendly, especially the manager named Jade, who went out of her way to ensure we had an excellent experience. Penny Christie: The Mediterranean Sydney is your old style retro function room. It’s not very accessible due to the steep stairway from the street. I attended a Mamma Mia/ABBA themed event which was a lot of fun. We had to follow strict COVID-19 regulations with social distancing and no dancing rules which is totally understandable these days. We were offered a Greek mezze style dinner with lots of food brought to the table but it was all prepackaged frozen food that wasn’t great.

Ross Hanrahan: Never experienced anything like it to be honest, came here for a Christmas work party and it’s one of the worst places I’ve been to. To turn up sober and get told to wait 30 minutes outside because I look “tired”. Not really sure what that means, so I wait outside for 30 minutes then I’m allowed in. Still trying to figure out how that 30 minutes helped anyone apart from making me feel stupid. I then spend 2-3 hours in the pool bar area with the work crew and get randomly grabbed and told to leave. Maybe it was the tattoos, not entirely sure. We reached the elevator and the head of security was there and I questioned him on the reasons. He told me they didn’t have any and I was “allowed” to go back in (I left at that point). Having lived previously in Dubai I can see it’s trying to be that “cool” place to hang out. Unfortunately they’ve failed heavily on the customer service front. It seems to be run by a bunch of amped up bullies to be honest, filled with people who think too highly of themselves. Go somewhere else is my recommendation.
Jake Hardy: This place gets super busy. But the staff and security are extremely aggressive for no reason. Very stuck up pretentious vibes. Overpriced drinks. And the music isn't even that great. No idea why there is so much hype about this place.

But we were met with a disappointing experience.The place was very crowded (which we were expecting for NYE), but the event was very poorly planned. Given that everyone had bought tickets, they should know how many can fit and have seating arrangements accordingly. But, we did not get a single place to sit the entire night.They had empty booths but they were not allowing anyone to sit there as the minimum spend to sit there was $2500, I was told. As a result, nobody was using those poolside booths and they were clearly not booked. So, they just went to waste. I am very confused by this. Why overbook a party and then close off seating areas that are free and unbooked? After a couple of hours, my feet hurt and I did not order any food as I refused to eat while standing. I don't expect this type of experience from upscale places.The music wasn't great as well. The DJ played many of his own upcoming songs - a little bit of promotion is okay but on NYE I want to dance to popular songs I can sing along and enjoy. Only after 12 the music improved and was setting the mood. But because we did not get a chance to sit and enjoy food/chats, we got hungry and left.All in all, it seemed like a money grab event to me with little care on guests' comfort. Also, forget social distancing/covid measures - they clearly overbooked and also closed off seating so people were forced to share the sparing seating available.

Ric Mauger: Thank you to all the Magic Men for one of the best nights I have ever had on Saturday night. The show itself was absolutely incredible, it goes without saying that the guys are all super attractive, but the dance moves and acrobatics they can perform were also very impressive. The choreography, the skill and the variety and diversity of numbers and performers had my jaw dropped more than once.I also found the guys very genuinely friendly, a number of the waiters & dancers took the time to introduce themselves and have a chat with me, which, as a guy on his own, I was grateful for. My private show with Tyreese was a dream come true, he is so good at what he does and I felt very much taken care of. On top of that, to be able to come up on stage was a very pleasant surprise, and to be able to be lifted up by the handsome and sweaty Sean is a moment I will not soon forget.My thanks and compliments to all of the boys, especially Tyreese and Sean, and to Raymond the waiter. Undoubtedly I will be back again.

The show was very entertaining and more than just hot men taking their clothes off. Carlos Fang, the MC, engaged the audience with humorous conversation and I joined a few ladies on stage with him. I won’t say what we each did, but Carlos made that really fun for me. The entire night was amazing.The dance performers; Jaxon, Beau, Jeff, Will, Nic, Carlo and Ceaser all had amazing choreographed sets. Each man was a very different experience to enjoy and kept you on your toes. They easily entertained the audience and many different woman of beauty were invited on stage. I hope to get Jaxon’s chair experience next time! 😏You can tell a lot of long hours, planning, routines practices, training, work and workouts were put into this to make the tour a success from Forrest Jones Entertainment, Magic Men Australia, all the performers and everyone else in between.I was working in the Roxy theatre building throughout the day of the show(like a fly on the wall you might say) and saw how these men interacted with each other on and off stage, behind the scenes. Everyone was very polite and cheeky with a “bromance” type love in the air. Without a doubt the women in the building were smiling and laughing a lot more with the Magic Men about! It was a pleasure to meet them and to see their show. I can’t wait to seek them out in the 2024 Canadian tour. I may just have to catch a flight before then! 😉I, 100% recommend booking them. I had an unfortunate long-COVID reaction with my muscles, so I wasn’t sure if I could travel, but following Caesar’s shares of his health recovery motivated me so much! It was an honor to see and meet these men! Will is of course an absolute dream and super sweet ;) as they all are, but they are also just as compassionate and devoted to their work. Dory The Atomikkkittie: I attended the matinee at the Opera House in Toronto last weekend and I have nothing but great things to say about it. I had no idea what to expect as I bought these tickets as a birthday gift for friends who bailed on me. I was out 3 tickets, but I went anyway. First of all, the men are wonderful. Super sweet and respectful. Not the least bit sleazy. Everything was consensual and everyone was having a fantastic time. The show was great. Music was fun to sing and dance to. Performances were so much fun to watch. The women on stage were having the time of their lives. The men were so inclusive, taking pics with everyone and not just singling out only attractive people to come on stage with them. I highly recommend attending the show when they’re in your town. Hoping they’ll be coming back here soon and I’ll make sure I’m one of the lucky ones to go on stage this time:)
Stefanie Rerich: Went to see the guys on their Canada tour in Winnipeg. Let’s just say it was a blast, 10/10 night, so much fun! The guys are all lovely and know how to entertain a room full of ladies. Definitely recommend seeing them if you’re planning a girls night out! Going to see them when they come back next year.

Jordan Km: My partner and I visited O-bar yesterday evening for a belated birthday dinner for him. I was extremely excited to go here and my family kindly helped us pay to have some snacks and drinks here as a present for him. Straight out of the elevator the first thing we were met with was quite a strong smell of sewage. At first I thought maybe we were right next to the bathrooms but we weren’t, and even then it was really unpleasant and not how I expected my first impression to be. Then for the bar snacks we ordered sweet potato fries (which were lovely) and the feta and chilli hummus dips (each dip was $14 which I thought was very expensive). When I ordered I asked what the feta and hummus came with and the waitress said bread which I was pleased with. When the food arrived however we received a single half a piece of sourdough each and that was it. I was really surprised about this as I assumed surely each dip would have at least come with half a piece of bread on their own let alone me having ordered two, if that was the way they chose to serve the food. There were two of us, two dips and half a piece of bread each. I wasn’t sure if we were just supposed to eat the rest with a spoon and honestly for the price both were really average. Later on when we both had our drinks I decided to ask if there was anything else small on the menu we could order as I was still hungry and the waitress said there was in fact extra bread for $3. I was more than happy to order and pay for that (which I did) however I wish that this would have at least been offered alongside the dips, or better they just give you more accompaniments in the first place. During our experience there the smell of sewage didn’t really go away either and none of the wait staff addressed it. Finally when I went to pay I was asked if I would like to add a tip and I said no. I then noticed on my receipt that an almost $11 gratuity tip had been added? I wasn’t sure if this was just standard and the tip was meant to be extra or if this was the tip and the lady didn’t press no on the machine but I was really unhappy about it. Normally I would have just left it. But this was meant to be a one off amazing experience and it wasn’t. The place smelled terrible, and we spent nearly $42 on bar snacks and received half a piece of bread and that was it, on top of spending $142 overall including the drinks. I do want to be transparent and say the staff were lovely and refunded me the gratuity amount which I did feel really awful about. They were all pleasant no issues there. It was more the lack of value for money, the poor smelling environment, overpriced and very average tasting food.

Sigrid Buela: The waiter on our side was unprofessional in answering our questions. One instance was when my husband asked him about what to order for a 3-course meal, it was our first time dining at your restaurant so we are not familiar and just making sure, that waiter responded in a rude tone with "I already told you this" before answering him. He was also sarcastic and seemed annoyed. This made our mood a bit sour as I saw a difference on how he assisted us and with the other dining customers. The oysters were sooo tasty and so was the dessert. We weren’t really impressed when they secretly add the gratituities to the final bill which I believe to be rude as it’s up to me whether the service was deserving of a tip or not. Natalia Gap: The WORST experience ever!!! We were never so mistreated anywhere around the world, like we were by the entrance staff of Ivy! There was no queue, and right upon arrival we got literally YELLED ON to show our ID’s and lose hats, which we did immediately, completely sober and calm and asked to be treated politely. That obviously turned them on even more, and they started threaten us not to let us in unless we take back that we said, as if we were the rude ones. The way they were enjoying misusing their “power” putting people down completely turned us off. One of us was then rejected for no reason and we left. Being a business owner myself, I would never tolerate any of my staff treating clients like this, such a terrible attitude.

C & R. P: So after registering interest on the Merivale website, we turned up last night at 7pm, as advertised, for the Ocean Alley gig. Massive queue and we were told by staff to forget about getting in. Very disappointing after making our way into the city on a cold and wet night. Tickets (even if free) should have been allocated to avoid this situation for many people. The staff were blaming the event organisers Coopers, but at the end of the day it reflects poorly on Merivale.
