Our 5 hour barista course includes 2 hours of coffee art and results in a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment bearing the units of competency SITHFAB005 Prepare and serve espresso coffee and SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety (issued by CBD College, RTO# 91399).

This course can be completed in one day or split over separate days (3 hours one day, 2 hours on another).

Highly recommend this course for everyone, especially who’s living in Sydney area and wants to find a barista job or just interested in coffee art. The trainer Nguyen Le is super super friendly, enthusiastic and I can see that he really wants to express his passion about coffee to everybody around. He also provided me some useful tips and experience which are really important for a new guy like me. Another trainer, Viet Nguyen, is awesome as well. He’s really dedicated in the class and also enthusiastically reminds his students to do some revisions at home. Overall, although there are plenty of options to find a good barista course in Sydney but this one I think is one of the best to consider.

Le was such an amazing trainer: super friendly, experienced, knowledgeable and very supportive! Although I’ve had a bit of experience in making coffee previously, thanks to his helping me point out my strengths and weaknesses, I can see that my skills have been improved remarkably. Besides, I love that there are only 2 students per class, which made the course more personalised (though affordable fee) and also really assisted in achieving the highest training quality. Once again, thank you so much Lee, and to anyone out there who’s looking for a credible barista training course, I highly recommend First Shot Barista Training!

Quality course! Teacher Le Nguyen is very professional and enthusiastic. Not only I was trained on coffee making but also how to create an impressive resume and how to take a good interview. I signed up for the Job Hunting package and it worth every penny as I got 2 barista jobs just after 8 hours of training. Definitely recommend for anyone who is still considering!


I did the 3 hours short course and Le managed to give me all the basic knowledge of coffee making. Had a great learning experience with him as he was so friendly and energetic. He pointed out what my mistakes are and focused on those untill I did it correct! I got disappointed on myself at a stage when I wasn't doing the milk steaming correctly but he kept encouraging me and finally I learnt to steam milk properly. He really boosts up the confidence of his students. I didn't even realise how the session passed so quickly as we were talking about music, hobbies etc and learning to make coffee at the same! I highly recommend First shot barista training!


My friend and I chose the Job Hunting course and it was fantastic. Le Nguyen was an amazing leader and showed us everything we needed to know to become junior baristas (milk steaming, latte art, correct dosages, ect). Definitely recommend him!!

Would definitely recommend FSBT & especially Mr. Lee to anyone who is starting their barista career. Lee knew what my flaws were and amazingly built up my self-esteem. He gave out literally all his experience to me so that I could get my dream job. A huge shout out to Lee! Highly recommend this place to start your coffee journey. The course was filled by excitement and laugh but still provide more than enough basic theory and practice. The mentor (Mr. Le) is about super duper friendly who have more than 6 years working with beans. I ensure you will become an actual skillful barista after the class.
