Malt Shovel Taphouse - The Rocks: what do users think?
A Bunny Yay: Lost it's original charm and old style appeal that suited the food and country of origin. Used to take friends from Europe to visit here and they loved the venue before the renovation. Now it is so brightly lit and blinding, which does not suit a night out at the Rocks at all. Dim the lights and go back to the old roots, the new renovation looks like a deli and tourist trap. The food was lovely, drinks are amazing. But I am not returning to a cookie cutter place with no charm or atmosphere. What a shame.
Vince Brown: Sensational atmosphere and service
Vee Bee: Staff confused, can't even help with the items on the menu.
MIthun Angel: Mind blowing!! The food was de-li-ci-ous!!! Nachos was the best. I am definetely going back there. Awesome staff members and service!!
Robert Lock: This is my local "go to " place and I ove it! The daily specials are beyond reproach and the staff extremely accommodating. Great to see the place up and running again after a tough time for everyone. Enjoy the selection of beverages- especially during happy time.
Chris Tanner: great food, super friendly and attentive staff ... we'll be back soon
James McKinney: How disappointing. Apparently this used to be a Belgium bar but now it's just a place serving the same standard lagers as most other places in Sydney.
Ben: Belgium is the world's best beer producing country. Unfortunately, a fine and unique establishment has been replaced by yet another generic, Australian beer-centric pub. Awful, awful, awful.
T P.: closed. A neighbour walking buy told us apparently some people say they were gonna reopen in March or April, nobody knew.Is it really that hard to communicate the closure of this place on google and online website ??Such unprofessional and disapointing behaviour towards any current and new customers. (And then they’ll cry that the locals don’t support small businesses. - we try, you’re the one making a joke out of us!
Roxanne Frost: PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT : This place is actually CLOSED, despite their website claiming they're open 7 day a week.My hubby was looking forward to a pot of mussels for his birthday, so we made the trip here especially. Only to discover they were closed "until the city reopens". It was a sunny Saturday, with lots of people in the Rocks for the markets. The city was plenty open. Very disappointing.Top tip: if your business is not operating it would be nice to say so on your website and on Google Maps.
Leonardo Zannier: Very good 1kg pot mussels. A must try
Gary Shea: Delicious mussels are a MUST try, great selection of beers try all the Belgium beers!
David Haesaert: Just 3 stars as the owners decided, after the rebranding, to only keep a few Belgian beers, and upped the price significantly. This was the signature of this place, and made it unique in Sydney. Now not too sure what makes this place standout.
Ram Saleh (Ramie): had the best night ever! drinks are amazing.
renee gray: I’m a great fan of mussels and this place is certainly the best spot to eat them for any other mussel lovers out there. We’ve actually been twice in the last two weeks and really loved it. Great casual spot that’s easy without much fuss.
Baseem Butris: Its not as used to be. NO Belgian beers on tap Only bottles ????? the are not the best . Disappointing Disappointing
Saurabh Das: Popped in for a casual Friday night dinner. Rotisserie beef was excellent...!We’ll definitely be back for the mussels on a couple of nights time.
tmdiepen1: We were disappointed to find that the Belgian had been transformed into a modern restaurant. In our opinion it has lost all its charm and uniqueness. The menu is average. The food is ok. The service was good. We are not likely to come back.
Blair Murray: Yummy food
Evan Bradley: This venue is fine for what it is, but is like every other modern bar now. It has completely lost all the charm and specialty that it used to be. Essentially NO Belgian beers (the 2 available in bottle are not the best) and no associated food. Disappointing change from a great decor and style.
RU55KI1: Avoid!Cheap and tacky.A real tourist trap

tastysydney: Their $22 Express Lunch from on Monday-Friday 12-2pm is amazing value 🤑, as the it also includes a drink (either a glass of wine, a schooner of tap beer or soft drinks) 🤩! Henley’s used to be Beer Deluxe in the past, but it has been revamped now & the place looks so nice with a chillax vibe… perfect for lunch or dinner/drinks!Chicken Parmigiana was massive and yum 🤤! I had it with Young Henrys Newtoner Pale Ale (my fave beer - however there are plenty of beer options!) My friend had Togarashi Pumpkin Bowl, which was yum too 😘Outdoor seatings available, QR code ordering for convenience & great for group dining. They’re also Kids friendly (kids menu available). Plenty of Vegetarian menu, with Vegan & Gluten Free menu are also available.
Grant P: Very nice. Good food and reasonable prices. Great midweek lunch special of $22 for a meal and a drink - that's hard to beat. It has some sunny and shady spots for guests. Great having a meal and watching the passing parade of people. I have been back to this place many a time.
Rakita Bedi: I recently had the pleasure of visiting Henley's Bar & Kitchen in Sydney to celebrate my wedding anniversary with my spouse & brother. I must say, the experience was nothing short of fantastic.Firstly, the atmosphere was just perfect. We were seated on the first floor, which offered a stunning view of the waterfront at night. The ambience was cosy and intimate, which was just what we were looking for. The decor was stylish and modern, with just the right amount of lighting to set the mood.We ordered a round of pale ale beers and some snacks to nibble on while we enjoyed the view. The beer was perfectly chilled, with a great flavour that hit the spot. The snacks were equally delicious and just the right size to satisfy our hunger without ruining our appetite for dinner. The service was also noteworthy. The staff was attentive, friendly, and prompt with our orders. All in all, Henley's Bar & Kitchen is an excellent choice for a romantic evening out. The waterfront view, coupled with the great food, drinks, and service, made for a memorable experience. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a great night out in Sydney.
May P: Great place for an office function
Aaron Francis: Lovely little bar, friendly staff, good drinks great food!
Prash: Best experience for quick service . Food was amazing and great vibes. Staff is very professional and cooperative. Lots of option for veg people.

Beer Barrel: what do users think?
Emma Power: Awesome service, fast delivery, great priced beers. Highly recommend!
Jason King: This is easily THE best craft beer store in Sydney. Roman only buys the best beer from Australia and over seas. All the hard to get stuff too. Cheapest prices in Australia too. Unbeatable.
Tomas Pellizzer: Best craft beer bottle shop in Sydney! If you are looking for great quality and unique craft beer, this is THE PLACE to go to. And also, has the best prices!
Mark Greaves: Super quick delivery, great service!
Scott Buckley: Fantastic range, great prices. My fav bottle shop in Sydney.
Ben Wadsworth: Roman and the team always have great beers in at some of the best prices in Sydney. Highly recommended!
Rob Spicer: The best craft beer bottle shop in Sydney. Period. Roman and his team are the best. The prices are very competitive. Don’t bother shopping anywhere else
Lucas Zhu: This is my Go-to place for all sorts of fresh craft beer from all over the world. I often find the finest beers that I had on my wish list for months appear in store. Online ordering and delivery is easy and fast, I often get it the next day if not the same day! Each can is wrapped with bubble wrap. The owner is a very genuine and honest bloke, very passionate about beers.
Nick Bonner: Have visited this bottle shop in person previously, but 1st online purchase. They just so happened to have all the new / recent beers I’d been looking at but didn’t want to commit to packs of each direct from brewery. This allowed me to get 1 can of all the beers I wanted and have it shipped very promptly to my door. Was also tempted by the tap fill offering, so much so I added a 1L WC Dipa to my cart & that was shipped too!! With just 50c for a bottle! Love it.The $15 shipping slightly hurt, but it is flat rate, but I appreciate it’s another cost that you incur. However for the convenience of getting single cans very competitively priced from 5 breweries it was something I was happy to pay. Cheers team.
Adam Roberts: Great and fast service! Ordered on a Tuesday and was received on the Friday. And all of the bottles were wrapped and packaged extremely well so there was no risk of breakage.
Cam Tilbrook: Huge craft beer selection, great prices, and probably the best service I've ever had from an online shop
imala alwis: Hands down, the best bottle shop in Sydney! Roman and co. are amazing at their job and get some great stuff in. Highly recommend.
Andres Nieto: Best selection and great prices
punkbus1: Highly recommended. Always quick delivery and nice dudes, much respect for importing rare US beers!
Michael McKerlie: Best beer shop in Australia
Frazer Graham: A genuine 5 star experience. Superb range of craft beer, exceptional price points & a superb delivery service if you’re in range. Cannot recommend them highly enough!
Liam Chang: If you live close to the city these guys are crazy good. Deliveries within a few hours. Talk about keep cold drink fresh
Ryan Allison: Phenomenal selection of beers (including some quite rare selections at times), careful attention to detail on growler fills so the quality will hold up very well, easy local delivery, and Roman is super helpful, including with recommendations.
Roman S: Great place that has very tasty beer.Kind and helpful owner.Recommend.
Lino Wiroto: Roman and his team is great, everytime I drop by and get some recommendation from them, they pointed me to some amazing beers. The selection is wide and vary but more impressively Roman and his team are knowledgeable and passionate about it. They share with you what they've tried and liked, great little gem of craft drinks shop.
Sander Kok: I've been looking for high quality craft beer while in Australia. This is the place in Sydney! Friendly and personal advice at a friendly price. Highly recommend Beer Barrel!
