He is very knowledgeable and treats his patients with empathy and compassion, most importantly he listens to his patient and takes great care. He follows up and is very responsive whenever we have a question. My daughter made an amazing recovery from depression and anxiety thanks to his treatment approach. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

susanna: I have had an amazing experience with Steven. He is incredibly knowledgeable and also kind, listens very carefully and never appears rushed. On first meeting him, around 9 months ago, he asked questions, listened and didn’t dismiss anything I said. I had been told by another health professional that my symptoms were something I had to live with and manage and that nothing could be done. It was depressing and stressful. I went to Steven who listened and said there were lots of things that could be done. That alone made me feel better. He made a number of connections with what I told him and made suggestions that have really helped, including working on my gut health and my central nervous system and suggested a number of supplements that addressed suspected vitamin and mineral deficiencies. I feel so much better! On returning to the original practitioner, he said he was “astonished” but suggested it was just “lucky” that my immune system had turned things around. I know that that’s not the case and that Steven was able to connect the dots and suggest what I needed. I can’t thank him enough and highly recommend him.

Suzanne Stevens: Was left waiting for an hour for appt- Dr told me was because no one had let him know I was there. I was referred by my GP for a colonoscopy but then told I needed an initial consultation with gastroenterologist before this could be scheduled. This consultation cost $330 where I just provided exactly the same information I’d given to my GP and then was told I should have a colonoscopy. This seemed completely unnecessary (and I was told by my GP that this consultation wasn’t needed)
Judge Hershey: Professional but be warned, This is a private clinic that uses rooms with the private hospital with Sky high out of pocket expenses. If you do not have private cover look else where if not an emergency.

Mac Nicoll: The birth of our daughter wasn’t straight forward but the staff (reception, midwifes, nurses and doctors) all had my wife’s and daughter’s best interests at heart throughout.Everything was explained appropriately, the choices made were ours to make based on accurate information and ultimately our daughter was born with numerous care providers working in an extremely attentive and professional manner.Recovery was equally excellent. We stayed in hospital for 3 days after and the advice from the midwives on how to care for our daughter was amazing. We learnt so much in such a short space of time and nothing was too much for them. If we needed anything, they were always there ready to provide!(On a side note: It frustrates me that people write 1 star reviews without contemplating the fact that medical professionals desperately want people to remain as safe as possible at all times. I understand that mothers have birth plans but sometimes it isn’t appropriate to follow what you ‘want’ to happen. The advice given is because the doctors, nurses and midwives (with vast experience) want you to be safe. To assume you know better than people who have trained for decades is extremely arrogant!Secondly, giving a 1 star review based on a specific individual or because someone was rude to you once, or parking for vehicles over 2m isn’t provided are terrible reasons for a 1 star. Be assured that the MEDICAL CARE at RHW is second to none!)

Jaimee Gad: After experiencing a traumatic and life threatening birthing experience at Sutherland Hospital, I was very hesitant to give birth at a hospital again, so opted for a homebirth. However due to unforeseen circumstances it was necessary for me to birth at Royal Womens. Honestly this hospital gave me faith in humanity again and my birth and postnatal experience was literally more than I could have asked for. Each midwife throughout the entire process was respectful and kind, helpful and reassuring and made me feel so safe and well cared for. Thankfully everything went wonderfully and we had a healthy beautiful baby girl without any problem. Thank you so much for wonderful care 💗
Ivana Strmenova: I have nothing but a praise to say about RHW. I gave birth on 19/12/2022 and the level of care, support and professionalism has been amazing. My pregnancy hadn’t been a smooth sailing so I experienced different departments throughout (triage, day care, doctors appointments, later lactation support) and have nothing but an excellent experience. Midwifes and nurses in the antenatal and postnatal wards were simply superb, really friendly and provided excellent support, guidance and reassurance. This was my first baby and if I have any more children in the future I will definitely choose Royal again.

We weren’t able to get into the Midwifery Group Practice even though we tried to enrol as soon as we could, and had to settle for GP shared care.

Kian Richard: My wife and I had the most amazing experience through the midwife program. We had a magical unforgettable birth of our first child in our apartment. Through out the pregnancy we had a wonderful experience with our assigned midwife Natalia who is an angel, she was super helpful very informative and genuinely loves her job. As did the other midwives she saw on the od time Natalia wasn’t available.On the night my wife went into labour Melissa came out and guided us through the later hours of labour until Natalia join for the last couple of hours.Melissa is an actual angel also and made this experience the best thing to happen in my life. I can not recommend getting into the midwives program highly enough or organising a home birth!!!The care they both took was so gentle considerate, always asking permission before for touching my wife and making her feel so empowered to choose never forcing or over stepping any boundaries! The knowledge these woman have is stunning.The Midwives are there to help and guide you through the birth basically giving you as much or as little support as you need while in labour. Truly stoked with the out come and home much they helped after basically cleaning up everything and helping my wife into bed to rest. They hung around to do all the checks and make sure we’re safe and good to go.The continued support days after is so genuine and to see them so excited that our bubs and us are thriving is so awesome!Huge thank you to all the Midwives and support that goes into the Midwife program her huge love you amazing people! ❤️❤️❤️
Silke O'Callaghan: We couldn't be more grateful to have been part of the MGP Program. Our midwife Natalia was so caring, knowledgable and experienced that we couldn't have asked for a better person to deliver our baby. It was refreshing to feel that birth was still considered a natural process and that my birth wishes were respected. My husband and I will never forget when our special soul was born in the birthing centre. During my pregnancy I also received support from some of the other midwives (Ella and Steph) who were also so lovely. All other staff around us during the birth were also so lovely and kind. I felt really safe and cared for. The midwifes are absolute goddesses and the provision and continuity of care provided by the midwives of this program is outstanding!

Alison Palmer: Near impossible to navigate around hospital with the construction followed signs for pedestrian that lead to a loading dock once inside there are 3 different reception areas with no indication to which one you need to go to reception staff are not helpful and take forever to book you in. Then once booked in they still get your name wrong
Gemma Hilton: I just finished a week long stay for chronic pain management on the Macquarie Ward in the Royal for women public hospital.The care and empathy I received from not only by my doctor and his team but the nurses themselves were exceptional.Just to name a few of these wonderful womenn. Thank you to Mary,Fiona,Freya,Regina,Gemma,Lilly,Hee, Emily,Crystal, Amelia and all the entire support staff at the hospital who interacted with me daily.It is the first time in a long time where I felt safe and heard in a new medical environment and never had the added stress of ‘fighting for help.’I will definitely be returning here for treatment for now on and recommend it to anyone who has faced medical trauma as they had structures and systems in place that ensured you were in control and worked with the staff the entire time.

francine halstead: Staff overworked, no privacy, doctors treating people in front of other patients, everybody knows other peoples issues. Son had to spend over 18hrs in a reclining chair been here for over 24hrs, it is a nightmare for someone on the spectrum lights noise, smell etc, still no resolve! Son came in for help and is yet to receive any!

Wonderful caring staff and very kind care for a minor problem. The staff were very committed to their jobs and provided a very personal service nothing was too much trouble. Staff were genuine and n kind could not do enough for me.It was the first time I had been there but I would recommend this hospitalcapable and efficient staffThey worked well together.Their kind manner and focus on each patient was a credit to all at RPA.Well done!
Ozm Yldz: Visited the emergency department today. Staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities are OK. The waiting times are insanely long though. There are also not enough seats for everyone. By the end of the day, I was shattered.
LOFF: Definitely the best hospital in Sydney.

l0stc0ntr0l22: I fell over and smashed my face on the concrete and was taken to this hospital. I was treated like garbage and one of the younger doctors gave me a injection in my arm by punching the needle into my arm whilst holding it in his fist. The senior doctor physically assaulted me to which I made a report to the police. As I was hesitant to make the complaint I left it too late for the police to do anything. Worst experience in all my life. I left in tears.
Mark Butler: Still saving lives but so much attitude and rudeness from admin, nurses and doctors. Waited in Emergency for a long time twice before and the staff just make it so much worse. Why work in a caring profession when you really don't care about anyone? They are toxic even to their colleagues and blame low funding when really they could be wasting a lot less time and money if they helped people quickly before symptoms worsen waiting around.

Kristen Blakers: Not a good hospital. Their staff in short stay ward laughed at me, spoke about me behind my back within ears length and basically spent 8 minutes with me after I waited 8 hrs for an urgent gynecologist review. There are few good staff here...you can only count them on one hand. Unfortunately.

Min Low: Fantastic doctors, nurses, and paramedics. A shout out to Dr Madeleine Gare, Yvonne, Rosie, Liam, from the emergency department, for their care and professionalism when my daughter experienced chest pains while in uni. The team is obviously busy at their jobs, but still managed to care for my daughter and the many many other patients, many whom are in distress. Thanks again to the emergency department at RPAH.

Car Gobs: Have to say had surgery today, all the staff at rpa were great the nurses do a great job.Angela & Hemi looked after me very well & a big thankyou to Dr Lawrence & his team.The nurse should be paid what they are worth, for with out them the patient wouldn't receive the care we deserve, it's a no brainer Dom Nsw premier every family & children need the care, so pay the nurses & all front line workers what they are worth,.Mr Perrottet, as I said,Pay the front-line workers what they are worth as u see you needed an ambulance for your wife. We all need help once in our lives if we are unlucky, pay all front line workers.
Siavash shakibaee: I was discharged from the RPA on Friday 17th of March. I was there under Professor Cao’s care for lung surgery. My recovery was at Cardiothoracic unit 6E2.I would like to thank Professor and all the nurses in that unit, especially, Sophia, Paige, Oi Ying Lo and Francesca who took excellent care of me. I am grateful for their kindness, professional care and compassion. The nurses were always smiling, in a good mood and very patient. My recovery could have been very stressful, but the nurses were helpful and made me feel at ease.
