Bourke Street Bakery Surry Hills: what do users think?
Myrmidon MacKenzie: Still the best pork and fennel sausage roll ever!
Jo-Anne Curry: This is my daily go to for their amazing coffee. A few favourites: chocolate croissants, ginger brulee tarts, flourless chocolate cake, and their pies & sausage rolls are to die for!
Marieke Snelleman: Best carrot cake and coffee in Sydney!
Jackson ZiJian: Get the beef redwine pie it's the best pie in city
Ted Reviews: Pork and Fennel Sausage Roll. Lamb Harissa Sausage Roll are delicious here. Washed down with some Smooth Belgian Iced Chocolate Drink from their fridge. You'll sleep like baby for the rest of the afternoon after a Sunday Brunch.
Noel Valenti: Amazing coffee and bakery goods. Very busy, very often and for good reason.
Hugh Goold: Ok for a hung over sausage roll - but expect reflux! The oiliest ones in town. The croissants and pains aux chocolats are chewy and tasteless. A big shame given how much competition there is with tonton and la vie est belle just around the corner.
Steve Kur: The OG, best pork & fennel sausage roll.
L L: A place that never lets you down when it comes to their hot bakes. All types of bakeries are amazing. What I love the most here is their ginger tart (unique, full of flavours and iconic).I can't wait to visit again.Highly recommended! 🥐
Gunawan Santoso: One of my favourite bakery
Liyana Rosli: I bought the vegan eggplant and chickpea sausage roll and a cup of mocha. It was nice to have first thing in the morning!
Leila: Arrogant and agitated staff. Do not recommend this branch. Threw my carrot cake into a bag and squished it. Didn’t want to give me a box. Threw my pies that I ordered also into a paper bag. By the time I sat down they all fell apart and became impossible to handle. No care for their customers. Also filled the coffee to the brim, making it spill everywhere. Incompetent staff.
Zuyu Isara: This is the best pie in surry hills!! And the rest of the menu looks delicious too. I will try every thing one day but can’t go past the beef mushroom pie. 😋
Gloria Chan: I enjoy going to bakery a lot and always exploring new bakeries. I know Bourke Street Bakery is actually quite famous and have several shops so I decided to give it a go.Beef brisket pie 💜💜💜💜The crust is very nice. You can taste beef brisket pieces and they go so well with mushrooms. Taste even better with ketchup.Creme brûlée 💜💜💜💜💜It is very VERY nice. The ginger taste is not strong. Goes SO SO SO well with the tart. The tart itself is a bit thick to make you can taste the tart.Lemon curd tart 💜💜💜It is filled with curd but it is too lemony to me. I think it’s the same tart pastry as the creme brulee so it’s alright.Pork sausage roll 💜💜💜I actually expect a lot but then it disappointed me. Tbh the sausage is juicy and nice. The roll is also ok. However they couldn’t combine well together.Olive sourdough 💜💜💜💜💜 (not jn picture)One of my favourite sourdough. If you go to the bakery, there is no way you not buying it. SO JUST BUY IT. The sourdough is not hard at all. Olives give very nice taste to it.Almond croissant 💜 (not in picture)It really disappointed me. I’m not sure is it an accident but what. The pastry is bad. The filling is bad. The toppings is also bad. I almost couldn’t finish it.My standard:1 star: the worst, not worth eating2 star: bad because of either taste or portion or not worth it3 star: it’s ok but I’m not going back4 star: it’s good and I might be going back5 star: I love it and I will definitely go again
Diedre ledger: Always good- like the frozen pies- took some to family in the states recently- they travel well!
Hanbi You: Ginger Crème Brûlée Tart - 5/5
Liang Nie: My only place to go for after an early morning gym session, great coffee and fantastic foods, and of course, beautiful staff and services!
Ania Pfeifer: We were starving 😂 we had beef pie yummy lamb almond Harrisa sausage roll delicious, almond croissant a must and ginger crème brûlée tart so good, then I wanted more so we had beer beef mashed potato pie good , got lucky no line up , highly recommend, friendly helpful staff , tomato sauce is not ketchup which I don’t care for anyway haha but homemade tangy tomato sauce which goes so well with savoury dishes a must have imo 😊👍🏻 save your appetite and come here !
Warren Bishop: Good food but standards and service are not what they used to be
Sheldon Wile: Amazing place in Sydney for Sausage Rolls, meat pies and sweet pastries. Highly recommend the sausage rolls and tarts available
Kemal Enver: The ham and cheese thing was 👌🏻

Lorraine's Patisserie: what do users think?
Yaoqi Huang: The worst service ever.
Alice Xu: If no one answer the phone at all, please just remove the number from your advertising. Such a waste of time. It’s about to close down anyway so don’t want to give too much criticism. Good cake in the cheese cake category, not impressive enough for a third try (seconds is bought by others) until I heard it’s about to close down. Definitely not worth a trip in vain, will not try again, bye bye.
Carolyn Tran: Lorraine, you're lucky you make good cakes. I'm not sure how you've managed to keep your business otherwise, your service is appalling. Beyond disappointed to have had dealt with you during this time of the year (Christmas).
Zac Grady: Yummy croissant but expected a greater variety of goods there. Didn’t try anything else unfortunately
Yue Han: Me and my partner both agreed that this is the BEST CHEESECAKE and PUFF we've ever had. The puff had a crispy camaralised layer at top, and a soft puff pastry underneath it with cream fillings. It was amazing how these two combined so well together. The cheesecake had a really fluffy texture and there was this just the right amount of sourness that balanced the richness and sweetness of the cheesecake so well that you would only wanna have another one.On the other hand, we both think the signature Mascarpone cheesecake is below the standard of the other two.Overall a really impressive dessert experience and we would definitely come back again.
Paul Dollard: Stood for 5 minutes without a hint of acknowledgment. So rude.
Mohammad Habibur Rahman (Sumon): Very good for cakes and pastries.
Rachel Y: I've always known about Lorraine's cheesecake and loved it. It was the opposite of the heavy New York cheesecake - light and fluffy with the lemony flavour. In recent years, their strawberry mascarpone has become my new favourate, a must try!
R A: Very expensive but worth every penny! The Mascarpone Cake is simply delicious and those mouth watering Choux Puffs are dangerously addictive….you simply won’t be able to stop at one! Everything at Lorraine’s is exquisite, so you can’t go wrong, whatever you choose!
Angel Z: Old school almond croissant which had light crisp layers, a cluster of toasted almonds dusted with icing sugar on top and dried cherries + jam in the centre. The pastry was crumbly, fresh and very delicious!Unfortunately, I personally dislike the taste of preserved cherries, however, I understand this is subjective. My preferred filling is creamy & nutty or citrus & fruity. All in all, it’s better than the almond croissants of piccolo Leo & Bourke Street bakery, but falls short of Lode pies & Banksia Bakehouse.Would be keen to come back and try their cakes!
bernard chee: It’s certainly a hidden gem across Wynyard station in Ivy precinct. Experience cakes, tarts and other pastries. Catch a glimpse of Lorraine Godsmark, working behind the open pastry kitchen. Hits and misses for me where Coconut macaroon takes the top spot, follow by Mascarpone and Franjipane tart.Take away only.
LU SZ-PEI: Those two are nice.
Bo Jun Lam: The Pâtisserie is tucked away in a small alley snd its easy to miss. I went at about 2pm and there was not a lot available. I didn't have much choice and just got the mascarpone cake and the Ruby's cake. But let me tell you the mascarpone cake was so so so good, one of the best I've ever had!
A K: Love it.. wish they were not sold out
Mart Deg: I had the coconut macaroons, sausage roll, lemon cheesecake, Frangipane tart and Ruby’s cake (not in that order)All were great but my favs were the Ruby’s cake and Franjipane cake. By far!The cheese cake base had a bit too much ginger for my likings but I must admit that I am not a big fan of ginger to start with. The cheesecake itself was incredible. So light and fluffy. The sausage roll was enjoyable but average. maybe I had too much cake beforehand and was too saturated. Will definitely return.Highly recommended.
Christine Dang: I’ve been coming back to Lorraine’s for the strawberry mascarpone cake since it opened. It’s my husbands favourite cake so I get it for him every year. I also like the Ruby’s cake. When I have friends visiting from interstate, I take them here to try the cakes. It’s best to pre order in advance otherwise I think you can purchase individual serves on the day. I tried to order last Friday to pick up on Saturday and it was sold out, that’s how popular the cake is!Lorraine is a humble, dedicated and hardworking woman. One evening before closing I picked up a cake and she was the last one in the shop. I told her that she works hard, and her response was, “my team are good to me”.Today my husband picked up his cake with my 2.5 yo who wanted to eat the cake immediately. She could see he was getting upset and she gave him some chocolates to have instead.Thank you Lorraine :)
Charbel Azzi: Absolutely terrible service. Called up the store at 9am on Friday morning to order a cake, knowing they open at 8:30 and no one answered. Kept trying to call but no one picked up until 10:30am. By that time the cake I wanted for that day was sold out. Fine. Placed an order for Saturday morning to pickup and the lady on the phone told me it’d be ready at 12pm. Went into the store at 12:40pm, my cake was not put aside. They had no recollection of my order, nor did they have any cakes to let me buy. The lady at the counter then said that it’d be ready in 30 minutes. What’s the point of calling up, ordering and being told a time if they’re not even going to have the cake ready? Terrible experience, will not be returning.
Rachel S: Mascarpone cake is a must try!
hill ary: The negative reviews on here about horrific customer service is all true. Came at opening time to purchase breakfast - was told pretty much nothing is ready, come back in 15 mins. I come back in 20 mins, there's still nothing ready, I can try coming back in 5 mins. Why even bother putting up opening times if you have nothing to sell. Save your money and your time and don't come here. Merivale needs to get rid of this terrible business
Zoe Chen: The great bakery hide into the alley, every time pass through always have long queue. This time I try croissant and cheese cake, croissant surprisingly have wonderful balance between the sweet and acid from fruit. The other cakes is perform well, not too sweet I love that. But I saw the review from other guests seems service have big issues which need to improve

Sydney Cakery: what do users think?
Mina Vai: I arranged for a pumpkin spiced cake with cream cheese frosting for my brother's wedding. The team at Sydney Cakery arranged a cake tasting and made adjustments to recipe as requested by the couple. The cake was delicious! Caryn and her team did an amazing job. Appreciate the open lines of communication and the service was great. Thank you again! :)
Moshik G: Took the combo , the coffee was very good, the ciabatta with the smash avocado was pretty simple and not really satisfying
Eli Rifai: Can't say if I stumbled upon this place by accident, or by fate. 10/10 made my day
Ray Meneses: Ordered 2 Key Lime pies for a dinner party, they were delicious! loved by all! Only bad thing is I live too far away and delivery cost more than a pie hahah. Still rate 5 stars!
keke ow: Was greeted with friendly service and a lot of selection of different desserts: cakes, cinnamon rolls, cookies and brownies. The carrot cake itself is slightly dense whilst being soft, well spiced with pieces of carrot strips throughout. The cake itself isn’t particularly sweet as the spices of nutmeg and cinnamon are prominent however the frosting pushes through and makes this dessert. The frosting was a bit grainy but very sweet, with hints of cinnamon that perfectly compliment the carrot cake. I love how it is three layers, making a more unique texture and more evenly distributing the delicious frosting. Will be back for the red velvet cake in the future.
Tim Masters: I just had the best cheesecake of my life. Sweet and almost fluffy, absolutely worth fighting the kids over the next forkful!
Teanna Ta: Amazing cake shop. Their cakes are seriously amazing - so moist and flavorful! I loved them so much that I even chose them to make my wedding cake. The owner is also a really nice lady and she always responds quickly to my emails. You should definitely give this place a try!"
M D: Excellent classic chocolate cake. Will definitely order from them again - the red velvet looks great. Thanks!
Jessica Campbell: I highly recommend Sydney Cakery. Excellent delivery option within the CBD, the cake was a big hit and the online ordering was easy and had lots of options for customising our order. I will use again.
manisha reddy: Red velvet cake is decent size
Ambassador Bas: 10 years ago on my 50th birthday I was introduced to Red Velvet cake at the Cheese Cake factory in San Francisco, I loved it so much I have sourced a cake where ever I am since for my and partners birthdays. London, Amsterdam two different Cakery stores but none have been close to my first. That is until Now; for my 60th I’ve been fortunate to to find the Sydney Cakery. Here the Red Velvet cake was superb. Absolutely delicious and all my guests at my party loved it, some saying it was the best they’d ever had and where did I get it.I found the online ordering system to be easy and straight forward with good pictures and descriptions. When I picked the cake up the team were friendly and polite and wished me happy birthday which was lovely and put the cake into a good secure bag, as I had a 2klm walk to the restaurant.I rate this Red Velvet cake as in my best top two I’ve ever had and will be ordering from them again, the whole experience was pleasant and ultimately very tasty. Thank you Caryn and the team at Sydney Cakery.
Jen Chapman: I would like to say a huge THANK-YOU to Caryn and the Sydney Cakery Team. They very kindly accepted my order even though they were closed for some days over the festive period. Fabulous Customer Service!! I purchased a Red Velvet Cake, Devil’s Food Chocolate Cake and 2 boxes of the mixed brownies for my partners birthday. Everything was absolutely delicious, cake’s were moist with lovey flavours and the brownies…Wow so rich and tasty. A total hit with all the party guests! I know where to come in the future whenever I need excellent cakes!
Malcolm Savage: Wonderful cakes, food and service, especially the pumpkin pie
Emily Dong: If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We had placed an order for a cake for my sister's birthday and were given the wrong one. We had wanted to give the store the benefit of the doubt - but the owner had truly abominable customer service.Owner did not admit to her mistake when confronted, instead expecting us to bring back the cake if it was incorrect. So unreasonable. Did she want us to bring back the cake after the restaurant had already cut it up for us? In pieces? She changed her story many times and made up various excuses as well as saying that she was not responsible and blaming an employee (as an owner, this is not on...)Terrible customer service and we will not be returning. Even looking through her responses to other reviews, you can see a pattern of the owner refusing to admit to her own mistakes. Stay away.
Nicole Chin: I ordered a key lime pie for a Thanksgiving dinner and some of my friends said ‘best key lime pie ever!’ It was absolutely delicious and a crowd pleaser :)
Robyn Sharp: I ordered the Red Velvet cake for my 40th Bday and it was outstanding! I have extremely high expectations when it comes to red velvet as I lived in the States for a couple years and they really know how to do red velvet. This one was probably one of the best I’ve tasted and everyone that had some said it was absolutely delicious. The cream cheese icing was delicious and it was just so light and moist. Will def be purchasing from you again. Thanks so much :)
J Coup: Super prompt and helpful regarding custom orders. Staff are all friendly in their communication, and they have very affordable prices.
Ryland Jessie (Ryland): I didn’t eat anything, so can’t comment on the quality of the cakes, but I was super disappointed that the only gluten free options (chocolate, raspberry & chocolate, and orange something) were very plain looking and didn’t have icing.
Liv S: I ordered a cake for my brothers 21st bday. The cake turned out absolutely beautiful. I’ve seen past reviews about the cakes being too sweet so I specifically asked for it to not be sweet and it wasn't at all. The cake was amazing. Hands down the best cake. Although I did ask for a sponge cake, it more just a simple vanilla cake and not a sponge. However, because the cake was so tasty, I didn’t mind. The cake was amazing. Customer service is great and overall the whole experience of ordering a cake from this place via online was easy. They delivered the cake to my house and were lovely. The price was also too good to beat as other cake shops were trying to charge me over $200+. I’ll be ordering from Sydney Cakery again in the future.
Luciano Baltazar: disgusting, they sell cakes in poor condition and do not respond or return the money, please do not buy here, I would never do it again, terrible service and also they were not delivering the candles I bought and the felix birthday decoration, disorganized, disgusting cake.
JAVIER IGNACIO SALINAS MELENDEZ: It is THE WORST PASTRY SHOP, disgusting, they sold me an old vegan cake, they ruined our birthday, they are swindlers, I sent them an email and they did nothing, they replied asking me if I had it stored for many days and no, I had just removed it from your disgusting pastry. Scammers

Black Velvet Sydney: what do users think?
Hima A: Delivery was on point, cake looked amazing , however it did not tast that great and was dry , way too expensive as per the taste..
Himanshu Vaswani: Really bad cakes, no balance of flavor
Anthony D: Last year I got to experience their vegan chocolate cake at a birthday, and I was stoked how delicious it was. Fast forward 2 weeks ago, I wanted the same cake for my birthday, and sadly something wasn’t right. It was dry in places, tough like a brick. Almost as though it was stale. Sadly, it was definitely not the cake I experienced at that birthday last year. Normally this bakery has a stellar reputation. Bought a couple cupcakes same day. Perfection! I bought a lemon cake, last year. Awesome! But this one, I wish I saved my $125.
Louisa Jensen: I just wanted to say a huge thank you for my husband's 40th birthday cakeIt was incredible!Amazing serviceThe delivery went seamlesslySuch a positive experienceI'll certainly be recommending Black Velvet Sydney to my friends and family
Monika shiva: Perfect 👌😃 delicious and moist 🤤😋. Cake looks same as they shown in the website.
Anna Brooks: Black Velvet give fabulous cake. My daughter loved the creation the team came up with for her Birthday: Not only was it spectacular to look at, it was delicious to eat.

Eliza Martin: Some of the best in the business!! I’ve ordered with Black Velvet a few times now and I am never disappointed. Mouth-watering, beautiful cakes and incredible and reliable customer service! Thanks BV Team!!!
David Heather: Bought a Gone Fishing cake for an 80th birthday cake. The ordering process was simple, delivery was in the 2 hour window specified on a Sunday morning, the cake was exactly the same as the website photos and the cake tasted as good as it looked. Well definitely use Black Velvet again for future celebration cakes.
Natalie Popovic: I have ordered cakes and cupcakes from black velvet cakes many times and they are always exceptional. The service is amazing and I couldn’t recommend this company more.
Bev Crombie: We were delighted with the cake we ordered from Black Velvet for a special birthday. It looked superb and tasted delicious. The online ordering was hassle free and communication by text was answered promptly and helpful. If one is looking for a special occasion cake or cupcakes Black Velvet is the way to go.
Karli Stewart: Black Velvet cakes ALWAYS go down an absolute treat whenever I bring them to an event. I recently made a mistake with my order and realised at the final hour. The team provided excellent customer service and amended my error immediately. Will always recommend this business.
Amelia: I got the salted caramel from Black Velvet Cakes for my birthday - it was beautiful and tasted delicious. Highly recommend.
samantha green: Amazing cake for my daughters 30th Birthday. They couldn’t have done enough for me. Thank you for making my daughters 30th so special. Excellent service. Sam xx
Stuart Clowes: Same day delivery done! I left it to the last day, but the receiver got it on time. And such an impressive cake too. They were surprised, happy, and I looked like a hero. It was easy and fast to set up. Thanks!
Julie Balmer: Thank you for the delicious mini cupcakes for our event. They were very popular with the attendees and the Star Wars theming was fabulous. We will definitely order from you again.
Melissa Murray: The cake and cupcakes from Black Velvet for my son's Spiderman birthday were fantastic. They allowed us to customise/swap the colours to suit our theme. Delivery was on time and the cake (lemon) tasted amazing!! Highly recommend.
Pixie Paris: Cupcakes were fantastic. really yummy, as shown in the photos and delivered on time. Rave reviews all round.
Marcello Dambra: We have used Black Velvet twice now after being recommended to use them. Definitely have not been disappointed. Their cakes are delicious and very elegantly presented. Their vegan cake is amazing!!! Definitely could not tell it was vegan. Highly recommended….
Andrew Miller: Amazing selection of cakes, cupcakes and mini cupcakes. The staff are super friendly when ordering and the delivery process was smooth. Updates sent to your phone when they are on their way. Definitely worth it! Ive bought birthday cakes, Christmas themed cakes, wear it purple, Melbourne cup and Easter themed cakes.
Onai Bikishoni: The cakes were wonderful, they looked good and tasted good too. The service was courteous from concept to delivery. Will be ordering from black velvet again in the future

LiLiLi: Very delicious! I’ll buy one again tomorrow
Alexx Hermánn: Going to Black Star since a few months. I have been always treated very well and staff is very nice. Coffee also is good but a little pricey for me.I recommend this place tho, 5 stars for quality.
Liana Porihis: If only the quality of the customer service matched the price of the sweets. The whole experience was lacklustre and was definitely not worth walking through the door. The people there couldn’t care less for your business. You’d be much better off going to one of the many other wonderful (and less expensive) shops in newtown. If you’re still reading I’ll paint a picture. Imagine walking in with excitement to try some delicious sweets, only to get to the counter and be ignored, even though you’re the only customer there. You then want to decide what delectable dessert you’ll buy, but the person serving you huffs and puffs because they have to take you through the different flavors. You leave to try and enjoy your sweet in the park, only to realise you don’t have any cutlery to eat it with. 5-star definitely not.If it annoys you to serve the customer, label the cakes. If you can’t be bothered telling the customer where the cutlery is, just throw it in the bag. The visit is definitely not worth it.

Paige Cockburn: Worst coffee in about 10 years.
Belinda Dean: Wow wow wow! The ham and cheese croissants! The tomato relish! The perfect coffee! The awesome new space and scenery! I’m a lover of the traditional but Black Star Pastry clearly know what they are doing! Looking forward to Many Many more visits! A huge applause to the great friendly smiley team!

Georgia K: Watermelon cake and chocolate cake slices tasted great!Thankyou
Kim A.: Tried the famous strawberry watermelon cake. It lived up to the hype for sure. We also tried the lemon pistachio cake. It was the right balance of sweet and sour.BUT… the customer service here is horrible. Firstly, there are limited seats - 8 bar stools to be exact. We asked the staff for help as we were holding 2 plates and a drink. We needed a seat and there were customers who had already finished their food and drinks. They refused to help and ignored our request. So, we had to stand right in front of the cake / pastry display in the corner to eat. It was so frustrating as we were blocking incoming patrons. After we finished, we wanted to order a ham and cheese croissant to go. We saw a staff placing it on a tray and was about to wrap it. WE KNEW THAT they still had it but refused to serve it as it was 30 mins to closing time.IN SHORT, HORRIBLE SERVICE, NICE CAKE BUT NOT WORTH THE EXPERIENCE AND WE WON’T BE COMING BACK.
Thi Bao An Duong (Ruth Duong): Watermelon cake is all time favvvvvFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Luis Angelo Santos: Sarap ng strawberry watermelon cake. Hindi masyadong matamis
Jasmine Kim: Everything is delicious but it is definitely more on the pricier side compared to other dessert/cafe places
Charles Sunderland: Their prices are now ridiculous. I would rather just go to azuki up the road instead.

Sarah Gauci: We had our wedding cakes from Andy Bowdy... They were amazing! Our guests were raving about how good they were!!
Alex Clausen: I was like a kid in a candy store when I visited the store (and had a very tasty sandwich and coffee). It really was difficult choosing which sweet treats to take with me - if only I had a bottomless stomach. We were fortunate to also have our wedding cake made and it did not disappoint, so unique pretty and the flavours were amazing.
dipti karade: I ordered Tony cake for my daughter’s 2nd Birthday. It is one of the best cakes I ever had. So delicious! All guests loved it and kept asking where it was ordered from. The cake made the celebration even more special and I will definitely be ordering all cakes in future from andy bowdy!

Raymond Feng: For me the blueberry cheesecake doesn't live up to the high expectation from the 4.9 star 1000+ reviews. (still kurtosh good tho) But OMG to the macaron, its a must try!
Santiago Mesa Arias: Amazing cake thank you so much! Not only was delicious and fresh but the communication of the customer service and delivery driver was on point. The wife loves the chocolates and the cake is now her favourite too. Delivery was perfect so absolutely no complaints about the service, quality or price. Looking forward to the next time I order ;-) Well done team.

Bob Lee: Love the Ferrero Roche cake and those black pearls makes it extra special

Jennifer KILROY: The cake is so smallI bought the Ferrero Rocher cake and the cake is half the size of what it used to be I am very disappointed at your serviceI have had at least 2 of these cakes beforedefinitely not the size for 14 peoplemore like for 8 people the cake is smaller the box and you are charging the same price disgusting.I order for convenience as it's for my Son's Birthday now and have to go out and buy another cake .$85 worth of misery.
param khara: This is the 2nd time I have ordered the mud cake for my wife. She absolutely loves it!!! Also their delivery driver Craig was also kind enough to drop the cake a bit earlier than my delivery time as I had to leave the house during my assigned delivery time. Cake looks really good, tastes even better and the delivery was spot on. Unfortunately can't give more than 5stars 🙂
Joumana Nizam: The team at Looma’s has never missed a beat! Always fresh and always tasty! Highly recommend!
Jordan El Hassan: Purchased a Gluten Free cake for a family member, everyone said one of the best GF ones they have had

Banksia Bakehouse: what do users think?
Tracy Mok: Nice pastry. Flakey pie pastry 👍 Good pies. The swirl .. umm.. like the chestnut on the top but not so sure about the Mandarin flavour inside.
Johnny (jman): Banksia is a very very dangerous place, once you try there desserts and patisserie it becomes an addiction to keep going back. Not only are they super delicious, you’re going to become super broke as well. Banksia bakery originally started out in Banksia and now they have opened their second shop at Grosvenor Place which is between Wynyard and Circular Quay. My first impressions of Banksia is their amazing cake display, they sell an array of cakes from small to large, macarons of different flavours, lots of delicious desserts, scones and a huge selection of bakery goods for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. There’s just too much to try and that’s why it will make you go back again and again. Banksia sell the grounds coffee, but the coffee isn’t great so if your a picky coffee person go to your favourite place instead, after all it’s a bakery they don’t specialise in coffee. Their packaging is very nice as well using quality materials, catchy colours and large fonts on takeaway bags, cake boxes and loyalty coffee cards. There cakes, desserts, bakery foods are not cheap. To give you an approximate idea, buy any dessert or baked product plus a coffee, you’re already walking out the door spending almost $20. If you go there daily that’s 100 bucks!Overall Banksia has developed their brand as well as reputation. Their patisserie and desserts is a joy to eat and I guess worthy of the price.Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
claire: This is literally so good! Mushroom danish was so tasty!
Eleonora Contini: The cream danish was good, the swirl was average (maybe if served warm it would’ve been more enjoyable), and the coffee is alright. It’s ok to sit here but it’s a business district, so it’s kind of quiet. Entrance is on Essex Street.
suzi3352: Delicious scones , will come back to try the other pastries
Supaphon Surinruk: ขนมอร่อยมากๆ กาแฟดีค่ะ
SEKAI: perfect😍🍰
Dee: Came across this place on Insta, had to give it a try.It was amazing and definitely didn’t disappoint, absolutely loved it.Coffee was lovely also
Vivian: That matcha cheese cake 🏻 🏻 🏻
Navin R: The almond croissants are great, brownies are okay, and the coffee is not bad. It’s a nice place to sit especially with the way it opens out to the fountains. We initially thought it was closed when approaching from Essex street (see pic) but it’s not.
Tracey Huang: Yum and reasonable price! Try it out~
Fit N Fearless By Nicola: Almond crossaint to die for. One of the best I have had, and I don’t think I could find a cinnamon scroll that will ever top the one I got here
Nathanan J: Delicious and good service
flip side: Delicious snacks, fresh ingredients and rich taste. The chai tea latte was amazing. Great service as well.
Ng Wan yin: We tried smoked mushroom potatos danish and chocolate caramel danish. Both were very delicious, especially the chocolate caramel danish👍👍👍 Price was very reasonable. We would definitely recommed this to others!
juana yuet-mene: Délicieuses pâtisseries!j ai adoré!
Jeremy Grunfeld: Got a chocolate chip cookie warmed up and it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever eaten. Was certain I was just going to have a few bites, next second the entire thing was gone. Highly recommend!
Linh Nguyen: I normally go here every fortnight to bring back one of their seasonal/month specials for my significant other. Every time she's had a blast trying something new and different never being disappointed.Decided to go here for break the other day, nothing beats having their stuff fresh! I'd definitely recommend the pie here, it's nothing short of amazing.
paolo ro: Best danish and croix ever ! Well done
Alex Chen: Pastry is baked onsite and not from a distribution centre! The fig Danish was refreshing and well balanced.Pastry crispy, buttery and well layered.
Nydia L: So yummy! The pastries, cakes, pies are fresh baked in house. I am not a pie person, but I like their pies!Ube coconut sago cube is a must try!

Flour and Stone: what do users think?
dontwaitdate: Probably better to have the many, many pastries as a takeaway instead of eating in because a) you can be as greedy as possible (be very greedy. get the pies and the pastries. you’re welcome); b) there is a sitting area but that has limited selection. Been there a few times and too many options to choose from. Luckily, can’t really go wrong with anything.
Guy van Bergen: Best croissants in Sydney I've tried so far, and I'm veeery picky. Friendly staff as well!
G Okeef: Lovely staff, excellent baked goods and sandwiches. Will definitely revisit
Andy Wang: What an amazing place to grab pastries. You can choose to sit down and have some at the Pantry, or go two doors down for takeaway at the Annexe. There are some of the most friendly folks there to help. And of course everything is good.
Percy Andrews: It’s the spot for celebration cakes. Must order the black forest, almond rocher or family chocolate.
Veena Chandar: My favourite bakery in Sydney. Everything hits 10/10. What a treat every time.
Michelle Wells: Amazing … the pistachio and streusel bun … the sausages rolls …. So so so good
Eleanore Wells: Beautiful and tasty lamingtons and Anzac cookies.
irene fernandez: Overpriced and overvalued, what can go wrong?$8.60 a croissant is an aberrant price for any croissant, but specially for one so average as the one I have had today in Flour & stone.
Alexandra Vargas: Really cute little coffee. As a French I really think they make good pastries, I was craving for that quality.
Catherine Porquier: Delicious pastries, cakes and gingerbread biscuits.
Bianca Joy Polloso: Came here 2x just to try the Lamington cake (Monday morning they didn’t have it) but it was just okay. We loved the coffee and cinnamon roll though, they were delicious!
Michele: Best almond cornetto since I moved to Australia 12 years ago!
Stephen Mitchell: Never any food available
Guy Preston: Very nice panacotta Lamington, albeit expensive. The service is slow so there are always long queues. Recommend preordering
Lilian N L: Enjoyed the 🍅 tomato galette, pear/quince brown butter tart. Looking forward to try my birthday cake (hazelnut torte) today!
Abigail Gray: Had a lovely pie here for a late lunch - a beef rendang pie and I added the tomato chutney too for $1 extra. Staff were lovely and the place had a decent amount of seating for it being so small. Slightly pricey for what it is but still nice!
Luke McCann: Negligible attempt to accommodate celiac customers on the menu, we were also told (rather abrubtly) that it was not possible to make even the slightest of adjustments to their fixed menu (e.g. adding avocado to boiled eggs on toast).I guess we'll just go to the 500 or so other Sydney cafes that make an effort to accommodate everyone.
freddy ferreira: Loved their cakes….. I will go back again. I want to buy the traveling cake for my birthday !
Isabel Gomez: Incredible pastries
J P: The best butter croissant I've had in Sydney — perhaps the best I've had in all of Australia. But $8.50? That's a bit hard to stomach. Anything north of $6 feels like an insult, to be honest.

Textbook Boulangerie Patisserie: what do users think?
Peter Gleadall: Loved Textbook but they have now closed.
Tasmia Rahman: Loved their pie and the desserts are too good!
Rodolfo “Jun” Herrera: Different but good. If you are the kind of person that wants to try a different variety or types of unusual cakes, this is your hangout or to go shop. Overall we enjoyed it 👍👍👍
elaina heng: Really tasty cakes
Daniel Csillag: Really lovely cakes, a little pricy for what you get
KEVIN DAVIES: maybe it's the post-covid situation: some variety of things, pleasant enough, atmoshphere isn't anything special, with operational stuff stashed around the interior;beyond pastries there are pies, sauage rolls
Susan A: Oh mannnn! I have wanted to check this place out in like forever!! 😄 My expectations were too high for an overall experience. Don't get me wrong, the pastries and cakes looked and tasted great. Btw, Must try 'Hot Cross 'bun' Coissant" 🤤🤤 we also tried the creme brulee, orange and pash, and mixed berry danishes.I think where it lacks is the customer service and the ambience of the place, to make it a really good experience, it could be so much more. The man himself was there that day, and it would've been nice to get a friendly gesture to acknowledge that customers are here to purchase your delicious creations, a smile, a wave, a hello...something?! It just felt cold and as though we were intruding in your space... See, overall experience ...mehh, pastries 👍
Tamer Zyadah: Rude staff. Limited choices available. Not like the pictures. Low quality coffee and pastries. I don't recommend it.
Chris: Absolutely amazing place! Hands down best pastries! The bread is insanely addictive! All of the cake are Amazing! Wonderful service .
David Frew: Bought some pastries for my wife's birthday - absolutely stunning. I also had the lamb sausage roll and found it mouthwateringly delicious. Best plain and almond croissants I've had in Sydney for some time, strong recommendation.
Alex Lee: Dry croissants, where’s the butter?
Merv: Over hyped croissants!
Marie Danael Paris: The pandan coconut croissant was good but not worth $12.50. I expected more for that price.
Sharron X: I would say their strengths are the mousse cakes, which are beautiful to look at and tasty with creative flavour combinations. On the other hand, have had a few of their croissants and danishes and find them to be on the dry and bready side, not crispy/buttery.
Dhanush D R: Ordered chocolate coffee mocha today for a birthday and it was delicious. I was a bit hesitant after seeing reviews but still decided to go based on website and how the cake looked, it didn’t disappoint. It was just the perfect texture, chocolate and the coffee complimented very well. Taught me a lesson not to take reviews for granted!
Fonty Fole: I have been wanting to come here for a while! Love the open kitchen set up, you see pastry chefs making dough gives the place a nice atmosphere. The sourdoughs were placed on the walls which was cool! There was an overwhelming selection but we only got the cherry danish and teas to go. The pastry had soften and the cherries were neither sweet or sour. Overall was not a very memorable snack to go.
Elizabeth McKinnon: Always amazing service and incredibly tasty treats. Thrilled to be able to call this place my local!
oneonefour11 Pirrama: Cakes has lot of effort on some but you might want to put some more effort and imagination into itChanging colours alone don’t make great bakingThe mandarin and tea flavour was a good idea but the texture was disappointingYour pies ….. well they were all burnt on top and literally empty insideTasted just average for near $10/ pie I’d put in some content fastThis is my honest review as I was expecting better since last visitYes , your counter staff or staff in general looks like they are all in pain and sufferingNot a good look !
Jen Or: Delicious pastries and cakes. They also offer weekend specials. Just go in and don't think about your diet.
Denise (Dee): Its pretty, but the taste is disappointing for the price point, (can't smell, see or taste the truffle in the trufflecake, just tastes like very sweet pear cake. ) as is the lack of enthusiasm in service.
Juan LB: Absolutely delicious - Très delicieux -
