Dymocks Cafe: what do users think?
Katja Heath: Great food, lovely atmosphere. I tried syrniki, they melted in my mouth!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
marina sokol: Definitely the best food in town! Substantial portions, great variety and beautiful presentation! Dymovsky Cafe is a hidden gem conveniently located above Dymocks Book Store!
Rana S B: Place is good for Study/work with quite area to do some good reading. However hosts are a bit rude which made it very unpleasant to stay.I asked politely if they serve a Cortado coffee. She Replied with a really annoying tone: WHAT IS THAT? Go and sit in the table! My dear, lack of knowledge doesn’t mean you have to be rude.Sorry but never again for me.
Olga Lenkova: Heartily recommend for Borsch!!! Rally yummy vegetarian version. Served with sour cream and bread. Perfect lunch.Идеальный борщ! И на моё везение вегетарианский. Очень-очень вкусно. Украинским поварам дякую 💙💛В меню есть ещё пирожки и сырники.
Connie Hu: Almost all the waitresses’ faces are poker face. They look as if they are angry all the time. I just had a look at their reviews soooo many people are complaining about their customer service!
S!R: Lovely cafe! Nice ambiance and good service. Brings back pleasant memories!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Jamie Lee: Took 8 centuries to get us seated, still waiting in a line where we’ve been at the front for over 20 minutes. I’ve watched waiters look at us and ignore us with multiple seats open and not reserved. The only reason we are at the front of the line is because everyone before us left in anger. I think I will leave now thanks 🙏 😊 ❤️😘.
Dayle Gibson: 1kg - stale, pleaseI wake up this morning; it's 13?C. I know today will be a bad day.'Maybe I'll go out for a coffee. Dymocks was okay last time', I think to myself. As I approach Dymocks the air is still, it has an eerie quality to it. Perhaps a sign of what's to come. Business as usual.I order my coffee, the waitress is nice and the cafe looks busy. 'Maybe the coffee is okay'. Like calling Pulp Fiction a classic I was wrong.I waited for my coffee, I paid in full. I was always polite.I can't help but wonder: 'Do Cafes buy stale beans to save money?'
South Young: 💃🏼 DEVONSHIRE STYLE “Scone + Cream + Jam + Tea + Milk”, an absolute delight 🕺
Judy K: The chicken mushroom stroganoff did not have to pop off that hard… saucy served with creamy mashed potatoes SO GOOD… apple crepes were interested cuz they were fried which made the outside crispy, they were good but nothing special. Chai latte was really good albeit a bit too sweet, coffee was great. Ambience was cute, it was so busy too!
Kreng Arzy: Customer service is not good and quite slow. There is only one water area and staff will tell you to go all the way to the other side to go get some water yourself. Also order takers just chat and ignore you they are not very attentive on their customers
Beryl Sun: The food was good, but one of the waitresses was a little rude. When checking out she will keep asking for your table number but won't tell you where to look for the number.
Stanislava Porubcanova: Quaint location and delicious dishes from Europe. Highly recommend. Staff were lovely and helpful. Big thanks!
Molo Brown: We went to our friend's favourite place for lunch for her birthday, the Dymocks Cafe...Service is Great and the Food Superb. We didn't have to wait too long for a table.... I never understand why so many people here write awful reviews...we have been a few times and always had the best time. Yes the Cafe Area is narrow but you have a great view of all the books below. .This place has a high turnover of customers and wait staff have a hard job to do in the narrow walk way. They change their menu according to the seasons and always have options for Vegetarians....Vegetarian options: Great Borsch Soup, Love It.. Tasty and filling...
Won-Kyoung Choi: Dymocks 건물 2층에 위치한 까페입니다테이블에서 주문하면 되고 음료는 다 맛있었습니다
Jon M: Nice place to have food outside out of the cbd crowd. The food was impressively good and the service too.Recommended dishes …More
Aggelos Potiris: Dymocks Cafe is excellent. It has excellent food and it isn’t expensive. Also it has delicious crepes and waffles. All the food is brilliant. If you are in Sydney you should visit Dymocks Cafe.Vegetarian options: They have many vegan thingsKid-friendliness: It’s very good for kids. They have excellent crepes and waffles
Itta Gaufman: Great food, friendly atmosphere ,
S I: Amazing food and service!
Aleksandra Jamieson: Our favorite place for lunch! Beautiful food and high quality cooking! 5 star service. Thank you!Vegetarian options: Healthy options available.
M S: I have been coming here for a number of years. The food is consistently delicious and very beautifully presented. Even during busy times there are no shortcuts. The staff are friendly and attentive. When I have brought along friends and family they all agree.

Ampersand Cafe & Bookstore.: what do users think?
MỸ KIM PHẠM: Tuyệt vời không lời lẽ nào tả hết. Với một người yêu Book như tôi thì đây là thiên đường ❤️❤️❤️
Birria Bi: Not worth the visit- ordered a chai latte ($5.5) and french toast ($27). The french toast was so small it was literally one piece of toast, halved, with a some fruit around it for $30. Don’t even get me started on the chai latte….. it was the worst chai i’ve ever had and somehow tasted like water and piss simultaneously with the tea leaves at the bottom of the cup.My friend and I both ordered coffees which the waiter delivered with a “who ordered what”…. Could have just stated the drink names and waited for us to respond like every other polite service encounter. The cafe itself is cute but seriously overpriced and the furniture is falling apart.
Melina Douziech: Place is nice but coffee was not good and overpriced. Staff weren’t nice and very impatient also made us pay for Large when we asked for Small.
Clare: Lovely place for book lovers and non-book lovers! Great food and coffee, with decent enough service. Do feel free to sit upstairs / down the basement as it feels more “private”!
William Bostelaar: Waited 30 minutes for a takeaway coffee, the barista denied that he received my order and was pretty rude. Not bad coffee though.
nacho grasso: Amazing food and view.Claudia was so nice and professional, we ll come back ! :)
Jimmy “Blender Sushi Guy” Gunawan: I always wanted to walk in and try the coffee and read books here. Took me many years to brave myself to walk in. Today I ordered matcha latte and the blonde waitress with her mischievous look and pretty blue eyes serve me at the cashier. I browse for random books and old books are just so hard to read. The matcha is slightly too hot but nice after taste. I might try their coffee next time. The interior of this cafe is beautiful, and the architecture with old stairs and decorations are a sight to experience yourself. I will have to come back and revise this review.
David Nicolau: Very pretty location and cafe if you can get a seat in the library. Food was quite pricey but very tasty. The French toast was delicious. Service wasn’t the best I’ve had but they were quite nice.
Jonathan Clancy: Person taking out order was an absolute zombie, rude and completely uninterested. The lady the had to help her was nice at least. Completely overpriced meals (changing our order from poached egg to scrambled added $8 which is absolutely pathetic). The sourdough bread option is $25!! for 1 slice. Last time we were here the poached egg yolk was similar to a hard boiled egg.To be fair the coffee was decent and the bookstore store itself is nice.If you come here, just grab a coffee and enjoy the space but don’t bother with food.
David Ivanovski: Health kick juice, so small. For $9.50, it’s not worth it. Almost half of it was ice. I was expecting more juice for that price.Coffees both tasted nice, so can’t complain. Feel ripped off to pay $22 all up as I walk away.Rap music inside was loud, and just didn’t suit the place at all. Was a very weird atmosphere. Staff need to learn to smile, both seemed like they didn’t want to be there at all.
Electra Szmukler: A stunning space and lovely food and drink. Honestly would just come here for the atmosphere and the books. 10/10
Alice Schacher: Nice atmosphere, expensive coffee, good salad.
J C (jcmf.photography): I managed to squeeze precious time to have lunch out instead of at my desk. They took the wrong order despite me specifically asking if the pappardelle would take long. Disappointingly, and being not one to waste food, I had the sandwich that was served. It was just so-so and not worth the 25.25 that I paid for it. It was then when I realised the prices on their website and printed menu (sandwich was $23 on menu) are according to their staff, not updated. In Australia, I'm pretty sure you are meant to charge at your listed prices, hence the 1 star
Veronika Dolgushina: This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Paddington as it is cozy and atmospheric. It looks like an old house or a library, where you are surrounded with hundreds of books 📚 I love a cup of coffee with a cake or breakfast there. The staff is great- friendly and caring.
Sid Rev: 3 or 3.5 star overall.Atmosphere was nice on the main floor (airy with two sides of the walls are opened with 3 tables). Upstairs is nice as well. Furnitures are worn and wobbly and are in need some care. If you have allergy or sensitivity to mould, do not go down to the basement level. It is musty damp and does smell of mould. Green moss growing on the wall.Servers were nice overall. The person taking the order didn't know the items on the menu well enough. Maybe she was new.Food was close to home cooked meal. Chai was not sweet at all and had a dominant clove flavour. The ricotta cake with fruits was interesting. A small piece of dence bread served with pear, figs, blueberries and strawberries. Other than the decorative powder sugar, nothing on that plate was artificially overly sweet.
Michael: I generally like this place, but I found the Eggs Benedict with salmon unreasonably expensive. Also they do not have decaf coffee.
Hannah Beder: Recommended dishes Haloumi SandwichMore
Taylor Deer: I came to Ampersand to WFH and was highly disappointed. There were no plugin outlets, WiFi was weak... I found out about it through a digital nomad and it was nothing that I thought it was. The place is charming and beverages are great, but not a place you go to if you're planning to get work done.
Maryam Hashemi: Low food quality. I ordered a banana smoothie and pasta. Smoothie was warm and too watery. The pasta didn't taste good or fresh. Found cockroaches in the basement. However, the book theme was really gorgeous and relaxing.
Tom H: Worst customer service ever. Shame....we will never go back there, coz of their attitude. They just didn't want to be there at allService: 5/1|Atmosphere: 5/3 …More
Ania: This is the first bad review I ever made but I just payed over $7 for oat coffee with honey, the most expensive coffee in Sydney I ever had! I had to wait long so at the end I did not have time to enjoy it and had to rush. Friendly service and cozy place but won't be back.

Cafe Hernandez.: what do users think?
Julio Clavijo: I live in Melbourne but every time I come to Sydney I go to Hernandez cafe and eat also have my Spanish cafe ( the is a lot coffee shop on the way ? )
Chris BM: The world famous, the amazing, the strongest and best coffee and risk European vibeEdit: It's closed now. Thanks for the great memories and the just amazing dark cigar-like coffee
Yasmine Othman: The Best Coffee In town! And I mean it!
Will: Very good espresso.
jo lai: Love the atmosphere there!
Jennifer C: Cute little cafe. Feels like you are in Europe. Thick hot chocolate was delicious and churros were fantastic - Fresh hot and crispy on the outside with a generous coating of sugar and soft on the inside (so much better than san churros!) 2 hot chocolates and 4 churros for $20Let us know when horchata is back on the menu!
Micheal Norford: Best coffee and they roast their own beans you can get your own special blend 😋 👍❤
Andy Lucinda: Like a few places around the area they roast their beans on site and there is a lovely old world charm about this place that is a serenade to the history of this almost 50 year old institution.
Anna Osipova: Lovely place and the best hot chocolate I've tried in Sydney so far! 😊☕️
Yasmina Zemmouri-garcia: Very charming bohemian coffee shop where you can buy your own freshly roasted coffee beans on site as well as enjoying a cupa of the house blend or a choice of different origins, coffee is excellent! Must try the Spanish omelette!
Rosa Jerez: Cafe Hernandez is an institution. The coffee is freshly roasted in house in an artisan machine. The place to buy coffee beans to take home and to have a coffee inside and enjoy the wall-to-ceiling work of arts.
Tara R: I went in a couple of weeks ago on a Sundsy with my boyfriend. As I can’t drink coffee and lactose intolerant. I ordered a decaf almond flat white which was actually undrinkable. My boyfriend has just told me the guy who was working was offended I ordered decaf & told him. That is the worst customer service I have ever heard. When a customer wants something customer service is that is is provided. How disgusting this is and I will make sure the people I know who live in the area do not go into your cafe of which I know a few!
Chloe Belani: Fantastic coffee and amazing service, atmosphere is fantastic also. Like stepping into another world
Kelvin Kay: Amazing breakie. Loved the Churro and got an extra on the house, totally satisfied!
Peter Shephard: I love the experience. The meatballs are to die for.

Two Good Eggs Cafe: what do users think?
Y T: Comfortable atmosphere, kind staff, and decent meals to start a day.9時ごろ朝ごはんに行きましたがテーブルも座れたしゆっくり出来ました、お店の方もとても親切で居心地めっちゃ良いです!
Nicole Steele: Cosy little cafe with great service, yummy food, affordable prices and amazing hot chocolate!Drink sizes could be a bit bigger but otherwise great placeWheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. Have to walk up stairs into the cafe

cafe felix sydney: what do users think?
Ollie Hunt: Probably a good thing they are closingI don't usually tend to write negative reviews, but I was thoroughly disappointed by this cafe, especially compared to others in NewtownThe "pancakes" for $18 was instead a singular, burnt piece of fried, mushed up banana, with a scoop of ice cream and a couple sour blueberries. Couldn't finishOther items were alright, but for the price you're better off going somewhere such as cafe martini down the road.
Victoria Butt: Disappointing. The service and staff were the nicest part of the experience. Was quite shocked that the quality of food was so plain and tasteless, especially for Newtown. Will not return
Terry Lord: Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/4More
Sandeep patel: The mashroom burger was nice. Service was slow even though the order was given few hours in advance.
Jenny Warburton: Good food, great coffee, lively staff.
Annie Jarjoura: Do a great bacon avco roll . Plants inside open . And relaxing and wifi
Mike N: Loved the vibe there, coffee and food was good. Walkable from USyd
Etienne Petrel: Our coffees ended up at a different table, same for our food while the place was pretty empty. The barcode was also still present on the slice of lemon that came with the food. Those are things that can be easily improved and would make the experience much better!
Steve Melissa Grantham: So, I've been twice now and both times the coffee tasted pretty good. But the Sunday morning shamozzle (prolly two zeds) that greeted me this morning was both disappointing and hilarious. Coffees lost, orders sent to wrong tables, extra wait times and great confusion. One star off! A busy cafe off King Street that draws a good sized crowd, both from the Newtown hipster set and the unwell plus their carers (I have been at one point or other in my life a part of all three subsets ☺️). Discount offered to Ambos, nurses, students which is a nice touch. Neat, welcoming - staff are friendly and attentive if perhaps lacking in odd senses of humour. Is tragic the walls are lined with individual patrons seated at tables for two, keeping to themselves or playing on their laptops and not talking to each other. Wifi is just that good and has a lot to answer for. So, the coffee was pretty good, rates better than the milky soup I get in other...ahem.... parts of Sydney. The courtyard out the back is pretty quiet, and the umbrellas provide pretty good shade from a reasonability of rain. Good place to come and have a chat with good friends.
John Roberts: Great service, menu and location
Tom Blakey: Chaos.Picked up an order, it was left on the side congealing while I was left waiting for an eternity. Useless Barista #1 totally forgot I was there (despite being stood directly in front of her) while Useless Baristas #2 & #3 stood looking bewildered at the till screen.Would 100% recommend if you're into waiting around and cold food.
Luke Heise: Coffee was terrible. Couldn’t finish it. Worst I’ve had in years. Do yourself a service and go to Campos next door.
Reginalva Tomazetti: Great Campos coffee and the best pastry (cherry and apricot danish are my absolute favourites)
Nicky Morgan: Ordered my food at 10.20am and did not receive it till 55mins later. We ordered 2x big breakfasts, French toast & fruit salad with yoghurt. It is Easter Sunday and apparently they are busy with majority of the tables empty. Poor service, wait staff was not even apologetic for the ridiculous wait time. Please do not waste your time or money. Appalling service.
anna pauline: Friendly service. Food pretty good
Marianne Polkinghorne: Lovely coffee, and lovely helpful staff.
Greg Gould: I ordered the simplest things on the menu expecting to get it fast. A cheese and ham croissant and a sausage and egg on bread. It took 45 minutes. The waiter even asked me if I had received my food when he was the one who took my order and was waiting the table. It wasn’t until 40 minutes had passed that he took the croissant off the counter to toast it. Slow and chaotic service for the most basic menu items. If I’d have known it was so bad I would have gone to the supermarket and toasted a croissant myself. Very unimpressed by Newtown standards.
Darren Rose: I have been here three times now and the staff have really tried to make sure I was comfortable each time. It has a really nice garden area out the back and feels like a little oasis in busy Newtown.
Louise Lowson: First time visit.Corn Fritters and Cuban Sandwich very yummy. Nice clean cafe with friendly staff and great service, will be back.
ST Hoogwout: Nice cafe in Newtown, friendly staff and delicious coffee!
Robin: Great experience all round.... highly recommend

Fountain Cafe: what do users think?
Antoine F: I would say its a best coffer so far. Very nice atmosphere to catch up with friends. Friendly staff.Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Ivan Duong: Good coffee, reasonably priced good.
I NYOMAN GEDE WEDA: went there just for takeaway coffee. staff not event say good morning. not saying anything even thank you. need improved customer service skill. 100% will not buying coffee here again. very bad 👎
Amen 徐继明: Great coffee using beans from Campos
joseph Lewthwaite: Coffee is great
Kate Mitchell: Friendly cafe with good coffee!
Rhys Travel: Nice spot for food. Definitely will be back. Reasonable flat white.
Adrian Denyer: Always good.High quality coffee and simple good quality food 👍
Santiago Quijano: Great Coffee and service! found coffee to be fresh and always on point.
Philippe Dancak: Great tasting, flavoursome coffee, so refreshing to come across a good brew and barista to go with it.
Matthew Stewart: Been meaning to buy some beans here for ages. Thanks !
John M: Pathetic. Shows open till 4pm. Came on a Saturday at 2:52 pm and told they were already closed.
Alanna (Alanna Banana): The staff at Fountain Cafe have A1 customer service and are a pleasure to speak with great conversation, special thanks and love goes out to Brad and Zac whom are absolutely beautiful people and are valuable to our community. And make the best coffee ☕️
Edwina Searle: Nice coffee, but this cafe discriminates against people in wheelchairs by only providing high tables and stools to sit on. When I mentioned this to one of the staff, he just shrugged.
Hoa Lim: Great coffee, great service and the ambience is lively and fun! My go to place!
Guy Evans: Consistently good coffee. Good service, friendly staff. Clean establishment. All good.
Paul V: Disappointing. Luke warm coffee and a toasted cheese & unripe tomato so hot it burnt my mouth and lips.
Paul Nguyen: Campos blend and single origin coffees, masterful baristas who are well calibrated and constantly pumping out some of the best espresso around.
Daniel Beeby: The arrogance of the baristas at this cafe is astonishing. I have a single group La Marzocco Linea at home (the same machine they have in store) and occasionally buy ground beans from here, yes I know I should have my own grinder considering my coffee machine, but I just haven’t bought one yet. Every time I ask for ground beans and explain my home setup I get looked at like I’m lying, or don’t understand and end up being told I need a grind for a domestic espresso machine, which is ultimately far, far too corse, producing terrible coffee and being unusable (yes I understand grind can change daily / hourly etc, but you can get it 95% there). If a customer tells you they want something, maybe you should just provide it? And if you don’t believe them, it wouldn’t hurt to ask a few more questions instead of rolling your eyes and thinking you know best
B S: Wow, what a disappointment! Why is it that cafe's stocking Campos can make better coffee than their own HQ? The same issue used to be present in their Fortitude Valley HQ in Brisbane. Please Campos, keep checking the output from your HQ baristas.
Wilhelm Eek: I used to frequent this cafe, but new management has seen to a noticeable decline in quality of product and service.Still come to buy beans, but only if I'm certain the patronising manager isn't there.

Staff is friendly and approachable, as soon as you came in the staff will provide mint-infused water for your table while letting you decide on their menus and advised to order and pay at the counter whenever we’re ready. The latte is at the right temperature while their cold brew tastes quite deep and full bodied.

Rhys Travel: Very good flat white. Friendly service.

Mark S: Perhaps the best coffee in Newtown, and considering how many coffee shops there are, that's really saying something. Staff are very friendly and always polite. I live at the other end of King St. but it's always worth the walk.
Yen Tand: Friendly service, great iced coffee and delicious crumbed prawn burger! Tried their chips and they're great also, chunky and well fried.

Kylah Latimer: Most comforting cafe ! Amazing sandwiches ! Perfect açai ! Best place to unwind on a Sunday - thank you guys
O Williams: Look, this place isn't too awful, but I came today and it wasn't super overrun but it took 20 minutes for our coffees to arrive 🤷🏻 And the avocado toast for $8 which sounds cheap, was quite underwhelming and poor value in portion and flavour. Coffee was watery, and unfortunately below a good standard. The texture was nowhere near as creamy as one would expect from a well attended cafe in Surry Hills. Also the music was unfortunately very unhip and surprisingly predictable and boring pop. I swear there must've been a constant order of smoothies today, because it was so noisy from the blender that me and my friend could barely hear each other over the noise. I won't be running back to this place...
