Dendy Cinemas Newtown: what do users think?
Alex Barthel: Great cinema
Statler Willand: Dendy Newtown really reminds me of the classic neighbourhood movie theatres I grew up going to. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s got everything you need and generally isn’t super busy like the big cinemas. Let’s hope this one doesn’t close down because that would be terrible for the community. I’m sure I’ll be back again soon!
Nachoso Martinez: You can enjoy a glass of wine watching the movie!
Crosley Carpenter: Two films in 2 days, both very good experiences. Pleasant, efficient service. The cinema generally looks to be well kept, the seats in Cinema 10 were very comfortable and looked and felt brand new. Generously proportioned Choc Top one day, Coffee the next, both excellent. Plenty of pricing options, great range of films, if I lived nearby I’d be there every day.
Holly Askins: Pay $25 a ticket plus a $7 booking fee and there's never any toilet roll in the ladies toilets. Every single time.
Kerry Stark: Great movie theatre
haze555ful: I really like Dendy but the decision to go cashless is a massive hassle for those without credit or debit cards, especially older people, not to mention those wishing to maintain their privacy.
Arthur Charles Harrison: Overpriced & seedy.. charmless till operator .. pensioner adult ice cream, just shy 50 bucks..
dean mcdonald: Great facility. The lounge cinema extremely comfortable. Not the biggest or most modern but reminds me of the cinemas I grew up with so a bit nostalgic for me. Great experience. Tuesday has cheap tickets so plan your visit to save.
Didier S: Friendly staff, the cinema has a bar available.Seats a bit outdated and the cinema's room are quite small.Overall still a good experience to recommend
Michelle Cowell: Best burger I've ever eaten 👍👍👍
Ashley Martin: Apologies in advance if I misspelled both your beautiful names but I wanted to share the best customer service experience from both Celina and Josie.Happy and bubbly personalities who were warm, welcoming and kind. This was my first time at Dendy Newtown at it was such a great experience. Thanks ladies! 💕
Amanda Carr: The Dendy is my home just about! I’ve seen so many great movies there and moreover I’ve made great friends there which means I have a range of movies to choose from , depending which friend comes with me!
Juan Simon Linares Oropeza: Good viewing but no large screen
Giulia: Lovely cinema
Marlene Turner: Great local cinema with reasonable prices!
Anne: Great value, especially with reasonably priced membership. Coffee and choc tops v good, worth my 1-2 visits each week.
Warren Kevin: It is one of my favourite cinemas which have friendly staff. The movies on offer are always varied, and not only the so-called blockbusters. I always chose Dendy Newtown before any of the other cinema chains.
One_Person Smiley Face: I dont know what demographic of people are coming here but the other day my friend and i went to see the new super Mario bros movie, we thought oh this isn't gonna be more than $30 for both of us… $48 FOR 2 TICKETS IN A STANDARD CINEMA that’s absolutely ridiculous and the cinema wasn't even that great compared to the usual reading cinemas we go to, the seats were hard and uncomfortable and the screen was so high up i had a sore stiff nick coming out of the film. The staff were nice sure but that doesn't mean you can charge your customers $24 per person for a standard ticket, i feel bad for all of the families who have to come here just to see a movie.
AE: 2 stars because I have had a pleasant experience in the past, though being honest quite some time ago. Current Manager and staff would prefer to chat to each other and critique customers than serve them at the bar or counter with ticket sales. It’s a shame because the big screen is under immense pressure from streaming services left right - how can a business hire goons like this that have no idea? Cleary senior management are not accross the details, as you only need to go next door to either Thai or Italian restaurants or bookstores for that matter to receive a little respect as a customer and good old fashioned customer service!Furthermore-the cinema was probably 1/20 full….
Glenn Caward: Enjoyed my time here, just extremely disappointed this venue has joined the slippery slope of a cashless society. Bring back cash and I'll bring more stars

Palace Chauvel Cinema: what do users think?
christine a: True old style cinema
Engine Spa: Saw a German film there. The cinema was good, sound good and it was very well visited for a Wednesday evening. I was even very surprised that a medium pop corn was only $9. I believe that is cheaper than Hoyts.
kieran daughton: Great old cinema which sometimes plays cult classics
No way myself: I never miss the International Film Festivals at Palace Cinemas!
Richard Yao: Great art deco architecture, though feels a bit run down with limited staff. The male usher with an aviator spec frame during my visit seemed professional and dedicated.
Benjamin Nham: Great cinema. Server named Joe was excellent. He was very helpful
Simon F: So nice
Eleonora Hakami: Old charm, great for private screening and film festival
Catrina Kerr: Run down, tawdry and smelly. Desperately needs a refurbish.
Julia Messner: Highly recommended
patrick clarke: The place is a disgrace, dirty, clearly falling apart and in desperate need of saving. The council who own the site should hang their heads in collective shame.
Andrea Pulati: Has it changed? Yesterday's visit was rather disappointing. Dodgy in every way, staff, seat signage, late start, etc. Very disappointing.
Turlough Guerin: It was great love the atmosphere
Ron Pettersson: Great place to see a movie. Love the atmosphere.
Fadhillah Norzahari: This place is a health hazard. Some of the seats were wet from the recent downpour with mould present in the main cinema.
Zoe Goldstein: Lovely old theatre, needs an upgrade!
Dennis McGivney: Very shabby and neglected. Could do with a good clean and makeover. Definitely not 4 stars.
Varun P Jose: Just watched a Persian film 'A Hero' visiting for the first time. Staff was super friendly and kind. Seats and the venue needs slight restoration work. Bathrooms are neat and clean. Lots of foreign films are showcased here.
Mary Molloy: Great art deco cinema, but needs some renovation work to bring it up to a better standard of comfort.
diana stojanovich: Lovely old cinema with fabulous movies and friendly staff. It is a shame the City of Sydney does not provide more funding for this beautiful heritage building
Christine Scott: Cheap Monday $10. Good. A bit shabby in appearance but good leg room in the theater.

Palace Cinemas: what do users think?
christopher potter: Newest and most comfortable cinema near Haymarket
Michael: Feels like a home cinema at above average prices. Seats were very uncomfortable and screen quality was also terrible.
Teresa Wilkinson: Palace Cinema is located in the Central Park Building on Broadway. Palace offers quality movies & plenty to choose from. The cinemas have easy access, plenty of room, & very comfortable adjustable seats. Staff are helpful & friendly, & there’s a good snack bar & bar. And you really, really have to try the Luxe Cinema 🥂. Palace Central offers great opportunities for shopping after the movie or exploring the incredible cafes & restaurants next to the Central Park building.
Wolff Iva: Enjoyment for movie conoseurs
Ross: Theatre small but ok - the movie- St Omer- appalling
A Lipp: Popcorn is amazing prices aren’t too bad! The seats are comfy but I wish they went back! Or I couldn’t figure out how to make them. Anyway, love to see movies here. Love that it’s not too big and crowded
Irene Joshy: Great experience
Bogart Quickness: If you're going to a regular cinema you're going to get scabies and lice along with dealing with the stench of a thousand unwashed buttcracks
Matt Klamm: Super comfortable seats
Michael Casey: Great cinema. Comfort in seating and legroom (188cm). Choc tops great. Full bar if you want. Will go again.
Amanda Carr: Excellent movie theatre, lovely staff and fantastic movies. It’s also easy to get to via bus or train depending where you liveand which Palace cinema you go to!
George Karystianis: Excellent pop corn and cool prices with their loyalty program! However, with the renovation bar is tiny and the air con inside the cinema is too much. You need a coat. Also the number of people who disrespect other patrons by talking, using phones and more has increased drastically that watching movies there becomes a bit tedious.
Lucy Robson: Always enjoy a film here, great cinema and enjoy the surroundings. Well worth signing up to the free membership.
Bill Koum: Front desk man was rude to me and my friends, he wasn’t hospitable and was quite bitter. He profiled us for our age and is not what I was expecting from a small expensive cinema. Go to event or hoyts.
Sprocket Diver: Is this not the BEST cinema in Sydney!?It's got the nicest seats. The cozy vibe. Lovely staff. Well worth it.
John H: A great place to see a film.
Olivia Lo: The theatre is pretty small and there’s trash between seats. However the price is very affordable, just 9 dollars for students.
Mylène Selosse: Great hidden little cinema in the CBD. Love going to there!
Katrina Fordham: Very comfy seats. And great size theatre. Not too crowded so it's easy to settle in and enjoy the movie without too much noise from other patrons.
Jack Crowther: Understaffed and not enough info about what's actually on. Then the film did not start on time. All in all, it wasn't an experience worth paying for.
Didier Balez: Nice seats

Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace: what do users think?
Gian Cuevas: When you're feeling nostalgic, this is the go-to place for retro movies. Awe-inspiring retro art deco and autograph-signed portraits of yesteryear celebrities. you might spot your fan favourite actors and actresses of the Golden Era. Watch out for 80s movie marathon featured once in a blue moon.
Damien Ferguson: So good to catch movies that arent in mainstream cinemas
Jennifer Rupert: Loved it. Wine by the plastic mug not that great though !
Helen Dowell: I do not agree with the Hayden's policy of "no cash accepted" for purchase of tickets and also at the confectionary bar. If cash is no longer accepted by business the Government should not allow banks to issue cash to their customers. Companies/business seem to be dictating their own rules as to how customers/patrons should pay for their poor/underrated service. Not impressed with my visit to the Hayden Orpheum.
Justine Acar: Saw Echoes of Pink Floyd Concert at Cremorne Orpheum. Brilliant, great live show, great sound.
Grey Eviltwin: Recently visited to see Metropolis. I love this theatre and the decor. Great sound and very comfy seats. What I didn't like was expensive wine in a cheap plastic cup.
Bronwyn Frazer: Fantastic venue. A great experience
Jakub “Captain” Marval: What a sick cinema 🍺🤞 PS: Asahi on Tap
A M Ong: My favourite cinema in Sydney.
David Gorr: Delightful venue!
Amy Bell: Amazing venue. Super helpful staff
Mark Butler: Brilliant Art Deco cinema that has mainstream and foreign films. Friendly staff and often gets very busy with locals on weekends. Some screens are smaller than the major cinemas but still quality picture and sound. I took my friend to the Orpheum as he's never been before and he loved it. Worth visiting even if it is a long way from your local cinema.
득득: 오래되고 예쁜 영화관, 그리고 친절한 직원.그러나 영화 사이의 시간이 너무 길어서 영화를 볼수 없었다.
Jane Henderson: Lovely art deco cinema, good service & good snacks. Would recommend
Helen Steele: Great !
Angelita Zammit: Beautifully restored and fantastic staff. Easy parking and some great restaurants nearby.
Christine May: WOW!!!Like walking back in time,,, definitely worth travel time from Arncliffe
Peter Howie (Surveyor): Here for the Banff Mountain Film Festival. If you haven't booked yet make sure you do! Endless adrenalin and crazy adventures! Don't miss this!
Peter Howie: Here for the Banff Mountain Film Festival - this is going to be amazing!
Tayla Browne: Lovely, well kept place. Very expensive - $22 for a bottle of water and some nuts.
J LY: Coolest movie experiences here

Palace Norton Street: what do users think?
Alex Barthel: Great cinema!
GE Hunt: Normally enjoy coming to this cinema but today I find that place needs a good clean. The stairways are filthy with foot trodden blobs of chocolate.. inside the cinema I find the seats are all stained. Not a great look.
Tim Morrison: A hidden gem in Leichhardt,It's my local, Movie 🎬 Theatre ....
Farhad Sharifi: Great atmosphere
Somaye Esmaili: It is cozy and small, but reminds me of childhood, specially the smell😍Try icecream 😋The parking is not free though 🙄, better to park in the street.
Tony Heyward (Conscious Coffee): Elegant and comfortable theatre with an eclectic selection of films.
Luisa Franco: Love this cinema
Debra Moore: Always plenty of legroom in Palace cinemas, and very good prices for tix
Niki Vasiliadis: Luxury cinema all round. The bar and coffee are fantastic for pre or post movie chill. The popcorn is buttery. The cinema seats are comfy and the small armrest table is great for drinks. Cocktails are good. I love that the Palace cinemas host a lot of international film festivals, there is always a good variety of films to see. All round excellent cinema experience. The only thing that could be improved are the toilets, they were a little unkept. Street parking available as well as the secure parking directly next to the cinema. Join the free palace club for discounted tickets.
Antonio Palanca: Despite the occasional noisy audience it's a beautiful experience
Maria Nati: Good cinema.
Javjean: I love the vibe of this place but I think they could use more than one person working in the underground car park. There were big big delays in getting the car out, perhaps due to the evening rush. Also the bar glasses haven't been the cleanest lately, sorry to say.
Vivien Le: Good films. Spacious waiting area with a snack & drink bar. Small-sized theatres with comfortable chairs and good leg room.
Jason Do: Been here a few times. It's a go-to. Never too crowded or empty. Staff is consistently amazing. Luca filled up my 2L water bottle today with ice and a smile. 5/5
Mario Villaescusa: Great cinema with free parking
Margaret McConvill: Always lovely to relax and see a film at Palace cinemas.
Marty James: I attended this cinema tonight to see "Living". The cinema was FREEZING and everyone was commenting on it. I have visited many times before and noted the a/c is always WAY TOO COLD. Wear your thermals and take a blanket is my advice.Totally ruined the experience
Todd Morgan: Great cinemas
Rodger Thomas: Excellent service and comfortable clean cinemas
Leda: Watched The Whale the other day, the movie theatre was very clean and the ambiance was great too.

T X (Tex): Beautiful old world theater that looks exactly as it did 50 years ago, except there are now 5 cunemas, whereas then there was only 1. They have kept the original 1920's style while providing modern services. Nice balcony to have a drink while the sun sets and you wait for the movie to start
andy klavins: The renovations are coming along well. The Mario movie was great in cinema 1.
Beverley Burlakov: Great movies

Lachlan Culshaw: Great vintage cinema- I'll be back!

francis coutinho: It was good experience we went there after long time we felt nice nostalgic people should visit such single screen cinemas once in a while to provide businesses to support them financially, was good trip.
yun qing: 今天第一次去,很喜欢这个电影院。非常容易停车,效果很好,票价便宜,员工也很友善。希望大家都能多支持,一定会再去。
Lloyd Maeva: Great place thumbs up guys👍
Roseanne Hogarth: Just love the Odeon at Hornsby, classic vintage style. No crowds, no queues, sit where you like. Technically speaking, it is up there with the new cinemas. An experience not to be missed.
Nila Sweeney: I love the retro and intimate feel of the cinema. Even the slightly musty smell of the ageing outfit is quite pleasant. The waiting room and the cinema itself are also always spotless. It's never crowded so you can roll in anytime and still get a good seat. Tickets are cheaper than the bigger chains and the manager is always lovely.
Jennie Cunningham: You can't beat the prices at the Odeon. The cinema is old but in good repair.
Paul Hudson: Fantastic screen and exquisite sound.
Cameron Wilson: Cheaper tickets than the big dogs ✅, comfy seats ✅, big screen ✅, certified Dolby 7.1 surround sound ✅, choc tops ✅, old skool vibe ✅, digital and 35mm projectors ✅. Get out and support your local independent cinema 👍

Micjoh Tremayne: Great cinema, good range of snacks.

Joe Gonzales: Local cinema operated by the same family for decades. Will always support local businesses.
Sandi Pocott: Great quiet cinema. Good for kids who don't love crowds. Good old fashioned choc tops.

Event Cinemas Top Ryde: what do users think?
Fahad Khan: Their Vmax screens or above are the best. Don't go for normal screen.
박와이제이: 밤에는 직원들이 적은지 영화끝나도 불을 안켜주네요 계단서 구를뻔 ㅡㅡㅋ
Dee: Relatively cleaner than other Event cinemas I've been to, more relaxed and quiet too. Staff are always friendly here. My go to place to enjoy the movie quietly on evenings !
Paul Fynes-Clinton: Clean cinema, but the screen had a mark down the middle
Chang Liu: Not pleasant experiences. Ticket originally brought for 25th of the little mermaid as a gift, swapped to movie Fast X on the same day. But due to emergency we changed again for 30th May to watch Fast X. Today when we went in and scan the barcode ticket came up The little mermaid, we have been ask to come at 5.30pm, but there were no such time session for the Movie Fast X, and we been told if we wants to watch Faxt X we have to wait till 6:30pm and extra Charge is required!!!!! It’s an unfair treatment by the cinema. We had a busy day at work and rush to be here on time through the heavy traffic peak hour. No apologies but pay extra! Not recommended for this place!
Ashley Lee: Very convenient parking (if you can find it!) and cheaper than Macquarie centre. If you’re on the top floor cinemas you need to go back down for the restrooms so make sure to go beforehand or don’t drink during movie.
Dartion Nag: Clean cinemas, great sound and screen.Seats were comfortable.
Vania C: The staff was friendly, the cinema was clean and it was easy to buy tickets.
Theresa Dunne: Easy access & parking, only 5 mins from home. Comfortable seating.

lachin poorrajab: Clean high quality modern cinema
Edward Genobili: Nice place.

Albert Gardner: An inner city treasure
John Eddy: Good movies, nice place for a coffee before or at the movies.Suggest the toilets could do with an update.
Geoff Petersson: Funky cinema to visit for a night out.
John H: It’s a nice place to see a film, comfortable, clean, and well managed. Always good to see to quirky film there. The French Film festival was great!
Anita Smirnov: What a lovely cinema, I really enjoyed seeing one of the French Film Festival films there. Seats were comfortable and there was more leg room than most cinemas. I'm keen to check out more unique films here in the future :) Had to walk up stairs to get to the cinema, I'm not sure if there was an elevator but I forgot to look for it to check if it could be accessible.
JonBays Sycomp: Great movie theater with friendly helpful staff
Thomas van Gemert: Charming cinema with a good selection of afternoon and evening viewings. The staff is lovely and they have a good selection of snacks and drinks to take with you into the theatre.
Heather Macdonald: Really enjoyable movie
Marvin Weinman: Very comfortable seats. Wonderful movie Banshees
Daria Sarachakova: Small cinema in the heart of Sydney which plays festival movies, European movies and Hollywood movies as well.We were there to watch one of the movies from Japanese festival.Parking can be tricky to find, we parked at Wilson parking in 10 minutes walking distance from the cinema.
Ramon Sá: Comfy seats and good selection of films! Great cinema
Me, Myself and I: Staff have great a attitude towards customers.
Mark Butler: Older cinema but good staff and nice to have some interesting foreign films as well as quite a few film festivals. The massive cinemas have their place but so do these smaller suburban cinemas.
Andras Toth: This is a great cinema complex, very friendly staff, good facilities...BUT SOMEBODY PLEASE TAKE NOTE: the digital projector in Cinema 1 is on the blink, the colours are dull and the picture lacks contrast and is not bright, and so the film we saw was not really enjoyable visually. Please change asap!
lachlan harris: Day dreaming in the dark is such a marvel. The Palace features beautiful movies from the best film makers there is on offer. And also try a chocolate from the bar or a glass. It’s a relaxing and warm space. The film festivals offer little gems of movies. We took in The Quiet Girl, a slow, rich look at life in Ireland with a well told and heart breaking simple gift of a tale. Lovely space.
Ed Jennings: Sumptuous screens. Good location.
Debra Moore: Great legroom good choice of films
Daniel Michel: This is the only cinema I will watch movies in. It’s the best experience of any.
Micjoh Tremayne: Great cinema complex in the heart of darlinghurst and Paddington on Oxford Street
Quentin Feduchin: A comfortable cinema offering many international movie series. The centre offers 4-5 theatres, plus food and refreshments. It's located near a popular area on Oxford Street, Paddington, NSW.
Chris Oneel: Nice little cinemaWe loved it
