Growing Friend's Plant Sales: what do users think?
David Baxter: Within the perfect setting of the Botanic Gardens Sydney is a place to buy, from very friendly and knowledgeable people - volunteers - a wide range of native and exotic plants, many not so readily available elsewhere. At present lovers of Begonia and Salvia will find some uncommonly available plants to purchase. Today I purchased a Begonia listada, noted on web-sites as one of the rarer varieties. The growth, environment needs and care information provided for the plants on sale is very helpful, and I have had great success with healthy growing of the plants at home; and to the expected size, shape, foliage and flowering. All the plants here are extremely well cared for and at modest (actually surprisingly low) prices. Nothing not to love about this place; except maybe the limited opening hours - which can sometimes be longer than advertised during special events at the Gardens. One of the special little places of Sydney, and one within a very special big place. It is only a short walk from the entrance to the Botanic Gardens closest to the NSW Art Gallery. It is adjacent to both the Maiden Theatre - the old National Herbarium building from 1899 - and the Succulent Garden. Even if without the time to enjoy a long visit to the Gardens, after an Art Gallery visit it is definitely worth briefly dropping in here, with a view to taking some new plants home. Very likely you will - very likely more than you anticipated. (Please also visit the Succulent Garden; it is a discrete area, out of the way, never crowded - usually I am alone here - and pretty amazing).I have been told that from the 29th April 2023, Plant Sales will be open on Sundays even without a special event in the Gardens. At this stage, 10am to 2pm is the anticipated Sunday opening times.
Adrian Wright: Great to hear (5 years?) that we can shop weekends. Well done all you volunteers.
Belinda: Not allowed entry unless you have your papers.
Gail Hamilton: Interesting healthy plants and friendly people :)
DIY Vacation: Small plants (10-20cm only) and not too much variety. I think this place is staffed by volunteers because no one could help me, know what plants I was referring to or would palm me off to someone else.
Landen Simpson: I love Growing Friend's Nursery! They generally have smaller plants, but what they do have is quality and well priced. I almost always pick out something new that I've never seen before each time I visit.
Jen: I love coming here at least once a month to see what is growing!!!
Alexandria Gardiner: A lovely place to discover, enjoy and purchase many species of plants (both native and exotic) at great prices. The staff are friendly and the quality of the stock they grow is fantastic!
Eugene Ganke: Lovely, knowledgeable and helpful people there to help you - great selection of plants too
Nikolai: Great variety of exotic plants that can be hard to find. Staff/volunteers are super friendly. The prices are very reasonable too.
Andrew Loren: Really chill vibe, staffs are extremely friendly. Unique selections of native plants. Feels just like back at home.
Alex Siegers: Excellent range of plants, particularly Australian natives, all very affordable. The volunteers here are also very helpful and friendly, able to help you find the best plant for your pot, office or garden.
Graham Simmons: Best nursery in Sydney
Paul O'Farrell: Friendly advice from knowledgeable volunteers, interesting native and exotic plants, and great value.
peter richwell: Excellent plants at a good price.

Sydney's Plant Market: what do users think?
Iyana Villa: Best place to shop for indoor plants, staffs were very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to get back here and buy some more of their gardening decors. Must visit!
Stuart Ponsonby: One of the best garden shop I have been to good variety of plants and all very good quality.
Christine Campbell: Not as big a variety as in the past and prices had gone up.
Samantha Cullen: Super helpful great prices.Family friendly many bird kids look at
Mackenzie Nott: I came here last year and it was the most beautiful, exotic place. Basically a vacation walking in. I was greeted by Charlotte, who was the most amazingly trained staff i’ve ever met. Lovely person who got all the prices right at the register. She knew so much about her plants! even though she has been absent for some time, please reconsider hiring her again in your next plant journey 🤘
Alan Sharpe: They have a HUGE range, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The plants are easily 30-50% cheaper than Bunnings and look much much healthier.Highly recommend to anyone looking for a few or bulk plants for their garden.
Belinda R: I could not recommend this place enough! Their plants are such great value and they are such high quality healthy plants. They have a massive amount of stock and have so many different varieties of plants, pots and also homewares. Everything is in clear sections so it’s easy to find and the staff are super friendly and always keen to help you out! Every single plant I have ever gotten from here is still absolutely thriving and since finding this nursery, it is literally the only place I will buy plants!
Saghar Ghz: The best nursery with the healthy plants in Sydney! Excellent customer service with knowledgeable staff who helped me with my questions! I've been to a lot of places for plant shopping but no one can bit Sydney's plant market!
Aidan Robinson: Awesome service, best price you will fine and plant quality cannot be better
Damien Viviani: Been here a few times but looks like they gave it a huge tidy up and made way more effort with the plant displays recently. Even a coffee cart recently installed out-font. Dog friendly too! Really nice staff , very welcoming and a very good selection of plants and pots.
Mikey Stojsic: Amazing service, staff really know their stuff. The older gentleman horticulturalist was an encyclopaedia of knowledge, absolute legend and an asset to the business! Our plants looked healthy and strong too.
Annette Mizon: Update on a review I made back in August. The raphis palm I received looked to be a magnificent specimen but it was totally root bound. After 2 months it was struggling. I went away for 3 weeks and returned last week to find it totally shrivelled up and dead. Very upsetting and no response from Sydney Plant Market.Update on the update: Dear Sydney Plant Market, An email was sent to you a week ago and no response was received. Only ONE PLANT was ever received not two. I purchased one and you tried to welch out of the deal by cancelling the order and I had to leave a negative comment here before we even had a discussion. The plant was delivered free of charge because the price was over the free delivery threshold. Root bound - multiple large roots sticking out of the bottom of the container and no visible soil in the plastic pot which I had to cut off the plant. With regard to watering, raphis palms are supposed to be hardy and drought tolerant. I gave it a good watering before I went on holidays and a friend watered it again a week later. A healthy plant would not completely die in such a short space of time. Am I an expert, definitely not - but my last raphis was in my possession for 8+ years in the same spot enduring the same conditions before it went to a new home in my mother's garden. Thank you for your vitriolic comments. Guess I wont be buying from you again.
Karthik Ravi: Amazing place! Huge and has great variety of plants.
Dadang Permana: Hi saya dari IndonesiaFB:Subplant florist
Richard Soliman: John and the team are nothing short of great advice and a good laugh - very friendly and great prices. Best japenese maples and variety to choose from! Thanks john for hunting for my next piece!
lin zhijie: They are best plant market. Great prices and consultation services. They provided us very patient and detailed plant selection consultation for our house projects. Heather was so helpful. See you guys again in the next project.
Geoff Blackmore: Very helpful and friendly staff.
Angela Berger: I wanted to pass on my sincere thanks and gratitude to Heather that helped me on the weekend when I came to the nursery. I showed her a series of photos of pots that I wanted to create and she was beyond helpful. Her wealth of knowledge was outstanding and nothing was a problem for her. She’s definitely a great asset to your business and I would like to see her recognised. She even gave me her number so I could send photos to her once I have planted everything. I spent over $600 today and will definitely be back again. Your nursery had improved significantly since I was last there. Please pass on my praise to your team member. I will ask for her advice again when I come next and spread the word to all my friends. Thanks
What do you need to know?: Came here today and was helped by Sam.We have been looking for Helichrysum petiolare to replace some that died. They seem to be hard to find at the moment. Sam stopped what he was doing to assist us and walked the length of the nursery to find some waaaaay out the back of the property for us. Most customer assistants would probably say they were out of stock, but he took the time to hunt what we wanted down and the bonus was they were only $8 each.
karthik sc: Hidden treasure in a quiet & beautiful setting. drove past and surprised to find the garden items.. Wonderful staff, knowledgeable and very helpful.. the icing on the cake was the water fountain which I purchased after a lot of deliberation.. a little bit of DIY over the weekend.. and the fantastic result in the attached.. thanks SPM team . Looking forward to coming again when new stock arrives..
Traci Holland: All my daughter Lucy wanted to do for her 18th was visit SPM and wow were we happy we did. After a 3hr car trip you couldn’t have found a more beautiful selection of plants. Every single one of them is evidently cared for and the lovely staff there made my daughters day with their interaction and genuine happiness that she chose to visit them on her 18th. We left after a couple of hours with wide smiles and full hearts. Thank you so much for making the trip so worth it

They checked in on us a few times to offer advice when we needed it but also let us freely look around when we wanted without a hassle. We spent hours at the nursery and ended up standing around talking to the staff after we finished shopping. They gave us tips on how to care for the plants and even helped us pack them into the car. Prices are excellent. About half the price of other nurseries we've been to. The range is good and they're constantly getting new stock. Exotic Nurseries & Landscaping: what do users think?
Alok Sharma: Great nursery to get exotic plants and trees. It has a lot of variety of good quality trees.
Ash Jeb: Fantastic service. Amazing array of plants.
John Johnson: I'd love to recommend this companyHowever, when I see the company van screaming by me on a road, recklessly drive 20kph over the speed limit, weaving dangerously in and out of lanes, there is no way I will give this company a cent.Shame on you, Exotic Nurseries. I hope your driver learns how to drive safely and legally - before he harms someone.
Exotic Living: Exotic nurseries is easily the friendliest and reliable wholesale nursery we have dealt with and will definitely continue too! With our clients always being extremely satisfied with the quality of stock Exotic nurseries supplies.
Chilli Dee: Sent through a quotation request last week after speaking with a friendly Maddie over the phone, then was kept waiting over a week for a response after being promised we would receive this by COB yesterday from follow up calls we made to Exotic. We called back a 4th time to follow up on the quotation email sent, only to be spoken to by a very rude manager, Janet who condescendingly stated (to a potential new client) that we should've known ONLY trade people can speak with them, not the general public and continued in a very a pretentious tone - will be taking my $30,000 business elsewhere, and we will not be recommending Exotic to trade clients who advertise with our business. An honest approach upfront about "trade only" inquiries when our initial phone call was made, quicker response time throughout the week we waited for a quote and a more friendly tone over the phone would've prevented this review.
Samuel Ward: This is best Nursery in Sydney!Plenty to choose from, great service and very well priced. All plants are high in quality.
Andrew Fuda: The best!!! Forget about the rest!
Kinda Constantine: Massive nurseries! You will find all kind of trees and plants that you are looking for. Not to forget the assistance of all their friendly staff! Take a tour to enjoy all the flora diversity!
Ty Santika: Does not actually have exotic plants.
salim torbey: Great service

Plants Plus Cumberland Forest: what do users think?
Jenny Coughlan: I visited Plants Plus for the first time last week and was SO impressed with the variety of plants and the VERY helpful staff. I will spread the word. A must for gardeners.
Nathan Lock (Dr Lock): Good range of plants, lots of native selections, succulents and fruiting trees. The pots of colour are great value.
Julianna Huang: Best nursery. Staff very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.
Guilda Uebergang: Lovely place to visit
Stephanie N: Friendly and helpful staff. Good range of indoor and outdoor plants.
Andrej Grobler: Great selection of healthy plants and kind and helpful staff.
Tapey: They have the best selection of plants around. They are in tip top condition as well. A little expensive but you get what you pay for
Lydia Choy: Been here many times and have a good variety of plants. Some plants are relatively cheap but do be careful when buying succulent from this place. I bought a few mini ones and there were bugs on them which spread to my other succulents!
I H: Great service and lots of beautiful plants to choose from.
Grace Ingrati: Great service. Thanks Andrew
Clodagh O'Grady: Staff are fabulous, dealings with “the boss” was more than a disappointment. Condescending, extremely demeaning asked us if we understood what potting mix was. After raising an issue with a plant bought he told us that we just needed to understand the nature of the plant. Said he could do something if only we had a picture of the hardy plant which died after 10 days, we did have a picture but nothing changed. Eventually offered for us to repurchase the plant at a reduced price. Declined this offer. Just want to add this is the first negative feedback I have left for a business. Prefer to accept it as a less than good experience and move on but this experience was so unprofessional.
Marie Bastoli: Fabulous service and great advice!I'm so happy my friend recommended them.
Mia Sargent: Love this nursery next to the forest. Complete from natives to roses even indoor collections. Great varieties and good service!
John Louie: Packed with thousands of varieties of native foliage and food plants
Alex Kemeny: Best priced plant nursery in Sydney. And very helpful horticulturally trained staff. Lovely environment inside the Cumberland State Forest.
Vincent Chou: Excellent selection and good service. The only nursery I shop nowadays.
Sebastian Rambaldini: My absolute favourite nursery! They have a fantastic selection of plants available, especially Australian natives. The staff are all very knowledgeable, in particular Adam who answered every question I had and came up with a fantastic alternative that best suited the conditions of where I wanted to plant. I can’t recommend Plants Plus Nursery enough!
Marcelle Girgis: Ok
JR_ FT: The walks were pretty good and scenic, but the signs said one hour and it was only took 10 mins. The nursery had many various plants but we did not make a purchase. The cafe food was really good. The views were good too.
John Hamilton: A top plant nursery
Ka Fo: A great place, fabulous looking plants, good selection of pots and other garden needs and very welcoming polite and helpful staff.

David McManus: I ordered the plants online after business hours and the process was easy to undertake. The next afternoon I received a friendly email stating that they were ready to be picked up. So I headed on down there and picked them up. I ordered a mix of perennial shrubs and some groundcovers all of which have taken off now that I have put them in the garden. I am happy with the experience and will definitely buy products through them in the future.
