Patrick ASH: My Budget Rental Confirmation: 340312221.I was being served by Robert at this place when I went to pick-up my rental car on 5th April 2023, for our long holiday from 6th April to 11th April, and he was so polite, helpful, and even helped me get the best possible car - a 2021 model Subaru Forester SUV, which was an unexpected, added bonus to make our trip more comfortable and enjoyable.Overall, Robert, and the top-notch condition and competitive price of the car Budget offered me were the reasons I would highly recommend Budget (ask for Robert) to anyone needing to rent a car.Thank you.

We were prepared for it to consume more fuel, but not only that, they hit us with an invoice for an extra $110 dollars for the “upgrade”. What a joke!

Jade Louise: Worst experience I have had with a company. I was charged twice and advised I would receive a refund 3 weeks ago. 4 calls, 3 emails and I still do not have my money back. The customer service team are less than helpful and straight rude. Not only will I be avoiding this company, I will continue to tell friends and family to stay clear.
G W: Chris and his team are great to deal with. I was in Sydney again for business/pleasure. My meeting dates had changed at the last minute but Chris was most helpful in changing reservation dates and providing an excellent car alternative. I highly recommend this Budget location and will definitely rent again here on the next trip.
Paul C: Picking up the car was a bit slow but I was not too bothered by it. Took around 30 mins.Car was good. Clean, fueled up, no issues.I asked for after hours return and they gave me a paper with instructions. It was quite thorough as the underground is not the easiest to navigate.The reason for the 1 star review is that I rented the car for 1 day on Aug 5. Picked up in the morning and returned it the same day at 6pm. I was charged about $300 more than what I should have been charged. I did not get a final invoice, only saw the charge on my credit card. I called budget and was told they charged me for 3 days and said I returned the car on Aug 8.I followed the after hours drop off instructions and handed the keys to reception at the Rydges hotel on Aug 5 around 6pm. I asked for a receipt and was told they don't do that but don't worry as the Avis staff pick up every morning.Obviously there was a break down somewhere and the vehicle didn't get checked in until 2 days later. It isn't even possible for me to return the car on Aug 8. I left the country at 9am on Aug 6.Submitted a case on Aug 11. I am still waiting for them to do their "investigation". Not sure what they need to investigate. I sent them my boarding pass as proof.Update (2022/09/01):Another week gone by and calling budget for an update, they tell me the location has not responded. they will send another request for an update.Me: who can I talk to to get a response from the location?AVIS/Budget CSR: Your bank.WOW.Update #2 (2022/09/26):Followed up with Budget again on Sep 22. Now a full 6 weeks have passed since I opened the case. Their resolution time was supposed to be 15 to 30 business days. Their response is simply wait 10 more business days.I had opened a dispute with my bank at the same time and they told me they completed a chargeback for the difference. Hopefully that is the end of that.

The budget team was able to answer their phone straight away and always had the answers. Bonus with renting from budget I had 150km included with the rental most others I looked at were 100km. I would rent and recommend this company to all my friends.

I had to return my car to another location and change schedules due to bad floods in Queensland. Customer service was super quick and easy. Also Budget had the cheapest rates of any rental service and very clear insurance/excess policy.
Phillips Huynh: The loveliest service team! Been here a couple times for their 3 tonne trucks to move house. They're a very warm, welcoming and friendly team. Steve Fitschen: Wir hatten 2 Wochen lang einen Mietwagen, Midsize.Das Auto bekommt 5 Sterne, es war super gewesen und mit rund 9000km noch sehr neu.Das Personal bekommt 4 Sterne, bei der Abholung hat alles sehr gut geklappt, aber bei der Rückgabe habe ich um einen Beleg gebeten und meine Email Adresse hinterlassen, den Beleg habe ich nie erhalten.Die Station bekommt 3 Sterne, weil es keinen 24/7 Rückgabemöglichkeit gibt wo man den Autoschlüssel in einem Tresor oder Briefkasten einwirft, das ist nicht mehr Zeitgemäß, vorallem weil sich niemand das Auto angeschaut hat, als ich es zurückgegeben habe, also gibt es keinen Bedarf das der Kunde bei der Rückgabe dabei ist.

I called to drop the car after hours she said clearly park on the side street you will see the mail box near one of the gates park over there and chuck the keys in the mail box which i did and i forgot to take my umbrella from the car. I called next day before they even inspect the car she said 5 mins will call u back. After 5 hours i called back not them she started to talk very rudely to me why i did park the car their and leave the keys in the mailbox as thats not acceptable i told her one of your stuff told me to do that she said well I can’t help u and the car been sent to another location and she will try to contact them to check the umbrella when they answer her. 2 hours later i called again she started all again same things abusing me and speaking very loud and very rudely why did u park their and why u left the keys in the mail box i told her please i want my umbrella before it gets lost as its an expensive umbrella and its a gift. She goes i told u when the other location answer we will get back to u and she hanged up. I called Saturday exactly same story plus please don’t call us again when we hear something we will contact u and for your information we not responsible for any valuables or belongings left in the car. Sunday same story again but this time it was very over screaming 10 times louder and every time put me on hold for 10-15 mins also repeating the same words and abusing. And finally Monday one of the managers called and said they don’t know where the car been sent to they tried 3 locations and they couldn’t locate it and the 3 they called said they didn’t see anything in the car. I sent a complaint to the head office spoke with customer service few time they hang up or transfer me to different departments and everyone says he can’t help he will transfer me to someone else until the umbrella got lost and no ones cares in this company about customer complaints or anything. I used them heaps before different locations and states they were very good but this time i would never go with them again. I asked for her name she said she isn’t allowed to give me her name and she hanged up like i can hear how hard she dropped the phone and maybe broke it i asked for her position she wouldn’t give me any information as well.

Eglė: Rent from anywhere else except this company, overpay but just avoid these horrible renterns. One of the most horrible customer experience we had in our life. We overpaid, did not receive the services we paid for and we wrote a written complaint stating everything to which no one replyed :))) pushed the complaint multiple times but they do not care. The amount on the invoice does not match the amount we were debited and we paid for the additional driver twice! Ignoring us for months. I have no clue how is this possible even in 21st century..
Janis Manship: I am in Sydney almost every week and hire a budget car and the service is amazing, staff are amazingly friendly (especially the guy that works for Avis that deals with the budget car hire as well), cars are always nice, clean and good to drive.
nirmal thapa: Be careful with all the extra charges. They will always charge you more than the amount. And the customer service is really poor. I advise not to use the Sydney airport or be very careful. They always send the invoice with extra amount that is not mentioned while confirming the vehicle. I will never use the buget from Sydney airport again.
Trang Linh Hinh: Unreasonable charges including car location surcharge, rego and $90.69 fuel tank refilled, but infact it’s 4/5 of the tank still full (we did refill before returning the car). I have never faced any issues like this with other agencies. If Google had 0 star, I wouldn’t be bothered to rate it.

Out of nowhere and non understandable. When we pick up and drop off at the exact same place.. This is literally stealing.Do not trust this company.
Luke McGrath: Domestic airport being renovated absolute disaster with no notification. You have to check in at the desk at domestic, which of course you’ve got a lineup and there’s only one person manning. Then you’ve got to get a bus over to the international my experience was the car wasn’t where it was meant to be so I had to re-lineup again one person manning the desk so I took time and then finally got the car took over an hour . Great marketing for Uber.

Alex Ailer: I've rented cars for over a decade, on a near bi-weekly basis. In the last 2 weeks, I used 3 different rental services here in Australia, without issue. I've even rented from Budget in other countries without issue. Here, I was denied service because my "license was invalid." I asked for a receipt stating as such, and was told to "call and cancel the reservation." I knew there'd be a fee, but the reception desk refused to assist. "It's my manager telling me I can't do it for you" he said. Absolutely worthless. I had to rebook with Enterprise, who had absolutely NO ISSUES with my license. It was also about $100 cheaper. NEVER USING BUDGET AGAIN. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL COMPANY, NO FLEXIBILITY.

Trang Linh Hinh: Unreasonable charges including car pick up location, $90.69 charged for fuel refilled although there was 4/5 of the tank still full (we did refilled before returning) and rego fee per day. If Google had 0 star option, I would not be bothered to tick it.

Michelle Martijn: Exceptional service from Rachael and her colleagues today. Our car was as international instead of domestic and they arranged door to door transfer for us. The escorted us to the bus and the bus dropped us next to our car.After posting this review I read through some other reviews for budget and it seems many of the positive ones mentions Rachael. She really is an exceptional employee, if only more rental desks had a Rachael

Jack Mihoff: I will NEVER use BUDGET OR AVIS again, I booked a car for 1 day in Gold Coast, booked everything online, I pick up the car and have to pay a $223.56 deposit, I drop the car off the next day, i was told I would receive my deposit back in 5-10 business days. It has now been 28 business days and still no refund, budget keeps telling me to call my bank which I have 3 separate times and each time they tell me that budget took the money, it is no longer a pending transaction, I don’t get any Australian people to speak to on the phone from budget, they keep telling me to wait and call your bank. Now budget have given meSome 6 digit code to give to my bank to release the money, I don’t think it’s going to work. On hold to my bank again for yhe 4th time and already 40mins into phone call on hold. Never again budget, useless bloody business.

Kushagra Mehta: I normally don't name and shame but this experience was absolutely terrifying. We booked an intermediate SUV to be picked up from Sydney airport on 22/09/2022. The guy who served us, his name was Edgar, he was absolutely non customer friendly. First of all he was about to charge us $200 more than the online quote that we received when we booked the car, I had to show him the online quote and then he reduced it by $200, what is the point of booking it online if the online quote is not going to be honored, please ensure you check your final amount before paying the deposit and collecting the car keys, if not you will receive an invoice for more than what you were quoted, and again they charge 8$ for using a Mastercard. Not only that he would pressure us into buying the excess reduction plan. He told us at least 10 times that if anything happens, your fault or not, you will be liable to pay 5.5k (which too he lied about since it is 4.4k). We refused again and again and then he would go on to saying that you are taking a big risk and that you shouldn't take one. He was also selling the excess reduction plan for a wrong price (80$ per day vs 30$ per day). It seemed so dodgy and scary, Edgar literally scared us on renting a car, it was not a pleasant experience at all, we came for a holiday at Sydney for 3 days, and most of the times we were worried about the car. On top of that the car that was rented to us was an MG HS (brand new) by the way with 140kms on the clock and the car was terrifying. The automatic safety features in the car were nothing short of dangerous, the car would brake out of nowhere and the entire journey, the car had this burning smell coming from the engine bay. On top of that the car could only run on RON 95/98 so more expensive fuel. The ac wouldn't work properly, the car keys would not lock/unlock the car, it was an absolute disaster. We were so relieved when we dropped the car, it is a shame that such employees make your holiday experience a complete mess. Almost everyone except us on the counter were forced to buy an excess reduction plan, it is not fair from Budget to provide a cheaper upfront rental plan and then increase the overall cost by forcing customers to buy such extras. I would rather prefer to rent out with a premium lenders with better customer service and all this extras included in their plan. If you are renting a car, especially from Sydney airport, please be miles away from BUDGET SYNDEY AIRPORT, Thanks.

Anmol Shrestha: Everything good here, gets busy and have to wait a lot. The address when booked online needs to update as when we went via app and booked Uber the maps shows runway and we have to book uber again to get to the exact location.Poor customer service - when we called them for exact location name/no. of street but they kept saying Keith Smith Ave, airport. Please train the customer service staff to provide correct and exact address when a customer calls them. Wasted extra money on uber and time on phone.

Iffatis Sadia: Terrible service. Budget incorrectly charged me for the invoice and I am still waiting for the refund. My RA number is 412712193 for Budget. They need to charge from NRMA as I rented via insurance NRMA. NRMA sent a letter to Budget to charge NRMA and refund me. I called and emailed Budget with the confirmation letter from NRMA. And they did nothing. There is no ownership to refund my money and they talk like it's all my fault that they did the mistake. I am really frustrated after calling Budget gladesville 7 times. Still waiting for my refund. Be aware of them when you provide credit card details. If they charge you incorrectly the money is gone.
jon orsborn: I was given a car via my insurance company Allianz - it all went well until i received a toll cost against my card. I called Budget and spoke with an employee with a Canadian accent and explained i didn't have the car at the time of the toll. He looked up on the system acknowledged it was a mistake and told me he would notify management and they would call me to arrange a refund, another week passed and i called the same employee who told me he was too busy and again would get management to call me - i ended up getting my bank to dispute and refund. Very disappointing customer service to waste my banks, Linkt Tolls and my time. Still cant believe management didn't call to apologies after 3 calls. Defiantly living up to their name Budget!

Patrick Bamford: Was moving house and got stuffed around by another truck rental.I rang Budget the same morning and they were able to get me a 4.5T truck last minute on a Saturday morning as they had a late cancellation. A bit of luck yes, but they really came through and saved us. This was back in December when there were next to no trucks available to rent anywhere.Customer service was friendly and was reasonably priced.

Becky Pizzilli: A fantastic option for car rentals in Sydney. The usual places were super expensive but these guys were well within our budget. Very helpful, picked us up and dropped us off at the airport. Car provided was a good size and clean. Highly recommend low cost car rentals and would use them again.

Shane O'Sullivan: Terrible experience. Car broke down after 15 mins - Engine overheating. The engine cut out couple of times before this happened. Customer service was not professional at all - advising me not to call roadside assist but to try and fix myself. Dangerous advice to give if customer isn't familiar with cars
Raina Tekii: Good price for a car that exceeded our expectations!!! The Kia Cerato was such a good drive! One of the tyres needed to be pumped up at the start of our stay… but that was an easy fix with a petrol station being just around the corner from pick-up. No further issues with tyres for our 4 day hire.No hidden costs. What they quote is what you pay. You do have to give them a credit card number for security but honestly… was fine.About 10ish mins from the airport so didn’t have to stress about making check-in etc.Faultless communication! Thank you for making our stay in Sydney pleasurable and easy with a vehicle- and the air con was so handy on 29 degree days!
Jason Ayres: Polite, friendly service, and good rates.I had arranged to rent one particular car, which they had confirmed.However, for some unknown reason, they later emailed me to say that the car was no longer available and offered to rent me a similar car at a cheaper rate than first agreed.Look, it's literally "Low Cost" rentals.The Kia Carnival wasn't the prettiest thing on the road, and so you wouldn't rent it for your wedding ceremony.There are 8 seats, no mechanic or electrical faults.It all worked out well.

And after 2 days (my booking period), he rang me sharp 8AM rudely asked me where I am. I said "I got the car 8.35, so i returned it 8.35. I will drive there safely, I dont want any accident to happen"He replied "oh do you want accident to happen?"Great Customer Service!!- I asked another staff there i wanted to talk to the boss and escalate this. He refuse & seems like cover each other arses :) good on them.I wish you all the best for running a dodgy car rental place.Remember, Safety is always number one.

Cosmo Liu: We booked an eight seater Kia car with LC car rentals for a drive down to the Snowy mountains.Upon picking this car up, everywhere inside the car was incredibly dusty, dirty and filthy. In addition, the flip down seat mechanism did not work 70% of the time.Thé destination is a six hour drive. During the drive, our car has drifted side to side on the road through the entire way. Later we discovered this car has had a nail in the back wheel since the beginning of the journey, thus losing air and therefore causing our car to drift. We were never notified of this; clearly the company does not place interest in the safety of the renters’ lives.I would not recommend renting from this place as they clearly do not do safety checks or keep a satisfactory level of hygiene in their cars.
Ashly Liu: Definitely do NOT recommend this car rental lace - they provided an unsafe, old and unclean vehicle for us. On our drive to the Snow Mountains, we found the car to be unsteady and difficult to drive and it was due to a nail in a wheel that the company was aware of but chose not to do anything about. Upon returning this vehicle, they did not reimburse us for the cost of fixing this nail in the wheel!Additionally, the car was not cleaned prior to renting it to us - there were stains and bits of rubbish strewn within the van, which we had to clean out ourselves prior to the use. I’m not sure why this place has good reviews previously, but can definitely attest to poor service and unsafe vehicles.
