It looked identical to the main chefs menu despite 1 dish (wagyu) I had the beetroot one that looked like steak though.We shared the gantry experience matching wine and that was one of the highlight quality picked wines we've tasted.Very innovative flavours and beautiful, both menus were outstanding you don't feel like you're missing out if you're not vegetarian.Smoked tonburi is a Japanese ground caviar in the zucchini dish (video attached). Dr B.: Coming back from a dinner to hotel my children were hungry again. We ordered something from kids menu and some drinks for us. A young waiter who was also a manager in this restaurant (name starts with J) was extremely impolite. He was showing us all the time that we were not welcomed as we didn’t order food for us but only for children. He embarrassed me on several occasions with sneaky tricks and comments. This is absolutely unacceptable behaviour for such a restaurant in such a Hotel. I will never come back here again. The Marriott Hotel management should be aware of this waiter/manager. Very bad reputation.

Took them about 25 mins to bring out a plate with 4 pre-made chocolate things on it (petite four). I had to ask when it was coming for them to bring it out. Not only that, was never offered any ground pepper at the table but I did note some other tables did.Ambience wise they only realised the fluorescent lighting was impacting the ambience and decided to change it..at like 8pm. Felt much nicer but was too late. Not too mention that the restaurant is in the middle of a hotel lobby so people were chucking or dropping their stuff from high up and hitting the restaurant (someone’s pill/drug fell from a higher level and nearly landed on our table).Probably won’t be back, sorry.

Betty: I experienced outright discrimination towards my disabled aunt booking this restaurant in which they would not accommodate her.I made a booking for Silvester's for 3 people for the 3-course menu, and they called me to confirm. My disabled aunt is deaf, has no teeth and also has a health condition where if she overeats, she vomits. She can only eat soft foods and cannot bite or chew down hard foods. I asked for an option where if, on the night, she could not have the three course set menu to have a la carte option of smaller portions. I did not outright rule out that she could not participate in a three course meal, but we would have liked some flexibility depending on how she was feeling. If she were ok with a three course meal we would have gladly ordered that, but if, due to her disability and health condition could not stomach that much food, we would have appreciated the flexibility in offering her say, just a main course. This was rejected by the host and the manager, and they told me she must participate in a set menu, no exceptions. The excuse given was that they were recovering from covid and needed to make as much money as possible. If it were a case of meeting a minimum spend, I would have gladly made that shortfall through the purchase of beverages; however, they outright said no.My aunt's requirements are not dietary preferences. They are health and disability concerns. And my aunt wouldn't be the only one to have such issues.I do wonder, when parents bring their kids along, do they force the kids to order a 3-course adult menu knowing they can't finish it? Or an elderly couple who don't eat as much as they used to, are they too force to either have the set menu or not go at all?

The Head Chef deserves to be venerated! If this is how he treats food on any regular night, he indeed deserves praise!!! I've never tasted anything so amazingly balanced. Every bite of every new course told a story, and I was on the edge of my seat until the very last morsel. Bravo, Chef!

Alexander Terp: Came on mother's day, Quay gave our mom a champagne glass to celebrate (made it pretty clear it was free), but then asked if the rest of us would join in without making it clear we would pay. And it was not cheap champagne. We're already paying 374 AUD per person to be there, so we all thought "oh how nice of then to give us this extra thing, i guess we're already paying a lot". Being hit with 154 AUD extra on the bill for something that was not made clear would cost you never feels good and I'd expect better from staff at a place like Quay.Food itself was okay, the desserts were great and unique but the rest wasn't too amazing - overall definitely not worth 374 AUD for the 8 course (and the 6 course likely similar story). Food came out too slowly (we were there for over 3 hours) and portions were unsatisfying. Overhyped, save your money.

Cleolin B: I enquired to have my wedding at this venue and was poorly taken care of by Sonja (event co ordinator). I left feeling really upset. She made a few racist remarks (whether she was aware or not, this woman needs to know how to speak to a range of customers). I’m of Asian background, Chinese to be exact. And I was quite taken back with some of the comments made by her. Here are some of the main ones:- We were set on having 120 guests (I have a big family) at the wedding. Her response? “Personally I would only like 80 max.” This is NOT your wedding (fortunately), and you’re trying to sell this venue to a customer. Your “personal” preference is not warranted.- Whilst showing us the menu, She went on about how her “white dad” doesn’t usually like Asian food but he loved the food at botanic house (really unsure of how saying your dad who doesn’t like or appreciate Asian flavours, somehow miraculously liking botanic house food is meant to sway me?).- continued to show us the dessert section and said “you know what they say about Asian desserts, they’re a bit offensive. But Luke does an amazing job at making them likeable.” You have got to be kidding me with this comment. My decision was already made at this point.- Sonja said “you could have the banh mi as canapés or snacks if you wanted.. to be honest they’re not something you’d want at a wedding. If I saw that, I’d be disappointed.” Again, pushing her PERSONAL preferences on us.- and lastly, her selling point was saying that Botanic House is a lovely venue to pay homepage to my background. She didn’t even bother to confirm what my background was.. I’m Aussie/Chinese. Botanic House is Modern Vietnamese.To conclude, I never went with this venue for my wedding, but her comments really stuck out to me. So much so I had to make this review. Sonja, I think it would be of benefit if you were able to get some lessons on how to be culturally sensitive to your customers and to not push your personal preferences on excited couples wanting to choose such a beautiful venue. If we were spoken to differently, we would have chosen Botanic House. Absolutely disgusted and disappointed with some of the remarks made. What I shared were just a few of the many shared during our appointment.

For a ‘wine bar’ the staff were not able to provide any information on the actual wines available..3 of the main Steak options were not available (despite us being 8pm on a Saturday night) - we only found out that this was the case 15 minutes after we had already ordered the food.General standard of food was pretty poor for the price that was paid.Despite being a nice decor/venue. The menu was overpriced & generally a poor experience. Would not recommend.

Lena Ang: A nice place for having lunch. The venue was huge but was quiet when we went. It’s nicely decorated with high ceiling and wine bars. We had few entrees to share. Started with oysters and kingfish ceviche. We also had steak tartare and grilled prawns. I’d recommend the oysters, very nice. Prawns wasn’t bad either. For main I had wagyu steak medium rare. It was nice but the sauce lack of punch. Also there was part of my steak that chewy, couldn’t cut it off perhaps tendon? Please order the truffle French fries. It was lovely. Unlike most of chips with sprinkle of truffles on top, the chips tasted like they’ve been infused with truffles. Very delicious and enjoyable. I’d give that 5 stars. The wine selection was a lot and our cab sav was nice companion. Our lady server was friendly, efficient and warmth with lovely smile. She made the dining experience pleasant and relaxing.

What you would expect from a restaurant on the wharf.What I didn’t like was when I asked the waiter , who didn’t maybe have a firm grasp on the menu, If the shared set menu would fill two people and not 5 people he just said yes. And then I get the bill and it was per person that price and not as set price. Maybe I wasn’t clear enough. And that was my fault. But when you think a bull is going to be 220 and turns out to be 450 it can kind of sting a bit.

When we were about to leave one of them was so rude I asked her why she was so rude to us and her response was "I identify as autistic so I'm allowed to be rude". Jessica Jones: Was so excited to try the roast here and booked for nine people for my birthday.Service was very bad, and food was even more disappointing. If you are only serving a roast it needs to be spot on. All nine of ours were cold, sides didn’t get served until we were all half way through eating, the staff were not one bit helpful when I said about the temperature of the food and never even offered to maybe get some extra hot gravy or pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds! Just shrugged and walked off! Was supposed to be a two hour seating, we booked for 4pm and at 5.10 the bill was put on the table without any of us requesting it, we were all going to get an Irish coffee for dessert, but clearly they just wanted us out as we were not asked if we would like a dessert or anything else to drink. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

We both went for the sirloin roast. Yum! Such a generous serve and the Yorkshire pudding was light and fluffy. Only suggestion I’d make, is that the plates need to be warmed so the food doesn’t go cold… and there was a lot of food to get through! The fireplace was even lit which was a super cozy touch. Will definitely be back.

It's a little tricky to find the first time as you take the lift in Parlour and walk past the hotel lobby, look for a big light in the shape of an exclamation mark and head up the stairs. They have a number of casual seats at the bar and some share plate options if you are after a more casual outing.

Sara Sassypants: My partner and I used to frequent this bar often but hadn't been in a while. Finally had some time to come in on Friday night. We found the menu had mostly changed and there didn't seem to be as many options. We ordered half a dozen oysters which used to come with a variety of dressings to try but now only comes with one. My partner had the baked burrata which had a little too much vinegar in it but the cheese itself was beautiful. I had the Scotch fillet steak medium rare but it came out quite rare. Lovely steak but I probably should've sent it back as it affected the enjoyment of my meal. That's my mistake. The truffle mac and cheese is no longer a side either, absolutely devastated at this as it was a favourite of ours. Unfortunately we probably won't come back in a while as we were quite disappointed, which breaks my heart as I honestly used to love this restaurant.
