James: Worst customer service! Called in the morning asking specifically about Colorado Blue Spruce The older lady rushed the conversation, and stated yet to having Blue Spruce in stock. Drove 40km to their shop to be told they sold out last week. This has got to be the most pathetic customer service.

Annie Tran: I’ve bought from here before and last year I had a very positive purchasing experience. The tree I got was 6 foot and with preservatives it did deteriorate fast. It lasted just until Christmas (about three weeks) but it was my first time and I thought maybe my expectations were too high. For last year’s experience I’d have given a 4/5.I’ve decided to go back this year and was unable to get a six foot tree. I came later in the day so that’s my own fault. The five ft trees were really unimpressive so I got a four ft one. Whilst the gentleman who helped me pick a tree and carried it to my car was wonderful, the cashier put a real bad taste in my mouth. She was not helpful, very short, actually didn’t even look at me when I was speaking to her. Amongst other things, she gave me responses like, “Nope, none” and “From memory, I don’t know”. From memory, she doesn’t know? Hmm ok. What does that even mean. She just wanted me to pay and get out. This was around 2pm so it’s not like it was the end of a long day if I’m trying to justify her bad customer service. Already, I’d give this experienceA 2/5 and any changes to this will depend on the life and quality of my little tree. So I’ll give it a 3/5 average for now and that’s being a bit optimistic. I’m going to try elsewhere next year.

Everyone who works there is so lovely, I presume they are all family, but even if not everyone there is a Merlino, you couldn’t tell! The only problem I have with the entire experience is that we only get to do it once a year. Great people, great set up. Thank you for being one of our Christmas traditions!

Cameron: The prices are steep. Although, they have some great looking cut trees. The potted trees, namely pine, don't look so nice though. The potted spruce is nice. The potted blue price is meh but that might just be my preference.

Jodi Burns: Shocking experience here, went to buy a real tree and they wanted $250 for it. This is absurd pricing and just taking advantage of people after universally a rough few years for everyone. Ended up getting a wonderful tree for half that price elsewhere that is still going strong. Go elsewhere if you want good service and value for money.

Gemma Toogood: My Christmas tree was completely dead a 10days after buying it from them. I purchased a green tree for (what I thought was pretty expensive) $150 on the 4th December. As soon as we got it home we realised, it didn't even smell. Not even two weeks later and the tree is brown and dead. We made sure there was water daily because we saw it's fairly steep decline. This has never happened until late January before. They are impossible to get hold of, the phone rings out and emails go unanswered. Of course this would have to happen the year all the family are over from around the world and we are hosting at our place, gah!Instead of buying your tree here, spend the time to drive to a tree farm, it'll be more joyful and the tree will last at least a month. And you wont have to deal with the worlds worst customer service!

David Ivanovski: Don’t waste your time coming here. Everything is so overpriced. The quality is absolutely terrible. Christmas lights are at least 3x more expensive than Bunnings, Kmart or anywhere else. The Christmas trees are ridiculously priced, upwards of $300 minimum for a very average tree. Anything decent size is $500+. Decorations, all cheaply made from China. A plastic cup with a Santa and straw is $12, reduced from $18.. it’s just not right. This should be no more than $2. Overall, a very disappointing experience and will never go there again.

Sam Peters: Real Christmas tree prices have really gone up, all $50-$100 more than previous years - and of course no prices on website or even shown at the store, you have to ask. e.g. 6ft tree is now $250. Woolworths and Coles are selling pretty comparable trees at $100.

Sara Wickert: I had a terrible experience with this shop. I was rushed into buying a tree by a pushy salesman who assured me I could return the tree if it was too big. I got it home and realised it was too big, but when I tried to return it they refused to let me saying the box had to be unopened - which was not communicated to me when I purchased it. Emese P Shores: A bossy shop assistant was going around telling all lights are 20% off only today. She approached us at least 3 times, offered help etc. When were paying, she ordered the cashier to wear mask immediately because the case numbers are increasing. She didn’t care we are there waiting for her to finish the lecture.The 20% did not apply and we asked the cashier. She cut off and said that the discount applies for the LED lights not for the solar, and there is no sign at the solar section. Well she had said ‘all lights’.We bought the lights but the whole shopping experience was unpleasant.

Lovely, helpful, ample amounts of staff who were more than happy to duck out the back to grab a 5ft tree for my partner and myself after there were only a few small ones in the warehouse we didn't particularly like the look of (apartment living am I right?) we were in and out with a netted tree in less than 20 mins, and one of the lovely young guys carried it to our car that was parked across the road.Yes, the parking situation looks like it could be an issue during very busy times being on a very busy main road, but I guess we were lucky at 10am on a Sunday.The comments here about their Christmas being ruined are laughable. Some perspective could go a long way.Looking forward to coming back next year.

Bare Beauty House: We love coming here every year. The team are always friendly and the trees are beautiful and last ages. We always find some gorgeous new decorations from Santa’s workshop!We even got bogged this year due to the big rains and the owner got 7 of his boys together in a matter of minutes to help push us out. We cannot recommend this place enough!

No signs of process to follow, nothing clearly marked anywhere and completely under staffed.Family went looking for a tree and then when we found one we liked spent over 30mins walk-in aground trying to find someone to tag tree we wanted before giving up as there were so many others frustrated like us waiting.The parking is a COMPLETE DISASTER and dangerous. Cars parked everywhere and I honestly don’t recommend you waste your time coming here. You are much better off going somewhere else.It’s such as shame as the experience could be so much better given the premium you pay for a tree than what the owners have chosen to do.Hope this helps and don’t say you have not been warned !

Felicia Fan: Very very rude owner, even we have made our appointment over the phone several days ago and kept checked with the team three times before we went there, they said yes, there won't be a charge for just a site visit. But before we head to the farm and we just wanted to check if someone is there at that time, the owner said, oh, we need to charge a fee for your visit.Even we explained many times that we just want to have a look at this farm to see if it is good for our Christmas photo session. We won't take any model or family there for a marketing photoshoot and not take any photos even with our phone. The owner kept saying that she is not stupid by using a very contemptuous tone and she wanted to charge a $120 fee to make sure we were not taking any advantage of her and her business. Please explain here, with no model just the photographers visiting the farm, what kinds of advantage we could possibly take?We are all professionals and we know how hard this COVID pandemic impacts small businesses. If everything goes well we want to support our local businesses in our way. We definitely won't risk our reputation and try to sneak in the farm just to avoid a reasonable $120 marketing photo feeThe entire team said yes to the same visit conditions overtimes at the beginning and suddenly changed on the day by the owner. For this entire conversation, I never used any abusive words just felt we were not trustworthy and felt disappointed and uncomfortable by the owner's aggressive attitude. Warming to other photographers, there are other beautiful Christmas tree farms around that area and the owner is very supportive in a warm and nice way. For this farm, the only thing I want to say is good luck and I am starting to understand that why their Google rating is so low.

Michi Krei: I went there a few weeks ago to have a look. My family tradition is to only put the tree up on the 24th so I wanted to buy it as late as possible. A staff member told me that they have beautiful fresh trees all the way up to the 23rd and it was fine to come back a week before Christmas. No reserving or Taging possible.I came back on the 18th only to find that they had no more 7 foot trees left and only a few poor quality 8 foot trees which they were still expecting to sell at full price. Go there early and/or tag a tree (they only do that on one weekend). My Christmas is destroyed and I have learned my lesson not to trust the staff at Dural Christmas Tree Farm.

Walk from Wynyard train station George street exit. Combine this with seeing the David Jones Christmas windows (see pic). Grab dinner at one of the many restaurants two of our favourite are restaurant Felix ( bigger groups) and Bistro Papillon ( couples and solo’s). Pubs and bars a plenty around here too.Martin Place is multi layered with steps up to various levels and leads to Macquarie street.
