shixuan ding: 5月13，14号两天在我猛哥和韦哥的悉心指导下成功完成了AOW的测试。这是我第一次在悉尼潜水，也是第一次接触岸浅，因为住的比较远所以要早上五点多起床准备。说实话第一天去 the steps第一潜结束后拿着气瓶爬台阶真的是很大的挑战，我本身体重基数就比较大，当时真的有点儿想放弃了，一想到还要备着气瓶爬上爬下两次就感觉太难了。但猛哥和韦哥一直在鼓励我们，细心指出我们刚才潜水中出现的各种问题并帮我们一一解决。当时感觉很难再有机会在澳洲找到这么好的中文潜水教练了，想着抓住这次机会再拼一拼。当第二次下水在水下看到和我之前在热带潜水完全不同的地貌和生物（海龙，海兔，鹞鱼，第二天还看到了grey nurse shark 和 wobbegong）之后就感觉一切都是值得的。虽然我技术还不是很熟练，着两天的潜水让我更加热爱这项运动了，真的很喜欢这种探索未知领域的感觉。以后也会继续在abyss跟着猛哥和韦哥潜水的！

LD: I recently completed the open sea diving certificate at Abyss. I was quite fortunate to have Marcus as my diving instructor. He was genuinely friendly, patient, kind and caring. He did not make me feel stupid when I asked questions (even if I have asked it before) and he gave me the confidence to progress with the skills challenges and complete the program!I understand that it is possible for certain instructors to be irritated with students and can be a bit passive-aggressive with their responses which discourages questions - this was the case with the other instructor we had on the first training session! Thankfully Marcus was quite the opposite - he made the learning experience fun and enjoyable!Highly recommend Marcus at Abyss Scuba Diving!

Alex Carr: Did my Open Water Course with Abyss and it was great! We completed the ocean dives off Bare Island which was a really cool spot and we saw a lot of marine life including octopi, stingrays and catfish. The course was very well run and my instructor, Aaron, was amazing. I had quite a lot of anxiety on my first dive but his encouragement both above and below water made me feel completely ease. I'll definitely be booking my advanced open water course with them.

Jodic Chan: I got my Open Water Licence with Abyss, and have been on recreational dives with them to Magic Point and The Steps. The team at Abyss goes above and beyond every time, and there is strong emphasis on safety. Highly professional and they will teach you everything you need to know. Dives are also well-organised and renting gear is easy.

Kate Bolas: My daughter and I did our Advanced Open Water with Abyss and it was absolutely fabulous. I've dived with many dive shops around the world and this would have to be right up there as one of the best.Any questions we had before we booked were answered swiftly and concisely. All our gear was ready for our arrival and the dive shop has some tempting kit if you're in the market.The custom built dive boat is sensational with massive engines for a quick trip as well as fin friendly ladders. Marty the skipper knew exactly what he was doing and the trip to and from the dive site was half the fun.Our Dive Master Christy was uber experienced with over 2,000 dives under his belt. He is funny, kind, patient and very knowledgable. We were in safe hands.The dives to Magic Point were an excellent start with Grey Nurse and massive Wobbegong sharks and a very friendly blue grouper. 3 shore dives off the steps at Kurnell made for a super interesting second day. Sea horses, beautiful weedy sea dragons, octopus and squid ticked the fun box after the navigation exercises. The exit onto the rocks was a little tricky but the Abyss boys were all there to lend a hand.The icing on the cake was when two seals arrived just as we'd exited and taken off our gear. It was a mad dash to throw on a mask and fins to head back in to play with the pups.Then back to base for beer and pizzas with the Abyss crew. What a weekend, just the BEST!

Lucy Snowball: My 14 year old newly accredited diver had a great day with Abyss diving, two dives with great visibility and lots to see. The team were very helpful and provided him with lots of support.

Glen Boultwood: Took my daughter out for her first dive post open water to Magic Point with Abyss. Didn't expect much as last time I dived in Sydney many moons ago the visibility was close to zero.Ended up being one of my best dives with around 4 wobbegong sharks and at least 8 grey nurse sharks and 15 to 18 metre visibility.Ended up in the middle of a yellowtail bait ball as some kingfish came in for a feed.Thank you Rachael and Abyss for getting me excited about diving in Sydney again.

This was a fantastic experience for them which could be measured by their beaming smiles when they got out of the water. They spotted an octopus, stingray and multiple varieties of fish. Paul Thibedeau: TLDR: Dive Centre Bondi has a great team, service is as spectacular, and Roberto was an awesome and caring dive master!Dive Centre Bondi did a great job at providing me with an awesome and fun experience doing shore diving in Sydney while visiting from New York City.Upon showing up to the shop, I met Woody and Roberto who immediately made me feel welcomed and cared for in getting me setup with a proper fitting wetsuit, BCD, and reg.We decided to head out to the nature trail on Gordons Bay with a small crew (4 of us including Roberto, the divemaster). We did two dives in this location.I really appreciated the small group, because Roberto was able to really make sure we were all comfortable and cared for both in and out of the water. I even had some regulator issues and he quickly sorted it while I was off grabbing a sandwich. Thanks man!The diving was spectacular, Roberto really knew how to find the small sea life hiding within the rocks and shelves. We spotted some other great life such as sea turtles, squid, big stingrays, and much more.Thanks for the awesome adventures and I look forward to following your Instagram page for that amazing underwater photography and you’ve helped influence me as well! I went back to the shop the next day to buy a torch to help with photos, and Woody helped me find the right one that would work for me.Only thing that would make this dive Centre better is if they had a boat for some off shore diving!Thanks all, look forward to diving with y’all again when I’m back in Sydney.

Steven Rudman: DisappointingThe shop is great with a nice range of gear, however the prices are sky high and you can expect a lot of attitude when warranty work is requested, finally I recommend getting quotes for all work in WRITING or you'll be paying a lot more than the quoted amount when you collect your gear.

James Beresford: This is not a place to bring gear to be fixed - took it in and two weeks later now one knew where it was - the person who took responsibility was on holidays and no body knew anything.Go in week or two later and still nothing on the system. Rather than own the problem and apologise the young guy become defensive and condescending.Still rather than manage a clients bad experience he says “come and get your gear in 1.5 hours”. Totally unprofessional and disappointing from a clients perspective - easy to use but I wouldn’t use the again.

You can really tell that every single person that works there actually loves their job. I'd especially like to shout out our instructor Daniel, who managed all our newbie stresses really well, and did such a good job keeping us comfortable and relaxed at all times.Some of my own personal highlights during my first 4 dives:- 1,5 m Wobbegong shark chilling under a big rock- a tender hand/tentacle moment between an octopus and our instructor- a very curious Blue Grouper who followed us around, waiting for someone to grab him an urchinOverall, there really is no doubt in my mind that I'll be back to do more dives with ProDive!

Ke Fe: I had the worse experience attempting to complete a refresher dive course with Daniel (from Pro Dive Coogee) during my visit to Sydney. In short, the instructor and the group kept leaving me, even after I stated at least 3 times I have having issues or some anxiety, and I ended up swimming back to shore by myself because I could not signal to them I needed assistance (one of my fins came off, and since I was not weighted properly I could not go deeper to grab them) because they were all deeper than me and swimming away. I was not weighted properly, the instructor did not assign buddies, it was kind of fend for yourself type of situation.I did a review with the company that they sent via link, but no one has reached out to me to discuss my experience or what could be better in the future. I never received any email or follow up after the incident from the dive instructor himself either. These people do not care about safety or proper diving protocols. The area they chose to do the refresher dive was also not appropriate, it was quite wavy, the current was a little too strong, and the conditions were not great that day. The instructor also did not let me do things the way I have in the pass (such as putting on my fins while I am still able to stand in the water, usually waist deep, then swimming out the rest of the way, as opposed to inflating my bcd, floating out, and struggling to put on my fins because it was my first time wearing a wet suit that was very tight and hard to move in, and with the waves and current pulling me farther away from the group). It took him a while to come an assist me and he pretty much let me struggle for a while before coming over to help me. Whenever I did catch up to the group, I was not given adequate time to catch my breathe which probably also contributed to my issues with being able to go deeper. I was at the surface the whole time. Again, there was no buoyancy test to check to see if we were weight properly. I watched everyone complete their full mask removal below me, but I was unable to complete my mask removal test because I was floating up at the surface (yes BCD was fully deflated). All the instructor did was signal for me to go down/deeper than proceeded to swim away from me with the group. I tried to come down but I could not, and then my fin came off, and I could not retrieve it or signal help because the instructor and group literally swam away from me, knowing I was having issues with buoyancy.The whole experience was scary and rocked my confidence, and I did not feel safe because the group kept leaving me. I was halfway back to shore when the dive instructor did not realize I was with the group anymore.I had a much better experience the next day with another dive company and I was able to successfully complete 2 dives without any issues. They did have to add weight after they did a buoyancy check and I ended up needing 21 lbs total to be able to dive properly.Pro dive will probably not be my choice of dive center in the future. Even when I was trying to check in with the instructor he dismissed me and sent me to someone else to check in, when it was him I was supposed to check in with anyway!I did email Pro Dive after the incident later that day to ask the instructors name and to try to leave a review or something. Again, Danial or anyone else from Pro Dive did not attempt to reach me at all. I stated that I did not want a refund, I just wanted to leave a review /comment so that Daniel can make adjustments for future divers who have not dived in a while and may have some anxiety around diving again. I got an email with the instructor's name and was told to leave a review, which I did via the link I was sent a few days later. No response or feedback received.

They ensure that the most fun will be maximised along side with well trained safety. Great humour along side the whole experience made it very comfortable. I recommend Pro Dive even if you have a fear or diving or deep water, they create a easy experience for you.

Stu Ram: I’ve just completed my open water certification with Pro Dive Alexandria.Our instructor Pedro from Portugal did a great job in making the course a fun but professional experience. I was well guided in the entire process from theory to ocean dives, and the bbq at the end of the course was a nice social touch to round things out and share experiences with my course mates.I’ll definitely be booking in for the advanced course and further dives with the Pro Dive team.Well done.

Shannon H: Went to get a dive computer and a new pressure gauge for my regulator. Got my basic dive computer that did all I need, finding out it was on sale on being rung up. Was offered two models of pressure gauges with integrated hoses. The higher quality one turned out to be the less expensive one. Sales guy was helpful and direct, friendly, and did not try to sell me anything more than what I needed and wanted.

Virginia Burns: I was very apprehensive going into the course, particularly about breathing. I left the course without any worries and excited to dive. Our instructor, Bruno, was great at making us feel safe and in tune with everything going on around us. He showed a lot of patience when we needed it, and pushed us when we were ready. Especially when it came to slippery/wavy shore launches, Bruno was on top of making sure everyone made it into the water safely and was comfortable before helping the next student. During our dives, he had some great wildlife spots and made sure that our whole group could take a look before moving on. All of the other instructors were kind, helpful, and supportive as well. Would definitely recommend!

Mia O'Brien: Most incredible and rewarding experience! We're already talking about our next holiday where we can make use of our open diver certification. Ralf was our diving instructor and he was one of the best aspects of our whole experience. A calm and clear communicator with a great sense of humour - he put us all at ease and ensured we had a fun time. We were inspired hearing about his diving adventures. Over the course of the weekend we did four dives which were all at great locations here in Sydney, all very accessible. We loved every moment

Sydney B: Did my Open Water and Advanced Courses through Pro Dive Alexandria and that was awesome. I signed up for a package to progress to do my divemaster because I had such a great experience. After moving to the Northern Beaches I changed to Pro Dive Manly (Brookvale) and the communication with the dive shop has been very poor. It’s discouraged me from wanting to dive here and progress to divemaster. The last few experiences I’ve had here have been very unorganized.However, in the past I’ve always had an awesome experience on the boat with Marc and other staff. That’s a five star experience. If you’re looking to do a couple dives off the boat or one course I would recommend Pro Dive.

Haz L: Did the 2.5 day open water course. Great and efficient. Sam was excellent as the instructor. Pacing of the course itself was good - some pretty long days but expected as squeezing in quite a lot of knowledge and upskilling over the weekend. By the end of the weekend we were all very comfortable with scuba diving as they really instill good safety practices.

Alexander Lohrer: Did the open water diving course and the experience was fantastic. Apo and Will where our instructors and did a great job. The environment was safe but they made it fun as well. Highly recommend.

Kylie Stormborn: I suggest ProDive Manly for the Open Water 20 Course!! I personally think Apo and Will were great. I was quite anxious about certain skills, but with their encouragement, expertise and patience I felt comfortable. Will was my instructor this weekend, and he went through the skills slowly and was happy to repeat. For a few times I struggled with some certain skills, he offered assistance and encouragement when it was needed. For the last dive of the course, I felt comfortable and finally was excited about the diving experience. Will constantly checked that we were all okay, which made me feel we were all in good hands. Do not let the first whole day turn you away! Keep going and know that it is very worth it! The rest of the team Kevin and Daniel were also very nice, funny and approachable! Thank you again Will and Apo for the amazing experience and encouragement!

Jaymee Tinney: Great experience getting my open water certificate here - Apo was an excellent instructor and Daniel and Will were amazing teachers too! Highly recommend, the skills are hard to learn at first but the crew teach amazingly and by the end you will feel very accomplished

Monique Tyacke: Absolutely loved the 2.5 day weekend Open Water PADI Course. The dive instructors Keith and Phillip made learning everything fun. Learning in Victoria Park pool first was great. Felt completely comfortable diving in the ocean at Clifton Gardens twice on Saturday and Shelly Beach twice on Sunday. Exhausting but well worth it! Absolutely recommend Pro Dive Manly.

Jules: KEVIN & APPO ARE THE BEST.This was my first time scuba diving. Kevin was “in my group” and my instructor. He was so patient and kind from beginning to end. I tend to have a lot of anxiety when it comes to new adventures. I signed up anyway despite my fears because I wanted to add a new skill to my “life check-list.”I started off struggling which was weird because I know how to swim. If you can name something that can go wrong, I probably did it incorrectly at the start of the course... I was the first one to panic and swim to the top of the pool, mentally/internally screaming…pretty much the entire time. I must have asked to give up at least five times. I have to say: If I can survive scuba diving, you can too!!Kevin was persistent and kept encouraging me. He never once gave up on me, whereas I feel most might have quit on me. I left the course feeling way better than I did at the beginning all thanks to Kevin. I think he’s a great asset to ProDive. He has an extremely calm demeanor and personality that you don’t really find very often.Thanks, ProDive!!
