Bankstown Star Buffet: what do users think?
Hannes: During my recent visit to Star Buffet, I encountered a significant line upon arrival at 5:30 on a Sunday; however, I was pleasantly surprised by its rapid movement. The variety of food options intrigued me, but unfortunately, the overall quality fell short of my expectations. Particularly at the sushi place, the absence of salmon and the cheap quality of the remaining sushi left much to be desired. While the service was satisfactory with freshly prepared food, the experience, although enjoyable, wouldn't entice me to choose it over other available options in the future.

Maipon Clemonte: Everything about this buffet is good better than most only thibg that could improve is replacement of food sometimes in 1 hour get up 3 times and each time have to sit back down and wait for food to be refilled especially the duck cuts the duck then gone and have to wait for them to chop more empty quite a bit other little issue people are rude and walk straight infront of you as if not there and dont wait there turn apart from this buffet is good and one of the best out thereParking: GoodDietary restrictions: Good
Sam Hewitt: Went at 5:30 on a Friday. There was a small line-up but once we entered I was thoroughly impressed with the size and variety of the buffet. I am a very big eater and was unable to make it through the whole dessert bar which was very extensive.Staff were very attentive and I saw frequent cleaning. It's quite a spacious buffet so there's no crowds to fight through.I will be returning with a different game plan now that I've tried everything. I would honestly pay $100 for this buffet and still not be disappointed.
M J: Atmosphere is nice and spacious, very expensive to eat in, had to become a member of the club to get in to the restaurant which was also expensive and something I’d never use again… They offered me a birthday voucher which could only be used at certain time on weeknights. Which was useless to anyone that has a 9-5 job. The food was below average, dry, dull, tasteless. Not an overall great experience unfortunately.

Jennifer L: The space is a lot bigger now, the food is good, good range of everything from Chinese bbq to fried and steamed food. They had 3 soup options, congee, stir fry, chicken nuggets, spaghetti, wide range of salads, dim sums, roast meats and vegs, sushi train (not by order though, so sometimes there's a small line of 3 people waiting for seaweed salad or ginger), good range of desserts (hot and cold), chocolate fountain, fruits and ice-cream.Service was good, there are plenty of staff that help clear your dishes frequently, they're friendly and helpful. Atmosphere seems a lot cleaner and brighter. Great price for the quality and amount of food.Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of space for wheelchairs and has lifts.

JG: Exceptional value, and a wide variety of choices. The Asian food does taste a lot better than the Western options, and the fruit in winter doesn’t taste the best (but that’s to be expected). I would like to see more dessert options in the future.Keep in mind this isn’t the place for a romantic date or a night of relaxation. Went on a Friday night and there was deafening loud live music from downstairs which affected my experience as I couldn’t even have a conversation with my party. Also as this is a family friendly venue, be prepared to be bumped by uncontrolled children who run around causing chaos.

Nigel Sharp: Amazing food and excellent service. We went on our 15 year wedding anniversary and were treated with a nice little plate with a 'happy anniversary' chocolate sign. It really was a lovely touch and made us feel quite special. We enjoyed the music that was playing in the venue and the waitresses were all very polite. Looking forward to coming back for our next anniversary celebration!
Sandra Pelfrey: I would definitely NOT recommend this activity. I booked the Infinity dinner for myself and my daughter over 6 months ago. We went on Friday, May 26th after arriving in Sydney. We were looking forward to this very much. First, our reservation was for 8:15 pm. We didn’t get called until 8:35. (This was something that can be understandable) That being said, there were empty tables when we got up there so there was no reason for us to have had to wait. Next, we ended up at a buffet instead of the Infinity dinner that I had reserved. Had I have wanted a buffet, I would have reserved a buffet. My daughter and I were hungry so we just went to the buffet. The food was HORRIBLE!!! Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! My daughter tried the food and ended up not liking it so she just ate the soup. I tried everything on the buffet and didn’t like it so I decided to just try the desserts. As I was walking back to the table, I noticed a hair on the plate. Thinking I was surely imagining it, I pulled the hair. It was literally embedded in the cake. The entire piece moved when I pulled it. I called the server over and showed him. God as my witness, he picked the piece of cake up BY THE HAIR and walked away with it. I have never, ever, ever seen anything like this before. It was like it was part of the ingredient. I told my daughter to finish her soup and we were leaving. She wanted dessert but I told her just stay away from it. I wasn’t about to tell her what happened as she would have gotten sick immediately. The server came over, apologized and offered us a complimentary drink. I refused the offer and we left. Looking back, I should have asked for the manager and showed them the hair in the cake. Much, much to my regret I didn’t. This was an absolute disaster of an experience. I paid for The Infinity dinner and ended up at a buffet with hair in my dessert. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place!!!! I wouldn’t even recommend it to anyone - ever!!!!
Paige K: Food was decent, we really enjoyed the pasta and Asian options. Kids really loved the novelty of the restaurant spinning.Service was average, we arrived in the restaurant where a grumpy woman held her hand out for our ticket then said follow me and turned around. No hello, welcome, nothing. Handed our ticket to someone else and walked off. We were seated by a nice fellow but he looked a bit lost. We all left the table and grabbed some food to come back to our table and being told that we got moved. It was something different as we usually go to Harvest Buffet at the Star. The Star is cheaper and more options available but the view is amazing and entertaining for the kids at Skyfeast.Such a shame the first impression wasn’t very welcoming and friendly.Could use improvements for the price, more fruit, some pizza for the kids and deli meats that don’t contain pork.

Joy Veg Fruit Dining Belmore: what do users think?
Young L (ylee201): Quite liked this place for vegan dining.only side note is plan and avoid peak-time, orders could come out slow relatively...The foods are decent, for Vegan.
Kenshin Himura: Vegan best , very tasty food and nice environment
Will Douglas: The food is well presented and service is friendly.
Jeff Chin: For a change of palates - what do you feel like eating? Have been to this a couple of years before. Facility has not changed but certainly the presentation and food has. Practically fine dining vegetarian by it creative chef. Also has cooking classes, I believe. Worth returning.Vegetarian options: Meat stuffed tofu in mushroom sauce and lobster leg with honey sauce, wholegrain steamed rice and burdock herbal soup... house tea. Totally vegetarian!
Kimboroonie: DeliciousFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Joe Zhou: A vegan restaurant that won’t let you down.
David Chen: Just a heads up, the prices might be a bit on the high side, but the service is super friendly and welcoming. Now, let me tell you, the presentation and flavors of the dishes are absolutely beautiful. If you're looking for a recommendation, I'd definitely suggest trying the handmade vegetarian fish deep-fried with sweet and sour sauce – it's seriously delicious!Oh, and the new menu is mostly made up of shared dishes, which is perfect if you're going with a group of 3-4 people. One last thing – don't forget to ask for their chili sauce! It's seriously amazing and goes well with pretty much any dish on the menu.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan optionsDietary restrictions: Suitable for those on Buddhism diet (excluding allium vegetables, such as garlic, onion, leeks, chives, and scallions)
Casey Leung: Disappointed 🙁We are returning customer and had dinner at this restaurant for over 5 times. The quality is not as good as before to encourage me to give anymore higher rating.Price increased but the dish portion is much smaller than before. Paid $50/p but got the food which not worth it. Dish option is less than before too. Taste is just so far so good after changing the chef. Environment is good as it’s quite quiet and clean. Only go there if you want a quiet place to have vegetarian meal otherwise not really recommend.
Daisy Xu: Do not go to this place unless you are ready to wait for over an hour for the your order 🙃Food: 5/1|Service: 5/1|Atmosphere: 5/1 …More
Belinda Sinclair: Went here with my partner and there are a few things to note. 1) It's all about the food. The yummy, satiating and creative food. We loved the duck pancakes and veg not-fish. 2) if you are looking for a pumping, rowdy place to eat with a few mates, this won't be to your liking. The place is QUIET. You can hear conversations on the next table so you tend to keep your voice down. We went at 6.30 and it was just starting to get busy as we left. If you find regular venues hard to hear people because of ambient noise, you will enjoy this place. 4) It's associated with the Buddhist mission downstairs. There is no alcohol on the menu, but you can BYO.5) The service is OK. We asked for table water and they only gave a glass to my partner as the person asking. A few little things like that but very courteous and friendly.Do I recommend it? It is no frills in many ways, but with some of the best restaurant vegetarian food I've had. So, yes, go try it if you're looking for something different.Parking: Side street parking and limited underground parking
Annie Chau: Tasty vegetarian food. Will definitely go again.

Penny Worthington: As a vegetarian this place has always done a great job with satisfying my taste buds. The menu looks quite plain and descriptions are a little vague but I tell you when the food comes it’s delicious. The vegan citronella beef grains ( sounds strange but it’s amazing) and deep fried mushrooms are incredible! I love going here it’s a very relaxing ambience and always kind service, the gentleman that works the front and serves the food is so kind and helpful.Vegetarian options: All vegan dishes
Tony Ng: Decided to give this a place a try based on the reviews and turned out to be pretty good! Something different and good place to start if you want to try vegetarian for the first time! The highlight was the "Monkey Head mushroom"!You have to catch a lift to access the restaurant :)
JT: Good food and good service 👌

Sen Sen: I'm an honest google review. This is my first and last dining at Kitchen on Kent at Langham. I have no good experience. The host/ waitstaff aren't friendly, not even shown positive gesture, not smile, showing no care with guests. My expectation, though, is that 5 stars dining Langham would be more amazing compared with its competitor Epicurean at Crown. Epicurean at Crown has more varieties of international dishes, modern and the staff are friendly; professional; cares with guests.Once arrived and sit on my table, I need to wait more than 15min for having a glass of water, it's a crucial letting a guest waiting for tap water and hand towel wasn't ready as well until I washed my hand at the toilet. It's unfair for guest, paying a same price on weekdays but special menu only available on Monday (Lobster), Wednesday (Beef Wellington), Friday (Chilli Crab) hence Tuesday and Thursday booking have no special menu meanwhile we paying the same price. Some small items such as straws at drink bobba tea and tea spoon for dessert were empty until I needed to use regular spoon and drink the bobba without straws.I celebrated the anniversary and thought we would receive a complimentary decorations cake (which I saw on social media), but in the end, I received nothing. My partner was a bit upset, honestly.Staff just sent me a bill to pay and said our time has ended.Overall, I just feel an average with this kitchen. I rather prefer Epicurean at Crown, pay a bit more, but worth for great dining experience.
Ben Tong: Nice placeVegetarian options: Buffet styleKid-friendliness: Yes
Steffanie Theola: Disappointed with the experience. Have high expectation with the food variety but turn out the food variety below average. The special food only be made on the specific day while we pay same price. We celebrated anniversary, saw the pastry chefs prepare it but the section waiter not even give it to us and yet we being remind to pay the bill to be kicked out.Water not being poured when we arrive need to wait 15 mins only for water.Staff not attentive enough to look after the guest. Overall bad bad experience for our special occasion for tonight.
Michelle Menjivar: Wonderful experience, great attentive service, scrumptious buffet, the best in Sydney after trying 7 different hotel buffets, highly recommended!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Carvery, Dessert Station, Sushi and Sashimi, Australian Seafood Display …More
Marianne: The service and atmosphere were excellent, creating a delightful dining experience. The seafood and sashimi were of high quality, and the pizzas were delicious as well. I like the idea of the option to request custom-cooked dishes such as noodles, stir-fries, grilled prawns, fish, and skewers (beef, chicken ).However, at a price of $138 per head, the buffet seemed overpriced and didn't offer an extensive selection, especially when it came to hot food options and no lobster at that time. The Asian section lacked spring rolls, fried rice, and only had a limited choice of dumplings and a couple of Asian hot dishes( I think 2 to 3 options only). In the Japanese section, there were only three sushi options and seaweed available. The Western section didn't include beef sirloin or side dishes like vegetables, mashed potatoes, or chips. Soft drinks, coffee, and tea were not included, and there was no soup on offer. I think on cheese section only one bread is available. The dessert was disappointing, with a lack of flavor or taste, although the ice cream stood out as a tasty choice. As for fruits, only strawberry, pineapple and rockmelon were available. The juice lacked taste and resembled water.Comparatively, Harvest Buffet at the Star offers a superior experience and better value for the price.
Mila T: There are so many selections from Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Indian, seafood, BBQ, and make your own Chatime. The desserts section was mouth-watering. All those little cakes are amazing. The staffsParking: Valet from the hotel or otherwise paid parking somewhere closer.
Tristan Kan: There food range was really small the quality of the food was great but the staff was friendly but was very slow at everything and they don’t come and collect any of the plates and the refill of the bubble tea was very slow. But the bubble tea was okey. AND they decided NOT to put up the Mango green tea and put peach jasmine tea and absolutely zero range of Perls will I see others with a wide range of Perl AND with mango green tea.
Eduardo Dela Rosa: Family and friends have absolutely had a memorable and fantastic dinner at KOK. The food (from tonnes of choices, flavour, quality, and freshness) were all superb. It was the first time for me, my family and friends to visit this place and I can vouch for its family-friendly atmosphere and ambiance. All staff were so welcoming, friendly, and helpful - and looked after us all - particularly those with small children - throughout the dining experience.Heaps of thanks to all the staff (5:30pm 20-May-2023) who made our dining experience so memorable. Great customer service deserves great compliments from us customers. Will definitely come and visit again.
jack: Went for dinner on mothers day. Incredible service, everyone was so friendly and the food quality is up there. Great selection of seafood and cuisines. Some of the food cooked to order including a grilling station. Dessert section includes a chocolate fountain, unlimited soft drinks and even a bubble tea sections. Definitely worth a visit
Therese L: Great experience. Really fresh seafood. The variety isnt as extensive as a lot of other buffets like the epicurean but what they do have is really amazing. Very beautiful restaurant.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Jonathan Wong: It is my first time to Kitchens on Kent at the Langham Hotel. The buffet dinner was simply excellent, the seafood were fresh and there were a large variety of desserts. I will definitely visit again as the service from the staff and chef were superb. But overall the atmosphere in the buffet was quite relaxing and with music and aromatic fragrance it made my experience more enjoyable.Parking: There are on street parking for 2 hrs which is more than enough time for the buffet.

Tristan Guo: It did not feel like a high end buffet restaurant, the food was just ok, many of the items were cooked to order and we had to remember to get the food ourselves after 10-15 mins as said by the ‘chefs’. With the 2 hour seating time this way of service was terrible, with the food being average the service provided felt like a food court with different cuisines but at the food court the food is still hot and served to you not u having to remember the time and go to pick up your food. The worst part was the seafood, the oysters were not skulked properly and the lobster on the night was dry bland over cooked and simply uneatable. The prawns was ok but submerged with msg. However the sashimi bar was good, but the ‘chefs’ don’t really know how to serve, placing the sashimi on my hot food… what the heck? There was minimal food that was actually prepared at the hot bar and the bubble tea was ok, there was only coke and Diet Coke at the soft drink bar… simply disappointing. The only good was the gelato which was good. To conclude this is not a buffet restaurant. Do not come here for buffet, but the afternoon tea is good.
Teh Say Chun: Extremely disappointing. Do not let the high price ($140 p/p) fool you, the food and overall buffet experience is really bad.Summary: The buffet selection is really small. Food is low quality. Service is subpar.Seafood section:- Oysters are really small, coin sized. What a joke, normal seafood shops don’t even sell oysters this small. They are also not shucked properly so almost everyone of them have shell fragments in the meat.- Bugs are not fresh enough, it’s very dry and smells a little.- Prawns are good.- Crabs are very small, not worth the effort eating.- The sashimi bar is the only section that is decent, but they only have three types of fish.Hot food:- there are less than 10 dishes across all cuisines to choose from. (E.g. 2 dish in Asian section, 2 in Indian section.) Very poor selection.- All the “hot” foot are not hot. They are barely warm!- The meat especially pork and beefy are all chewy and rubbery.Desert:- Cheesecake taste like literal cream cheese.- Stale waffles.- Really dry chocolate cake. Feels like it’s been sitting in the fridge for a long time. There are no hot beverages unless you pay extra to order. No fruits, no fried food if any kind.Service:- they do not clean your plate away while you get seconds.- fresh plates are often dirty with food marks, you have to go through to find clean onesThis place is truely shocking consider how much they charge u.
