Skip Ford: We had our 25th wedding anniversary dinner with overseas guests (they had chosen chiswick as one of their must visit venues while in Sydney for 4 days!) We could only get an 8.30pm booking as nothing else was available. After getting our guests on arrival and sitting they took a wine order and not 5 minutes later the share menu food started arriving, without a great deal of explanation. It kept arriving quickly and our first course was just about finished before our first drink arrived. We asked them of they could slow down as we were feeling rushed. All the food was lovely it was only the tuna that was underwhelming. The service was efficient but not super welcoming. Dessert was amazing and we had coffee. Not long after we were told that as it is residential the premises was to be vacated by 11pm no question. We were told this 3 times in a rather firm manner. Quite disappointing for our 25th anniversary celebrations and a boll of $1500.00 ! We won't be returning I'm a hurry.

Cleolin B: I enquired to have my wedding at this venue and was poorly taken care of by Sonja (event co ordinator). I left feeling really upset. She made a few racist remarks (whether she was aware or not, this woman needs to know how to speak to a range of customers). I’m of Asian background, Chinese to be exact. And I was quite taken back with some of the comments made by her. Here are some of the main ones:- We were set on having 120 guests (I have a big family) at the wedding. Her response? “Personally I would only like 80 max.” This is NOT your wedding (fortunately), and you’re trying to sell this venue to a customer. Your “personal” preference is not warranted.- Whilst showing us the menu, She went on about how her “white dad” doesn’t usually like Asian food but he loved the food at botanic house (really unsure of how saying your dad who doesn’t like or appreciate Asian flavours, somehow miraculously liking botanic house food is meant to sway me?).- continued to show us the dessert section and said “you know what they say about Asian desserts, they’re a bit offensive. But Luke does an amazing job at making them likeable.” You have got to be kidding me with this comment. My decision was already made at this point.- Sonja said “you could have the banh mi as canapés or snacks if you wanted.. to be honest they’re not something you’d want at a wedding. If I saw that, I’d be disappointed.” Again, pushing her PERSONAL preferences on us.- and lastly, her selling point was saying that Botanic House is a lovely venue to pay homepage to my background. She didn’t even bother to confirm what my background was.. I’m Aussie/Chinese. Botanic House is Modern Vietnamese. To conclude, I never went with this venue for my wedding, but her comments really stuck out to me. So much so I had to make this review. Sonja, I think it would be of benefit if you were able to get some lessons on how to be culturally sensitive to your customers and to not push your personal preferences on excited couples wanting to choose such a beautiful venue. If we were spoken to differently, we would have chosen Botanic House. Absolutely disgusted and disappointed with some of the remarks made. What I shared were just a few of the many shared during our appointment.

Alex Mackney: For the first night of Vivid, we had what was effectively a 9 course refined tasting menu with matching wines.Sitting at the large glass windows overlooking the Lightscape event we got to enjoy some of the lights during dinner before we went to the event later in the night. The food was brilliant. The staff were attentive and efficient.Although we opted for the more expensive dining experience for a birthday celebration, it wasn’t the only option available.Restaurant itself was lovely and quiet during our sitting. The Betel leaf was amazing.

Shammi Duggal: Very average food and service. Went their for dinner with family raked up a bill of $864 for 5 of us! Didn’t get the experience we were after.
Lindsay Walker: I took my wife and our 5yo for Mother's Day dinner (5:30pm). The service was excellent, the restaurant was beautiful and the shared tasting plate dinner was spectacular. My wife of Chinese background says it was the best Asian-inspired meal she's ever enjoyed.Kid-friendliness: The kid's meal, although quite expensive, was well-considered, generous and satisfied our 5yo.
Jacqueline Chow: Enjoyed a delicious Mother’s Day degustation at Botanic House for lunch. Every single course was unique, with subtle yet distinctive flavours with fresh herbs and produce. Botanic House team were very obliging and warm. Loved it
Denis Moore: A truly wonderful gourmet experience in a beautifully tranquil and leafy setting. 2 hrs of degustation and relaxation.Parking: Paid parking station a longways off under state library.
ben roper: Attended for wedding reception venue. Great meals with asian influences.Food: 5/4|Service: 5/2|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More

Stacey Hunter: Come here for views and outdoor dining in the middle of the city. And you'll pay accordingly. This is a fantastic rooftop spot with a nice selection of drinks and good food. It's thick with beautiful people grabbing pictures in the tower area, but there's lots of space on the expensive patio and indoors. It's not cheap, though. My friend paid $30 for a glass of wine from the Hunter Valley (not fancy French wine!). I was expecting the $9 half pint of beer, but honestly the wine was a bit shocking.Definitely a top rooftop place for a special night. To enter, go into the Westfield and go up to the 7th floor.
Stella Wrigley: Lovely food and great cocktails. Loved the many little small areas to dine in, not just one huge area.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More

Tony Val: Highly recommend this restaurant, pleasant service and interesting tasty food. The roast duck was superb, the vegetables in sauce tasty and cooked just right (very fresh and a little crunchy) as was the delicious spicy beef dish. I will visit again.

Tim: Have been coming to this place for years. The service is friendly and they remember who you are which is an added touch. The food is consistent and delicious... We recommend the salt and pepper calamari and pork ribs. There is a reason why this restaurant has survived all these years and more so through the pandemic... I look forward to many more years ahead. Thanks to all at Szechuan garden.
Kersh Siv: One of our favourite places to eat in the North Shore area! Food is delicious (our favourites are the pepper beef, schezuan chicken and sizzling prawns), service is always super friendly and they have a great selection of wine. This is also a great place for people who are celiac.
David Bui: Order the pork in foil (off menu!) - delicious
Benjamin Smee: Food: 5/3|Service: 5/3|Atmosphere: 5/1More
Tess Harris: Been coming here for over 10 years. So good, service and food!
Hugh Atkinson: Wonderfully prepared and served tasty food.
Kelly-Ann DANGERFIELD: Visiting from Brisbane kids said it's the best Chinese they have eaten!Everything was delicious.
Stephanie Lam: Professional services
Mark Young: Great Chinese. Pork ribs are to die for. Come back every month or so just for them
Scott Darlington: It’s really a step back in time to what the Chinese restaurant used to be 25 years ago. They haven’t moved on to modern times.Extremely overpriced for the small tasteless main courses. To call the menu a la carte is an embarrassment. If you want authentic Chinese food go somewhere else. It’s no wonder you never see many people eating inside except for the customers still stuck in the 1970’s.I really cannot understand the good reviews on this restaurant. My experience was nothing but very ordinary and unsatisfying.
Gail Russell: This is our 85th visit over ma y years. That number speaks for itself.
Michael Wiecek: Excellent food friendly and professional service.Highly recommended.
James Beattie: Used to come here often many years ago and had a chance to dine there again recently. The food here is still exceptional - definitely some of the best chinese in Sydney. The hot chicken in a wok is outstanding. However, the portion sizes of the mains are tiny, especially for the premium price point. The servings used to be much larger.
Paulette Clarke: Beautiful food, nice clean venue, close to accommodation, lovely staff. Best salt and pepper prawns I have had. We will return when next in St Leonards.

belinda kim hoang (bel): Absolutely a divine experience.Highly impressed with the vegetarian chefs menu. It looked identical to the main chefs menu despite 1 dish (wagyu) I had the beetroot one that looked like steak though. We shared the gantry experience matching wine and that was one of the highlight quality picked wines we've tasted.Very innovative flavours and beautiful, both menus were outstanding you don't feel like you're missing out if you're not vegetarian.Smoked tonburi is a Japanese ground caviar in the zucchini dish (video attached). That was one of the most unique and rare flavours I've never tasted before as a vegetarian.Definitely will return and recommend to family and friends.Vegetarian options: One of the best vegetarian chefs menu in Sydney. Highly thoughtful, innovative that looked identical to the main menu.
CN Review Andrew: fantastic
charlotte summers: Absolutely amazing restaurant. Food was fab, service was excellent, perfectly catered to allergies and definitely worth a visit. Wonderful owner and staff sorted everything so efficiently for our group of 18. Highly recommend!
Phil: Food OK to good but waiting more than 1 hour for oysters and some fruit is simply not acceptable. On top of that I had to get the menu myself as even after 15 minutes no one bothered to come outside and serve.
R C: So nice to be here. Beautiful place. I didn’t find the menu very appealing honestly and they were out of the good old hamburger option somehow. Great for a glass and a snack before hitting the next stop in your evening.

The Gardens By Lotus: what do users think?
Stella Kour: For an 80$ banquet yum cha menu it’s such a small amount of food more like a tasting menu, they love to say that it’s a reflection of the ingredients they use but it’s clearly not the case I could spend the same amount at the top and most popular yum cha restaurants in Sydney and get more than double what we were served. Nothing that we had was special or stood out, I can get the same tasting dumplings in the frozen isle at any grocery store, also the menu missed out of a lot of the best yum cha dishes that should’ve been included. Some dishes like the raw cabbage salad what a joke pointless item just to fill up the menu. The waiters kept serving us dishes that were meant to be for the table next to us multiple times was very unprofessional. So dissatisfied and disappointed will not be returning.
Salome ouaknine: Amazing food and amazing place !
Jenny Kim: Nice view but the food quality and taste could be better compare with what we paid ($88/pp)
James Beattie: Great food, service and experience. Chose a banquet option and had a great time. Extra person accommodated at the last minute-no problem. Easy recommend.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Bernie Good: Atmosephere should be 6 stars! We had a beautiful lunch for Mothers Day. Everything perfect and the added bonus of having access to the Friendship Garden really makes dining here a fabulous experience.Vegetarian options: My husband doesn't eat red meat so he was well catered for
Jessica Irving: What an amazing place, absolutely beautifully designed, a unique experience & delicious food. Will recommend to family and friends and come back again. Want to also visit their other locations. Do not miss out on trying!
audrey xu: We had the banquet, 88/per person, and it seemed expensive for the food we got. The food was average, the popcorn chicken was not fresh, and the duck pancakes tasted like the packed duck from Woolworth. The cocktail I ordered was half a glass. Where is the rest? It tastes like a chemical, properly the worst cocktail I ever tasted. Staffs seem out of space. I can’t hear what he said the whole time. There is a 20 mins wait between the entree and the main. Terrible experiences will not return.
ting pan: Kid-friendliness: 5 star view, located in a beautiful Chinese garden, the food and service is not worth how much you pay
Nirali Chaudhari: One of the most beautiful restaurants in Sydney. I was heartbroken that we had hardly 4-5 vegetarian options to eat but happy that there is something at least. HahaaHonestly, i loved it! Must try the Brussels sprouts and the desserts. Tea was yum
Heather Mires: Relaxing cafe next to the Chinese Garden of friendship. Food & service were pretty average but the environment was beautiful and relaxing. Good place to get a cup of tea and small bite to eat after your garden visit.
Ngoc Nguyen: Everything was fantastic, good food, great service, great vibe and view. The only downside was price point. $88 per head for a yumcha is relatively expensive in my opinion. But understandable given the location of the place, right next to a touristy attraction (being the Chinese Garden)Food: 5/4|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Mak Punjani: Food was great - good value for money. One of the older waitresses was quite rude twice during our visit when giving back the pram and hence the one star to reflect her attitude. The waitress who was service us and took order was very nice.
Austin Wang: 1) rarely refill the water 2) bad attitude 3)dumpling quality not good 4) missed 3 items in banquet, not sure if try to trick us 5)waited 40 min with no service on the table just waiting for a pork bunDietary restrictions accommodated Gluten free ...More
Elizabeth Ruther: Nice environment that’s it. Don’t bother going if you are after real Chinese food
juraj hubinsky: The food was really tasty, great presentation and spreading of the dishes so you feel like you are grazing and don’t feel rushed or overwhelmed. The service was exceptional, especially Daniel who was very attentive and professional.
Theo de Jager: Thank you for hosting our group of 30 on short notice and for being lovely Frederika , Tatjana, Daniel and Adrian.Food: 5/4|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More
June Woolcott: Amazing as usual! The food, wine, location and our wait staff were perfect. We were celebrating birthdays and the friendship our group had of 55 years.Such a magical spot .We will be back.Vegetarian options: Many to choose !
jeylotines: Nice atmosphere and great service. All staffs are so friendly and helpful especially the one who served me. Will come back again!!
Yihua Li: Terrible staff, never coming back
顺宇张: Bad customer service ever I had in Australia! I would chose zero star if allowed.Staff there are so rude and untrained, not sure why they exist and survive.

Chef Sun: I have had many places to visit having a cup of coffee in Sydney CBD.This place...One of the best coffee ever in Sydney! Try it & feel it♥
michael harrold: Pleasant escape from the city in the heart of the city
Sam: Great location
Theresa Tian: Nice and tasty food! Good service and atmosphere.
Karla Daniele: Great food however very poor customer service. I was charged for my table and another table. The employees knew they had done this as I watched them argue about what to do, this led me to having suspicions about their actions. Instead of being honest and letting me know about the mistake so I could get refunded, they just hoped I would not notice and leave. Upon leaving, I finally received my receipt via email with other food and drink which I did not receive or order, I returned to get a refund as their dishonesty was appalling. Won’t be returning here purely based on their dishonest mannerisms and not being genuine. They knew they did something wrong by their customer.
Robert Porte: Just walking by..
Anon Mous: A Nice little spot hidden away inside the building. Nice outside vibes bit with a bit of coverage and plenty of seating to relax with some friends.
Justin Patey: Lovely coffee and ham and cheese croissant!
Nigel Carson: Life changing pumpkin soup, pretty sure there was cream and bacon bits, whatever the case, worth it!

Jason Jang: The staffs are so friendly, and coffee is amazing. The best cafe in Sydney.
Luke Mackintosh: An oasis in the busy city. Set between the terraces of yesteryear and modern office towers. Feels a bit like Melbourne. Good wine list. Off street which is a win.
Tawfik Elgazzar: the most delicious quiche i’ve had in a long time! staff are absolute legends, and the coffee was flavoursome 🙂
Gary: Wonderful host! Atmosphere relaxed! What more could you ask for!
Jason S: Best coffee and best foods.I have been working coffee industry for a long as Qgrader and barista . So I consider myself as I am good at coffee but this is really different with the others.. not only coffee, the foods are so good as well. I am not working here but have a visit. You will never regret your decision and will get a great day with your favorite person
Milton Kim: My new favourite hidden restaurant. Their wine recommendation was fine as well. The tap beer quality was a bit disappointing. Great customer service. Recommend dinner time not lunch as their lighting is quite interesting. The outside design is noteworthy as it's in the very tall building yet you can see the sky a bit+greenery setting. Very interesting setting.
Damian: Would dine again. Lovely atmosphere and chic dining area out the back under the original decor
Michelle Ngo: EXCELLENT and TOP NOTCHHigh quality produce under the hand of a master had turned everything into SUBLIME. Food is amazing. So as the service despite some teething issues, such as the wrong coffee order or the super thin bread.I had come back here 3 times just in the space of less than 2 weeks. My favourite is the oyster and the grilled king prawn. The prawns were perfectly grilled and seasoned. I don't think I've had prawn this sweet and aromatic like this before.Service is warm and genuine. I made the effort to ask Mauricio for his name so that everyone know how wonderful he is.
英雄百姓: Had a wonderful night with my girls, excellent service

Thai Garden House Restaurant: what do users think?
Laurence Gregg: Very nice spot for dinner. The atmosphere is good, music isn't too loud so you can hear the other people in your party. The food was excellent, and was delivered to the table quickly so there was no waiting around the course's to come.Food: 5/4|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/4Recommended dishes Thai Green Curry, Deep Fried Ice Cream …More
Tee B: Wow, this place was awesome. I honestly have to say this is the best Thai food in Sydney actually even better than the food in Phuket. The chef can cook ✅ the service is great ✅ the owner is awesome ✅ I highly recommend 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Fried Golden Gaytime, Boat Noodle Soup, Pork Dimsum, Thal Fried Rice Chicken …More
Shaun “Sheep”: The long time chef here is still amazing and going nowhere in a hurry. This gives Thai Garden an edge as the dishes consistency is unchanging. The restaurant is very fresh and clean after new renovations. Never a long wait, always fresh food and never any pressure with waiters wanting you to buy another beer. I highly recommend their Laksa, Massaman Beef (Peanut flavoured curry), Stuffed Chicken Wings (A1 with the kids)or the Phuket Barramundi which has a kick (Chiili and Peppercorns).
Manoranjan Sahoo: I have dined twice in this Thai restaurant and both time it was an exceptional experience. The warm hospitality and inviting ambiance set the stage for a memorable dining. The fried tofu starter was a must-try, with its perfectly crisp exterior and flavorful, soft interior. The main course offered a fantastic range of traditional Thai dishes that catered to every palate. The flavors were exceptional, showcasing the culinary artistry and quality ingredients. The service was exemplary, with attentive and knowledgeable staff. The restaurant also had an impressive selection of drinks, including Thai-inspired cocktails. The only downside was the relatively high prices, but the overall experience justified the cost. In conclusion, this fine dining Thai restaurant provides an outstanding experience, from the must-try fried tofu starter to the flavorful main courses. It's a gem for Thai cuisine enthusiasts and those seeking an exquisite culinary adventure.Vegetarian options: I myself a vegetarian and yes they have many vegetarian options but you must try the fried tofu.I have posted a photo of it.Kid-friendliness: Kids are most welcomeParking: It has its own parking just adjacent to the restaurant
Kevin Dao: To my surprise, the restaurant was very presentable and classy inside. Each dish was so flavoursome and unique. When the bill arrived, we were surprised at how little we spent for the food we got. Highly recommend getting a few Fried Golden Gaytime for the table, it was devoured within seconds.
Lim Wu Sim: Our go-to Thai restaurant in this area. Great food and service. Tom yum soup is really good here on a cold day. Can’t go wrong with curries here as well.Recommended dishes Salt & Pepper Soft Shell Crab, Pad Thai, Panang Curry …More
Mohit Dixit: Great atmosphere to dine in with your loved ones.We got a couple of starters, and the green curry with rice along with pad thai noodles. Super delicious food with reasonable prices. Staff is very customer friendly as well. Had a great time, will definitely recommend.
Jim M: Lovely and delicious food and definitely worth a taste of their home style Thai food. A shout out to the service too as they did a wonderful job and checking up.
ekta dhar: Lovely food!the star was the dessert that we ordered......deep fried ice-cream.....the crust had a slightly orange taste to it..... absolutely loved it. Portion sizes are generous.....and the staff very friendly! Its going to be a regular nowFood: 5/4|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More
Sally Hetherington: Updated review: Ordered pick up for Mother’s Day. They didn’t put any pork belly in the green papaya salad as requested. Phoned up to complain, only options were to go there again or get a refund. Chose the refund - the man on the phone wasn’t very apologetic and said mistakes happen. I suggest being cautious about ordering on busy days. Wasn’t happy with the service from this staff member, nor the missing food.Previous review: The food here is exceptional. The service is quick and friendly. Highly recommend!
Sarah Walker: I really enjoy coming here for Thai food. There's heaps of Thai restaurants in Parra, but this place is my favourite. Service is always friendly, and the food comes out quickly. daniella metwari: One of my favourite restaurants to go to and I highly recommend coming here! The food, deserts and drinks are amazing as well as the atmosphere with great customer service!
Liis V: Fabulous service and dishes! Highly recommend!
Yusura K: I thought the food was good, but I can't give the service a passing grade.1. We asked for $68 wine and was offered $98.2. A waitress offered us oysters, but when I refused, she gave us a disapproving look.3. A waitress tried to immediately take down a plate of food that had not been completely eaten, which made me uncomfortable. Some customers want to eat a little at a time.4. The wine bottle is not placed on the table, so if I run out of wine in my glass, I had to wait until a waiter comes to pour. If the service does not allow pouring wine into empty glasses, it should be abolished.
Michael Shehata: Very nice restaurant! Would go againFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Mary Sheehan: Great place with a with nice and tasty food. It’s well located and great for dinner and drinks. Menu is plentiful and the desserts are exquisite.I came here a few nights ago and it was such a lovely experience.

Lyn: A very atmospheric restaurant with thoughtful and attentive staff and exceptionally delicious food. I am not usually one for "fancy" food, but I tried to keep an open mind here and I'm so glad I did. I tried all the options and each element was delicious. I had not even heard of eating pearl meat, but it was wonderful. If you are unsure of a new food item, this is an ideal place to try them.
Alexandra M: Stellar experience at Bentley! I cannot recommend highly enough. We had the 7 course menu and every dish was a standout. Absolutely impressed us, and the service was impeccable as you'd expect. For a special occasion Bentley exceeded our expectations.
Eurica I: We liked the snacks and the appetizers - both the duck and the trout. Amazing desserts and was very pleased with the surprise chocolates for our anniversary. We loved the cod but the wagyu was a big disappointment. I had my first bite and couldn’t finish it as it was extremely chewy/rubbery, so i asked my husband to swap with me as I thought it was just to my taste. He had a bite as well and confirmed it was so chewy and rubbery, and could not finish it.We told the server who was helping our table but didn’t receive any apology whatsoever, or offered to change it. But she did acknowledge though as she saw that the wagyu was barely halved. So we were confused if it was a language barrier or she just didn’t know what to do. Very awkward, but we just didn’t want to cause a scene.Overall, we wanted to love it as it was for our anniversary, but i don’t think it’s worth it unfortunately.
David K: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/4More
Sandra Gounden: I organised a high tea to celebrate my friend’s milestone birthday on the 26/3/23. To begin with they didn’t have the teas that we requested. We were given just one sandwich each, which was stale. This was suppose to be an ‘Easter high tea’ but had absolutely nothing relating to Easter. When I enquirer about this, I was presented with brownies, which were rock hard and couldn’t be cut. I did call the next day and was told that someone in management would give me a call, still waiting!!!!Overall a very disappointing experience. At $75 per person, you’d be better off spending your had earned money at the Sheraton for their high tea or even Lilianfels which are much cheaper and better quality in my experience.
Mariia: Fantastic! Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Bentley and highly recommend! Food is delicious with a good variety of things to try, extensive wine list. The team and service impeccable. Great ambience - feels lively, but relaxed and the same time and not noisy, you can perfectly hear each other at the table. Will definitely be back!Recommended dishes Wagyu Rump Cap …More

Garden Court Restaurant: what do users think?
Ali S: Food is well presented and mostly tasty. A couple of dishes were a bit ordinary though. Pricey entrees and Mains. Excellent service
Euodia Saw: We had breakfast buffet here when we stayed at sofitel. Staff were very friendly and helpful but very stretched. Long wait to be seated, same staff cooking egg dishes and pancake/waffles and those are the main hot dishes selection. By 9am the pastries and bread were nearly finsihed and not topped up.
Natasha Topouz: Food was very average but with fancy names. We took 4 course menu and 6 course menu. Not impressed at all. Desserts were very tasty though .Service was extremely slow . Only one cook making everything and 2 others just watching him and taking photos of the dishes he made for us. Food presentation was far better than taste . Lots of plain mayo in every dish as garnish sauce???Atmosphere and ambiance of the place was nowhere near as nice and intimate as it looks on the photos of the restaurant . We did not feel like it was fine dining. Staff was moving furniture and making up tables for the breakfast for next morning which was very distracting. Light was quite bright and lots of noise. Overall disappointing experience.Manager was very friendly and gave us complementary birthday dessert plate but later I discovered that we were charged for it ( as he forgot to take it off the bill ....)I usually don't write reviews but this time I feel like I should voice my feedbackThank you
Ingrid Peppou: Amazing attentive service but not in your face. Food was delicious, nice ambiance and great music in the background.
Al Soepardi: Let me start by saying that the service here is good. I like the idea of the open air courtyard too. The ambience aint too bad either. This is where the good stuff ends. Wait, the amuse bouche was nice. Mushroom soup.Oysters 1/5, the biggest fail. Dont get how they (a restaurant in a 4/5 star hotel) saw fit to serve oysters that were just turning bad. Still edible but with difficulty. $25 to torture meself..Pasture fed scotch fillet 1.5/5, it might hv been pasture fed w fresh dew tipped grass, this piece of meat was nearly inedible. Half was left uneaten. $43 adios. The rest of the meal (see below) were more acceptable albeit mediocre.Jamon serrano w 62 deg duck egg 2.75/5Ruby tuna 2.5/5, tuna was limp.Seared scallops 2.75/5Mussels w normande sauce 2.75/5, did the chef spill a whole bottle of salt in this?Herb crusted lamb 2.5/5Coq au Vin, no idea how this tasted as i did not want to even bother trying.Hats off to the floor staff who were clued in to how we were struggling and offered multiple times to re-cook or re-serve. Which we politely declined. If you insist on dining at a Sofitel, go Atelier at darling harbour. In fact, take garden court’s chefs with you so they might learn a thing or 2 from their counterparts.
daniela bitlan: Nice ambience and service. Cawliflower soup too creamy. Rib eye fillet chewy. Risotto? a different story, more like a soup...ok taste but where was the rice?
Eric Tran: The food was just delicious, it was on the quiet side, not many people. The staff are extremely friendly and are informative. Dishes were visually pleasing and tasted great.Overall, great restaurant.
Calvin Cheung: The food generally impressive and the service amicable, Garden Court was a solid night out. The decor is chic (French bistro with patio vibes) and suits the garden theme very well, immediately exuding a relaxed atmosphere. Make no mistake though, Garden Court is by most definitions upscale, and indeed it tries very hard - its waiters greet you with "Bonsoir" and insist on "explaining" the menu and telling you which dishes are their favourites. Yet despite this great effort to establish a "fine dining experience" Garden Court falls short by failing to note seating when taking orders, and instead the waiters have to ask who is having which dish when serving each course. The spanner crab entree ($26) was served in a "cantaloupe melon soup", which may seem odd but it worked: the cold melon puree accentuated the inherent sweetness of the crab very well. This dish set the bar perhaps a bit too high, as the mains and desserts, although good, never hit that mark again for the rest of the evening. Nonetheless, the lamb rump ($39) was well cooked and tender. The side of Paris mash ($10) was velvety and, with much guilt, very buttery. The dark chocolate tart ($15) was not too sweet, with the accompanying mango sorbet offering a fruity sweetness that coincidentally echoed that of the entree's melon soup.Overall, Garden Court combined great food, service and atmosphere in an equally great location. We are keen to come back for more.
Agnes Bruck: Beautiful french food. Fantastic service. Try the Paris Mash.
