Raycher Lim: Pick up car was smooth however the person who handover the car to us just said “it’s yours” and hand us the key without explaining anything on how to operate or use the car. Got hit by the car seat due to some stupid design to access the 3rd row of seat. They expect you to figure out everything yourself best to read the car manual or which the review before you book.The return location we choose to be at William street, so we follow google map to WILLIAM street! After arrive then realize that William street is the shop itself NOT a car return location. The exact return location is at the back around Yurong lane. Which this important msg was not explain in our booking email or during when we pick up the car at all.Apparently they said is in the printout paper which handover to us when we collect the car. Who will read the 2 pages or fine print after collect the car?Overall car is clean and working fine that is why I still give 3 star. I wanted to give 2.5 star if there is such option. I think for big company like hertz I expected more.
Piet Zhuge: The Hertz agent brazenly says for a walk-in its $$300 a day but in reality it isn't: the agent tacitly slaps on all optional extras.Desperate in an emergency, you swallow your pride.Then they say it's a SUV, the only one left. But it turns out to be a tiny wobbly two wheel drive lo-undai dressed up as a mini star trooper.The electronic contract and signature is hilariously absurd and convoluted. You stand there at the counter, right there and ready to sign on the printout, but no: they make you go through a sms mobile phone multi clicking rigamarole, lying brazenly 'its for the planet'.And then they print it out anyway.And yes, the parking arrangements are a joke. Five levels down, then you are stuck at the exit gate until two guys in blue overalls come to glare at you and let you out, five minutes later.Aw, it Hertz so much.Never again.
P: The car park has a lot of narrow turns and the levels can be confusing when you’re trying to get out. You also need to get out of the car and cross the street to get a man’s attention to open the gate when exiting. It was kind of confusing but they were friendly so.

Susan Kruger: This was in an ideal location for us. Close enough to our lodging that we could walk to the office and easy access to the non-toll road out of Sydney so we didn't need to pay for the toll add-on. The staff were nice. However our car's tire pressure light was on and no one on staff could fix it. We looked at the tires and they all looked ok, so we decided to keep the car, but it was a concern for awhile. About 5 days into our 11 day rental, without luggage in the trunk, we noticed a strange rattle and took a look at the spare tire. It was loose and flat. We figured that a previous renter had a flat tire and that's why the tire pressure gauge was on. Apparently the tire was fixed, but not the tire pressure gauge or, more importantly the spare. Had we needed a spare we would have been out of luck. This is something that should have been taken care of before Hertz rented out the car, so we were not too happy about it. I know turn around time is important, but so is the safety of the customer. This might not be the fault of the location, because apparently they do not service the cars on property, but it stills reflected poorly on Hertz.

Damian Evans: Great experience of the actual hiring and collecting the car from T1 arrivals as the vehicle was parked in the car park opposite the arrivals hall. Decent vehicle, good rates and quick service.I wish I could have been as complimentary about returning the vehicle. For some reason it has to be returned to a place near the domestic terminals, and they state there is a transfer bus that takes you to the terminals, which is correct - the bus takes you to T2 and T3 - both domestic terminals. Not the international T1 terminal. There were zero signs on the buses explaining this, neither did the driver explain this, instead I got on and drove round the circuit before ending up back at the hertz return lot!Eventually I discovered that I had to get the transfer bus and get off at T3, then walk to a bus stop that another shuttle bus operates from and takes you to T2. Absolute faff, but I was fortunate to have plenty of time before check in opened. This was the only thing that let it down.

I rejected the claim with facts in writing and despite that, HERTZ has robbed $2k AUD from our company credit card without prior reply to any of my emails, and without authorisation. Will be brought to court. Deleted my HERTZ Membership after being Gold member for 15 years. Absolutely disgusting, scamming behavior HERTZ. Stay away!!
Megh Forrester: We'd rented a car in Penrith in the morning, and had sudden emergency changes in our travel plans. Unable to reach customer service or manage our booking online, we just showed up at the airport location with a hope and a prayer.After such a stressful day, the lovely brunette woman at the front desk was so calming and kind, we both teared up and nearly started crying. The drop off was as easy as handing them the keys, and then the shuttle dropped us off right at our terminal.So many heartfelt thank yous to the brunette woman working around 7pm Sunday March 26th, I'm sorry I didn't catch your name. You took a gigantic load off our shoulders when we were expecting a hassle.

Louka Lazaredes: This facility does not open until 6am. We were led to believe otherwise. If you do an early drop off there is a drop box, but make your own way to the airport. Otherwise a great experience renting.
Jan Eichhorn: We reserved a full-sized 8 seat van for about 12 days - quite a long time. We purposefully chose Hertz even though it was not the cheapest option, because of good experiences with the company in the past.When we first entered our vehicle, we noticed that the car did not have a full tank. We took a photo and went back inside the Hertz office to let the employees know. They acknowledged that the tank was not full and told us that we could return the vehicle with a half-full tank. I then asked, if this would be noted down somewhere. I was assured that they will take a note of it and that there will be no problems. Upon reviewing our bill after dropping off the car (with a tank more than half-full), we noticed that we were charged a $160 fee to refuel the car. Customer service says that the contract clearly states that we had to leave it with a full tank, but that since we didn’t, we were charged a fee. We urged CS multiple times to reach out to the Sydney airport team, but no one seems to care.Treating a customer unfairly is one thing, but lying to your own customers is really another level. Just deeply disappointing and disturbing. Avoid if possible or take necessary precautions and do not trust a word the employees say unless you have it in official writing.Update: Writing a review seems to go a long way. Hertz actually reviewed our case and decided to process the fuel refund. I am happy to see that someone does keep up the standards after all.

Niki Vasiliadis: The car collection for the Domestic Terminals are no longer at P1, they are now located at 48 Ross Smith Avenue. There is a free shuttle bus service from the airport terminals to the location. Customers need to make their way to the collection desk inside the terminal and then make their way to the shuttle. None of this is very clear however. We headed straight to the shuttle area and we’re told to go back to the service desk to collect the keys however it was unattended. We took the shuttle to the 48 Ross Smith Avenue location and staff there assisted with car collection. The Hertz staff are friendly and knowledgeable however the airport staff at the shuttle area need information on how to direct customers in general.Definitely the quickest car collection once we we were attended to.

Jules: I had the misfortune of being sent by my insurer to this Hertz rental at the back of Sydney airport where I believe that I was uniformed until I had made payment that the airport would charge me an extra $100 just for making a transaction through Hertz. I was not very happy and the attendant told me that if I didn't pay daily waiver fees I wouldn't get charged the fee. So I changed my mind and decided to go without the waiver charges thinking that he would return with a different amount or at the very least cancel the previous transaction and do a new one. He cancelled my agreement but came back with the exact same charge which I had queried. He told me that I would get the money back at the end of the hire. However that didn't make sense to me as the amount should have been refunded back onto my credit card with the correct amount then charged. I requested a refund of that transaction, however he basically refused and the other staff member backed him up. As a consumer I have rights to only be charged for what the service provider is providing me. He looked at me with the most menacing eyes and said no over and over again. I said I wasnt leaving until I had received the refund. He said he had to call head office for that to happen but i probablywouldnt get my money back for ages anyway. Which is a little confusing as he is effectively able to do this via his POS machine. What I had originally agreed to (under false pretences or no disclosure) was now not in the agreement and therefore why would I pay for something that I wasn't getting? I said that I hadn't even driven the car so I cancelled the agreement on the spot as that was the only way of getting my money back before 10 days transpired. I left to ask my insurer to arrange an alternative car hire which thank goodness they did. I read the bad reviews of this business and I can see exactly why they have bad reviews.I have had exceptional customer service at Hertz Caringbah. It's a shame they didnt have a vehicle available sooner as I would likely not have had this terrible experience at Ross Smith Ave location; and now have a lack of faith in Hertz. I nervously await the many hundreds of dollars to be refunded back onto my card.
Bridget: Most horrible experience. They’re not where the maps say they are, no information on the website, can’t get through on the phone as it just diverts to road side assist. There’s no signage directing to the temporary venue. Drove around Sydney airport for an hour to find them, which is now about 1.5km from the terminal, so you’d need to wait for a shuttle. When you finally interact with staff, they’re fine and obviously doing their best, but the manager of this temporary venue set up should be sacked.
Curt: This is temporary closed. There is no warning or signage to direct you to the correct location, which is currently 48 Ross Smith Ave in mascot about 8 min away.

Alex Chen: Sneaky fees! Was charged $55 on my card without any notice from Hertz. I had to call Hertz customer service to find out the reason and they couldn't tell me over the phone. A day later was emailed an invoice 10 days late from the date of the charge advising it was an admin fee for a parking fine. I must say that this is not explicit in the rental agreement.

On the Move.: ***CONSUMER ALERT*** "VEHICLE TRACKING" @ Bankstown Hertz/Thrifty. What you are Not told at the time of Collecting the Vehicle (Any Vehicle) is You are being TRACKED. Bankstown Hertz do not tell You or Allow you time to review the Hertz Terms "Agreement" before Agreeing, however they will "Try" using the Agreement against you whenever they can.The Hertz "Terms" say you can find "VMS" & Page 3, but its really on Page 6, and its says: Vehicle Monitoring System (VMS)Our vehicles may be fitted with a VMS which can be used to open and close the vehicle and track and record the geographical location, distance and speed of the vehicle during the rental period. It can also be used to immobilise the vehicle in the event of non payment or if we have reasonable grounds to suspect the vehicle is being used for a Prohibited Use. You agree that we can track and record your location and your use of the vehicle using the VMS, which may include your personal information."WE HAVE A LEGAL RIGHT TO KNOW WE ARE BEING TRACKED"Bankstown Hertz operates as a Hertz Licensee.If you are an Insurance Replacement Customer, you can ask the Insurer to Book you with another Hire Car Provider.

Keeping You Posted: WARNING.... VEHICLE TRACKING/Monitoring used by Hertz Bankstown. They will take the Vehicle if you are Overdue by 1 Day. They won't tell you about Vehicle TRACKING.

Wayne Freeman: Do not hire a car from these people. I just returned a hire car after two days and was then accused of cracking the windscreen. Luckily I took photos of the car the other day and it was something I did not notice nor did the young guy doing the handover.The funny thing was before she looked at the car she told me there was a crack in the windscreen. I pulled out my photos but it seems there are three blind mice working there and none of them could see the crack in my photos.I don’t care as my insurance has free windscreen cover but I’m going to make a point that they don’t get to put it through my insurance.If you are hiring from these muppets make sure you take photos of every angle.

Neethu Nandakumar: Terrible customer service from the guy at the reservations section. Goes on to ask the details of my travel end-to-end only to tell me at the end that they are closed considering public holiday. When I mentioned that he could have told me that at the very beginning instead of having to go through the details end-to-end, he goes "don't tell me how to do my job". And when I said that I'm trying to provide constructive feedback, he goes "byeeeeee" and hangs up on me. Perfect example of arrogance and disdain for customers.

Five Dock Hertz do not tell You or Allow you time to review the Hertz Terms "Agreement" before Agreeing, however they will "Try" using the Agreement against you whenever they can.The Hertz "Terms" say you can find "VMS" & Page 3, but its really on Page 6, and its says: Vehicle Monitoring System (VMS)Our vehicles may be fitted with a VMS which can be used to open and close the vehicle and track and record the geographical location, distance and speed of the vehicle during the rental period. It can also be used to immobilise the vehicle in the event of non payment or if we have reasonable grounds to suspect the vehicle is being used for a Prohibited Use. You agree that we can track and record your location and your use of the vehicle using the VMS, which may include your personal information."WE HAVE A LEGAL RIGHT TO KNOW WE ARE BEING TRACKED"Five Dock Hertz operates as a Hertz Licensee.
Rebecca Mann: I hired a van for two days. The staff were incredibly helpful and the van was exactly what I asked for.In the end I only needed the van for a day. They reimbursed me for the day I didn’t use and there were absolutely no dramas.I highly recommend renting vans and trucks from hertz in five dock

Ashley G: I recently damaged a Hertz rental vehicle and had to cover the repair cost because I stupidly hadn't paid extra to waive the insurance excess.But the Manager and Fleet Manager were really helpful in sorting it out. They quickly had it repaired at a very reasonable cost. They kept me informed and provided me with all the receipts. I had heard of rental companies ripping off customers with repairs so I was greatly relieved with the outcome.I will of course pay the extra to waive the excess when next hiring though!
Tee Jay: Very unprofessional and I don’t know why they lent me a car that’s not even within the budget that my insurance provided.My insurance provider booked me there as it was the closest to where I had the car accident. Furthermore, I was informed by my insurance that I was getting a car that was close to what I was driving which was a 2021 model.As soon as said I have a booking that was organised by my insurance an older man suddenly grabbed a key from the drawer and gave it to the person who was attending me. How does he know what to get? He wasn’t even attending me.As soon as I got the key and saw the car I am sure it wasn’t worth the insurance was paying. I couldn’t be bothered telling the people at Hertz five dock as they weren’t very accommodating at first anyways.Drove the car home and called my insurance and told them what happened (I was even informed of what car I was suppose to get as it was written on their notes). I got booked another car from Hertz near my area. The next day went and exchanged the car. The person at Hertz Tarren Point was very accomodating and lent me a car that was worth my budget.I don't know if I'm just fussy but who would like to pay something that’s not worth what they are paying for?Please be fair and not to rip-off people.Thanks

valérie Guillemain: We rented a small car (Kona) for 6 days, at 657 dollars. We took an additional insurance to put the deductible at zero, which turned out to be very expensive in the end (250 dollars), but hey, we had accepted. So we are already at more than 900 dollars for 6 days. Where we are furious is that when we dropped off the car, there was a little dried water stain on the plastic of the seat and a little sand on the feet of the kids in the back. The gentleman who was doing the inspection charged us $55 for an "exceptional" cleaning. We (in 2 seconds) wiped the stain off. There was still some sand on the floor. We believe that it is normal to clean the cars between each customer, and the fact that we sucked up sand instead of dust does not influence the time spent, and certainly does not justify 55 dollars more. After much discussion, the gentleman told us that he would let it go and that we would not be charged. And this morning, we receive the final bill with the 55 euros deducted from our card! We really had the impression that we were squeezed like lemons until the end, and that they were trying to increase the basic price of the rental at all costs. Moreover, dishonesty and no respect of the given word. We rent cars very often, we will avoid Hertz in the future.

I returned it it the same day but was 5 min late due to an anforceen traffic delay and they would not offer me a solution to leave the car and the key when I called , so I have to come back in the morning before I pick up an other car from a different car rental place.Very inconsiderate.Horrible service Hertz used to have standards.

Just ensure that the person who used the visa card is the same person who will be driving as I had to rebook on a new car on the same day just because it was booked on a different persons name (friend of mine) and I used my visa card instead.

BeeDot Lal: Great Experience with the team at Arncliffe Hertz. Had a last minute cancellation the day before for an organised moving truck and in a panic tried to find a substitute and landed on Hertz. Booking process was simple and quick. I arrived on the day and everything went smoothly, I would only suggest 2 things: 1, adjusting the website to read "Bond Applicable" instead of "Bond may be applicable". It does make sense that a bond would be required however it was a little suprise to be told your cost was up $200 past the advised price. Managed to sort it all out without any hiccups though, I wish I could remember the staff members name that served but I applaud her patience and service ! 2, the van i hired was parked in by other vehicles which is understandable but I was told to wait while the yard hand finished some of his task before moving the vehicle then I was rushed to move the vehicle while I was taking photos and videos of the pre existing damages to vehicle. All in all 5 stars though ! Ill definitely be back. Thankyou team
Charbel Elhage: Had a bad experience where we rented a toyota hilux and went down south and the key lost battery life and would not read key reader to start car . Stuck at Goulburn we paid $180 cash for a mobile mechanic to show us how to start it. Showed the rental place and team once car was returned and they would not refund my $180 without receipt which was nearly impossible to get as he wanted cash . Not even getting of there chair to speak to me from there office the manager was no help.will not deal again. Go a2b next door

Aramesh Abadi: Shout out to Kat, she was so helpful, even when I arrived late due to my flight cancellation, she managed all paperwork quickly and easily. The worst thing that could happen after a flight nightmare was dealing with a glitch at the reception, but she saved my day. I booked a 4WD for a day and it was all good. Car seat covers could be a bit cleaner though. I want to see they keep the bar always high and my good experience wasn't by chance, so definitely come back again and hope to see Kat as well. When I tried to return the car after hours, there was no drop off box for the keys as stated on their website. Had to drive to Sydney airport, which was a whole other nightmare!

Marc Werner: I phone the Hertz collection place 4 days before I was due to pick up the vehicle and the Hertz representative was able to tell me the correct booking details for my booking without being prompted. So this instilled confidence that my pick up on Monday 4 days later would go smoothly. How wrong I was, when I came to pick my vehicle they didn't have one, then I was told that there had been some mix up and my booking had been inadvertently cancelled but they could reinstate my order if I could get myself to another Hertz outlet 15 km away that had the vehicle type I ordered. When I got there the vehicle wasn't what I ordered, but close enough for an increasingly desperate person. I was handed the keys and pointed in the general direction only to find the vehicle was parked in by other rental vehicles, so back to the office where they arranged for one of their cleaner/detailers to move the blocking vehicle. When I eventually tried to start it the battery was stone dead not a light not a peep. Back to the office and the representative that had "served" me finally came out of his cool office to find out what I was doing wrong, only to confirm that the battery was indeed dead and he would call a mobile mechanic and I would have till the mechanic arrived to get me going. The mechanic said the battery was deeply discharged and I was not to turn off the motor till I got to my destination, which I arrived at four and a half hours late. Oh and the A/C wasn't working.
