Jenny Eyles: Stayed here with family in a 3 bedroom apartment. The room was fantastic, with great views across Sydney CBD, nothing was a bother for the staff and the pool was amazing. The chlorine is pretty strong though.Great location. Everything you need at your doorstep, food, Train station, shops, you name it it's there.Would not hesitate to stay here again. Channa Seneviratne: For paying a premium for five days this was a poor experience. At that price I expect the room furniture to be outstanding not worn and tattered sofas, the bathroom fittings were tired and need renewal and just one lift working over the easter weekend. The view from the apartment is 5 stars but the amenities have to match that to justify the cost. This is the last time I will be staying at a meriton apartment.

Trevor Horsfall: This hotel is in a great location, an easy walk to 2 stations, the light rail, buses and Darling Harbour. The views are fantastic. Spa and sauna on L61 are great.Thatโ€™s where the good news ends. We stayed with family on one of the upper floors in a 3bdr apartment, and immediately upon check-in it was all about the money. No welcome. No tourist advice. Just hand over your credit card.There were only 1-2 lifts were working over the Easter weekend, leading to wait times of nearly 45mins. I got trapped in the car park with 2 staff and no mobile phone reception for 15 mins at one point, when the lifts stopped accepting requests.Rooms: The rooms are dirty, dusty and tired. None of the bathroom taps worked properly, the drawers donโ€™t open and I had to fix a clogged sink drain myself. The plaster walls are dusty, marked, and seemingly water-damaged. The skirting boards are something from a horror movie. The carpet was dirty when we checked in, and housekeeping refused to clean it as we were only entitled to โ€˜expressโ€™ services over a 7 night stay (meaning they remake the bed, and replace some towels), so they sent a vacuum to DIYNoteworthy details: Very expensive, and Iโ€™d say itโ€™s worth it for the views alone, but this is not a luxury hotel. No services, tired/dirty rooms, painfully slow lift service, cold pool. Definitely donโ€™t come here for a romantic holiday.

The Twinsters: On the positive side - the view is amazing!On the negative side - everything else. Dirty, tired aged and the lifts are a disgrace (waited 25min). One of the photos shows a hole in the laminated glass on Level 65. We were looking forward to coming here but have been very disappointed. We actually had this place booked for a second visit to Sydney later this year but have cancelled.Iโ€™d avoid!

Sarah Leffley: I stayed at this hotel in the last week of April for my partner's birthday. The hotel amenities were beautiful and the location was great. The most disappointing part is the service that we received. I was double charged by the hotel and it has been almost two months and still ZERO refund. I have emailed and called numerous times with no one investigating or replying to any of my emails. The service has been disappointing and poor. I have cancelled any of my further reservations at the hotel and will not stay here again due to the absolute hassle it has been to retrieve my money back. For what is meant to be a luxury hotel, this has been a frustrating experience.

The views are absolutely breathtaking from the horizon room..What really made my stay special was the exceptional service provided by the staff, particularly Sunny and Kabir. They went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They were briefed that it was my birthday, and I really appreciated their attention to detail and friendly professionalism.I would highly recommend the Shangri-La Sydney hotel for anyone celebrating a special occasion, and I would like to give a special shout-out to Sunny and Kabir for making my stay truly memorable.

Blake Pulman: This is a poor quality hotel that rests too heavily on its location and view, and lets everything else slide.We stayed for four nights, and found the service to be poor throughout our stay.Staff were slow to respond, and never with any compassion (except for the staff member delivering room service). Small things took far too long, and there was an unexplained charge to our room upon check out that was cleared up on querying - I have zero trust in this institution to do what you ask of them, or to have any integrity.If you want a five star hotel, stay elsewhere, as this will only be a disappointment. If you want a good location, stay elsewhere, as I have no doubt you can find better value for money at other locations in the Rocks.Rooms: The rooms were distinctly average - while the size was generous, the amenities were lacking, as the hotel is doing the bare minimum for their class. It's the detail things lacking, like the size of the TV and the ease of connecting to it - two of our three devices found this a challenge.Walkability: While this hotel is centrally located, it is at the top of a hill, which requires using steps to get between it and Circular Quay - this may cause an issue for some.Food & drinks: The food was poor - we ate room service and the daily breakfast, and I am incredibly grateful to have not booked any dinners here. If you dine in the restaurant, you're doing it for the view. If you want good food, go for a walk around the Rocks, and you will find a great deal of higher quality choices.

We did not get the same rooms even though we paid the same amount our room was tiny in comparison.tried to discuss with the front desk they were going to call me back during our stay but never did. The window didnโ€™t seal properly it was freezing in our room. Could barely open the shower screen door because it was so close the toilet had to squeeze in there. The whole passage smelt of cigarette smoke. The only good thing was the location.

mitchell storrie: Staff have so far failed to take responsibility for miscommunication on their part where I was told I could pay for parking at the boom gate. Without mentioning the need for a QR ticket to receive the proper price for being a guest at the hotel of $50 per night. Instead I was charged the full price Wilsons price of $94 for parking. When I brought this to the attention of the staff I was twice told that I would be sent an invoice and that I need to take this to Wilson. The situation was explained to Wilson and provided the invoice from the Meriton. Wilson pointed that because no QR ticket from the Meriton was provided I would not be given a refund, and they are well within their rights. The Meriton currently have not called me back to take ownership of them failing to provide this ticket when I was told at the desk "You can pay at the boom" and I replied "Ok I will do this". why was I not stopped and provided the QR ticket? while $44 is a small amount to pay, If I was staying longer this could have quickly added up without my knowing. Very poor communication on Meriton's part and currently complete failure to take responsibility for the mishap. Review is pending call back by cob today.Edit: The guest resolution manager did call me back and offer to debit the parking from my card which I could then take to Wilson as proof and receive a full refund from them, however at this point I had spent almost an hour following up this and, given the time lost the refund was no longer worth my time. The review is bumped up to 2 stars from 1 star in light of this.Edit. Was fully refunded the full price of parking after manager saw my review and decided to fully refund and improve comms on this. Goof initiative taken. 4 stars for the turnaround, the timing was almost 3 weeks after it occurred, but still they acknowledged the issue and rectified it in the end.
