S P: Bought a second hand Impreza from these guys. On inspection the car was filthy and we were told the car had been through their 120 point workshop test. Struck up a deal and when we got the car home found the car had suffered hail damage. Called the old owner as they had left contact details in the car and asked if the dealer was aware of this when traded. She said most definitely as that’s why they only gave her $6k for the car. They had sold this to me for $14k!!!. I called them to let them know they were obliged under fair trading and Australian consumer law to disclose this. I was told that this was on me. Very disappointed and I will be lodging this as a complaint with fair trading.

Read the negative reviews and avoid this place.Weeks ago Hyundai sent me a letter asking to drop my car for a recall service in a Hyundai dealer. Never had one problem with that car before, most reliable car I had so far.Dropped it for the service at Suttons City in the morning of the 10th of June and picked it up later that day. Driving back, the engine light comes on in the panel after 15 minutes I picked up the car from the place. Made a new appointment for the following Friday so they could fix whatever problem was caused during the recall service just to hear from Christian that I would have to pay $500 to fix the engine as the problem that happened on the engine during the recall service was just a "coincidence". What a joke.The customer service also refused to give me a detailed report on what was checked and done in the car during the recall service so I could get it looked at by another mechanic. They literally said they could not provide one for a recall service. It just does not make any sense.It may be an ok place if you are looking into buying a new car, but my suggestion for others looking for a service/repair is to go elsewhere. You don't want to drop your car there to be fixed just to pick it up later in a worse condition than before.

Kenneth McWilliams: Extremely poor service and general incompetence. I purchased a temporary new car with roofracks and floor mats. When I collected the car, these were not fitted and Will said I should have them installed with 1500km service. I have chased him and his colleagues for weeks to no avail. Service wants sales to arrange for the missing components and sales keep pushing me to the service department. The next service availability is now in 4 weeks time? Excruciating incompetence. Management team aren't available to answer questions and I am still waiting for the GM to call back and resolve. This was the 4th and final car I would purchase from Sutton. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Young guy at reception calls out to two members of sales one being an middle aged lady and Dominic who both looked at each other blankly on who would serve me. Ended up being Dominic who was half arsed got annoyed at the most simple questions and gave one word answers avoid this guy if you want a good sales experience ended up buying from another dealership.

Called in to seek schedule and price, and am happy to pay 250% more than average market price ($69) for blue slip inspection since its original hyundai, particularly what could possibly be wrong from a 1 yo new vehicle?! Got a return call from the same inattentive service representative, enforcing me to do a full service, AGAIN, just to obtain the blue slip at the price of $400, which hyundai official service pricing for full service is only $299. Highly doubt if i were to do it, my 1 yo i30 probably would have lots to replace prior getting a blue slip i suppose.

I was shocked to be told that due to 'privacy issues' it would cost me $120 and a 2 month wait to assist me in unlocking the code for the CD/Radio.This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.....it's 4 digits!In my 73yrs of driving various brands of motor vehicle, this is the ONLY one which has such an absurd, overprotective privacy rule. RIP.....I WILL NEVER BE PURCHASING A VEHICLE FROM HYUNDAI, NEVER !!

They don't pick up the phone (called over 29times today)Nobody calls you back and they still have my car. I will never buy another Hyundai because of this experience and I recommend taking your car to a service centre that respects your business, ie not this one.The staff just don't care and they have a look of disdain on their face when you speak to them. Chloe Walton: Do not take your car here. I took my car here for a warranty repair to the engine. They were prompt and initially I was impressed with their service. Within 20 minutes of picking up my ‘repaired’ car the engine overheat light came on. I assumed this was because it was a hot day and continued my drive. The engine light then continuously came on so I called the garage who explained this couldn’t have been their fault because they didn’t touch that part of the car… they had just fitted a new engine so I don’t understand how they didn’t touch the engine part of the car. They then insisted it was my fault and I must’ve ran something over on the road when leaving the garage after picking it up. I returned the car to the garage and was advised this new issue would cost $3000 to repair and they would not accept responsibility. As a woman who knows little about cars I felt helpless and taken advantage of. They did provide me with a great hire car which I was thankful for. I requested that they bring some important files from my broken car that I had left in the boot when delivering the hire car. I explained where these were and reminded them via email and phone on the day of the hire car delivery (I live very far from the garage) and low and behold they of course forgot the files. I would really avoid this garage like the plague!

Very disappointed Phil Gilbert. This new key is falling apart and barely usable for my car.

Maggie Butcher: Earlier this week I booked in to test drive a Venue and Kona today. Got to the dealership at the appointment time and was told that there weren't any of those cars available to test drive. I had to chase a staff member down to ask as they were all ignoring me. On top of this, even though my name was on the booking and I was the one asking, all questions were directed to my husband who was very obviously not paying attention or interested. I was ready to buy a car today but now not from here. Huge waste of time and walked away feeling insulted and belittled.

Huy Tran: 2018 review:Free wifi. Morris was great when we serviced our Hyundai here (4h turnaround time from dropoff). The maps update wiped out our favourites (starred addresses) and set the language to en-gb (UK) but it's a minor thing. Free car wash and vacuum was a nice touch. One suggestion to go one step further: shine the tyres to look new. This was done at my previous servicing centre.2019 update:Came back for a second year (90K service, 5y old i30) and was a bit disappointed with additional servicing costs which have doubled the initial service quote. Brake pad/machining added to the cost (about half the total bill was labour). We were handled by David H.2020 update: disappointed to hear that the free car wash and footwell vacuum is no longer free but a paid service now (quoted $20 via email but David said $25 in person) for environmental reasons. Handled by David H again. Servicing this year took 9 hours (we dropped it off at 8am and it was done at 5pm) so expect to be without a car for a day. Credit card surcharge exists here.2021 update: 9h wait again. At one point I authorised some extra work but when I refreshed the link a few more times the prices seemed to change. I didn't take screenshots but the initial quote seems to match the hardcopy of the work and what I paid in the end so no dramas. The Till receipt didn't work and neither did the Till invoice so I had to call in to get it emailed to me before I paid.2023: purchased an EV from here and Anthony was great for the delivery of the vehicle.
Natalie Hitoun: The process of buying a new car from Phil Gilbert Hyundai Croyden was easy. I already knew I wanted an i30 Active, so there was little indecision. Joe was very helpful and easy to work with. He explained the buying process clearly, and made the collection of information quick and painless. The financial officer was also very helpful. I received regular updates about the location of my car on its trip from S Korea to Port Kembla. The car looked stunningly white and clean as its cover was whipped off. I'm delighted with my new car-it drives smoothly with a quiet engine. It's very satisfying to own my first new car!
Michele Guarneri: The experience of buy a brand new van was pretty awful. I called to check availability, and they had what i was looking for, a Hyundai staria. The sales man i spoke with, Endra, was fine and pretty responsive, then the nightmare started when i had to deal with the finance: i explained clearly that i was in a rush to buy as I needed for work, the work from finance department was literally awful making me waste days. I decided to show up in the shop and i got a bit of attention. the after sale was another shocking experience. I have been sales rep in Italy so I exactly know how a sales rep behave. we spoke about dash camera, ceramic finish for the paint and tinted glass. I said i had to think and he offered 10% discount if i get all the 3 options. i replied asking for still 10% if i get 2 of the options only and i would have paid full price in case i would have picked 1 only. he said yes. after i decided to buy and pay the car cash, i also canceled the ceramic finish, and the man straight away called me saying it was true he promised 10% discount. I just shut up coz the dramas very already too much and my patience was gone. i signed and pay. they promised me to have the car ready on tuesday 10am, i got a call 8.50 saying that the car would have not be ready at that time, but at 3pm. last unprofessional move. went to the shop and picked up the car, the after sales man was there, he looked at me, but he did even said hello.also, booked in for an appointment to see the car, and i got told car was in the parking lot and they showed me something "similar".another note for the laughing guy in the shop, laughing at me when i asked for a quote for my old car: my old car had a problem, and i explained to them. they faked to work around a quote for me, and they never call back.you proudly show car plates around Sydney with Phil Gilbert written on it..... i just hope not all the customers have the experience I had. bought in the past a brand new car from Sutton city and compared to Phil Gilbert in Croydon the score is 10-0. I only bought the van coz was the only one available in all sydney and I needed for work.
Edward Jeongho LEE: Absolutely gutted. Booked an appointment for a test drive, yet the car was not there. One of the guys asked me to test drive another car instead, as it was still a ‘n’ trim. Hope he was joking or I feel sorry for the guy for not understanding what test drive means.Apparently the car was sold days prior, and none of the sales reps had intention of informing their customer that the car was no longer available. Classic Phil Gilbert. Selling is by far more important for them than quality of service.

My i30n went in for a service and came out with a deep scratch on the rear bumper.My wife, who collected the car and who noticed the scratch on pick up immediately notified staff who called the service manager over. He obviously denied it was them for 15 minutes and went to check the cctv to see if the scratch was there on drop off. My wife was told after about 10 minutes it will take a few days to get the footage and they will be in contact when it’s available.30 mins after the service manager then went to the workshop and returned magically with a body check sheet with the damage marked with a x which apparently showed the technician noted the damage. This was not done on drop off in front of anyone which is how it is always completed, in my opinion this was fabricated.3 days later there was still no communication and it had now been 3 weeks since the service and I haven’t heard a word.The hire car which you wasn’t cleaned in weeks, hair and food crumbs everywhere and you have the nerve to charge customers for it when majority of dealers offer it at no cost.I will now be making a formal complaint to Hyundai Australia to get this situation rectified.

D & L C: Even 1 star is a stretch. Terrible service sums them up. Booked aa test drive only to be cancelled on multiple times & then told was not going to be possible & had to order a car if I wanted to test drive... anyway, I called up to order & was sworn at & hung up on. I ended up ordering the car with a promised 6 month lead time & took 16 months, with NO COMMUNICATION from the dealer unless I followed them up with each time just being told something else.I know COVID had an impact on delivery times, but there were other people ordering the same or a similar car later than myself from this & other dealers all around the country that took delivery before me. Not to mention the final price was actually $1200 more then the contractually agreed amount. I will never no use Parramatta Hyundai again.

You need to take off from your job and call them five times and wait in queue for two hours only to be disconnected without answering your call and on top of that no one calls you back even after being assured that they will call back.

Linda Sapier: Super disappointed with Suttons Arncliffe Service department. The most expensive scheduled service that I've ever had on this car (or any other for that matter). Asked them to do pink slip while they were at it. Called me to say that they had to make certain repairs on the car in order for car to pass rego - it's a 7 year old Hyundai I30. It's not a 20 year old car. Feel like they saw me coming and just went ham on the work that they said they "needed" to do. To add insult to injury - pink slip was never done (even after I paid an extortionate amount for service) - I have to come back in with car and they need to do the check again. What a joke.

I had a fantastic service with Sutton, customer service is exceptional along the entire process, from booking in and being offered a complimentary hire car for the day, to the video sent through of the actions taking place on my car from the engineer and the complementary clean and vacuum. I will be a customer of yours for life and recommend all to go here and avoid the disaster I had the previous year at kirrawee service centre where there operate rudely and are unethical in their practices in my experience and also in the other reviews you will read for that garage. I told them id rather sell my car than take it back there ever again. Save yourself from experiencing that and book in at Sutton who have restored my faith fully!! I dropped my car off at 9.15am, I was called after midday and told the they tried but the diagnostic guy called in sick so the apprentice looked around and couldn’t figure it out. Upon picking up my car, my car did no start properly, an issue I did not have prior to dropping it off. They told me I could leave my car there for a week when it can next be looked at or take it home. My husband then looked at it at home and they had unplugged things and not plugged them back in!! I emailed them noting my concerns and they have not contacted me for four weeks. Such a waste of time. Imagine dropping your car off at a mechanic and picking it up in a worse condition!!!

Jean Nguyen: Looking for a car to purchase so i made the call to Hyundai and was put through the sales team,To which i was poorly greeted by a sales rep named Matt or Max, he was extremely rude and unhelpful at all,Hyundai aren't my go to so i am not to familiar with stock and was looking for information, this salesmen was speaking over me and wouldn't let me explain what im looking for before just pushing me to look online.He was at no point apologetic and courteous, I would highly recommend his team put him through better training if they even get training at all.I had asked for information on a Hyundai that i had seen and liked but the salesmen kept giving snarky remarks and was very rude.They have cost themselves a sale i will be taking my business elsewhere.
Proness Guy: Came into the dealership a few weeks back. Sales reps aren’t interested in getting a sale as they make it their life’s mission to avoid you. Roamed around for 30 minutes and when I asked about certain models it was the generic “look at our manual online” (bear in mind this is the majority of MCGRATH Liverpool like Hyundai, Mitsubishi and Mazda. The only people willing to attend anyone was the Subaru Dealer who were lovely)Enquired about an i30 N line sedan if they had any stock and guess what the sales reps response was;“Whats that? We only have the Sports one” (yeah the 55k model which is 17k over most peoples budget) followed with the most arrogant response of if it isn’t here then I don’t plan on looking one up for you.No wonder Peter Warren and Suttons outsell you on Hyundais cause you’re just the scraps of the bottom of the barrel for dealerships with the type of people working there.Thank god you never got my business nor my money at the end

Andy Dee: The initial salesman was fantastic however everything after that has been a bit of a disaster. The car wasn’t ready when we went to take delivery. When we did take delivery it was covered in tape and dust, and you couldn’t see through the window. We still haven’t had it professionally cleaned and there are a few ongoing issues with the car which we are still waiting to get resolved.

Currently my Kona is running like a tractor. It’s not safe and cuts out at traffic lights. Riding very rough. Earliest service I can get is two weeks away.
