SignaturePhoto Photography Courses: what do users think?
The Wanderer: I attended the one day Essentials Photography Course For Beginners on the weekend and got so much out of it! I finally learned to use my DSLR properly (and get out of auto mode), and learnt about taking different types of photos and working out how to use the light available. We went to a variety of locations and got lots of opportunities to practice new found skills. Sarah was really friendly, encouraging, patient, and her enthusiasm was contagious! It was a super fun day and I can't wait to get out there trying out my new skills! I'll definitely be back for another course and highly recommend to anyone interested in beginners photography. Thanks Sarah!
Alex Euvrard: I attended a full day course with Sarah in May 2023 and cannot speak more highly of the day. No matter your level of photography you will find this course extremely useful
Alberto Garcia Sanz: Thank you Sarah for such an excellent photography day course. This was everything I needed to understand my camera, and a perfect start off point for more creative work.Everything was made so easy that no previous knowledge was needed, but definitely you will feel like a pro at the end of it.Completely recommended!
Ursula Jones: Sarah was a personable, highly experienced and awesome teacher for the introduction to using my mirrorless camera. She tailored the experience to each person’s camera & photography goals. I’m thoroughly inspired and looking forward to enrolling in her other courses in the future. Couldn’t recommend enough!
Jeremy Holland: I recently did the 1 day "essentials photography course for beginners".It was very obvious from the start that Sarah is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about photography, and that made you even more excited to learn and get snapping. She explained things in context, in ways that we all understood. I think the whole group was surprised at the quality of photos we ended up taking, I definitely surprised myself!I recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn more about their camera and all the daunting buttons/dials. The whole day was tailored perfectly from start to finish.I have my eye on a few more courses with Sarah so I'll definitely be back! Would also make an awesome upcoming Christmas present for someone receiving a new camera. Thanks again for an amazing day!
Francesca Talevi: I found Sarah to be an excellent, hands on teacher and I could use what I learnt immediately. She is super pragmatic and helpful and customises what she teaches when necessary. I would definitely recommend SignaturePhoto Photography courses for a great day well spent with very useful tips!
Jye Eatock: I had the pleasure of attending the beginners photography course which Sarah facilitated. I feel more confident now using my Canon camera where she showed us how to use field of depth and shutter speed to capture some amazing pictures on the day. The course was really enjoyable and I got to met some new people along the way. Highly recommended and after some practice I look forward to attending a more advance course or even the Adoble Lightroom courses.
Nash: I did the 1 day essential course and would highly recommend it for any beginner photographers. Sarah is a great teacher with lots of knowledge about photography.
Marianne Fenech: I can't speak highly enough of Sarah's travel photography workshop. I learnt so many new things about my camera, how to look for photo possibilities, and new ways think about taking a photo. Sarah was incredibly patient and generously shared her expertise in ways I could understand. As a novice photographer, my skills had plateaud, but I am now excited to take my photography to the next level. Seeing the ins and outs of cultural Cabramatta, which Sarah was highly familiar with, was wonderful. I highly recommend this interesting and fun workshop!
Tony Adams: Completed the Half Day Basics Course with Sarah. Was very enjoyable and informative, I learned a lot about how best to use the settings on my new camera and how to improve the set up and composition of photos. Some really good tips and tricks no matter what camera you have, highly recommended.
Jon Brett: The course is absolutely fabulous. Sarah was very engaging and it was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon
Karl Miller: Last Thursday 13 October I was part of a group that took part in the Essentials photography course conducted by SignaturePhoto. The course was informative, covering all aspects of the camera, and rewarding, I can now take much better shots. I would recommend the SignaturePhoto courses.
Frances Konz: Sarah was a fantastic photography teacher! My boyfriend and I did a 4hr class and it was the perfect thing to do before our holiday. We learnt so much in this time and Sarah explained things thoroughly but didn’t overload us as we were both beginners. Would highly recommended if you needs some tips on where to start!
Mai: Recently attended Sarah’s Essentials photography full day course and had such an amazing day. For a beginner like myself with a brand new camera, the content was extremely informative yet easy to understand. Sarah was very hands on and gave us all the tips/tricks and feedback to improve on our next shots. I’ve already booked in for my next course with Sarah and am very excited for that too!Thank you again Sarah!
M P: I had a great time in Sarah's class. She explained and showed us how to use our cameras and techniques to take photos. She gives suggestions to improve my compositions and heaps of compliments that boost and encourage me to continue photography.
Brooke M: My daughter (14 yrs) had a wonderful 3 hours yesterday with Sarah on her iPhone photography workshop. Using a couple of different apps she picked up new ideas and techniques quickly. Sarah was fun and accommodating and clearly a professional photographer. Everyone learnt about the importance of light in any format of photography and how clever use of simple apps can create some amazing images. It is always challenging to find a holiday activity for a young teen and this was the best (her words). Highly recommend Sarah.
Scott: Recently attended Sarah’s iPhone photography workshop and had a great Sunday afternoon out and about. Sarah’s instructions were very helpful and I took away many tips and tricks for improved iPhone photography and a better understanding of what the iPhone camera can do.
Michael Hyde: Covid made it hard for me to redeem my family gifted photography lesson with Sarah Jenkins. However when it did eventuate it was well worth the wait !! Sarah is a fantastic instructor . She has a great eye for detail and composition and our lesson on the exposure triangle was thoroughly and patiently presented. The 2 hours spent being instructed by her has made me willing now to finally get off the full auto mode on my Canon 5D Mark IV!!Highly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn more about photography in a supportive , informative personalised setting!!
Shannon McCue: Amazing knowledge and patience. I learned so much!
Georgia Mason-Cox: Sarah packs a huge amount into these workshops but never in a way that makes you feel overwhelmed by information. She gives plenty of technical details, presented in a logical, methodical way. Her expert guidance allows you to translate theory into practice, with plenty of real-world shooting experience of a variety of subjects. I would highly recommend this workshop to complete novices as well as more experienced photographers wanting to brush up on their skills :)))
Matt Regent: Sarah was very relaxed and informative through the entire class. I found the tips and tricks awesome and some of the locations and her coaching on looking for light on different subjects was invaluable. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and would highly recommend.

Australian Centre for Photography: what do users think?
Anthony Santram: Absolutely loved it! The people, the exhibitions especially the hydra exhibition!
Rhys Williams: Absolutely love my time with ACP whether that be one on one tuition or weekend courses with fellow photographers. My experience with several tutors has been very positive and all have shared their knowledge freely. Looking forward to my journey across time with ACP.
Madhava Huet: Very high quality education delivered from people who are doing the job! The tutors at ACP are very good and will help guide you in the right direction. Couldn't recommend enough!
Sarah Evans: High quality courses and private tuition, with courses and tuition provided by experienced and professional photographers. They also provide opportunities for students to share and exhibit their work.
Red: Slow paced. Energizing. Thoughtful. Why's that screen moving like that?
Penny Marr: I have done a number of courses with ACP now - both in person and online and both formats have been wonderful and really helpful. The tutors are highly experienced professionals with a lot of real-world knowledge and experience to offer, and I have found the courses are designed in such a way as to always evoke my inspiration and broaden my horizons in my own photography - both creatively and from a business perspective. I look forward to doing more!
Natalia Cartney: Great institute to learn photography. Well selected teachers and support staff who are very knowledgeable about the industry and their craft. Each course for me has been a jump in my path to becoming a photographer for which I’m very grateful.
James Schulz: I’ve been fortunate to have completed a number of workshops with ACP. They have great programs with passionate and knowledgeable industry professionals, well supported by the organisation more broadly. There's a diverse variety of courses offered so these are great opportunities to hone a specific area to learn or develop.
Kwok Aun Tan: The biggest asset the ACP has is its team of dedicated tutors. I have attended workshops by Fiona Wolf-Symeonides and Steven Cavanagh and I have also had private tuition with Martin Mischkulnig and Bill Green. Their depth of experience, years of knowledge, and enthusiasm in sharing this with students is what makes the Australian Centre of Photography the institution it is. Making photography accessible to a wider audience.
gillian turner: I've done various courses with ACP - both in person and online - and enjoyed them all. The tutors are excellent and highly qualified. The classes are practical, as well as providing a theoretical background. There is always plenty of opportunity to practice the skills learned, and receive feedback.
Kade Anderson: As a working photographer it's not easy to find professional level advice and mentorship that can help you develop as a professional, as many schools often only cater to those who are new to photography. The ACP has the perfect approach to addressing the needs of professional photographers with their private tuition. The workshop coordinators really listen to the goals you set yourself, and align you with tutors who will inspire you to develop your skills & experience, and will help you to push your capabilities as a photographer.I'd thoroughly recommend any professional with clear ideas on where/how they would like to improve their photography to collaborate with the ACP through private tuition.
Melanie Sleigh: I have completed a number of ACP courses and private tuition over the years. The educators are amazing and have helped me every step of my photography journey, from camera craft one all the way to business mentoring. Not only do they offer the very best education but their support and encouragement continues far beyond each course.
Susan Astor-Smith: I participated in 3 on-line courses with ACP in the past few months. ACP responded to the CoVid restrictions by offering online content. This was relevant and well-presented by professional facilitators enabling me to learn and feel connected to the photographic community during challenging times.
Phillip Bayly: The ACP has been providing contemporary and traditional photographers with the resources to learn and discover skills of how to survive, grow and expand in their various fields for many years. I have participated in numerous courses and attended many openings over the years that have inspired and motivated me to approach my photography with new ways of interpreting the medium I love. Their attitude and approach has always been professional and of the highest standard. i highly recommend any of the courses they provide.
Blane Coulcher: I have done a number of weekend courses, and derived value from each one, lifting my knowledge and challenging my ways of looking at the world. Well organised and great tutors
juan carlos ortiz pozo: I did 3 courses at the ACP whilst living in Sydney and they were fantastic, I was part of the Year Exhibitions and also loved the events. Now, been a resident in Tokyo and finding impossible access to any kind of photographic formation in english, I decided to try on online tuition and the experience was fantastic. It was just two hours but the tutor was highly prepared and organised.I think they team is highly professional, prepared and human too.I have no doubt I will study again with them.
Rebecca Wilkinson: Booked a 2-hour online Beginners Photography Tuition for my partner's birthday and it was amazing. The team at ACP are amazing to deal with, and with an excellent background in photography, my partner found their training methods on basic usage of a DSL camera in manual function was exceptional. He is keen to book into a face to face course with them once self-isolation for COVID-19 has been lifted. My partner walked away with a better understanding of his camera and found the tutor Fiona to be fantastic in her explanations of how to function is camera, which is outstanding considering the whole session was conducted through Zoom. If you want to know photography this is the company you want you to learn from. Thanks guys.
M Gal: I have done several courses at the ACP over the last few years. They were always interesting and informative. Both the teaching and the admin staff are friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend the ACP if you are interested in learning about photography techniques and the art of photography.
Shawn Hollbach: Definitely the best place to study digital and analogue photography in Sydney. ACP’s short courses and workshops are excellent, and the teachers and coordinators are all really helpful and supportive. I have also really appreciated the opportunities ACP has given me to exhibit my work. Highly recommended!
Pat McBride: Wonderful gallery a joy to visit
Rob Miller: Great space, super close to Oxford Street. Worth a visit to see the rotating exhibitions on display.

The Photography Institute - Australia. RTO Code: 45423: what do users think?
Paul O’Connor: The Certificate Course in Professional Photography is informative, interesting, artistically revealing and challenging! It is a flexible and self-paced online learning experience that is built on 12 well written and structured modules that provide an in-depth introduction into all aspects of Photography and the Photographic industry. The interactions and support provided by your assigned tutor help develop constructive assessments of one's theoretical and practical understanding of the craft and enhance one's learning journey. I am extremely happy that I made the decision to invest in this course, as it has given me the confidence to further pursue this lifelong interest with enhanced competence, passion and enthusiasm!
Adrian Phoebe: Would not waste your time with the course, especially the diploma course, the amount of rubbish this course has in it and the goal posts keep moving everytime you send in an assessment. If you can go through TAFE, you would learn a lot more than this lot, total waste of money and time.
Gab Bee: I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience in completing the Photography Certificate with the Photography Institute. I found the website easy to navigate, and the course material was well organised and encouraged me to research quite a large range of areas of photography. My tutor was very helpful and supportive, and the Facebook group is a very supportive platform to post anything you want to check on; you can also post the projects you are working on and request feedback if you want it. I want to thank my tutor and the Photography Institute for a very positive experience.
Nathan Carter: The whole process took me back to the fundamental aspects of photography and helped me understand why I love what I do whilst improving my skillset along the way. The diploma course asked me to undertake tasks that I would never normally attempt to improve my skills, confidence, thinking and reasons to shoot. The one-on-one contact with my tutor was exceptional, and they were very helpful from the first to the last day. My improvement is evident, and I look forward to furthering my study after changing my career to photography after completing this course.
Susan Dicandilo: The Photography Institute has provided me with the best experience for learning new skills and knowledge in the Certificate of Professional Photography Course. There were so many variations to discover, which all made sense applying the practical portion to the theory with each module. Tutor communication, thank you to Justin Aitkin, was wonderful; prompt replies, questions and queries were answered. Constructive criticism from my tutor was all taken on board, helping me conquer minor mistakes while gaining valuable knowledge and increasing my skill levels. It certainly is the best feeling knowing I have worked hard to achieve a goal in accomplishing this Certificate in Professional Photography that I have wanted for many years and all thanks to The Photography Institute for their professionalism in providing this course.
Martin: Good course content, however don't expect an answer from your "lecturer" if you need anything.
Jessica G: This Diploma course has changed my hobby into a life-long career. After purchasing my first full-frame camera, I decided to start this course, only knowing how to shoot on automatic mode. Now, under a year later, I am a professional photographer capturing images completely in manual mode, working with clients in a studio environment and running my own photography business!I undertook this course after just having a newborn baby. The self-paced diploma course and support from my tutors was very accommodating and flexible for my circumstances. Not only was I able to undertake this course with a busy life, but I was also able to incorporate this into my images and make a career out of it.If I did not undertake this course, I would never have the confidence I do today or have found a passion for such an industry. I highly recommend this course for anyone wanting to pursue their photographic dreams.
Dawn McNiven: When I started this course, I didn't own a DSLR camera (and never had). It was scary starting a course in something I had no experience in. The first module gave me the knowledge and confidence I needed to purchase my first DSLR. As I worked through each module, I gained more and more confidence and the knowledge I needed to succeed. The constructive feedback received from my tutor after handing in assignments was detailed and very helpful in improving my technique and understanding. I am now confident that I can make money from my photography and have the background knowledge to keep up with the latest advances in the industry. Most of all, I can enjoy the skills I have learned and use them to capture the most special moments. Thank you to all at the Photography Institute and, in particular, my Tutor George Seper!
Suzi Wyatt: I enrolled in the PI course to learn how to use my camera more effectively. I not only achieved this but learnt an amazing amount about photography. The course was very informative and thorough. My tutor was very professional, very encouraging and always very easy to communicate with.I feel a lot more confident using my camera, and I now have the tools to take my photography to a higher level.I would highly recommend the course to anyone wanting to improve on their photography or become a professional.
Neil Thorley: The course provided me with resources - tutor guidance and assignment challenges, that took me on a photography journey that improved the outcomes of my photographs and has set me on a journey to improve my photography and explore the art form through images. The greatest outcome it gave me was knowledge and control of my camera for the first time in many years of struggling with the controls. It demystified the technical terms of IOS aperture and shutter speed. It taught me about camera equipment kit lenses and fixed lenses. It took me on an artistic and photography technical learning curve. A curve that has left me yearning to learn more and get out and take more photographs. The real star was the tutor feedback and pointed advice and direction.
Cameron Crisafio: The Certificate in Photography is a really great online course to undertake.I took the full 12 months to complete it, but it can easily be done quicker. Before starting the course, I only had a little experience with my DSLR, but I wanted to know more about the technical aspects of photography. Since completing the course, I now have so much more knowledge about my camera and the photographic process required to take great images.Having a personalised online tutor was also really handy. I could ask my tutor, Steven Vote, any questions about the course, modules, or assignments, and I would get a response quickly. He also provided very valuable feedback after each assignment which I will keep on hand for future reference. The course is structured very well, and the content is all relevant. George Seper and the Photography Institute team have done a great job putting it altogether. I would happily recommend the online course to those out there who are interested in photography and want to develop their skillset and knowledge further.
Afroz Shah: Having completed this certificate course in photography has brought confidence and increased my interest in this field. This photography course is very interesting and easy to follow; I took my time making sure I physically carried out each module. Thanks to my tutor and the support team for making things easy, particularly the assignments, which were not as easy as they seemed. I so enjoyed this wonderfully encouraging course. Many thanks to the institute and the people involved. You have helped me create love, skill and enthusiasm in photography that I cannot imagine otherwise; My best wishes for the future of this institute. I would highly recommend "The Photography Institute" to anyone and everyone who are thinking of taking on the photographic course.
Sue MacLean: I chose The Photography Institute Certificate Course to increase my confidence in using my camera and better understand its capabilities, both of which have been achieved. However, I am also aware that the more I know, the more there is to know! The breadth of the course has developed my skills in post-production and given me an insight into the business of photography. The timeframe of a year worked well for me, and I enjoyed the self-paced nature of the course, which allowed for life's interruptions. I was impressed by the personalised approach of assigning a tutor to each student for support, guidance and assessment of progress. My direction was primarily to expand my photographic skills for personal satisfaction; this course has given me the confidence to join a local camera club and continue building my skill set through their monthly challenges and weekly photographic excursions. I am very excited to know I now have the confidence to continue to be challenged. If you require additional information or have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Jannette Nobbs: The feedback and encouragement received from my tutor and completing the Professional Photography course have ignited a passion within that only I can keep burning. Every day I look at the world through different eyes, thinking about how I can capture moments through the lens of my camera. It is truly a different world.Thank You PI Photography Institution for opening my eyes, developing my skills, and providing me with the opportunity to make a difference in the world, and to the lives of others, through the lens of my camera. An amazing and inspirational experience completing this course.
Graham Townend: I enjoy photography and started to invest in good camera equipment and also research a number of photography books and journals. Despite these endeavours, there were still elements of disappointment in not achieving the standards I envisaged as the intended outcome. I chose to address this issue by enrolling in the Certificate Course offered by the Photography Institute. The Course content opened my mind to essential information and skills that were inspiring. There is constructive guidance through the key aspects of photography, and for me, there was a paradigm shift in the areas of light, exposure, lighting and colour. The success factor is that the Course is delivered in a paced, structured and concise manner that goes beyond the delivery of knowledge and experience - the knowledge becomes a personal photography process that is intuitive and addressed so many of the photography issues I experienced prior to the Course enrolment. A vital element of the Course is the professional and constructive assessment and feedback process.I have no reservations in recommending this Course. It is an investment that has complemented my camera equipment portfolio and led me to new levels of confidence and satisfaction in achieving the outcomes I envisage.
Elle Huneau: Course content not easy to follow and doesn't link to tasks set, admin don't respond to emails, totally wasted my money
Brett H: I enrolled about a week ago and completed module one, it was poorly set out but I got through it.Module 2 on the other hand was like listening to 4 people have 2 different conversations and then being asked "so you get it"Module 1 & 2 was more about opinions rather then the photography. I exited the course under their money back guarantee.
marmaduke M: My tutor is great, he always answers all my questions and takes time to make sure I have an understanding of the course- he's very excellent and makes doing the course online so much easier.

MARK GRAY Sydney Photography Courses: what do users think?
Edmund Husserl: Excellent!
Patricia: My level of knowledge was quite basic compared to everyone on the tour, only my second time using a tripod! I never felt left behind or that I had less of Mark’s attention due to my basic needs and understanding of the camera. In fact he’s incredibly patient and eager to help you achieve what you want. After 3 days I felt so much more comfortable with the equipment and my ability definitely advanced. What’s more I experienced seeing some beautiful places that I wouldn’t of found alone. I just came home and I’m already looking for when I can book my next one. Trish
Veronique SCOTT: If you want a very professional and friendly service and you’d love to learn about landscape photography you really cannot go past one of Mark Gray landscape photography tours. Best locations, gourmet food, luxury transport and superb accommodation. Mark’s knowledge and love of sharing his craft are second to none. I would highly recommend one of his workshop/tours.
Harry Karavias: I have completed 6 Mark Gray Workshops so far. Why, for a number of reasons. A Mark Gray workshop is well structured/organized. Apart from the amazing place that you get to visit and photograph, there is only 7 others on the workshop which alows for plenty of one on one with the instructor. You are well looked after for the duration of the workshop. Meals are taken care of, breakfast lunch and dinner. Accommodation is top notch. At the end of the workshop, you end up walking away knowing much more about taking great photos and with a memory card filled with photos of some amazing places. I highly recommend a Mark Gray workshop to anyone looking to learn or improve their knowledge in the art. I will definitely be doing another Mark Gray workshop in the near future. Thanks Mark.

Alexandra Lagelee Kean: [posting on behalf of my dad, Claus] I thoroughly enjoyed the portrait photo workshop. Daniel listened to everybody and explained the fundamentals of natural light and gave us the tools to practice this newfound knowledge with the help of two very different models in different locations. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and Wendy made sure that no participant was lacking anything. She particularly took care of me as their oldest participant (at 81).I wholeheartedly recommend this workshop to anybody who wants to develop their photographic abilities and wish the team at Sydney Photograpic Workshops all the best for the future. I hope to be back!

T Mug: Went from believing the camera auto settings would take a better photo to knowing that I can do much better in manual. I now feel very confident in using my camera, Daniel was great.
Mark Harding: I did their 8 week digital photography course and it was fantastic! Our tutor was Glenn, and he did an excellent job of balancing the technical side of things with theory, while giving a good amount of practical work too, so we could put everything into action straight away. My photography has definitely gone to another level after doing this course, I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to take the next step in upping their photography game.
Robert Alcorn: Sydney Photographic Workshops are amazing!!!!!!!Daniel and Wendy really know how to make a days’ learning fun, enjoyable and jam packed with information. The travel workshop was superb. Ben the tutor was fabulous and really knows his stuff. The extra things and surprises during the day just added to a wonderful experience that I would wholeheartedly recommend.
manjul agarwal: Portrait Photography with Daniel Linnet. An educational day like no other. Daniel flipped my understanding of exposures and how to use and control natural light plus external lighting techniques. Yet whilst technically excellent, somehow managed to make it all creative at the same time. An extremely rewarding day!! Kudo's also to Wendy for all the logistics and Mike for his assisting role plus the excellent models:)I'll be back for the flash course next year for sure. If need to understand how to take portraiture to the next level, you can't beat Daniel's course. Cheers Manjul
John Golsby: The workshop not only allowed me to fill in the gaps of my camera knowledge, it also ignited my imagination on the possibilities of what can be done once off Auto.Great value for money
Manoj Thapa Magar: As my teacher "Daniel Linnet" said on the first session "You will begin to see the world withdifferent perspective, more clearer as you dive deep into photography", which for me is proving to be true! So, if you have decided to take upon this magnificent machine "Camera" and want to learn on how to use it to capture the world we are living in presently than I would highly recommend Sydney photographic workshops."A note: Do not miss the field trip!!!!"
Harold Werksman: An absolutely terrific learning experience. Daniel is a skillful and very experienced photographer who is able to explain technical issues clearly and with great patience.
