Sydney Japanese International School: what do users think?
God Emperor of Mankind: Ok, memes aside (excuse my username).I genuinely say this is simply the best school I have ever attended.Makes Knox grammar look like a back alley 3rd world countryAnd should I even mention St Ives PrimaryThank you for raising me to become a memeable and friendly guyThank you, Ms D (Yr2) , Ms Ess (K) , Ms Sheather (Admin Lady) , Ms Deadman (Yr3) and Mr Meadows (Deputy)Thanks, - K
seb las (Seblas): Pretty great school I went ThereSwag
Dan JT: My daughter loves this school
dj silver: One of the best schools on the northern beaches. Not too crowded, the teachers really care about the kids and loads of open space for the kids to play.
Nero Ishii Milovanov: Great primary school.

Tetsuya's Restaurant: what do users think?
Barefoot Centipede: The culinary experience in SydneyIn a very elegant setting (House 🏠 and garden) in the city centreFood on offer is superb and original as Japanese with a strong influence from FranceDo not hesitate to try the excellent choice of sake on offerService is impeccable and friendly
Elijah Chetwynd: Best dining ever
melzy phan: Super delicious. Highly recommend adding the oyster add on.Every single dish is 10/10. The salmon was to die for.Worth the money!
P Tham: Have been wanting to go to Tetsuya for a while and finally went there for my birthday celebration. As my wife is pregnant, we didn't go for the oyster addition in the menu but we saw many tables had it. My wife also had the sashimi changed for something else as she wanted to avoid raw food, and the replacement dish was exquisite. It's hard to pick which of the dishes we like best, they were all great. The service was also friendly and attentive.Only small downside is that the bathroom looks a bit aged but it's very clean.Overall, it's a fantastic dining experience and truly lived up to its reputation as one of the great restaurants in Sydney.
Patricia Garcia: Great food, great ambience, great service!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Wine Pairing …More
James Cerven: You can see why it’s an institution. Ambiance, personality all complement the food. As close to a ryokan meal as you can get here in Sydney I think.
優美川瀬: 和久田哲也、料理マスターズシルバー
Anastassia Gerakas: A Swan song to a Sydney dining scene institution. Food was as good as you could imagine. After years of wanting to get here, this place definitely lived up to its reputation. I can't remember when I had a more faultless degustation dinner! From the very first course, everything was perfectly seasoned, perfectly paired and prepared. The signature dish of trout and the abalone were our favourites, but the dessert course of white chocolate with yuzu will be the one dancing on my tastebuds for a very long time with its perfect Sour sweet combination of flavours. When Tetsuya moves to its new home we will come to celebrate the new chapter, wherever and whenever that may be. But for now thank you for the memories.
Vanessa E: Beautiful food and friendly staff. The location is a hidden oasis in the middle of sprawling Sydney.
Jonathan Dalglish: Exquisite.
Tim Foote: They’ve still got it, after faithfully delivering exceptional cuisine & service for decades
felix Lev: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Jon Magro: Been wanting to dine at Tetsuya's for many years after hearing all the hype about the venue. We have dined in many restaurants some exclusive some just local to the area, so really wanted to experience Tetsuya's.My partner booked us a table for my birthday dinner.Honestly i left Tetsuya's highly disappointed and actually felt ripped off.I understand its a high end degustation restaurant but don't understand the hype. The staff were robotic and shared no emotions.Whilst the food was tasty and well presented it wasnt worth anywhere near $300pp.I ordered a Asahi beer which was served from a bottle and was charged $14.My partner was recommended a glass of wine to pair with the Lamb, the glass of wine was charged at $45.Overall it felt like i was just lining some rich guys pocket....not an experience i will cherish.
Adrian Lim: Great food, ambience and service for the evening.
Rachel OGrady: Loved this place! The staff are amazing. I also loved the restaurants timeless interior that overlooked the Japanese style garden - so classy. Some dishes that were a highlight for me were the oysters, the tuna, and the abalone. That truffle butter served with the bread is awesome as well! Surprisingly, I wasn't a big fan of the famous ocean trout dish, presentation was gorgeous though.
Feroz S: Perfect service & a lot of detail given to our halal dietary requirements. Amazing Japanese food- on par to what I’ve had in some of the best places in Japan.
Pimalyn: Great experience! We had course menu with wine pairings. Food was okay. Service was amazing
Jess Milton: The quality of the food was incredible, the flavour balances of every dish worked so so well. I wouldn’t say it is a Japanese menu, there’s definitely Japanese inspiration. The scallops and wagyu were phenomenalRecommended dishes Wine Pairing, Patagonian Toothfish, Wagyu …More
Randy Chua: phenomenal.
El Aitch: Managed to get a booking at Tetsuya before they moved locations. Really enjoyed the beautiful garden view. The food was very well presented and a delightful experience for the taste buds. The sitting was a little longer than we'd hoped (3.5hrs) with a bit too much time between each course. The service was friendly but it did feel a little not genuine. But overall, it was a decent experience and I'm glad we got to try it.
Myst: 4.5 starsTetsuya is a notable resturant that everyone knows for fine fusion Japanese cuisine. It takes almost half a year to get into this establismenent. Given such high astute reputuation, the review is held at higher level accordingly.Decor: Mesmerising. Soaked in with nature.Food: The signature dish is exquisite. My only disappointment was with the squid pasta with rice. Not a 5 star star, sub par, only thing that kept it somewhat alive were those fingerlimes. If it were replaced with the tooth fish or the tuna dish - I'd said 5/5 mind blowing dishes.Parking: plenty on site, which is rare for city resturantsService: you are served by multiple people - as far as the previous reviews go in regards to this - it's mixed indeed. Some were wonderful, kind, professional and then there was 1 person who was curt and perhaps slightly condescending.Price: subjective

Japanese Academy of Martial Arts in Bankstown, Eastwood & Parramatta areas: what do users think?
Michelle Le Grand: I was interested in learning Karate and decided to try the Japanese Academy. There are lots of Karate places out there but what really made this place different was the quality of the coaches especially Mr Hide Hirayama – an absolute master, highly professional and a true gentleman. No one has the same level of experience that he has and this came across in his classes and the black belt team he manages. I would highly recommend the Japanese Academy whether you are new or looking to compete.
richard sparks: Great School and Great Black belt teachers and students

Y “Yowie” T: All you can eat food court quality Japanese food. Selection is limited and sashimi (small serving) only comes with sushi platter which is designed to be filling. The night we went (June 2023) I think they ran out of dressing sauce for agadashi tofu, it had only two drops of watered down sauce on it. Many dishes were on the salty side of the spectrum. For the price I guess I shouldn’t complain for all you can eat, but I’d probably enjoy it more if I spent the same amount at a food court.
mora cura: It was a convenient place to have a meeting. Although was meaning to go to another suburb . Forgot to take pics. I felt the serving sizes were small, felt as if I was asking for good all the time. Not huge fan. Mid week dine and was quite busy.Vegetarian options: A lot of vegetarian options .
Renea Malazarte: Servers are quite DISORGANIZED. They do NOT communicate with each other. I came hungry, waited 1hr and 19mins for a simple steamed rice, wasnt told from the start that it takes 50mins to cook another batch 😡 or that it was not available. I could have ordered something else entirely!Ordered another batch of Sushi Platter but that NEVER came. There are certain items that you can only order ONCE ONLY like the freakin ice cream. But its AFFORDABLE, so you get what you paid for. Cheap.Another comment I would like to make, 70% of the servers looked very unkempt and disheveled (I know it was a busy Friday night but maybe use a hairnet or hairpins for a more neater look. just saying)All in all, it is NOT really an "EAT ALL YOU CAN" buffet when there is a limit on how many times you can get food on the menu.
Winson Pui: Went all the way to marrickville just to dine here. Got there at 8:30, 2 hours before closing time.Went to the front desk and was told they’re taking no more customers because ‘they’re too busy’.
Jeremy Sun: All-you-can-eat $40 per adult. Have to reserve in advance. The food was okay. Sushi served to us were very random in quality and quantity. The restaurant was very full on the night we visited, but not many East Asians were having dinner there in this Japanese restaurant, and that says something: the food is not exquisite like most Japanese eateries.People were chatting quite loudly and freely to the point I could barely hear my own family talking. It feels more like a family-friendly bar than a classy Japanese restaurant.Parking: Look for parking in Albert Street opposite the restaurant.
Daniel Tissot: We had a great dining experience together. Food was delicious. We opted for the All-you-can-eat and enjoyed a wide variety of snacks, entrees, salads, delicious meats, seafood, and ice cream. Customer service wasn't bad, but the staff were so busy. The restaurant was packed. We were still served in a timely manner. My favourite dishes were the Karage chicken, Katso chicken, and the Mushroom Salad. Sushi was average, but the show stopper was definitely the Teriyaki diced beef. It was a 10/10. All for less than 40 AUD per person! That is a great valueWe had a great dining experience together. Shadale Din: Second time here in a week ( date night dinner with the hubby + mother’s day lunch). Mum really loved receiving a crown, as all mums did that day ( what a lovely touch!). Both times here did not disappoint ☺️. Delicious dishes and at great value for $40/pp. Def recommend for a cute date or family experience 😊
Jessica Tran: Visited Silverwater branch about 6 years ago and it was good. Visited Marrickville branch yesterday for my Mother’s Day dinner and boy was I terribly disappointed by the quality of food. The food was mostly bland. The chicken wings were dried and over cooked. Spring rolls barely had any filling. Takoyaki balls barely any octopus, only glutinous filling to fill you up. Everything else didn’t excite me. Only nice dish was the black sesame ice cream. My family and I wont be coming back rather spend our money in a restaurant with good quality food.Kid-friendliness: They had high chair.
Zorb Sebela: Really good value. For $40 am all you can eat Japanese restaurant. Where you order fresh food and not buffet food. The quality of the food was great. Quick, efficient, tasty. However make sure you book. This place is popular and justifiably so.Vegetarian options: Japanese, so always vegetarian options.
Michael Scruton: Went here for dinner and our expectations were exceeded. Two big boys that regularly eat a lot and we felt we indeed had all you can eat. The food was prepared very quickly even though it was clearly very busy. They sang happy birthday and that was super cute - the first time. Then it seemed a bit much the 5th time.Overall great experience.
Tom Clear: Great vibe and good value for money.Food: 5/4|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More
Jae Hunt: Food is great but waiting time is too long to come for each other, short staff, we only have 1and half hour to dine, but each order come at more than 15 minutes, even not order turn up...for that reason we give you 1 star. Not happy
晋欽劉: Good

TDP_CAMP Sklasse: Awesome! Sushi & sashimi are so fresh. Chicken teriyaki’s also nice! Just one stop away from my hotel at strathfield st. Reasonable place to visit.Try bento box! :D
Julie T: I made an online order which stated ready for pick up in 20mins. Got to restaurant 20mins later and rude waitress said there is a delay and will be ready in another 15mins. Waited outside which waitress was aware of. 30mins later waitress gives our order to us which has been ready sitting on the bench for at least15mins.Sashimi was not fresh and one of our dishes had a hair in it. Highly not recommended.
Aiman Farrag: Outstanding quality for the last 3 years of eating there 2 or 3 times a week! the only negative is they are closed on Sunday and Monday.

Charles Hitchen: Very good Japanese food
Robert Goodall: Stopped here randomly, very impressed. Lovely food, great server. Will go again.
Alex Campos: It’s good. Just not authentic Japanese. They sorta mix various Asian flavour profiles into one. But ingredients are fresh and it’s well cooked. Nothing was dry
Slim D: Used to be 4 stars imo, but quality of food has dropped some months ago (been twice recently, and noticed the difference).

Eloise W: Great customer service and wonderful food. We got catering from Yume sushi a few weeks ago and I highly recommend them.
isabelle woo: i have been dining at yume sushi for over 10 years. the BEST Japanese i’ve ever had & they have a great team.i cannot rate yume sushi higher.
Arun (Hybrid Personal Training): Been here a few times. Delicious food 10/10. Fast service. Fair prices. Great selection and exceptional customer service.Only complaint is the QR code based ordering system. Understandable due to covid. However, the online menu doesn't have photos and full names like other restaurants. The shortened names and lack of images just made it a bit tedious to find items. Hopefully this will change or be back to normall soon.
Shi wing Choi: Super fresh! Vegetable and salad are very fresh. Feel like just pick up in the garden. Chicken really fresh. Even sauce on the chicken still can taste chicken taste. Now a day not much restaurant can taste real chicken taste. Because the other always Over cook and make it too old and try. However, yume sushi make the chicken really good. Sashimi very fresh. Tempura hot and crispy. Even the wasabi is good. The best Japanese restaurant in Sydney.
Rebeka Castelino: Best Benton box I've ever had. We will be back. The silken tofu was so soft and melt in your mouth. The salmon was delicious. Everything was fresh and delicious and the owner gives the best service. All round great experience.
Nadia Gallagher: Love this restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious. The service is also great. Highly recommend
The Wanderer: I love Yume! Definitely the best Sushi & Japanese food that I've come across, and my kids are obsessed! So yummy!!!
Sandro Miranda: As locals from Abbotsford, we were terribly disappointed to learn how things have changed here. The dinning area has bright uncomfortable led lights. The service was poor, Miso soup came cold without spoons, waitstaff was friendly and warmed the Miso upon our request. A $30 BENTO BOX! had ridiculously small portions, no wasabi, no ginger we had to ask for everything, 3 small pieces of tempura with few lettuce leaves. Like counted. Don’t waste your time, definitely not a good value for money. YOU CAN GET $20 BENTO with lots in it somewhere else.
J: Was so disappointed! Both sets of California Rolls I ordered did not came with mayo and fish roe as listed on their menu. Harris Farm have better tasting rolls for less the price. The Rolls where dry and not much flavor to it. Drove 20mins in peak traffic to pick it up and 20mins back for this disappointment. Wont be going back again.
Salti: As locals have been going to Yume Sushi Drummoyne for many years even though it's always been on the expensive side. Always very nice people no matter who's been working there. Unfortunately will now stop going because it is just become too expensive. The last straw was $24 the other day for a takeaway, teriyaki meal (supposedly main meal) with a little bit of rice. Not much bigger than an entree size. Just too expensive. Disappointing.
DJLADYLAURYN: This is the BEST Japanese restaurant - We get the special bento box regularly which is the best bento box we have ever had!!! Everything else we have tried on the menu is amazing from the super fresh sashimi to the mouthwatering teriyaki chicken - I absolutely recommend you go here! 😊 🍱
Richard C: This is the best sushi restaurant in the Drummoyne-fivedock area by far. I’ve spent time in Japan and eaten plenty of sushi there over the years and the food at yume Drummoyne is authentic and high quality. The sushi and tempura is particularly excellent. I’ve been going here for over 10 years and I will keep going back for as long as they’re here. My only wish is they would stay open a bit later, but the food and service is first class.
Anthony Bajjani: So delicious

Jack Cutler: Ramen is fine, nothing special.Service needs attention as they got the order wrong.Bit pricey.
Yu Kuriki: A charming joint that offers delicious and authentic food at a reasonable price. The “hori-gotatsu” Japanese table section is a nice touch. Its name (and the owner is Japanese I think!) and rather slow service aside, this is one of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Sydney!
Kristen Kwong: Great Japanese restaurant offering very reasonable lunch specials. Had the karaage chicken don set which also included 2 pieces of sushi for $15. Decent serving sizes and food was tasty. This restaurant is unique in that it offers seating in traditional Japanese style, with low tables and cushions; but there's a pit under the table if you want to cheat it and sit normally too! Good service too. Will return if we're ever in the vicinity of Usyd again!
Sarah D. Forrest: Good food, good prices.
K: Lunch special for $15-17. Very good food, made to order fried karage and fresh sashimi. Would go more often.
Imogen_7878: Amazing food and service.
Melloh Sg: Affordable hole in the wall Japanese food place. This place is fairly legit for ramen. Since it's rum by Japanese, there's always way to make the food more interesting than on the menu.Things like the hardness of your Noddles or the taste to be stronger can be done! Like all Japanese food places, all you gotta do is ask.Great place and will go back
Ray: The Tokyo Ramen is good and only costs $14, which is great. The sushi choices are a bit pricey for what you get.
erin topfer: AMAZING. Honestly my favourite sushi, doesn’t cost an arm and a leg but the guy puts so much effort in the food he makes and it shows. Cannot ever be disappointed.
Kenneth Yuen: Not bad, but the restaurant can be expanded in floor space
Rachel Chou: A visit long after my graduation from USYD. The Karaage chicken is so good! The best I’ve ever had for a while! Just amazing.
Alina Lee: Nice atmosphere and food. Cute place with floor sittings

BBI College: what do users think?
Matt Black: Great Results, Before I came to BBIC I only knew Japanese words. Minako Sensei taught me how to construct sentences properly and express myself in Japanese also they are a great help in assisting with study at Language schools in Japan. I recommend the private lessons they are tailored to the students needs and very effective.
grazia df: I'm currently enrolled in BBIC's Japanese course for beginners and I am very happy with my choice! Minako-sensee is a very good teacher, helpful and qualified; after only two and a half months of school, I feel I have already made improvements with the Japanese language. The environment is very friendly, the communication with the course organisation staff is efficient and, overall, the whole study experience so far has been very positive!I do recommend this school to anyone interested in learning Japanese language and culture!
Zhaoistyプリンス: My total 24 weeks of experience in BBICollege could be described as excellence to its core. First of all, courses are way more informative and entertaining than I thought comparing to a proper university language institution. Never really felt dreaded after full day work and study there. My development of implementing Japanese is obvious and I’m actually surprising how much have I learned during this actual short term period.Hayashi sensei is fun, constructive, organised, warm-hearted and helpful and everything great you could’ve imagined. It’s my honour to encounter a such responsible and detailed trainer. (cut off the caffeine tho!!!Sae ;))I’m just indeed glad that i made a good choice at the first place to have my first step of learning Japanese in BBICOLLEGE. The Japan Foundation, Sydney: what do users think?
Allan Wang: This place was amazing, worth the trip, would come here again
Raza Miah: Great place for understanding Japanese culture and language. You can easily be a member and borrow books.
Sally Miles: An incredible facility for promotion of Japanese culture. A well stocked library, language classes, various art exhibitions, language & culture one-off events.
Megumi M: There is a warm and friendly atmosphere, traditional Japanese welcoming. The library is very delightful and there are lots of great collections. All the staff are very knowledgeable.
Binod Adhikri: Help me
Brian Tanny: Good place to get to know Japan, and plenty of community activities too!
Hiro: The Japan Foundation site in Sydney is an overal positive experience, they provide a wide selection of Japanese media and books such as music CD's, classical literature, Japanese learning material as well as manga. On top of this, the place is clean, quiet, has a nice view on top of this the staff know what their doing and are knowledgeable and helpful.Great place, kind of an obscure place to access (it can only be accessed via the elevator.
Kayla Medica: They are worth a drop in whenever you're in the area to check the latest exhibition (always free), and a quiet library area to study or read a book with a nice view of the park
Chaz: Amazing staff, good library also very clean and assorted
Zhuoer Zhang: Had a Japanese proof-reading program several months ago here. Wonderful place for Japanese learners no matter which level you’re in! The books are well-organized with stickers indicating reading levels. And the types differs very well: folks, 絵本, story, traditional art, traveling.... Also the staff were very helpful and kind. Good to practice Japanese! Will come back again after lock down.
John Bygrave: Beautiful netsuke exhibition and a great looking library.
Lin W: Great library. We went to see the woodcarving exhibit which was a nicely curated interesting small exhibit. Free entry too.
julie gray: Terrific library, great exhibitions and fantastic interactive workshops. Staff are very helpful too.
Kat McG: Friendly staff wide selection of books
Dave Moore: Handy source of information
Steve Melissa Grantham: This place is best described as pleasant. Find it on the top of the shopping centre opposite the UTS. Friendly staff and well appointed library. Japan offers such a tremendous variety of attraction and I reckon a Tori'i gate or a megalithic Buddha statue might improve an otherwise sterile atmosphere. See what the Korean Cultural centre on Elizabeth Street has done with their exhibition space. Please consider.
Graham Haberfield: The Japan Foundation presents an ongoing series of exhibitions throughout the year. These deal with a wide variety of aspects of Japanese culture and are all of high calibre. The exhibition space, though small, is well lit, and supporting documentation is generally excellent.
Rafael dos Santos de Oliveira: Great Japanese language courses and plenty of events to practice and learn about the culture
Stuart Anderson: Good library, craft exhibitions, free Japanese film screenings
Yudi Goh: Amazing library to study Japanese and the staff are super friendly.
Jay Adams: I love this place. If you like Japanese culture this is the place for you. Amazing resources and great space for whatever you want to do
