Kid Kyoto: what do users think?
Anna Storey: The biggest rip off for bottomless brunch. One tiny entree and the main was some rice, lettuce leafs and frozen fried squares of pulled pork. Left hungry. Not much for $85
Joshua Lockwood-Tarei: Came here to have dinner for two. Pick and chose our dishes which were all on point.Recommended dishes Kingfish Ceviche Pickled Watermelon Lemon Aspen & Roast Wakame Kosho, Chicken Tsukune, Sticky Corn Ribs, Crispy Skin Chicken …More
Matt Giggs: Great fresh food, awesome team and environment 😎Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Pork Belly Yakitori …More
E.B: The AQUNA was absolutely delicious, I recommend the rice with it!The highlight of the meal in fact!Only four stars because they should write AQUNA on the menu to avoid customer having to ask the waitress if it is the right tasting Murray Cod.I had it at Tetsuya's and I can’t go for anything else since.
Jeani Maia: Wow oh wow! What a surprise box Kid Kyoto was for us. We had a great dining experience. The food was totally delicious and bursting with flavour. The cocktails were of high quality and made to perfection. The service was next level awesome….Caleb you were the bomb! Loved how attentive, smiley, welcoming and thorough you are. The love this guy puts into cleaning and setting up a table was highly admirable. So overall on a Tuesday night, our dining experience overall was 10/10. Thank-you.
YOUNGHWA PARK: 특별한 음식과 친절한 직원이 있는곳! 처음 방문했는데 기대이상의 좋은 경험이었습니다! 다시가고싶어요.
KRIS S: Great experience, amazing food and friendly staff! :)
Dominique Chevalier-Watchirs: Came here for an Archie Rose whiskey tasting night paired with the wonderful food of Kid Kyoto. I was blown away by the quality of the food and the service was fantastic 👌 Especially liled the kingfish sahimi. I will definitely return to this awesome restaurant.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/4Recommended dishes Kingfish Sashimi, Kingfish Ceviche Pickled Watermelon Lemon Aspen & Roast Wakame Kosho …More
Chayut O: Went for a deluxe set. Very interesting fusion food. Creative indeed. Reasonable portion size. food is rather too tasty. Honey glazed and other sauces are just too sweet. Very friendly staff and know their food.Food: 5/3|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Amir: Nice Atmosphere, polite staff. The menu looks great on paper but in reality most dishes were over seasoned to make up for lack of flavour and it was too overpowering. Similar with the desert, it was too sweet and overpowered the more mild undertones. Overall, only 2-3 great dishes from the 9 which isn't ideal. Drinks are hit and miss depending on what you order.
Dan Stanning: This is the type of restaurant I really like, ones that have a set menu with lots of courses of really interesting food. Most of the dishes were hits, with the pork belly yakitoru and the trout being the highlights. The chicken was a little tasteless but cooked well. The service from the staff was outstanding. Well worth a visit.
Petrus Kwan: Had an amazing Friday night dinner here celebrating a friends birthday. The food and drinks were great and service was exceptional!! Definitely worth trying outRecommended dishes Pork Belly Yakitori, Corn Ribs Smoked Chilli Miso Togarashi …More
Paul Hughes: Awesome in every way food atmosphere service all 5 star. Loved itRecommended dishes Kingfish Ceviche Pickled Watermelon Lemon Aspen & Roast Wakame Kosho …More
Leanne: Very average food, not worth the price. Food generally over seasoned and overpowering. Chicken reminded me of woolies chicken.
Jhaysie Cruz: A very well deserved 5 stars. Lee was an exceptional server. On time with food, cleaning, ordering, and just an overall well-rounded experience he created for us. The deluxe menu is more than worth its price. $85 pp for a 9 course meal! Incredibly satisfying and cohesive dining experience. Would highly recommend for any occasion.
Ross: Lunchtime almost deserted. Food interesting but limited choices if U can't abide starchFood: 5/4|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/3 …More
Harmonee Tsang: Set menus are advertised as "omakase" which is not true. It's just a tasting menu. However, food was good, service decent.Food: 5/4|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/4Recommended dishes Corn Ribs Smoked Chilli Miso Togarashi …More
Beth Dee: I went here for an event pairing Archie Rose Whisky with the Kid Kyoto menu and had a great time. The front entrance is in Bridge Lane. The transfer from bustling streets to hidden back lane feels fun and adventurous. The decor is a combination of sophisticated and grungy Neo Japanese style in teal. The drinks menu is long (maybe a bit too long) but it ensures you have all your standard drinks plus a selection of specialised cocktails, sakes and Japanese whisky. There is also a good range of non-alcoholic options including mocktails, beer and wine. The food menu has a great range without being overwhelming. The food itself was really really delicious. They had vegetarian options that were as good as the meat and fish options. The food is decently priced for the quality you get.The stand outs for me were the dessert (white chocolate purin, rhubarb sorbet, matcha sable and strawberry); the figs with black sesame and chilli oil; and the corn ribs. The staff were friendly and attentive and the service was excellent. I would definitely come here again.Vegetarian options: I had the vegetarian menu and didn’t feel like I was missing out when comparing it to the meat and fish options that were brought out. Lots of variety and yum.
Maddie Hepner: Had such a great meal! Kid Kyoto is tucked away in Bridge Lane but always packs a punch. My parents and I make sure when we’re in Sydney to come here for dinner and this time it did not disappoint! We had the Deluxe edition tasting menu, everything was so yummy and the kitchen timed the food coming out perfectly so we didn’t feel too rushed or full at the end of it.Pork belly was a serious stand out, so succulent and tasty! Cocktails were yummy and atmosphere was really fun. Felix our server was really personable and kind. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Nazimi: what do users think?
Vivian Su: Lovely little lower-ground restaurant for a cosy and casual night out. Being located in a more quiet street of the CBD, it doesn't have a very noticeable presence but this place is still deserving to be pocketed into someone's repertoire of Sydney's Japanese restaurant gems. What really helped was their easily accessible and clear menu on their website that made it easy for us to decide what to get before stepping in. For their dinner mains menu it would be more convenient if they had an option to make it into a meal (e.g. + miso soup, + rice, + option of side).I appreciate their attention to flavour in their dishes being well balanced and satisfying. Props to the chef who made the nasubi tofu yaki because the eggplant was grilled to softness in a subtle melt-in-your mouth way and well complemented with the fried tofu. 🍚
Crosley Carpenter: Beautiful “Japanese” service and food. We both had starters from the specials menu: cabbage pancake and crumbed potato and crab rolls, then Vegetable tempura and Tasmanian Salmon for mains. Food beautifully cooked and presented, quick service, reasonably priced. Tables a little close together, but we managed. Recommended.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More
Rolf Wam Fjell: DELICIOUS!!!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Joanne Andreolas: The gyoza was nice. My drink had flat soda water. My Teriyaki Salmon Udon was dry and didn't have enough flavour. Quite disappointed, wouldn't go back.Food: 5/3|Service: 5/3|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More
Wendy: Quaint little Japanese restaurant near QVB serving good food. The menu seem a bit smaller than what I remember but the food is still good and full of flavour. Decent portions and the food was quick to come out of the kitchen. We felt a bit rushed because the waitress kept looking over to check if we were finished, and then collected our plates without first checking if we were finished. The drinks peach soda and their cocktail tasted a bit watery but otherwise it was a good dining experience. Good for a quick dinner after work.
Y Y .C: The gyoza was slightly burnt. The pork katsu cooked very dry. It was tough to chew.Food: 5/2|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/2 …More
tonylemonade: Went in on Saturday. Presentation is good, but rice was cooked too dry and hard, not cooked on the day but the day before I assume.
JV Construction interior david: Really good food and Services and Owner is very kind!😃
Robin Tabari: Food and service was great.Venue is intimate, and close proximity with others.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/3Recommended dishes Dragon Roll …More

Andrew Schebella: Didn't know about the place was invited along tried a few things and the food is exceptional goodFood: 5/5|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
ML: Fried item was cold which means it was fried long before it was even ordered. Don't be lazy guys. Work properly and be honest guys. Food was below average quality but price was same as quality ones at other restaurants. $24 menu should be priced as $12 or $13 to be fair. Also there was 3% discount on paying cash? Why is that?
Annie Wong: Nice restaurant with food quality food and quick service. But the seats are not very spacious so maybe not very suitable for big group of people. The sashimi is really fresh. I personally think the sashimi is better than the sushi. We also ordered wagyu steak which is perfectly cooked. Soft shell crab tempura is crispy and not greasy as well. They offer good deal AUD 5 per one Kirin Ichiban beer. And we ordered their homemade yuzu sorbet and mango gelato. Both not too sweet but rich flavour. Perfect to end the dinner with the desserts. 😚😚
Johnny Li: Your average Japanese restaurant. The usual sashimi and sushi. If you are looking for a cozy place to feed your craving, then this is the place to goFood: 5/3|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/3 …More

Nightcore X Vocaloid: Haven't been here yet, but I'm surprised people expect this place to be as cheap as Kmart? These are imports... Go back to Kmart for cheaper goods because you clearly left your brain there too
Jessie: Price is good and lot of useful Japanese goods!
Sampath Jayasekera: Not much things as I expected
Jonathan Ng: Not much variety of goods. However some similar products with the Hong Kong ones. Hopefully the store is authentic same as Hong Kong one. Prices are also a bit expensive would prefer other stores like K*art
Amitesh Naidu: Great collection of good quality Japanese household items. However the price is really up there.
Bruce Aiken: Love this place...the staff are so friendly and helpful, I was able to find a mother's day gift that my mother really loved.

Susan Street: I really enjoyed this sushi e experience, beautifully presented, totally edible food. Please try, you won’t be disappointed!
Admin: If I could give no stars I would.Only good thing to say was that the wagyu and soft shell crab were excellent. We had the tasting menu, everything else was mid.Cons: terrible intrusive service and rude waitresses. Waitresses continuously interrupted our conversation to ask if we would like more drinks. One waitress spilt our drink on my friends dior bag and new, very nice watch, she offered no apologies and fetched napkins to dry the table, totally neglecting to give us napkins to dry ourselves off (until we asked). I’m appalled by the service. The bar seating is also extremely uncomfortable offering no bag hooks under the table. The three of us spent $800. Would undoubtedly get better service at my local sushi train. To get in to the restaurant there is a bouncer at the door giving the impression we’re going in to a nightclub…he has to go through his tacky clipboard for 2 minutes before letting you in through the lift. Shockingly came out the staff/garbage lift (only lift available at the time) at the end of our night & the smell was so horrendous I almost threw up my meal.Summary - a painful, regrettable dining experience.
Anita H: The place was nice but the staff was not friendly at all and was quiet grumpy! Even though it was not a busy day the service was not great at all!The food quality however was good specially the Uramaki.
Chairs: Went on a Tuesday afternoon and sashimi was not fresh at all. Fish was rubbery and grainy like it was defrosted. Really disappointed in the quality given the prices. The sushi itself was cut poorly, some pieces were too thick and because of how bad the quality was, it was really hard to eat. Staff was fine however. We ordered two different cocktails but they tasted the same? A bit sad :(
Bonnie Huang: I had an absolutely delightful experience at Sushi e. The Wagyu Uramaki was nothing short of amazing - it was so tender and flavorful. The No.1 non-alcoholic cocktail was the perfect accompaniment to my meal - it was refreshingly delicious! The vibe at Sushi e was simply amazing - the ambiance was great and it was the perfect place to catch up with friends.
Katie: Amazing Japanese food - we loved it!
Haris N: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes King Prawn Tempura, Sashimi Selection, Chicken Karaage, Wagyu Beef TatakiMore
Helen Xiao: It’s a gem hidden in the heart of CBD. We were served by chef Misuch he made every single dish to be perfect with surprising! Limited seats , luckily we got the booking for our special event.
Sean Sturge: Amazing
Jay S: Amazing fresh sushi quality and attentive service by the host and various servers. Enjoyed the tuna carpaccio and a variety of nigiri pieces including a5 wagyu with caviar, salmon, snapper, horse mackerel. Had a nice glass of Chablis wine to pair. Wouldn’t hesitate recommending to friends and family, check it out!
E L: Good food but pricey , would go somewhere else for better value. bad service , waitress gives you a vibe she doesn’t wanna serve you, would def not come again
Min Hur: Sushi restaurant at the Est Precinct, the quality of the sushis were great and it was made from fresh ingredients. They could improve on the options available for other foods and the prices were on the relatively high end.Food: 5/4|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/4Recommended dishes Sushi …More
fleur lasser: Very yummy sashimi and delicious, so fresh would definitely recommend this restaurant. We ordered the 18 pieceFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
shanni: Super fresh and fast deliveryRecommended dishes Sushi, Sashimi Selection, Chicken Karaage …More
W Ung: Lacklustre to say the least. I get you’re trying to provide the unique omakase experience ala *insert famous omakase restaurant here* but the price you pay just doesn’t quite add up in value.Barely any interaction from the chef, if I wanted to overextend and and overpay for medium quality of food I would have just gone to Nobu.On the bright side, I felt like I was in Rush 2 and the cocktails were decent.
Qianyun Mu: Avoid this place at all costs. Sashimi and nigiri are supposed to be fresh, but sashimi and nigiri were so smelly that they left a bad taste lingering in your mouth. How can a restaurant sell such expansive food with such bad quality? The food is so expensive but so cheap. Truly amazing.Food: 5/1|Service: 5/1|Atmosphere: 5/1 …More
Sam Robertson: Incredible food, amazing staff. Really have to commend everyone who served me and my partner as it was flawless.
Selim Vanlioglu: Great service. Great food. Already came back for more. Will come back again and again
Choppy Breslin: Came here for my 6th year wedding anniversary. Service was lovely however very disappointed with the food. Sushi was nice however the 9+ wagyu at $105 was terribly over cooked. Firstly i was told be the waiter that this is medium rare we can get the chefs to cook it rare if you like?... it was definitely not meduim rare . The next excuse used was, because it was cooked over charcoal this is how it is. Having experience myself as a chef with over 20 years experience and cooking over coals, clearly the coals were not hot enough and the lack of colour on the outside of the steak and the inside being near medium well indicated that this was the case. To top it off I watched as the leftover sushi rice was wrapped up in clingwrap and put away to use for the next day.
Vasco Nunes: Great sushi - all very fresh and diverse!

Kamtorn Tarawiwat (YoNG): We enjoyed both the Wagyu steak and Shabu as they were exceptionally delicious. The meat was incredibly tender and fresh. It's recommended to have congee instead of rice. The soup was incredibly delicious, made from a combination of beef and vegetables. The service was also excellent, with the staff being very attentive and polite.

Gabi Zalas: We tried to make a reservation. I understand that booking my require a credit card (but still bizarre to me), however forcing people to spend at least 75$ (even if you are a walk in) is outrageous.
D S: Quality ingredients, superb cooking. Every bite is delicious, staff is also incredibly friendly. One dish took longer then expected to arrive and we were given miso soup while we waited.
Emma Epstein Ogiso: I ordered the new year's lunch box(osechi) and to put it bluntly, it was one of the most disappointing experiences that I’ve ever had.- the photo on the ad only showed random wooden boxes that was not included(for context usually an osechi will come with a box)- one of the dishes were canned products that they didn’t even make- they didn’t include the tataki that was in the list of things that was supposed to be in it- they were all packaged in a sealed plastic bag, and seemed like there was no attempt to make it decent?- flavor was mediocre at bestI’ve never dined in at Azuma, so this review is just for the osechi. If you are consider getting the osechi for 380 dollars and 17 bucks for handling fees(which I didn’t understand they charged us that when we had to pick it up from them anyway) I’ll strongly recommend not getting azuma’s.
Ahmad: The food is not bad, but they waste our time with poor parking service. One shouldn't wait 15 minutes to get out of their carpark. It's a somewhat upmarket restaurant with prices to reflect that, but customer service is poor.Parking: Their parking lot is four levels below ground, but getting out is made difficult due to poor customer service. This car park was a one star experience.
Gary Bai: Best traditional Japanese restaurant in Sydney by far. Everything - taste, service, ambience - is on point. Definitely a must try for fans of traditional Japanese food - I have been multiple times and each time it has been consistently amazing.Highly recommend the toothfish, caviar, and the shabu shabu (make sure you get the risotto afterwards which they make with the stock from the shabu shabu).
Stevo The Devo: One of the best Japanese restaurants in Sydney. The staff is friendly and very professional too.Always enjoy my time there.
Jarrod Evans: Outstanding. Everything was brilliant here from the service, the food and the experience overall.
Евгения Саркулова: clear willing return
Courts: that. within format?

IZAKAYA Masuya: what do users think?
Ngoc Cathy Tran: Be mindful before you book! I looked for Masuya restaurant on Google map and using opentable website to book for dinner. It linked to a different restaurant called Izakaza Masuya which is same owner but it’s more like takeout sushi. When we arrived we were told that we had no booking and direct us to the other one …. We were so confusing and disappointed… we travelled an hour and half and just ended up with takeaway sushi😞 trying to address the issue with Masuya restaurant but were advised “that is the way it is and they can’t do anything abt it”. What a Japanese experience.
Zoe Zhang: Good quality and reasonable price!
Patrick Ryan: Food was fantastic. So was the service. One thing I would note is that the booking was offered as late at 20:15. The kitchen closed while we were there pretty soon after that. Hien Dinh: I love Japanese food. My friend took me to this awesome hidden Japanese restaurant near Wynyard (O'Connell St)The kingfisher was out of this world! Super fresh and full of flavour as it melts in your mouth. My usual fav is the Agedashi Tofu, crispy and semi sweet. The best part is the massive sashimi platter. So fresh and tasted divine! Will want to go back just to have their Bento boxes... looks tasty!!
Russell Charles: It is a five star in its category. It is not a luxury diner, but a reliable fine diner in the basement level. The sushi is reliable. Better than any typical Korean-owned sushi train / fusion, but not at Azuma/Daruma level (and certainly not any global Japanese player). Service is polite, generally reliable, but annoying at times. Got a selection of small table side hotpots. Nothing amazing, but always solid and reliable. In fact that is the case across the board. Standout dish is the misoyaki chicken thigh. It's the Lexus IS of Japanese diners. Toilets and floors are a bit dated and unclean, but the buzz will make you forget it.
Robyn Kim: I had Masuya Bento at lunchtime. It looked good, but deep fried Prawn and vegitable was cold, ask them exchange that looked greasey which I lost appetite. This is highlighted when I mentioned Lady at Counter and told me that was " We can not make all food on the spot which means I have to accept cold food???It was not impressed.

Celia Ho: 0 star for atmosphere because there’s a huge cockroach crawling on the sofa seating we’re sitting. Frightening to see this in a high end restaurant. Staff didn’t proactively apologised for what happened.Wagyu steak was sliced too thick, became too chewy.Still great variety of sashimi, nicely sliced and the sashimi boat is attractive.Won’t visit again. Your $110pp meal can be better spent at somewhere else nicer than Masuya in Sydney.
Walt N: Good quality Japanese dishes yet affordable price. Love their skewers and lightly salted grilled dishes and fishes. Their hotPots are ideal for winter weather. This little store and the store below have attracted many Japanese salarymen here. Spoke with one of the managers, he wakes up early in the morning to hand pick his dishes/tuna.
LEE DON: Very reasonable price and very kind staff.Best of the best Javanese restaurants in Australia.Extremely fresh Oysters and very smooth Beef ever.
Bobcat Bobstar: Quality of sushi was good and we loved it but the waitresses need more training. One that took our order didn't repeat and confirmed what we ordered and missed one dish for my kids. It took so long for the missed dish to come and the kids were so hungry but the rest of us have already finished our meal. Pork cutlets were so tiny for the price too.
Wilson Jiang: Good food, very fancy ambience so consider dressing up if you’re going
Tomas Rutherford: Food: 5/3|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/3More

MISO Japanese Restaurant: what do users think?
Adele Zhou: Solid 5/5. Great quality food for the price. Very clean and efficient. Food came out quickly.
Music of love: I think chef is gone, food feels different
AJ C: FOOD. Reasonable serving. It was delicious and I was so full and happy.PLACE. Nice and tidy. No issues.SERVICE. Quick service. Approachable staff.
Joshua Zrim: Favourite Tonkatsu place in all of Sydney!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Pork Tonkatsu Set …More
C T: Good and quick , the nepalese (not really sure , he wear glasses ) staff hardwork and very good service , he very brilliant .
Tasha L: Very disappointed after my last visit. I used to come to this restaurant very often for delicious food and service. My drink came in a broken glass cup, leaking, and I had to ask for a new one, explaining how unsafe it was to drink from a broken glass. They forgot my order and my friend got their meal first. I was left waiting for over 45 minutes and the chef yelled at me to ask for what my order was. Food was edible. No compensation was offered.Management and quality service has severely declined since post-covid. The meals served do not match the menu pictures like it originally did. Would not come here again.
Hong Nguyen: I would have given this place a 5 star but unfortunately the one thing that was bothering me was the smell! As soon as you enter the restaurant there's this immediate strong wet and musty like smell 😕 They really need to do something about how they're cleaning and wiping down the tables. It was not very pleasant and if anything a bit off putting so PLEASE do something about this!! The store itself is also a bit rundown.Besides this, I enjoyed their food. Ordered one of their set meal - "Sashimi and Unaju Set". The sashimi was very decent, the cut was nice and thick. Very fresh sashimi. Also tried their yuzu green tea. Definitely a refreshing drink!Staff was pretty friendly. Overall service was good.NOTE: The yogurt is not the same anymore. It doesn't taste like it used to be. They used to have these yogurt that reminded me of the ones that I had in Japan.
Catharine Wang: Fast Japanese food restaurant. They served set meal for both dinning and takeaway. There are so many choices on their menu, and most of them in $20-$30 per set. It’s a good place to go during lunch time.
K Y: I can see this review is contrary to many others but for this tonkatsu meal, I found the crumbed pork to be absolutely tasteless. The meat and the crumb itself was flavourless and underseasoned. The side dishes were however nice, the miso soup creamy, the glass noodle was the tastiest item of the table. Service was good.
Allan Kusen: Food was good but nothing amazing. Service was good. Restaurant had a horrible smell.
lewis hunt: Rock n rollFood: 5/4|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More
Mikaela: So tasty and such generous portions! Well-balanced meals with a bit of everything. This has become one of my favourite places to eat in the CBD.
Henry Bajelis: Good food. Great rice.
Nina Olivia: I love the chicken katsu & egg here. They are delish! We also ordered pork katsu, one without sauce, one with sauce. I love the one with the sauce. I think the sauce compliments the pork katsu.
Enyi: Sauce on the pork is overly sweet. Not very healthy when they promote healthy. The rest of the dishes are ok. The store felt run down with unstable tables and holes in the wall. Give it a face lift.
Howard C: Given the concept, it would have been 5 stars for what it offered if it wasn't for the sub standard service. They specialise in set meals (Teishoku) and bento boxes and are part of the Masuya chain which are synonymous with quality from my experience. So, with this store, since they specialise in set meals in the middle of the CBD, they are catering to office people who have a set time for lunch. We were served by an untrained waiter who took 2 orders wrong with delayed the food of the two people for 15 minutes in a group of 9.Other than that, their wagyu beef was juicy and flavoursome. Yes, flavourSOME! This was in their Chirashi Sushi & Wagyu Set. The waiter forgot to ask how I wanted the salmon as there was 3 ways to cook it. They chose to give me the grilled salmon which was cooked well. The other elements were fresh and good. They pride themselves on their pork Tonkatsu but my colleague said it was quite tough, although it looked plump and juicy. Perhaps it was because it was free range. I will hold off on my judgement till I eat it but it did look good.
Joe Khoo: Unagi Bento ($31) looked appetising and was delicious.
G G: It is a hit or miss with the pork quality. I have come here for more than 10 years. Always remains a mistery if I get a proper or poor meat quality. I used to like the sides, but recently they decided to limit the choices or charge extra. Service has always been poor, but that is just the feature of the place. From overall experience consistent delivery of average 3/5 stars

Winnie C: Delicious ramen and reasonably priced. I like the way they address the checkout process. Every side dish in your bowl is decided by yourself. You are ordering your own bowl from plain ramen/udon. This is the champion comparing to other competitors nearby.Vegetarian options: It will be great if there could be more vegetarian options however I was happy with the Nitamago😊
keke ow: Amazing amazing value for money, seriously nothing to fault with what you receive in accordance to how much you are paying. Generous portions, delicious umami flavours and bouncy udon noodles. I ordered the regular koro mappen (choice of hot or cold) and it came with a very generous amount of crab stick, tofu and mushrooms that added great texture and flavour. The broth is quite sweet but it is comforting and the egg is just the best part. Will definitely be back:

Address: 458/460 Hume Hwy, Yagoona NSW 2199, Australia

Schedule: Opens at 10:00 AM

Telephone: +61 2 9790 0692

Business type: Home goods store

Direct from Japan: what do users think?
Deborah Dover: I bought a Donabe on Saturday and used it since Sunday every night. Great product, easy to use, healthy cooking. Great service and pricing.
Invisible Ink: All the ceramics are beautiful. Good quality and well priced. A great place to shop. Nice staff.
Julio Clavijo: What ever you need in Japanese is there all you need to do is go. Genario from Palermo
Harabuhji: Direct from Japan? Very questionable. There is only a small sticker indicating "made in Japan". It can be printed anywhere in the world. The items sold are if not bad quality but definetly overpriced. The greatest problem is the sales/owner. Firstly, they do not provide wrap paper for a gift even when someone purchases an item costing over $200. Further, he is talking too much irrelevant things and I get the impression that he is trying to outsmart everyone. Good on him.Wrapping was done with old chinese newspapers and some tape. I do not know if this is a business model when a small plate costs 23 dollars.Anyway, the owner is not Japanese. And if the products are trully made in Japan is questionable. Items are overpriced. Nevertheless, items are not of bad quality.
stanley whippy: All your Japanese crockery and very reasonable priced. Great staff and helpful
Alexis Colby: I have recently visited this delightful little shop in Yagoona and really enjoyed my experience. Here is a breakdown of my review with crucial information regarding operations, getting there, parking etc - this is an in depth review with included photo images.CUSTOMER EXPERIENCEWhen I first stepped into this store my first impressions were that it was a combination of charming and nostalgic. It was like stepping into another time and another place - you wouldn't think you were in a Sydney suburb.I was also impressed with the way the stock was organized very well. The shelves were well stocked and items were grouped according to their function ie teapots were grouped together as well as plates, bowls etc.The owner was a quiet and attentive man who was very helpful in guiding around his well organised store. He was able to offer assistance and expertise in the products he stocked for example when I was looking at what I thought was a tea cup with a lid, he kindly advised me that it was for eggs and also offered information about the actual colour and glaze. It was a beautifully detailed piece (image included) with a striking deep green colour that the owner told me was a colour that was not easy to achieve.QUALITYI LOVE pottery especially ceramics from Eastern worlds. I have studied fine arts - ceramics so of course I was like a kid in a candy store! I love good quality and handcrafted pottery and I especially love Japanese ceramics because of the attention to detail and the way Japanese pottery always seems more sculptural but always skillfully rendered. Each piece that I examined had a certain weight and feel to them unlike cheap ceramics that flood the market, you can actually feel the quality. The feel and texture of every piece I picked up and held in my hands was different each time. It is almost as if every piece of pottery had a "soul". Every individual item of the hand crafted pottery was easy to distinguish because a group of 5 small noodle bowls for example, had differing qualities with shape and form in the most subtle way and you knew it was not factory made but hand crafted.VARIETYThere was quite a variety of handcrafted ceramics that I would catergorize in authentic Raku Japanese pottery as well as thrown pottery (made on the wheel) but there were also other items besides pottery. There were also things like Habatchi grills in different sizes, embossed detailed chopsticks made from wood with fine tips and other beautiful home decor pieces that you will NOT find at Kmart (see images).PRICE POINTYou can find beautiful pieces which are priced quite affordably and even some great bargains! There are some authentic Japanese Raku pieces that were priced fairly well.Admittedly, the price point for some of the items may seem a bit on the higher end, however the EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY of pieces offered up at this little shop are anything short of luxurious. Bearing in mind, this is pottery HANDCRAFTED IN JAPAN and the quality, uniqueness and beauty each individual piece holds is worth the price tag.OPENING HOURSDirect from Japan operates only 4 days per week and the times are listed below:Wednesday 10am–5pmThursday 10am–5pmFriday 10am–5pmSaturday. 10am–5pmSunday ClosedMonday ClosedTuesday ClosedLOCATION + PARKINGThis shop is located on the corner of the Hume highway + Cooper street, it is not hard to miss as it is a very clearly branded shop.Driving - Direct from Japan is easy to locate as it is on the corner of the Hume Highway and Cooper street in Yagoona.Public transport - the train station is about 3-5 mins walking distance. For buses the 907 and M91 Hills buses are available.Parking - Travelling to Yagoona from the Bankstown direction on the Hume Hwy make sure you turn right into Cooper street for some street parking. If you are coming in the opposite direction (from Bass Hill side) there will be parking on the same side of the Direct from Japan shop (which are quite popular so Cooper street parking is best).
qingshu shenbaise: beautiful..
David Phan: Such friendly service, and really high quality products! Will definitely be back soon
Howard Tran: Great products all made in japan. pricing fair too
Michelle Li: Friendly and super helpful, have been coming here for years, quality of service and products has stayed true over these many years.
anne sweet: Just received my bowls and they are absolutely beautiful! Fast, friendly service, huge range of products and great prices. I'll be back.
Henry Szymczak: They have some really nice stuff in stock.
gaye hoskins: Ordered a Christmas gift online. I got an immediate personal response via email clarifying delivery and was able to amend the order as well. Delivered to regional NSW, intact, within a week. Communication, dispatch and delivery seamless and efficient. The products are simply beautiful and far exceeded my expectations. The noodle bowls, in particular, are stunning. And the cost was more than reasonable. Anyone looking for authentic and gorgeous Japanese dinner and serving ware, don't hesitate!
Andy Novak: Love it
Suzie Haslam: Absolutely gorgeous wares at very reasonable prices. Postage was very fast too, I've definitely buy from them again.
Bill Laufoli: You have to see for yourself. I like it.
Cindy Lin: Wide range of Japanese tablewares with reasonable price tag and the owner is super friendly. Highly recommend!
Stephen Ryman: Beautiful homewares in the shop, we live close but finally came to visit! Didn't regret it
Di: Verious choices and friendly staff
BowKhamlue: The price was reasonable (and some are even cheaper!). I bought a sake set for my co-worker and I got sake set that only $49.90 (but it’s on sale when I bought it, the original price is $69.90 but still reasonable because you got bottle and two cups!). Especially the staff, I met kind, friendly and nice lady who worked there, she helps me a lot! She listened to my request and offered me what and which one is most reasonable to buy.Love this place definitely will come back to buy more!!!
Megan Khuu: Purchased a konro grill recently and picked up in store. I requested that they reserve the item a few days beforehand and they were happy to reserve it for me, despite it normally selling out within days of it being restocked. When I picked up the item, the owner was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain to me how to preserve and care for the konro grill so that it lasts for years to come. I take every opportunity to support small businesses where I can and I am glad I was able to meet one of the owners in person. A lovely man with a great charisma and knowledge of his products. I am looking forward to returning to take a better look at the ceramics they offer. Thank you!
