Brasserie Bread: what do users think?
Anna P: overall ok but your chocolate croissants only have a tiny dot of chocolate in them 😭
Nadia Marcinkowski: I wrote a review for Artisan Bread, seems like it's the same place as Brasserie Bread. So yes the old BB doesn't exist anymore, there's new owners. What we experienced here was low key and minimal, no baking classes anymore But what was there was very good. We ordered a takeaway lunch, ate-in at what was formerly the cafe. Service was friendly, with good time. Food, ie toasted gourmet sandwiches, espresso coffees, and a pastry each, was delicious!! We wish this bakery well and hope business picks up for them again to match the glory days before that troublesome pandemic hit. We're from out of the area, but will definitely visit again on our way through.
Suresh: Absolute best sourdough breads in Sydney. My favourite is the sour cherry loaf. I like the olive and rosemary loaf, harvest grains and the sprouted wheat loaf too. It's a real pity it's not widely available in the Hills district where I live. There is just one IGA which stocks it and even there I have to order a couple of days in advance if I want the sour cherry loaf.
Emma: Amazing Sourdough bread and Pastries.Brasserie Bread has a large range of Pastries, croissants etc. Coffee and soft drinks are available. We got the Almond Croissant which was great (I personally found it superior to Sonomas one). Also got the Pear pastry which had a chocolate custard filling and it too was great. There is plenty of space inside and you can see the dough being made from the large windows that allow easy viewing.Plenty of street parking available at no cost. Wheelchair accessiblePrices are good.Definitely worth a visit.
Carlo Jenilian: Awesome Bakery, everything is so fresh, really enjoyed the mozzarella sandwich, perfectly toasted, tasted absolutely amazing, thanks guy's, look forward coming back.
Rene Hartmann: Went there for a job interview and the barista gave me a very intiminating look and feeling.I would not feel compfterabel being served by him.
Alizée Booth: Literally just walked in and both of the staff were on the phones and hardly acknowledged us. So rude.
Rodrigo del Busto: As always their breads and Pastries are amazing 🤩. Sad to see that they had to lose the cafe section due to covid. However please note they are very active in the catering front and worth a visit if you have not been there in a while .And did I mention their coffee is great 😊
Erick T: Was ok. Service was quick and efficient. The Danish pastry was sweet and has flavour, but lacks the flakiness I prefer. The almond croissant and sourdough was just ok as well. For the price, it's ok.
Richard Lewis: Take away only now.
Calib Mulipola: Chocolate caramel tarts are absolutely heavenly!!!!!!!!! I can't even argggghhyhhhh
John Bygrave: Excellent bread, buy large loaves for value. Pastries good quality as well.
Jon Slack-Smith: No longer any dine in tables, but still excellent bread and pastries.
Tom Alfry: Love the AllPress coffee here and the pistachio and raspberry croissants are to die for. Great fresh bread too!
Hideaki Adacchie: 最高だよ、ここのBread
Graham Cole: Only take away. Disappointing.Hope you are able to open up full inhouse dining facilities asap.
Hugo Fabrício Silva Machado: Amazing.
Shawn Donnelly: Excellent great food
John Harrison: Bought 3 pastries. Almond croissant just made and fabulous. Other two were stale. Coffee good but not great.
Tessa Mcleod: Searched 5 artisian baked goods cafes to find the best, freshest, crunchy Almond Crossiants!!! Walkable distance to park too.
Robert Zanghi: Unfortunately i had to gove this place 1 star.If it was within my power it would be negative 5. Rude customer service and what's worse, fingernails found in bread that i purchased. Disgusting!!!

Kids Love to Cook: what do users think?
Rosie Green: For my daughter’s 9th birthday, Beth came and hosted a cooking party in our home. The girls made delicious gozleme, chocolate brownies and fruit smoothies. Beth kept all the girls engaged and made it a lot of fun. All the girls had a wonderful time. Beth was great to work with and was also very understanding and flexible when some changes were required.I would highly recommend Beth and a Kids Love to Cook party!
Mikiko Albiero: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueExcellent party for older primary school kids. Beth was engaging, fun and professional. Kids had a great time and were proud to take home all their delicious cooked meals.
Mark Brown: We had Beth come to our house to do my daughters 10th Birthday Party, Kids love to Cook. We cooked dumplings, Chocolate Brownies and milk shakes. Beth decorated the tables and brought all of the food. It went for 2.5 hours. The kids and adults said it was the best birthday party they had ever been too. Beth is so organised, a fantastic teacher, passionate about her cooking, She was excellent with the kids. They all had a ball. I will highly recommend Beth for a cooking party.
Amelia M: My 10 year old daughter did an online cooking class with Kids Love to Cook today (school holidays) and she loved it. It was great to get the recipe beforehand so we could have ingredients ready to go. The instructor was very informative and patient. The delivery was simple and age appropriate while teaching the kids good knife skills. The food was delicious and something she wouldn’t have found in a recipe book. Great quality presentation. We’ve already booked in for another session this holidays! Looking forward to many more opportunities to take these affordable online classes as there isn’t much around our area that’s affordable in face to face classes.
Afsana Chowdhury: Beth from Kids Love to Cook was fantastic! She hosted my daughter's 8th birthday party last Sunday. She was well organised, on time and kept the kids engaged. She was also very responsive to all my questions leading up to the week and all the parents were very impressed too. It is such a good idea to host an activity based party and both the girls and boys participating loved it- all the parents shared feedback and were so happy their children could be part of this party. Thanks again Beth!
Richa Anand: I just don't have words to describe what an amazing experience my 9year old and her friends had. From planning through the actual event, everything was properly thought out, hosted and executed. Both Beth and Lale were welcoming and patient with 15 kids and managed everything so well that I could actually sit down and talk and even eat during the party. All the kids had a blast making their own pizza, fruit smoothie and cupcakes. My daughter will be talking about it for a long time. Thanks!
Isabel Gray: Gift for teenage daughter. She really enjoyed herself with the 1:1, tips and tricks, and well-paced schedule of the session. Beth worked with us on establishing an appropriate meal plan (for an dietary intolerance), and the appropriate level of the session.Very professional, enjoyable, and would recommend. Will be a return customer :)
Melanie Robertson: Beth was a real delight to deal with. My son had a one on one lesson early in the year and as soon as he was finished he was counting the days until his 7th birthday party.Beth made the party day stressfree. How she coped with 8 very excited kids (plus a extra surprise attendee) amazed me. Highly recommend!! Thanks again Beth. You provided our group of kids with great memories and a wonderful experience.
RAIN & SHINE WORKWEAR AUSTRALIA: Beth, my daughter and her friend had a fantastic time enjoying cooking with you at our house. They had fun learning from you and I like how you ran through the steps with them and also they get to taste test the food they are making along the way and can adjust the taste to what they like. Great fun and highly recommend you. Regards Conrad & Serena
Karen Abarca: We have been getting Beth from Kids Love to Cook out for a couple of years, specifically to facilitate cooking classes for our groups of disengaged young people. Her approach is great, she is very easy to communicate with, and has a genuine passion for both cooking and the community. Thank you Beth!
Tammy: Fantastic venue for my daughter's 10th birthday party! My husband & I were very impressed from start to finish. Communication before-hand was efficient, professional & no question was too much. I was thankful for this. Beth & her team are friendly, helpful & we all felt very welcome on the day. We had 16 children ranging in age from 4.5yrs - 14yrs & it worked for everyone. Great range of choice with menu items available to choose from to create on the day for the children. It was all clean & very well organised, especially for a bigger group of children. There is a lovely, courtyard, which provides a wonderful amount of sun & shade for the parents/adults. There were enough tables for us to set up our cake/party favour box table, gifts & a light lunch for the parents of our party guests. It is a wonderful space to be able to either participate with a younger child or sit back, relax & watch through the glass doors in the courtyard for the older children who can participate independently.A very, highly recommended birthday party venue for the older children who would like something fun, love cooking & want something a little different.Thank you Beth =)
Kathy Fahim: My children had a lovely day cooking and brought home a 3 course meal!
Allison Aernie: My daughter had a great time at the school holiday workshop! She came home with delicious food and more confidence in her cooking skills. She was enthusiastic about her experience!
joyce Liu: My daughter had a 6th birthday there at Sunday afternoon. The location is great, kids have lots of fun there. The party room is colorful, nice and clean. We took a lot of beautiful photos there. The garden is great for the parents waiting and talking. We have a very good time. Highly recommended for the birthday party, kids will love it.
Stephanie Garcia: Beth and her team were great at showing our Kinders how to make yummy nachos! They were accommodating to our large group of 34 students and ensured they had alternatives for our students with dietary requirements. They made cooking fun and exciting for all students and we can't wait to get them in again next year! Thank you so much Kids Love to Cook!

Well organised, quality of ingredients first grade, all in all very impressive, looking forward to doing another class in the future
Denby Liddelow: I thoroughly enjoyed the 2 hour vegetarian cooking class run by Paul who is a very knowledgeable chef and an excellent teacher. All 9 participants clearly had fun and learned a lot through working with Paul to create several really delicious dishes. We were all able to taste the creations towards the end of the class and the wine provided to accompany was a nice touch. I have no hesitation in recommending the class.
Andrew M: Such a great day.Paul really knows his stuff. Friendly, informative and open for questions. Learnt so much.
Peter Colless: Just did the Middle Eastern Banquet class and had an absolutely fantastic experience. Paul was absolutely brilliant. patiently guiding the class as we stepped through each dish, with lots of QnA along the way. I learnt so much! Rowena Frith: We enjoyed our BBQ class so much! Really knowledgeable and flavours incredible.
Iyad Almadi: I recently had the pleasure of attending a Middle Eastern/BBQ cooking class and I must say it was an incredible experience. Chef Paul, our instructor, was a true master of his craft and his passion for cooking was palpable from the moment we walked into the kitchen. The class was well-organized and started with an introduction to Middle Eastern cuisine and BBQ techniques. Chef Paul took the time to explain the history and cultural significance of the dishes we were preparing, which added an extra layer of depth to the cooking experience. As we began to cook, Chef Paul guided us through each step, sharing tips and tricks along the way. The recipes were both traditional and innovative, with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients and spices. One of the highlights of the class was watching Chef Paul demonstrate his expertise with the grill. He showed us how to properly prepare the grill, control the temperature, and cook meat and vegetables to perfection. His attention to detail was impressive and it really made a difference in the final product. In the end, we enjoyed a delicious meal together, sharing our creations and swapping cooking stories. It was a truly unforgettable experience and one that I would highly recommend to anyone who loves Middle Eastern cuisine and BBQ.

Not only the exceptional talents of Paul a talented and seasoned chef who instructed but the whole experience- a small class, great environment and multiple skills gained ) very hands on) in shucking oysters, knowing how to prepare cook and serve scollops , squid, whole fish, accompanying salads, vegetables and the most important ingredients and where to buy them and detailed recipes distributed to each participant. We ate as we cooked and had a glass or two of wine as the 3 hours class progressed. Others there had also attended the School’s other classes and spoke very highly of them too. While the Parents tucked into an amazing Deli platter & scones the kids had an absolute ball, they have not stopped talking about it !! Elsie was amazing organising the whole event with so little effort from me, she was so organised & then she was onside making coffees for us. Jason did a fantastic Strawberry Chiffon Cake for our Birthday Cake & made the kids laugh so much during the class, all in all I can highly recommend the Sconery for any party, truly wonderful, thankyou so much.

Justin S: After reading Mr Perrett's review, I came here looking for abuse and an argument, and I received neither! Thoroughly disappointed and I hope they do better next time I visit.Besides that though, the tastiest bagels this side of New York, the crispiest and most delicious pastries and a flat white so smooth I could barely bring myself to drink it. Bravo!
Nathan Pye: If you like pies and progressive rock, then The Sconery is the place for you! Not only does Jason serve the finest steak pies this side of the equator, he also has an encyclopedic knowledge of '80s prog rock legends Marillion, which upon request can be played as an accompaniment to your lunch. So take a break and enjoy perfectly finished shortcrust pastry enclosing sumptuous chunks of steak while listening to the poetic lyrics of Fish. Just don't mention the floppy haired guy. With an offering of this quality, Jason truly is a Market Square Hero!
Robert Ching: What an amazing hidden gem! Food is bang on, good value, high quality and without the pretention. Rare that coffee is $3.50. We had a lovely birthday celebration for my wife with 60ppl. It was an absolute joy. So chilled. Everything was well looked after and stress free for us. Plenty of room for kids to run around. The savoury food was tasty perfectly cooked - everything from the good ole toastie with proscuitto and cheese (winners with the kids), to the party pies, to the salmon scones, to the empanadas etc... the sweet stuff was just as good with an amazing chiffon cake, biscuit rasberry cream thingies, profiteroles, of course off the chart classic scones, lemon tarts.. and on it goes. Everything was top notch and we had so much leftovers! This place is a must visit. Jason and Elsie are amazing hosts.
Thanutcha Lim: Just started a new job around the corner, absolutely lovely and funny staff & chef, felt so welcome. I ordered Steak Pie, mixed salad and coffee. All dishes were very tasty & very reasonably priced. The Steak Pie was the best I’ve ever had, the salad was so fresh & the coffee was smooth, mellow & deliciousThis is going to be my go-to café! The Classic Cupcake Co.: what do users think?
Lesli Doyle: Best cupcakes in town! I had organised a Mother’s Day giveaway for our real estate office and wanted to source the prizes from our local businesses. Needless to say we decided to add their product to our giveaway prize the minute we tried their delectable award winning cupcakes. Product, presentation, costumer service everything was immaculate! Only issue now is, to figure out how not to get cupcakes from their store daily as they’re located down the road from our office and their goods are highly addictive! Highly recommend!
Zhou Skylar: overpriced
Susan Kavrakoudis: Absolutely beautiful cupcakes. Amazing to look at and even better to eat. Highly recommended!
Elouise Morris: A lovely little set up with a friendly helpful teacher.

Noelene Hughes: Lots of fun, and 6 great cup cakes to bring home.Would certainly recommend the experience.

Ivy Wong: Learning to decorate cupcakes with the Classic Cupcakes Co was a great way to spend time with friends. We decorated half a dozen beautiful cupcakes to bring home - roses, sunflowers, chrysanthemums, hydrangeas, traditional swirls. My family thought they looked amazing! We had an excellent teacher, the location inside the shop was air conditioned and bright. It was very easy to do with no experience. We had a really good time. Would recommend to all my friends!

This is also a great gift option!!
Vaness Blank: This a great cooking class that I would highly recommend! Our class was cooking like a Parisian. Our instructor, Jodie was excellent, guiding us through techniques and the process of making the dishes not found in books. The skills took us through the preparation, the process of putting the dishes together, and special cooking techniques. The food was delicious! The course gave me the confidence to cook the dishes, which I have since replicated, and the results were superb! The school facilities are number one, with great high-end equipment. A great class for budding chefs, and a wonderful experience to share, as I did with my grandson. At the end of thec cooking session we all sat down to enjoy the dishes we had just cooked. Ryan McPherson: Loved VIVE! Such a fun experience. The staff made the event very enjoyable and the quality of the food was devine.
Karen McNamara: A fun and entertaining day for the Thai Street Food cooking class. Head chef Steffan was entertaining and fun, along with the lovely hostess. The food and recipes are amazing and the favours are devine. We cooked Traditional Thai Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai and Tapioca Sweet Soup. All delicious and so much food.. also so much food to even keep left overs.
L.B. Ngo: Such a great class; well organised, fantastic teacher, delicious food. Definitely recommend!

Australian Patisserie Academy: what do users think?
Emily Mosca: I love to bake and was so excited when I saw the Australian Patisserie Academy. I had my first lesson a few weeks ago and was not disappointed! Great teachers, great setup and great value for money. I learned so much in a short space of time and took home 2 boxes full of delicious gourmet donuts. I have already booked a few more classes! Can't wait.
Johnny (jman): I have a passion for desserts but it’s not something I could do full time. When I received an email from APA that Jean-Thomas Schneider was coming for masterclass demonstration I was like okay I’m in even though I’ve never heard of him. The masterclass is run over two intensive days purely just observing and tasting. The chef is very good and very experienced teaching new ways of cooking desserts. The amount of effort and time to make these desserts is time consuming but the end results to eat something creative and delicious is worth it. These classes or courses are definitely worth it for anyone that love desserts or like to self improve tricks and new methods. The class could have offered a bottle of water each day and provided light lunch before taste testing the buffet at the end. The proportions and quantity was little to feed over 20 people with small pieces which was a bit disappointing. The tools, utensils and ingredients on their online shop are well priced lower than external suppliers so definitely a plus. Looking forward to enrolling in a few more course and get into the practical side of it next time.
Jessica Mckenzie: Great teachers, really enjoyed the classes. Value for money, teacher was happy to answer my questions and spend time with individual students when needed.

The Essential Ingredient Surry Hills: what do users think?
Chloe M: As a first time customer, I am SO impressed with the care that was taken in packaging my online order and the quality of the products. I will absolutely be using the essential ingredient for all of our non-perishables from now on! Thank you so much :)
eric gaines: Love this store. Always impressed when I go there for something in particular, and always leave with a few special extra things that inspire. Staff are great, and super-helpful.
Meg Neill: Pretty disappointed to receive my order and half of it has less than 10 months expiry on the products, for things that should have years. Sent an email and was basically fobbed off about best before dates v’s used by. Either way if I’m paying for a premium product I expect it. Won’t be ordering from them again
Brook Walker: Absolutely terrible service. When asked about an item on the website and “in stock” but not in the store, rudeness ensued. When asked to check the item they did have it was exasperated sighs and harrumphing. Just avoid this store. Pointless.
Raymond Medhurst: Lots of hard to find and exotic ingredients and lots of cooking and baking hardware
Flying High: This rating is primarily for the Nose to Tail Butchery class hosted here which was excellent for those who want to get very much hands on in learning to breakdown a whole porker and then preparing different cuts, cooking and of course eating it. And you will eat plenty at this course and be rolling out of the place at the end of it. Andrew Morabito is a great teacher and the course as a whole was very well run and I would highly recommend it for anyone who has interest in learning more about what they see presented at your local butchers. So many questions were answered for me as to where the different cuts are taken and prepped. Great! The store itself is also full of great items for cooks from herbs, spices condiments and kitchen tools. I found certain food items here that I struggled to get anywhere else. You could happily browse here for quite a while. The staff are helpful and it is just a pleasure to come here. Certainly worth a visit.
Ross Marks: Good selection of food and equipment
Mark A: The only positive about this store is that it is in a great location. Otherwise, the staff is very unfriendly and rude and you will get served with some attitude if you ask any of them to find something for you. The last time I was there, I asked for a bag for some products that I had purchased and the store associate laughed at me for asking such a question. I would much rather go out of my way to go to Williams-Sonoma at Bondi Junction to get better service and higher quality products.
Taryn Gesmundo: Absolutely essential for amateur chefs and foodies!
Piotr Katolik: Awesome range of supplies. Good prices. Amazing and smiling staff. Great hygiene. Recommend for anyone looking for inspiration and great ingredients.
ned ok: Lovely products lovely staff
Andrew Seidel: Went to the seafood spectacular cooking class. Was really fun, and Wanitha our teacher was amazing!
Lyndell Garrard: Could have spent hours poking around in this shop
Rebekah A.: Visited the new site for a cocktail making class. It is in a beautiful location, and parking was not too hard. The class itself was very informative, the food that we were served was delicious, and we had a very enjoyable time! Pricing was perhaps a bit steep, but I suppose that that is Sydney for you!!
Andrew Miller: Smaller venue but still amazing products, spices and cooking accessories. Great to have in Surry Hills.
Phil Curry: Disappointed that we had to order what we wanted (chocolate) from their warehouse and come back again.
Stewart Noble: New store is great, feels more open and easier to walk around in.
Graham Lee: Nice shop. Good cooking accessories. Helpful staff.
KB: Great place
Malcolm Cameron: Smaller than Roselle, Now Closed ! 😕
Sabina Wilson: Awesome items to buy. Great quality reasonably priced. Can't wait till I visit again
