The legend goes that the tradition of serving small plates and bar snacks with wine, beer and sherry – otherwise known as ‘tapas’ – began when King Alfonso XIII The Wise was recovering from an illness by drinking wine capped with morsels of simply served food. After regaining his health, he decreed that all taverns in Spain would not be allowed to serve their patrons wine unless it was accompanied by a small snack. At Alegrias Spanish Tapas and Bar we indulge in a range of Spanish and Mediterranean dishes alongside a few glasses, ideally with a group of friends and family, and the crystal chandeliers adorning its high ceilings and hardwood features, Alegrias Spanish Tapas Bar & Restaurant will invoke images of the class of the past.

I was able to make a booking at this place last saturday. First time here and the staff told me that I was initially going to sit further in the restaurant, but given how another table booked has not arrived, they happily gave me a table at the front! The view is absolutely wonderful and the staff has continuously checked up on us to ensure we are enjoying our time and the food. Oh the food. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly. My favourite dish were the zucchini flowers. the batter was crisp and light, definitely recommended. I’m going to be coming back here time and time again.

I love Mojos! I always come here on Saturday afternoons between 4 and 6 for Happy Hour HALF PRICE delicious tapas and amazing, strong cocktails!

You get sooo much food and get so drunk, and then you get the bill and you’re like, ‘is that all?’

The Tapas are all about $7 each and all huge cocktails are $9 each during the 4-6 happy hour.

Its fun to come with a bunch of people.. there are heaps of good looking waiters to perve on and the vibe is really fresh and fun!

My fave tapas dishes include the tuna croquettes, the chorizo, the chicken sticks and the fried haloumi…..

The service from the wait staff were so attentive and amazing. They continuously checked up on us and wondered if we were happy with the food and everything else. I love the team, they all communicated so well with each other and did everything they could to help other customers in such a fluid and efficient way. the happy hour pricing for the cocktails and tapas is definitely bang for your buck! even at normal pricing, the quality does not differ. What i really enjoyed most was the music playlist, mixing a ton of classic 80s music that can both hype us up and also relax us. There are many spanish music to listen to, some absolutely energetic and rub off a positive vibe. Ive seen people just dancing to it and the staff just smiling and laughing with them! Definitely recommend and absolutely coming back

I have been to Mojos a few times now and will always keep coming back. Every visit the food, drinks and service has always been amazing. My parents were recently over from the UK and they love there tapas food., We brought them here and they was very happy with the quality of the food and extensive menu choice. The cost of food is always reasonable also.
