Sydney Language Solutions: what do users think?
Liam Stritt: Very happy student! Vivi and Julia have been tremendous teachers and I’ve been very grateful to have them as part of my language learning experience.
Jordan Math: I recently did their Beginner's Japanese 1 course here, where I had Toshiko as my teacher. The course requires no prior knowledge of Japanese, and is mostly written in romaji aside from a few excerpts in hiragana. The teacher is really nice, engages the class and frequently answered any question I had about the content and even more advanced questions. She even went over kanji, hiragana and katakana examples of words and sentences, due to the prior knowledge that some of the students had in the class. She does however go on a few tangents that can really detract from the lesson, but aside from that she's good.My main issue is the management here. Initially when I wanted to do the course earlier in the year. I asked an online operator to put me in the intensive course, since at the time I was concerned I wouldn't be able to do it in the long run. The operator "Jenny" put me in the mainstream Japanese course, which I didn't want to do. When prompted why the operator put me in there, the operator was really rude to me, when she misread my message. Another instance of bad management was when I was a getting a refund for the course I didn't want to do. Their refund policy states that it takes 10-14 working days for them to refund. I didn't get my refund until the very last day, in which I had to complain to them. The refund process was done almost immediately after I sent my complaint to them. Another bad instance was when I wanted to ask an operator if hiragana, katakana or kanji was taught. When asking an operator on the phone which type of Japanese they teach in this course, they were unable to answer the question . So I had to join a trial class just for the teacher to answer the question. While I was also there, there were technical issues that occurred where the teacher couldn't show any videos on the tv or print out any handouts at the office. Also in the textbook they give out, there are a few spelling mistakes with the romaji on some of the pages that haven't been changed since 2010.I may consider coming back here in the future, but while these issues still stand I don't see myself coming back anytime soon.
Eve Nguyen: Dr. Na Pham is extremely helpful in her instruction in my CCL Vietnamese class at Sydney Language Solutions. She is willing to go the extra miles to ensure her students are confident and fluent in CCL translation, which helps me pass CCL in my first attempt after 4 months studying. I also highly regard her enthusiasm and eagerness in engaging with her students - offering us mock test practices and multiple classes if needed. We exchange informative conversations during class time as well that makes it real fun too - highly recommend!
Vuongmy Trinh: I signed up for the weekend PTE course but got upgraded to 1-on1 due to the weekend course not having enough student. Ms. Hien, the teacher, was very friendly and helpful. I got 90/90 so I'm happy with the result!
Gian Lao: i would rate 0 stars if possiblehorribly organised and managed. changed my classes day of without proper noticei waited with 2 other students for the teacher to show up 30mins later than expectedfigured out mid lesson they changed the details without confirming with students the change.i asked just yesterday AGAIN when will classes begin and told it would be 6pm.now day of says it will be 6.30they dont even provide the teachers working resources as my tutor struggled to even write on their whiteboard w inkless markersDONT HAVE FAITH they will provide a good teaching experiencei want a FULL REFUND from these time and money wasters
Jade Luu: Enthusiastic and helpful teacher. Suitable for those who want a flexible class schedule. Should choose the unlimited package since it may take more time than you expected to pass the ccl test.
Jomel Portag: I had no idea what to study or how to prepare myself for the NAATI exam, because not a lot of the people I knew have taken it. I was glad to have made that decision to enroll in a class with Sir Rafael, at first I was nervous and anxious but after a while he was able to guide me through each lesson which helped me calm down. Sir Rafael's approach gave me the confidence and focus to keep moving forward, even if I was making mistakes. With his passion for teaching I was able to get a score of 77.5/90, a mark I would not have made without his guidance. Thank you Sir Rafael and Thank you Sydney Language Solutions.
Vân Thuý Đồng: Ms Na Pham is the most delicated tutor I have ever been with, guiding me from the very basic things to advanced translating skills. I cant believe I pass the CCL test in the first attempt. Thank you Sydney language solution team.
maja coles: Terrible correspondence. I was really eager to join a language course but after 4 weeks of chasing up emails and calling, I still have not been able to get the basic information on the course I was asking for.
Ann: Ms Hien has been a huge help on my 79+ PTE journey. Her guidance and support has assisted me to achieve my target. She offered many good tips along with constructive feedbacks to do better. Thank you again, Ms Hien!
Angelo: Highly recommended school. Teachers are awesome and ready to help each students on their difficulties. I took the test and successfully achieved my score, thanks to the precious advices. Definitely the school has been a good investment!!!
Karen Ah Choon: I strongly recommend Sydney Language Solutions. My husband tried the PTE test 3 times by himself but to no avail. With the help of the tutor Miss Phuong Hien from Sydney Language Solutions, he has been able to get the desired score points. He succeeded in his exams with all her tips and recommendations. She is a professional and a fabulous teacher. In addition, Y Le, from the Admin has done her upmost to help me organize everything. She is very keen and versatile.
Olivia Vu: I passed CCL at first attempt all thank to the dedication of Dr. Na Pham. She's extremely thorough in her teaching methods and pays upmost attention to her students' strengths and weaknesses in order to help them improve. Sh
Sara: From a teacher perspective I would not recommend this school. The internal communication is very poor and some personnel get very passive aggressive at times! When I handed in my resignation (timely matter), because I had to move out of the country, the Na Pham started accusing me for things that I did not do and got extremely hostile! I already had a hard time leaving Australia, so it was very unpleasant to have her acting out aggressively on me at the same time.Besides the craziness, my students were absolutely amazing and I loved teaching them. We build strong relationships as they grew and achieve their personal goals - very rewarding. Of course, I have references and emails to proof my statement, if ever needed :)
Margareta Alicia Hadisaputra: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMs viviverawati is an excellent teacher. Her classes are very helpful and easy to understand. i managed to get the desired score and passed indonesian naati ccl in my first try.
Eddie Lim: Critical:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueAgreed on other reviews. Na Pham, the Director of Sydney Language Solutions = unprofessional & rude.
Ahmed Mutarreb: Good school for studying languages.I have done my CCL NAATI preparation with them, and i passed, it was worth.
Kheista Leonie: I found Sydney Language Solutions when I was looking for a CCL course, and I truly recommend them. Went from not knowing anything about the exam to passing it with satisfying result on first attempt. Big thanks to SLS team and especially Ms. Vivi Verawati who guided us throughout the course with her knowledge and experiences.
Felix Husen: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueReally good lesson, professional instructors and great service. Thank you for helping me to pass my naati ccl exam. I learned a lot during the course which really helped me prepared and passed my exam.
Nguyễn Chi: I have learnt a lot during my time preparing for the CCL test. Thank you Dr Na Pham for her constructive feedback, and for being a very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and supportive teacher.
Victor Hong: This business is amazing. I took a CCL Vietnamese course (Part 1 and 2) with Dr. Na Pham. I have to say Dr. Na Pham is one of the best teachers I have had in my life. How did I know this? It was because she was willing to sacrifice her time with her family (her son) on Saturday night to teach students so that they could pass. If this did not show her dedication to her students and their CCL success, I do not know what will. I recommend buying the "Enrol until you pass" package for the CCL Vietnamese Course. Also, don't be like me in the early stages of the course where I just messed around and studied here and there. I passed after I started to take the test seriously, and studied rigorously every-week with Services Australia and recordings, and I believe you will too.

Gloria's Portuguese Tapas Restaurant: what do users think?
Etsuko Kurosawa: Absolutely the best Portuguese restaurants, seafood - prawns, cod, octopus, sardines, is the best of the best, also skewer meat is VERY delicious. HOWEVER the shop is seems like to be closed (and been closed...), I am soooo sad and hopefully the owner is reconsider to continue the business.
Sour HU: Very Portuguese restaurant
Juliano Moschetti: Just past
Junge Ma: My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary here. Amazing food and extremely friendly staff!! Personal favourites are the Pastéis de Bacalhau and the Portuguese sausage😋 There was a large group of Portuguese gentlemen having their monthly gathering here that night, making the experience even more special. We even got complimentary custard tarts from them! Such a lovely night!!
John Fowler: We had an awesome meal. Great service and fabulous food
Marcelo Schmidt: Absolutely delicious - Bacalhau all the way. Reminds me Portugal & Brazil.
Yves Belli: Very good Portuguese food, well priced and good service.
Sonja Trower: Close to home, lovely place and always busy. Staff friendly and the food is good.
Clodoaldo Prado: This was the first Portuguese restaurant I've been in Sydney (I don't believe there too many others) but I see no reason to look for another one, ok maybe to compare the prices, even though the pastel de bacalhau was delicious, we didn't like to pay 4 dollars each. The Bacalhau na Chapa was really good as it was the Camarão ao Alho, this last one a bit expensive (AUD 19) for 7 good sized prawn if you compare with the price of the Bacalhau plate (AUD 32). I was almost two years without eating bacalhau and I left the restaurant more than happy! So, despite the price, if you want some good Portuguese food and environment, I highly recommend you to visit them. Cheers!
Sean Rowlands: An authentic Portuguese gem. I hadn't been to Petersham for about 20 years and worried it may have lost some of its uniqueness as a Portuguese enclave, so we travelled halfway across Sydney to find out and were not disappointed. Absolutely loved it. Great food and service. Portion sizes were BIG. Great Portuguese wines too.
Alessandra Bié: Delicious food and good customer service.
Carlos Melo: Amazing food... Delicious
Lydia Jane: + Incredible service. The wait staff are absolutely delightful and genuinely care for their customers. Despite the heavy rain creating a wet floor at the front of the store, the waitress was happily mopping the floor and greeting customers as though it wasn't an inconvenience at all.+ The variety of tapas is amazing. Particularly the garlic prawns, potato fish cake, potatoes in aioli and the octopus. Serving sizes are generous and quick to arrive at the table.+ The interior was styled to a sea/ship theme which added to the positive experience.+ Parking in nearby streets is convenient. Walking distance to the train station.- The front of the store (entry/exit) is where heavy rain was dripping out of the air con. Whilst the waitress did an incredible job to manage the situation and mitigate the hazard's risk, I think the owners need to find a more safe and sustainable solution for patrons and staff.
Alex Williams: Fantastic Portuguese Cafe.Highly recommend Gloria's. Inviting, vibrant and laid back atmosphere to unwind, sip wine and try a selection of authentic Portuguese dishes. Service was great, food was fresh and flavourful.Highlights were the garlic prawns (they do not skimp on the garlic) the meatballs and the Chorizo which comes in an adorable mini terracotta pig burner to cook to your liking. Finally, the pastéis de nata (Portuguese Tarts) are the best you will find in NSW.We'll be back very soon!
Brenno Murdocco: Good food and good size dishes! Lovely!
micah bueno: This place offers amazing Portuguese food! Prices are reasonable and service is good! We had the grilled bacalhau (salted cod fish), stuffed squid and chorizo and they were all delicious! The pastel de nata (tart) was such a nice treat!
Raphael Leite: Best alentejana in Australia. Breath taking ❤️
Jorge Pinheiro: Great little restaurant. Friendly staff and the food is mesmerising.
SacredEarth: Food & Service...didn't disappoint, still very authentic!
Jose Magaña: Great options on a very diverse menu. All the plates we ordered were delicious.Lovely atmosphere, seating outside.Excellent service.
Sarah: Great little restaurant and very friendly. I used to go regularly when I was young as its really nice for date nights. I moved out of area and had not come back for years so took my husband and it hasn't changed a bit. They are still serving my favourite dishes the seafood rice which is seasoned really well and the Molotov dessert which I couldn't even eat this time because of the huge portion. I'm definitely coming back for that Molotov and a coffee. I've always loved their customer service towards me and bonus I took my Staffy dog too and she was welcomed with open arms.

Silvas: what do users think?
Nicole Gaynon: Worth the 1 hour drive!! I know it’s a Portuguese chicken restaurant but OH MY GOD their sizzling garlic prawns are to die for!!!
Bruno Vales: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/4More
Adrian Kinslor: This is the best of the local Portuguese restaurants for a sit down dinner. Hand sliced potatoes, charcoal roasted chicken, pork belly and lots of classic Portuguese dishes. The place is always busy for dinner. They have a takeaway counter too with very good chicken.
Samuel Sapienza: Food was very tasty
jacinto lusorider: Food: 5/3|Service: 5/3|Atmosphere: 5/3More
matt t: I like silvas, will return
Ricardo Santos: Fantastic Portuguese food served here. The restaurant has changed owners recently and the space has had face lift. The food was pretty good. We had the Bacalhau à Lagareiro and Espetada de carne, both beautifully done and super tasty. Please give this place a try if you haven’t done so already. Service was pretty good, prices can be a little above average but the quality of the ingredients is noticeable, so very much worth it.
David “Straya1969” Straya1969: The best Portuguese restaurant in Sydney by far. The Portuguese Head waiter is the best. Very hard working staff.👍🏻

João Cadete: O melhor restaurante português em Petersham! Desde que cheguei a Austrália este é o meu restaurante português favorito! Comida sempre de boa qualidade e um serviço 5 estrelas! Obrigado!
Chloe Norris: There is no restaurant in Australia where I get this same feeling. Food, service and value all consistently delivered by this lovely family team. Many hospitality businesses have a lot to learn from Silvas. We have been to Madeira island recently and the apple does not fall far from the tree. Authentic, and great experience. This restaurant is also extremely family friendly. My favourite dishes include the Espetada beef, lamb, octopus & mussels.
Hey Fam: Sub par chicken burger. Got their most expensive one the Silvas meal and got a burger with a tiny chicken fillet surrounded by white bread, cheap Mayo and lettuce tomato ..: and this whole portion of chips is old and inedible. Considering the restaurant is full…. Not even sure why their fries is this bad and not fresh. Literally had ogalo last night and that was $3 more for their jumbo meal (double chicken patty) and way better across the board. 0 stars

Centre for Continuing Education - University of Sydney: what do users think?
Zoe Adams: Wish I had read the reviews before attending… this was the worst up-skilling experience I have had. The teachers for each course were glamourised scammers, spouting harmful messages about “people from concentration camps choosing to be victims when they could have made the most out of their lives” and that the women in the class would have a hard time practising a speech that was written for men. There were also other things that came up and one of the two teachers was just completely incompetent. The fact that this is associated with the University of Sydney implies the people taking these classes are good at what they do or have some skill but after making a complaint I was told I wasn’t eligible for compensation because they flicked through the slideshow and ticked the box. Would never ever ever go here and suggest everyone save their money.
Grechka Varenaya: BEWARE - awful customer service and TERRIBLE language coursesTake great care in purchasing anything from this centre as their insane cancellation policy is 24 hrs from date of purchase. A refund was refused even in the case of a serious health situation - absolutely zero compassion, disgusting and shameful. The Italian language course that I have done in the past was also absolutely awful - the teacher spoke English very badly and generally, the course was just all over the place, she was impossible to understand and follow, could not answer questions properly, I learned almost nothing (and I generally have no problems with learning). Stay away. Go to the Italian Institute to learn Italian.
Matt Rheuben: Joe Alvaro- rudest person I have ever been involved with.
Deborah Newington: Great course content and trainer. Convenient location, and a lovely lunch included.
Sami Smith: Had the worst experience of my life here, I went there for a company funded training course for SQL and the instructor had the worst attitude. Even though i told him at beginning that i have no experience in SQL but still he singled me out in class and constantly bombard me with humiliating lines like "you are slowing down the whole class" , "your peers are miles ahead of you" and the list is long he could have just ignored me and carry on with the class but he chose to humiliate me in front of whole class, will never go there again and will not recommend this place to anyone
Anne Gordon: They cancelled a course and refused to give me a full refund. I cannot recommend the CCE.
Eamon MacDermott: Have done multiple language courses through CCE and the customer service and the courses themselves are always top notch.
Kat JD: Please do not attend training here - not worth your money. The facilitation is mediocre and is extremely unorganised with materials not available until a day before the session and the facilitator does not follow the curriculum in order, nor finishing the course off in the specified time. No follow ups, nothing. This is specifically related to Business Writing Skills Course. They blamed COVID for this but unfortunately, it got worse. The facilitator even stated that a paying member 'was not there' for the session and was absent. This was not true as the member took photos at the time of the room etc. and thankfully showed proof that she was in attendance. After all of that, one can safely say this is not an institute worth of rolling out training as they even have the audacity to go against their word when they offered me a credit for the curriculum not being completed/facilitator being unorganised and now, they are saying that this credit is no longer available and it was never agreed too. Why would one lie about this and retract on their word?My advice, CCE it is not worth your money - find a professional institute with an organised team who can properly train and have respect for teaching.
Ariane Francesca Paguia: Good courses offered to gain continuous learning! I tried two couses: Data Visualisation & Story Telling and Business Analytics course, both are 8-hour course in 1 day. The facilitators have good real life example from field, and can let you appreciate the concepts better. It can help with personal growth and career improvement. I would highly recommend these courses.
sam heaton: I mistakenly selected a different date to the course on a drop down menu , so I missed it by accident, thinking it was still in the future. Their reminders went into my junk mail. Upon discovering I contacted them and asked to log in to a future zoom course, as I never accessed the first one, which they acknowledged. They told me they would just keep $1800.00 and not offer me the chance to log in to a future one. Morally bankrupt. Well done
At Home: The service here is appalling. Go and learn somewhere else and don't bother wasting your money at this rip off dodgy company.
Juan Too: I did the course - Scaled Agile Scrum Master (SSM) through CCE, last year. I thought that the quality is as good as any professional registered training organisation (RTO) in Sydney.I have recommended CCE to my family and workmates too and they’ve taken on a few Courses themselves already. The tuition fee is very ‘reasonable - definitely affordable! Unlike the RTOs in the City of Sydney which are at least twice the cost, CCE gives a fair price for their courses. For this, to me, CCE is a champion for new work starters, job searchers and new graduates.I am trying to do more IT and Management courses with CCE, this year 2019. I was also informed by CCE that, if someone have enrolled at least 5 times with them, then that person will be eligible for further discounts to any future courses. For these reasons, I give CCE - 5 stars. More power to you CCE
Lauren Lee: I have done two Adobe courses here and i absolutely loved them! The lecturer Anthony, knows his stuff, he is really organised and is very helpful!!!- i know InDesign and Adobe XD in detail now after one lesson!Fantastic teacher, would highly recommend him !!!
Wayne Smith: Very poor customer service.
james deng: they are the worst of worst, especially the google ads word course
F. Ward: I did a beginner's German language course here and I was very disappointed. Firstly there were 20 people in the course - which is just too many for a language class. Secondly despite being advertised as a complete beginners course, most of the other students enrolled had done German before, so they completely dominated group work and had no patience with any one who was a genuine beginner. The tutor was competent enough I guess, but as others have mentioned the CCE customer service either completely rude or non-existent. Once they have your money they don't care what kind of an experience you have.
Evelyn: Excellent.
Jade Blake: I am currently studying level 3 Spanish at CCE & wouldn't recommend doing language classes here. Although my level 1 teacher, Maria was an absolute gem & an amazing teacher who I learnt so much with, going up to level 2 & now level 3, I have had a bad experience. The teachers can barely speak a word of Spanish & think that by just speaking at you in Spanish for 2.5 hours, you will learn. In level 2, I wrote to the teacher asking if she could speak a bit more in English because it's too confusing & she responded 'it's inconvenient for me to speak in English'...I have tried asking for clarification on things & the teachers just say it in different ways but still only in Spanish simply because they don't know much English. Also the class I am currently in has no reception & there is no wifi access unless you're a student enrolled in the uni- it is ridiculous that in a room where you can't even use your phone for a Spanish to English dictionary you also have a teacher talking at you in a language you don't know. An appalling service offered by CCE & they don't have any power to do anything about this when you call to complain either.
J P: I've been learning mandarin through CCE. They did such a good job with the course. I'll continue to learn next semeser
Ricky Jin: I've been learning Mandarin at CCE. It's been excellent. The teacher is awesome and the course content is very useful. I'll continue for semesters to come.
Richard Donnelly: Excellent short courses for adult learning
