Chaco Ramen: what do users think?
Khanh Truong: We ordered two Yuzu Scallop Ramen bowls. First time trying ramen soup base with sour flavour. It turns out really good and it reduces the thick, fatty flavour compared with the typical ramen soup base. The seafood is fresh. I like the charsiu too, it's on the meaty side rather than the fatty side.Well worth the wait, come early if you don't want to get into a long queue. Service could be better though, should explain or remind some specials or new items they have for the day.
Danielle Dannenberg: Delicious ramen, cool vibes with good tunes. The bowls are substantial and the veggie ramen was outstanding (totally vegan too!). Highly recommend adding the homemade chili sauce. Staff was kind, would definitely go back.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Will M: Tasty ramen in a cozy setting - the chili coriander ramen is delicious, and they have a great vegetarian option as well.Recommended dishes Chilli Coriander Ramen, Edamame …More
Godard Thibaut: It might be a bit expensive if you looking for more than a ramen, but the savours totally worth it. The yuzu scallop was delicious, and what a broth ! I'll definitely come back to try something in here. :)Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Sath Arcilla: Rude service

Thani Saenchaiban: Nice ramen and good place for dinner on winter time!Recommended dishes Chilli Coriander Ramen, Yuzu Scallop Ramen, Pork Gyoza …More
idkjusteat: Still craving their fried chicken wings! The coating sauce was amazing. The ramen was also pretty good, we enjoyed the classic chashu and the yuzu scallop special, that was quite unique. The store is pretty packed so be ready to line up as there isn’t a huge seating area available.Recommended dishes Yuzu Scallop Ramen, Karaage Chicken …More
Cassie M: Ordered the base ‘Fat Soy’ ramen. Overall, delicious and would recommend. It has a very lovely soy taste and perfect broth consistency. The base size was perfect and generous portioning, about 10% more my stomach size (as a female), but still managed to finish it.Rating it a 4/5 star and not a 5 due to a few small reasons: 1) noodles weren’t personally my favourite type, would’ve preferred a bit firmer. 2) you only get one piece of meat, but at least its sort of a thick slice. 3) a bit on the pricier end. Also note that there’s a 10% surcharge on the weekend, so mine was $22 instead of $20. 4) no available self-serve condiments. Would have liked some ginger to add, but I also didn’t check and ask if they had any to offer.Regardless of these small things, it did not detract from the overall deliciousness of the ramen and would go again.

Luna: We ordered the signature Yuzu Scallop ramen and yuzu punch - they taste good. The chicken wing karage wasn’t what we expected - it’s not Japanese style, rather westernised flavour. Overall it’s a good restaurant for people who prefer localised flavour and style, instead of authenticity.
FPV: We both had the special fish salt ramen and it was really good, 4.5/5. The service was really good too. I’d definitely like to come back and try the fat soy ramen!
Thavy Tra: It tasted so good I forgot to take a photo of the actual ramen! So nice and hearty. Limited choices on the menu. Service was really quick.Recommended dishes Fat Soy Ramen …More

Albert Tedjadiputra: A very nice Japanese ramen restaurant, serving tasty ramen.Located in the Westfield shopping centre at the food court section but they have their own place.the staff are friendly and helpful.Electronic transaction will incur an additional surcharge.
Arth Sharma: I didn’t like the place because they were not nice to me, they gave me chilled water to drink along with warm ramen on a peak winter day which caused me sour throat the very same night.
Erick T: Went here for the ramen collab. Broth was not overly salty nor thin. Just a great broth all together. Good amount of chashu on mine.Karaage is a bit overcooked for me, but still soft and juicy. Gyoza was just ok and nothing to write home about. Sukiyaki spring roll was surprisingly good though pricey. Drinks are ok though a bit on the expensive side.Service was quick and efficient.Overall, ramen is great.
Rhys Travel: We came here for their two day special event by Saga Hide-Cha. Lots of people lined up to get in for dinner. The noodle soup was indeed very delicious. Not salty.$20 each. Loved the pickles they had. Decent portion size.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More
DA-HEON KIM: My go to place to have Japanese Ramen in Sydney CBD. I recommend you to have tap beer if you're beer drinker.
Phoebe Vuong: I arrived at 2:30pm off lunch time, there were lots of empty tables but i had to wait at least 20mins to be seated, even though there are only 2 groups in front of me and there are heaps of seats at the front. Why does it take so long for them to seat just one person?I also didn’t like the attitude of the waiter, i asked to keep the menu to keep looking for another dish after I have ordered my ramen but he said no so I have to hand it back. He made me feel uncomfortable.Overall the ramen here is good. I recommend the Akamaru.
Yean Long Lai: Was being served by two idiotic chefs who were joking around in the kitchen instead of paying attention to their work. To my disbelief they have totally forgotten my order and I have been waiting for more than 30mins for a bowl of ramen on a not so busy night. Then when another staff approached me with the food, instead of apologising he simply said the order wasn’t put forward. What a complete bunch of jokers. This premise used to be good when operated by Japanese. Now it’s being made worst by some people with no interest in working there. Those good reviews here are probably given by either their own staff or caucasians who ate sandwich all day.
Veda Ng: I feel like they have the best broth in the whole Sydney. I love it, and this is my second times, will definitely come back.
Glorypearl Dy: Food was great except for the gyoza that was a bit salty. Would still come back here.Food: 5/4|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/4Recommended dishes Gyoza, Tonkotsu Ramen …More

Gumshara: what do users think?
Andrew Leung: gumshara has been good all these yearsgo for the fish stock ramen if you like fish, its delicious.great noodle bounciness, soup is super thick!they will offer to thin the soup or make it less salty.it is on the pricey side, but well worth it.Large Mega ramen is great for 2. Get a bowl of rice with it if you are extra hungry.
eat with meilisa: Not my cup of ramen. It’s a good ramen but my kind of ramen. The broth was a bit too salty. And it’s expensive compared to other shops
Edwin Choi: If you want anything fatty or heavy anytime, Gumshara's always got you.I do have to complain they dont have their charsiu rice bowl from pre renovation, was my favourite, but legendary none the lessFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Mega Ramen …More
Sharlene Khor: Seriously my favourite ramen shop ever. Flavoursome broth, nice noodle texture, soft pork and so many condiments to put in the ramen. Seriously the best! I had the black garlic tonkotsu ramen. Keep up the good work Gumshara team! Please open up in Brisbane (Sunnybank or Calamvale)!!!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Daniel Hamilton: 20 years on and still the bestFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Vincent Tsen: The default soup is too thick. Slightly less thick may be better. So I need to remember to request less thick soup next time.I loved the tomato based soup, too bad that isn't available anymore now.
R H: First time eating at this place in about 4-5 years and the prices have increased by ~75%. It’s so expensive - nearly $60 for 2 people just for ramen which is outrageous pricing and I cannot believe anyone would consistently pay that. I used to eat at this place all the time around 2012-2016 but it’s changed significantly for the worse - and they don’t have the tomato ramen anymore also. Today after eating for lunch I also felt sick to my stomach which is still ongoing into the evening and I have not been able to eat dinner and have had other side effects of sickness I believe are directly related to the ramen I had here.
Amitesh Naidu: Authentic food, where everything is made from scratch. It's a bit expensive but worth it.The thick broth may not be for everyone, so let the staff know.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Hermione Le: It is located on Eating World Food Court, Shop 211/25-29 Dixon St, Haymarket NSW 2000 so I missed few times when I was craving for ramen. I usually went to Yasaka. To be honest, both were the best ramen I have ever had. The dishes are quite pricey but it worths the try. Both me and my husband bought one large mega ramen, which included all ingredients so we could try everything. I love garlic sauce so we added it with extra $2. The dish costed totally $49.5. The broth was thick and quite salty if you ate it til the end. You can ask them to adjust the salty level. All of the meat was yummy but quite fatty. The garlic sauce was great to add in. The noodle was super good, not too hard and not too thick or thin.
Robert Zheng: Have Returned. Highly Recommended. The legend lives on - I was first introduced to this place 15 years ago, where they were known for their large fried pork chop ramen, and the soup. This is a very thick Tonkotsu - if you are not a fan of this style of ramen, you may not enjoy it, or you should ask for a watered down/light version. It's very pricey now, but it is still unique in its heavy unfiltered porky broth, deep brown and slightly fishy. Recommend adding a lot of shallot.Cash.
Gill W: Extra rich, thick tonkatsu broth. You can add extra soup to thin it out if you like, but that's part of it's charm. Noodles are nice and springy. Definitely one of the best!
John Mayers: The best ramen on the planet. Ignore the hefty price and just do it. Unbelievable ramenFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More
Shaun Chan: Extremely rich and thick ramen broth with perfectly cooked noodles! However, chashu slices were almost 100% fat. Also, this place is cash only so come prepared.
虞玺: 26dollars reman noodle only 2 slice of meat. not worth it.maybe 46 dollars better . but not for 1 ppl
Patricio Spamer: Cash only is horrible customer service. Walked all the way here for nothing.
Simon Huber: Having wanted to visit this place for nigh on years, we finally managed to come on down to Gumshara in Haymarket. I can totally understand why the little eatery in the back of a food court is considered such an institution in the Sydney ramen scene, but it truthfully blew away my expectations. From the thick, salty broth (something that can be amended with free broth thinner), mostly free to use condiments, except for extra seaweed which comes at a cost of a $1 for three generous portions. My partner and I both ordered the regular size broth and noodles, for $14.50 each, with 8 extra pieces of pork at $7 for each serving, and a soft boiled egg for $3 each. For $49 total, it can be seen as an expensive night out, but it’s honestly worth the time and money spent - even on a busy night like last night. There are certainly cheaper options available out there, but I haven’t come across another Ramen in Sydney like Gumshara before.I only wish our first time wasn’t marred by the fact that two guys next to us were feasting on a bottle of wine and other premix alcohol - but you can’t win them all.
Tom Wu: Number 1 Japanese ramen restaurant in Sydney Australia. I have tried more than 20 ramen places in Sydney and Gumshara has the best thick soup with balanced noodle. If you like ramen then you must try this store.P.S. This ramen place is actually located in a food court, so its environment is not up to standard with usual ramen place. But their ramen is so good that you will forget about the environment after your ramen is ready to eat.
Hollis Wong: One of the best ramen around. Far better than your franchise stuff. High quality noodles and darn great booth. It’s truely a little hidden gem.
Daniel Hundt: THICK! Unique bowl of noodles, not for the faint hearted but very good depth of flavour.
Roberto Zegarra: Soup is nice, but overpriced, and not accepting EFTPOS at those prices is just an scandal.
Erwin Tirta: Second time eat here. Noodle is good, the soup is thick but you can choose to thin them with extra soup available free of charge. Best eat with the tamago and pickle to refresh your palate every mouthful.Food: 5/4|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More

Parmeet Arora: Delicious ramen bowl with lots of varieties for food.I love the ramen bowl.
Ritz Bitz: The food taste is pretty decent but nothing to rave about. Our table got a couple of bowls of ramen with different soup base. We didnt notice water was available earlier but on leaving saw some bottles of watwr. Unsure if that was meant for customers to take but the service staff certainly did not inform. Otherwise, ALL of the staff were very polite and it is very comfortable to be in such a wonderful environment (not always the case in this city)!

Enyi: Fast serving. Can get busy and I felt staff wasn’t prioritizing sitting the guests down so you have empty seats and queue outside. Not much changed after recent renovation. Great stir noodle. Highly recommend chicken katsu. Its tender and served with yummy sauces. Go easy on chilli oil, it is strong here.

Наталья Ткаченко (NatalyaT): It’s a very delicious ramen! Enjoyed having lunch here’ especially with the full experience of Japanese food as well as the drink! There was a queue when we arrived but we waited for 5 minutes before we got our table. I highly recommend to check it out.
Daimond Sdm: Ramen Too salty. Table too small.Under staff.
Annie Guo: Love the ramen, and their takoyaki balls are so yummy and fresh. Quick service and they have pram space. I would definitely visit them again when I crave a nice ramen
Taki Chen: Soy ramen + tuke men are the best match for lunch and dinner.Don’t forget the ice tea lemon to fresh your mind. :) same taste and amazing food.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Soyu Ramen, Tsukemen Ramen, Homemade Pork Gyoza …More
Giovanni Paduos: Nice city restaurant to eat a good ramen . There are a few variety of noodles as well. Try it.I still don’t like the restaurant that charge credit cards surcharge.
Corey: Despite having recently returned from Japan, I couldn't help myself and needed to dive right back into Japanese cuisine. What better way to get some of the more uncommon noodle dishes at Ramen Zundo to make me a bit nostalgic again. What's funny though, is I generally don't like Japanese noodle dishes in Sydney. I think I'm a bit pretentious now when it comes to them. But Ramen Zundo was pretty solid and made a good attempt in all the dishes that I ordered. Again, things were quite alright, but I think I'm still coming off the heels of the best meals I ever had in Japan which made it hard to compare and given subjective reviews.Dishes ordered:- Tsukemen Original- Abura-Soba Spicy- Chicken Katsu Curry
slim jaydey: The food came out quick and was delicious and the staff was lovely. Very casual as well. Will be back the next time I’m in the area. Thanks so much ❤️❤️

Yasaka Ramen: what do users think?
cathy su: I had the exact same feeling when I went to their Rhodes shop so that just tells you how mediocre they are as a franchise. Their ramen in general is very underseasoned. (As in if they feed you this ramen without telling you it's yuzu ramen you honestly wouldn't be able to tell). Not my preferred type of noodles either. Also my partner's tsukemen came out very lukewarm
Michael S: HORRENDOUS!Probably one of the worst ramen I’ve had in ages. I order level 3 spicy level ramen. I was shocked to see how they just added half kilo of chili flakes just on top of the broth. No flavour whatsoever. It was so bland that I had to add more salt just to even make it edible. I raised my concern with the waitress and instead of fixing it she advised me to order a more flavours one next time. What a joke! There is no next time. I’m assuming these guys are paying a lot of influencers/local guides to put 5 star reviews on google to keep the ratings high.

C Y: Really wanted to like this place but the ramen was average at best. The sides also had way too much sauce on them to the point where it completely took away the flavours of the dish. The tsukemen was also very average. Staff were nice.

itsBee: We were seated immediately for dinner, the place is just okay. We ordered Mashi Mashi King and it was a big serving! It is good for two people. We are just not a fan of cabbage in a ramen. But overall, everything was good.

M A: Visited the newly opened Circular Quay store for lunch. Tried to scan and order new Chicken ramen listed. Whilst waiting, other peoples ramen were quickly made and served. I’ve asked the waiter how long it will take and looking at the kitchen it appears they haven’t started on it at all, however the waiter pointed 3mins (this is after almost my colleague finished halfway). After 5mins, I asked another waitress and she checked with the kitchen and handed me the menu advising they don’t have this ramen at all! It was absolutely a joke as it’s busy lunchtime and everyone had to spend time out to eat! After almost 25mins with no sight of my order, I decided to leave. I will decline to visit again, given firstly it’s expensive, 2nd the soup base is too thick and 3rd it is not any better compare to other ramen places. The location deserves a better food selection.
Joanna Gutierrez: Nice and flavorful broth and meat was very tender
Alfred Tao: Authentic and delicious ramen. With a large range of choices and also a few side dishes. Ordering is easy with QR code, you still pay after at the counter and there is a small discount of paying with cash. Food wise the ramen came out reasonably quickly and was delicious. Noodles were bouncy and the soup had a deep hearty flavour. The pork pieces melted in your mouth. One of the best ramen places in Sydney

Mia Duong: We ordered the mashi king , $46 . Portion was more than enough for 2 people . Broth is very rich of flavor , I should have selects light option rather than original as it was quite rich for me . There are a lot of meat and even extra noddle offered as part of the meal .

KAMEYA ramen bar & dining: what do users think?
Amos Lee: Lovely staff. Changed menu to Japanese city. Quite average.
Operation Dinner Out: Please bring back the ramen chef Tomo! Since he has gone and no more ramen is available at your restaurant, I was disappointed when I went for lunch last week. Although I chose to stay and eat and give the restaurant a second chance without the ramen, it just was not the same. The menu is now very similar to what you can eat at the vast majority of other Japanese or Asian restaurants in the middle of Sydney; there is no longer a point of difference. In addition, I feel the food lacks the Japanese authenticity that the ramen had before. E.g., the addition of a couple of pieces of "boiled vegetables"(they were unseasoned) to the lunch plate "bento" was strange and unpalatable, as were the lukewarm to cold limp fries squashed underneath my fried chicken. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was clearly lacking compared to the ramen.Tomo's ramen was hands down the best ramen in the Sydney CBD - far superior than any of the ramen chains, especially the chain beginning with "i". I leave two stars: one star for keeping the restaurant open, and one star to ask you to please bring back the high standard of ramen that you had previously with chef Tomo.
Rita Guan: The ramen was different from other places, I was surprised that there was onion in it. I liked the pork broth and quite enjoyed the KFC (Kameya Fried Chicken). Staff were really friendly. Nice interior. I feel that it was a little pricey though (expected due to covid).Spicy garlic ramen, kameya ramen, KFC (Kameya Fried Chicken)
Evgeny Rodygin: The taste was just ok, nothing exceptional. Not very authentic ramen, a bit too creamy and too salty. No vegetarian options
Homie: Lovely staff and some very interesting items on the menu.
Brittany: Casual Japanese ramen, soba and rice bowls - absolutely delicious. Come if you love these dishes and Chasu.
Josip Buric: Noodle heaven
Suzanne T: Excellent ramen: deliciously rich broth and tasty firm noodles. Gyoza is outstanding too!!! This place is a great little find.
Chinmay Sohoni: Had the soba noodle ramen - with no broth (it was a warm day 😁) .It was just fantastic. The noodles, the karaage chicken and the sauce everything was just amazing. Great little place for your ramen cravings.
Sergey Kroosch: Really good ramen!!!
Kristy Kum: We came in last weekend for dinner and the are pretty excellent. The staff was helpful and they have a pretty unique menu. I would go back and try the other ramen next time!!
peter bradley: I had take-away lunch here several times during November-December 2020 - at that time I would happily give them 5 stars for both the Ramen and 5 stars for the Kameya fried chicken with miso. Both wonderful - fresh and delicious. Hard to stay away!I have now found that there are new owners here and the food is very very different: having just returned to Sydney I have been back to Kameya twice in the past week for take-away lunch: the chicken was very DIFFERENT this time - completely tasteless und dull. Totally different from what the original owners served; The Pork Ramen yesterday was even worse: terrible compared to what we were eating late last year - it's not "bbq pork" as stated in the menu at all - they are serving a cheap pre-cooked pork roll sliced as thin as possible; the soup was so salty as to be inedible (poured it down the sink)and the noodles were served as a gelatinous blob - obviously pre-cooked some hours prior to serving. Very disappointing - maybe bring the original chef back? Am happy to explain in more detail if you're interested
Tim C: Good value ramen in a hidden spot
Jimmy Luo: Was so happy when we found this place. There aren't many reasonably priced Japanese restaurants around Circular Quay and the Rocks.Their ramen is solid. Before covid they used to have a more entensive lunch menu. Hopefully once things return to normal they will bring that back. It's a quaint restaurant hidden in an alleyway. You wouldn't even know you were in the middle of the city. The place is on the small side and great for catch ups with a small group.
Ethen Gamboa: Ramen was flavoursome and the karage was really tasty!
Simon Overall: Unfortunately a disappointing experience all told.Ramen is ok and just that - flavours are lacking, and the taste just isn't thee for their normal ramen.Beer wise - felt a bit odd they had no Asahi, Kirin or Sapporo, but a perfectly drinkable Orion beer from Okinawa was acceptable.Kaarage chicken was fine - unremarkable.
Robert Beecroft: Their signature Kameya ramen was amazing, very deep flavours. Service was very friendly and attentive too. Can use the Liven app here too
Robert Poon: Great ramen, great staff. Good choice for other food as well. They have a thicker soup - almost sauce like, which is quite nice.
Kaidi Zhang: Cute ramen place and friendly service
Tiffany Chan: Lovely staff and food was delicious! Really decent portions, left very fully and happy
張朝勛(Frankie): Fantastic ramen and very friendly staff. The broth is very thick and strong, perfect match with noodles! Also, try Japanese whiskey High Ball before you start your ramen.

Alan Tan: There was a queue when I visited the place. Instructions are confusing. Not sure to grab a table first or to order first. Nonetheless, managed to get hold of 2 tables quickly for my group. They have quite a variety of ramen noodle soup base. I believe there should be something available whether u are a fan of shoyu, tonkatsu or miso soup. Side dishes are quite good too. Overall experience is decent!

Toby A.: A few weeks ago I visited this place. It was a long time coming, because it's the head sister chain of my current favourite ramen restaurant, Goku ramen which is based in Glebe. So of course, at some point I had to visit here, the place where it all begun.I was delighted to see 1 person seats, which was close to the very open entrance. It's always positive to see 1 person eating areas for people who eat by themselves often like myself.I ordered the chef's special, Kushiro Shoyu Ramen, normally I go for basic ramen flavours but when you're visiting Menya you know going all out is what you're there for.The flavours of the ramen, the mix of seafood soup light soy base danced with the combination of chicken broth that was for the base of such a delicious and delightful bowl of ramen. The noodles tasted good, the soup was amazing. It was light but it wasn't heavy, but there was a flavour pow of goodness in every slurp of the broth. Just as it says, a mild and smooth taste. I definitely tasted both those important traits. If you're looking for a nearby CBD ramen spot with a vast selection of top notch ramens to choose from all in the range of regular ramen pricing, look no further than Menya. I mean really, it's right across the street 😄
Hoi Lam Luk: A lot of excellent choices on the menu, taste good, and the soup is rich. Tired Hakato Tokotsu and Yokohama tokotsu shoyu ramen. Get extra set which include small curry rice and gyoza. Everything taste nice and the environment is clean and quiet. Little bit disappointed that just see beer on the counter menu but actually realised they do have canned drinks after sitting down. Think it will be better if they have the drink menu on board.
Kalvin Lie: Decent ramen. Good solid flavours. The staff was friendly and welcoming as well. Good on a cold day. Solid 4/5 for the ramen.Food: 5/4|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More
Yuli Tjan: Went there for early dinner on a Friday night. We were surprised that it was not too busy, which was great as everywhere was jam-packed. Ordered ramen (chef's recommendation) and mini pork don for my toddler. The ramen broth (tonkotsu) is rich and yummy, the noodles however is a bit too soft for my liking. The pork don tastes great too. The indoor area is not spacious while the outdoor seating is pretty good size. It will be my go-to ramen place if I live in Sydney.
Bing Sheng Lim: Nice little noodle bar tucked away from the hustling and bustling street. Also comfortably far away from the pub nearby.Very nice broth for the ramen though the noodles can be a little firmer. But still good enough for me.Arrived at 7pm. No wait for the table.
Walt N: Haven't been back for a long time and the quality is still as good as before. Tonkotsu was nicely made and the gyoza are well fried! Good qualityService is good too, self serve water though.
CY Z: Food: 5/4|Service: 5/3|Atmosphere: 5/3More
S D: Food was not bad. The price was quite good considering we were in the city, especially considering the fact that a meal was only $6 more and included three pieces of karage chicken and a mini bowl.I would consider coming again, mainly for the value of the extras. The taste of the food was alright.
matt bowers: Some of the best ramen I’ve had!

You can help yourself with ordering food from Ipad. Staff will bring your order to table. Unagi Taster was a bit salty for me. Tokyo Ramen was delicious. The noodles were cooked perfectly. Staff very Friendly, fast service and good food.

Google Reviewer Super: The ramen I ordered was extremely salty. The service was the worst I have ever encountered in any Japanese restaurant. The manager was very rude and not accommodating. I didn’t get why there is a queue for it. There were empty tables inside but still just let people lining up outside.
Julie O’Brien: Good service. Fresh produce. Always consistently good. A favourite.
Christensen Enriquez: Best ramen!
Alex Chen: Average, mediocre ramen - not terrible, but not particularly flavourful.
Pia Kehal: Small but quickly moving queue. The iPads are easy to order from, and food comes very quickly despite how busy it was. The gyoza are hot, fresh, and tasty! Had the tonkatsu set which was a great value size portion, I especially liked the pickles on the side. Miso soup was perfectly hot and flavourful. My friend loved the chashu ramen. Will definitely be back.
Yang Yang: Wish I could give 0 star here rather 1.Ridiculous and rude service, worst Japanese restaurant in Sydney. Kept telling 5 minutes wait and turned out to be more than 30 minutes. Worst of all, led my family to a small table, totally forgot we told them several times that we need a table for 5 people and asked us out to wait outside again!
Brandon Wu: Great ramen place with a variety of choices and types of ramen. Recommend the Tonkotsu Shoyu and the Karaage ramen. The Tonkotsu is very rich and creamy.

Gaku Robata Grill: what do users think?
Susan Sohn: Gaku Robata Grill is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Australia's culinary scene. From the moment we stepped foot inside, we were enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The attentive staff catered to our party of six with grace and expertise, ensuring every detail was flawlessly executed. The menu showcased an exquisite array of traditional Japanese flavours fused with contemporary twists. Each meticulously crafted dish, from the succulent robata-grilled meats to the delicate sashimi which was a highlight for us. The only real surprise we had was the tongue. We normally like tongue but weren't prepared for the way it was served on this occassion. That being said, for the most part, the flavours danced on our taste buds, leaving us craving more. Gaku Robata Grill is a celebration of culinary mastery that left an indelible mark on my son's 22nd birthday festivities.
Amir: Ramen is definitely overhyped and overpriced for what it is
Peter Chan: Gali Robats Grill offers a delightful ramen experience that combines traditional flavours with a modern twist. Their best ramen showcase a harmonious blend of rich broth, perfectly cooked and the noodles have a delightful texture creating a symphony of tastes. Definitely coming back again. Thank you

Hayley Zhu: I’ve always loved Gaku, have been here a number of times. It’s great to have the a la carte menu back, only it’s better than before. The dishes look the same on the menu but all are slightly different from previous. The presentation and the flavours are elevated with a unique Gaku twist. We had a great night, fantastic service, amazing food and lots of laughs.Must visit before the a la carte menu disappears again :)Pictured dish is the special. Menu favourite is the beef tongue.

Vanel T: We tried the today special - soft shell crab ramen, and surely wasn’t disappointed. The broth was full of crustacean flavor, was well balanced and perfect in every way. Haru San’s ramen (specially aged) gave the noodles a good bite which cannot be found elsewhere. All in all, I am very pleased that ramen is now available for lunch and I hope this will become a permanent feature going forward.
William: Overhyped, forgettable, and pricey - not worth the line at lunchtime.
Veronica Dantes (Veronica): I went here on a Friday lunch and this is my first time so I can't exactly give it a 5 star YET,but I was so excited to taste the crab soft shell ramen and it was worth the travel from the west going to Darlinghurst. One thing tho, is the size of the place, a bit small. It just so happens that I came in with a pram, but the lady who helped me with my pram had the initiative to help me with it without even asking. That's a plus plus.I will definitely recommend it, and I'm coming back soon!
Richard Green: Been a while Gaku is back with lunch time Ramen here for a limited period - May 2023
Weni Bun: Beautiful experience with great sake selection, friendly staff and great food !! Absolutely recommended
HL 1987: Incredible dining experience - highly recommended!!! A+++++++Food was very well presented and everything was absolutely delicious. Lovely service. One of my favourite Omakase in Sydney!
Bloody Dragon: Very nice plating for Omakase! The food overall is very nice! Lots of super delicate flavours… Spammer crab truffle sauce! Black garlic crust! Dry aged duck-the skin is super delicious! A5 Wagyu simply melted in the mouth! For general Omakase dining, the pace of serving food is a little bit rush as I’m a slow eater whom like to take photo and enjoy each dish in a slow pace and have discussion of each courses with friends. But we were actually in rush to get to the next place so actually worked out perfect for the night. 😂
David Boyd: Gaku has been through a few different iterations over the last several years, and has just recently unveiled its latest: an omakase menu in the evenings for $190 pp, and an unagi (grilled eel) menu ranging from $36~$55 at lunchtime. I haven't tried the omakase (yet!), but went for the unagi lunch today. It was, quite simply, excellent.Let me preface this by pointing out that unagi in Japan is quite different to what you get at most Japanese restaurants in Australia. In Japan, the eel is grilled over hot coals ("kabayaki" style) and glazed with a mixture of soy sauce sweetened with sake and mirin, resulting in a delicate but slightly firm flesh and a lovely smokey flavour from the coals. In Australia, most unagi served in restaurants is an imported product that has been frozen, and has lost its texture – it is all too often soft, drowning in a sugary soy sauce glaze that is too thick, and has none of the smokiness of the charcoal. The unagi at Gaku, on the other hand, is freshly prepared and grilled on the robata, so you have the right texture, a glaze that is not overpowering, and the smokiness. And it's done very, very well.We opted for the mid-size deluxe unajū (eel on a bed of rice plus a clear 'osuimono' soup) for $36, which was a decent sized portion in it's own right, but we also added a chawan-mushi set for an additional $30. It was a wise decision. The chawan-mushi was delicate and savoury, as it should be, with spanner crab and an unusual addition of truffle sauce that worked beautifully; it was also accompanied by a few small side dishes of vegetables, vinegared octopus and pickles.Paired with a good sake (I had an unpasteurised junmai-ginjō), the unagi and side dishes were a perfect match. Without a doubt, this was the best grilled eel I have had outside Japan. I was thoroughly impressed. There's no escaping the fact that this is not a cheap meal, but unagi in Japan is not a cheap meal either. I thought the price was on par with what I would normally pay for the same quality in Tokyo, which makes this excellent value. If you want an authentic taste of Japan, particularly on a hot summer's day, do yourself a favour and try this out.
PA de P: The scampi were ridiculous and the rame Was actually spectacular 😍
D R: GO HERE! Epic food. Beautiful setting. Amazing staff. Chef Haru is 10/10 and the food was soooo so good 😊
i Michaelmikey: Went here to try Kaiseki style. The plating was very elegant, a few dishes contains premium and overall flavour was good. A great place if you want to impress your partner / enjoy japanese Kaiseki style. I would recommend to try Gaku Kaiseki at least once.

Nat: Some of the best ramen in Sydney. Recently went back again and I feel like the line got even longer even for a weekday. It took us about 1 hr to get inside on a rainy and cold Tuesday night. I think the queue moving really depends on whether patrons are eating slow or quick! As for the ramen, very delicious broth accompanied by perfectly cooked noodles. The gyoza was pretty good, I liked the filling but the wrapper was a bit oily and thin for my liking. The karage chicken however was excellent and a must order. Overall, it's definitely a 4 to 5 stars (fluctuates depending on how your queuing experience goes) but the food is very affordable. We spent $50 between two with 2 side dishes, 2 ramen and 2 drinks.Warning spicy ramen is quite spicy! More spicy than usual Japanese fare.Kid-friendliness: They have a kid friendly menu and the restaunt has a homey vibe.
Nays: Great ramen, good menu options. 9/10I tried a lot of sides (karaage, gyoza, extra pork), and while some were a little expensive, they were quite good. Only average side was the pork bun.Had the miso ramen, strong miso flavours, but well balanced, and lots of great toppings. Staff were friendly and hospitable.Overall, a really good experience!

Vivi Han: Authentic Japanese restaurant with great options. I recommend the pork and fish broth ramen. The small size of the restaurant makes it feel more authentic and traditional, though this means there will usually be a long line outside. Definitely worth the visit.
LT: Very good 👍 atmosphere is quaint and cosy.
Dean Fellner: Went here this weekend! There was a long queue outside however the line went very fast! They were very quick with the service. I do feel that it made the eating experience feel a bit rushed. They should have a bigger restaurant in my opinion. However, the ramen was very delicious!! Definetly recommend trying this ramen out however try go at off peak times.

Erick T: Overall food is good. The gyoza is quite good and has a crunchy base. Chicken karaage is crumbed and cooked perfectly.I had the #2 pork tonkotsu. The broth is really good and not overly salty personally. Very drinkable. Unfortunately that's the only good thing. Egg is a bit overcooked and the pork pieces are a tad small. Not a fan of the noodle as well.Luckily we got seated immediately just after opening, but do note there can be a wait. I estimate around 15 minutes. Kudos to the owner for not having holiday surcharge as well.
