ROSHAN W: Very disappointing experience for my 40th birthday, after months of planning and organising transport and hotels I thought this would be an ideal place for dinner as the banquet menu is $60pp. What the manager failed to tell me that they would hit me up for the bill to be paid in one full amount on the night. They even asked my guests to settle the bill for the whole table when two of them tried to leave. While the food and entertainment was great this spoiled my night as I was not prepared for a $900 bill. Next time you should let people know this is a requirement and give them the option to prepay. It's also not hard in this day and age to let people tap their card.
Jessica: Excellent food and even better atmosphere! Can't wait to come here again 😄Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Ruben Cabrera: Best food ever
CJ Fentiman: Best Spanish restaurant in Glebe. And their portions are generously sized unlike some others in the area.
Alix Murray: a lovely, cosy restaurant to go to on a freezing sunday night! the host was lovely, and gave us some great recommendations (we loved the pipis!). unfortunately i’m not able to drink at the moment, but the wine and cocktail list looked fantastic, with lots to choose from! very good value so will definitely be back!Recommended dishes Lamb Skewers, Gambas Al Ajillo, Meat Balls …More

Misty Avalon: This place has gone downhill so badly. Each dish that came out was for 4 people not 5. Each time I explained finally they got annoyed with me for asking for food we had paid for.I am not going to even discuss the paella disaster. We were told to pick seafood. Or chicken. And to sit with someone who wanted the same. Nope they just brought out half and halfGood value for the 10.00 sangria package

Mick Smith: Staff are friendly, service was great. The price for the amount of food especially the $50pp deal is great. However, food ain’t so tasty.

Carolina Mirabella: Excellent food, wonderful staff and environment. Flamenco dance on Fridays. Perfect Sangria. Kids menu 💙Vegetarian options: There's a vegetarian paella option.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available. The kids loved the flamenco presentation. Happy to bring my family.
Linda Scocca: We had a wonderful family birthday lunch here on a Sunday. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The thing I love about Spanish food and Tapas is that it is perfect for a group booking. We didn’t have to stick to a set menu because we were more than 10 people but we still did order for the table. It was terrific. The food was delicious as well.

annika: I’ve never been but my parents go on date night here sometimes and always have a good time and my dad loves it
Gahyun Kim: 보통정도? 엄청 맛있는 타파스는 아니었다.뷔페는 튀긴음식이 너무많아 배가 빨리 부른 느낌.
Prerana Magar: Everything was nice, especially the food . We goona come again☺️ thank you for your service.
Juan Lopez: First time eating at Alegrias and i have to say it comes very close to the dishes i have eaten in spain, especially the paella de marisco, the best part about any paella is the caramelised base that you have to scrape off the bottom of the pan (socarrat). The ham croquets actually had ham inside of them, thats a bonus cause that is a rare sight, but they could have been a bit creamier, the chorizo was nice although i had never tasted it like that before, calamari was decent. The bravas which are supposed to be spicy were not,but then again i like spicy so for someone that doesn't like spice they may well be so for me they were just ok.Staff was great from the moment we walked in.I would recommend and i would return any time
Erina: A nice restaurant with flamenco dancers on Friday nights was a great touch..Great music , good atmosphere and the staff were fantastic. Especially the waitresses - they were so very nice, very attentive, friendly, humble and efficient.Food: 5/4|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Leon Booth: Food was decent, but expensive. They added a calamari onto our order, but we thought it was an honest mistake and decided not to make a fuss. After we recieved the bill, we asked if we could split it. The restaurant kindly offered to do so, but slyly added a $70 bottle of wine onto the total bill before splitting it (I'm guessing they thought we wouldn't notice the higher total when they split the cost per person). They also 'forgot' to take a $27 meal off the total that had just been paid for separately.Any of these things on their own could easily be an honest mistake, but all three made me suspect they were just trying to get more money out of us because we had had a few drinks.
Lyn Tran: Amazinggggg!!
Bree Foster: A great dining experience! The service was excellent & the staff were very attentive. The atmosphere was warm & friendly. The food was authentic & fresh. Highly recommended!
Samson Cheung: A bit too noisy making talking difficult. But food and service are 5* plus !Dietary restrictions: Very specific about both Gluten and Lactose free options. A definite plus.
Emily B: Authentic Spanish food, highly recommend the Paella here! It is as close to authentic paella you can get in Spain. Lovely relaxed environment, friendly Spanish staff who like to speak in Spanish too! Really lovely experience.
Money Milkshakes: Don’t waste your time or money. The paella is burnt and stuck to the bottom. When I asked why, the manager said it is supposed to be. Until I told him I’m Spanish and that’s NOT how it is. He offered me a 10% discount, then explained they had a new chef. Disgusting behaviour. Insulting. Never going here again
Dan Duncan: 21st April 2023 - Such a fantastic night of food and fun. Walking into the restaurant and there was some Flamenco dancing being performed just prior to our seating with another performance later on in the evening that permitted some interaction with the crowd. The food was delicious with a wide selection of Spanish Specialty dishes. Every single staff member encountered was so pleasant and accommodating for our large group we had here on this evening.
fred f: Warm service, great food and excellent entertainment .
Gianluca Comandini: We had the worst paella ever and even the rest in the set menu was really poor never again
geoff bowen: The $49PP Tapas was excellent. The new dishes including Paella Tapa and Spanish Omelet were great new tastes. The chicken wings and calamari are my favourites....We found a great value discounted Tempranillo Red that was the perfect wine for the food
Rob Peseta: Recently happened upon this venue as part of a friend’s birthday celebration dinner.Without exception the food and service was simply outstanding. The venue has a nice ambience to it and chatting amongst the group was easy and comfortable.Great value, highest recommendation! The paella was divine!!
Ksenia Cunico: What a wonderful experience we had at Alegrias. This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool and the staff are really friendly but most of all fun. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is pretty good, some great Spanish classics and some twists, and for their prices it’s 100% worth it. We had a large group of 10 and they went above and beyond for a family members birthday, bringing out our cake on a stand, gave us candles and put on a Spanish birthday song and came out together singing. Made everyone so happy. Sangria is authentic and refreshing, we couldn’t get enough! Looking forward to coming back.

Matthew Henning: Trying to find a restaurant that gives service rable side rather than having to order and prepay. I realize this is most likely due to staff shortages because of covid 19. But there are travelers that are accustomed to service especially at our home countries. Food was done nicely especially the starter courses. They only complaint that started things downhill was being pushed. Due to the restaurant closing at 9pm. We arrived at 8pm. We ordered main courses at the same time we ordered our starters. All good so far. When the mains came out my wife's main and vegetable side came out. My main was nowhere to be found. I was immediately asked if I wanted to order. Presumably dessert. I said no thank you and asked about my meal. Approximately 7 minutes later it arrived. Again I was asked to order any more foods now because the kitchen closes at 9pm. I was getting annoyed at this point. My main was disappointing due to the overall plate. The vegetable sides were old and over done. Baby peeled carrots with tops were so over done and old. Side order of two I am guessing as some type of fingerling potatoes were cold and grey. The lamb was was enjoyable as the meat was cooked to a nice mid rare. As a traveler, there are times when visitors are spending hundreds of dollars, attention to detail is very much needed. This main dish for me was what was left over vegetable with a nice piece of meat. Server did a fine job until the pushing began. Not his fault. He is doing what he is instructed to do.
John Yatman: Great night out with the wife, great service and amazing food. Highly recommend, will be back .
David Garcia: The food is bad. The croquetas del día 7aud each and they're the size of my pinky, tasteful bite though. We ordered jamón de bellota and it's borderline scam, bad quality with dry parts. The pulpo a la gallega I'm not sure what it's supposed to be floating on, tiny potatoes and a few tips of the legs. Chorizo a la sidra was dry and bad quality chorizo, very similar to the one you can buy in woollies. The roasted cauliflower was nice. Overall very overpriced for what you get both quantity and quality wise. The beer is good. The place has a nice half covered outdoor terrace which is nice too.
Eliza Maria Mihaila: The food was good, but the wine, man, you can get a muuuuch better wine at $92 aka 10 euros. The "cheap" wine is really cheap!!Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More
Prabhjot: Been here a few times over the years and it never disappoints. Consistently great food, drinks and service each time. Extensive wine list and staff are very happy to assist with suggesting wine and food pairings.Recommended dishes Jamon Iberico, Grilled Octopus, Fried Potatoes, Marinated Olives, Jamon, Pan Con Tomate …More
melody chen: Astonishingly disappointed for the service.Plus, unfriendly to people dont understand Spanish. The menu is updated recently with 80% Spanish (really confusing especially when the waiter dont explain much)We dont have much experience to Spanish food but wondering to have a try on my birthday. However, the Asian middle-aged waiter with glasses was being rude all the time.He kept the annoying arrogant attitude started when we asked for water.‘’please let me repeat here” with his impatient tune, we could even see he slightly rolled eyes. The vibe was great and most seats already full when we arrived. We thought the waiter cannot hear us in the beginning but turned out simply rude.Food is at medium level, flank steak is abit old to chew, Pescado del Diaa souce tastes better than fish. Moreover, I ordered dessert but no birthday words on the plate or any words from the waiter (I know the system would highlight since the reception lady confirmed its my birthday booking)We absolutely would not come again.
Stephane Tran: The service was amazing! Steven looked after us well. While some recommendations didn't quite hit the mark, we enjoyed most dishes, especially the lamb shank and the bunuelo 👌. Would gladly come again.Food: 5/4|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More
Andrew Panigyrakis: Excellent Tapas and Sangria. Stephen did a great job recommending courses and looked after us very well. Great evening and we’ll be returning. Thanks Stephen.
Penny Whitfield: Fabulous meal and really lovely staff. We went for dinner with friends and had a great evening. The staff were very friendly, welcoming helpful and attentive and the food was delicious. It wasn’t cheap but, given the quality of the dishes and overall experience, it was money well spent.

Casa Asturiana Restaurant: what do users think?
Erin Rowe: Definitely a place to visit! Can't recommend highly enough, such delicious food that came out at lightning speed.Attentive and friendly staff and a great atmosphere, Spanish Tapas at its best, had such a great time here will be back for sure.
Niven Brown: We really wanted to go but it was closed. Rang their number and the answerphone message said it was permanently closed.
Supra Chan: My second favourite Spanish restaurant in Sydney!
John Merchan: The taste of Spain has been here for over 50 years. My parents regularly visited the restaurant on a regular basis when I was a kid, and now, I continue to enjoy the food and the friendly staff.Definitely a place to go for a delicious paella or patatas bravas.
Raycher Lim: Good pretty good the only thing is all the fried food are not crispy somehow. Alcohol is reasonable price, cosy ambience with Spain music, waitress doesn’t seem to understand English much but is friendly. The chicken skewer and meat ball is great!
PAOLA CAMACHO: I went with my partner and really! what a disappointment of the place, first they did not give us water all night, we ordered a wine and then we made the food order to the person who brought the wine, apparently she forgot to put it in the system and after 45 minutes waiting we had to ask to the waiters if the food arrived so no one knows what was our order, apparently the manager took our order and forgot then it took half an hour more, we tried to be patient and ordered a sangria that we could not drink its taste was horrible and poor fruit, the food was not bad but not incredible either. In the end when we asked for the bill after no one apologized we had a surcharge on Monday!!! I do not understand what the surcharge was.Anyway completely disappointed with this place.
Agustina Emilia Del Castillo Mosti: Authentic Spanish cuisine
Shicool Yasmin: Great food, and the best sangria in Sydney. They've increased their pricing due to inflation, regardless their food is good.
Canberra Matt: Disappearing Paella trick! Muy delicioso!!
Saki: Food was really nice, especially seafood soup and paella. Reasonable prices and a wide range of menus! Only the negative side was one particular waitress, she was very rude and didn't understand what we asked. Other waitresses were very friendly and accommodating though.
Harry S: A classic. The sole remaining Spanish Restaurant in what used to be a distinct presinct of Spanish cuisine. The fare remains rustic and tasty. The portions are generous and the Sangria almost too easy to drink. The service is friendly, efficient and unrushed.
Eca Vracevic: Friendly staff, food excellent, paella 🥘 the best I ever have, 10/10
Matt Fitzgibbon: Fantastic restaurant. Authentic food. Friendly staff and the best sangria. If you're in the CBD then this place is a must
yadush bose: Top Spanish Tapas restaurant in the CBD of Sydney. Friendly staff, great service and delicious food. Must visit if in Sydney CBD. The ambience has a very Spanish home kind of feel.
UltimatEve: 我非常喜歡的西班牙餐酒館 羊肩非常美味
Dhraagana: Do yourself a favour and if you’re after spanish food go elsewhere!! Sangria more of colour water with floating pieces of apple and orange. Ordered seafood paella. Unpeeled, uncracked shellfish, dry rice dish. So very disappointing. Service was ‘dump the stuff on the table and run’ kind of service. Used to go to this place many years ago when it actually was a nice spanish place, full of positive energy, good food, good service and every time left you wanting to come back for more! Well, that does not exist anymore at this place! Sadly!
Penny: The food here was absolutely on point. I have spent a fair bit of time in Spain and the food here is the best I have had outside of Spain. Really authentic and great menu. The tapas range is great and the flavours are fantastic. The Spanish omlette was amazing as were the garlic prawns and the grilled octopus. Will be back that's for sure. Gracias!Vegetarian options: A few delicious options.Wheelchair accessibility: Bathrooms are upstairs :(
Alex Schroder VETPrep Australia: Very mixed feelings about this placeI was pretty excited for a Spanish meal on the first night of my business trip to Sydney and with Casa Asturiana a mere 100m from my hotel, it was an easy choice. The grilled baby octopus was neither bad nor amazing, but it was pleasant all the same. When my medium-rare steak was served medium-to-well done I politely asked for the steak to be cooked as ordered, and that was where the fun and games started! 20 minutes later I was still waiting for the steak to arrive and a further 8 minutes later I asked for the steak to be cancelled and for my bill. "Its coming out right now" I was told but after chatting to the kitchen the woman decided to bring me the bill instead of my steak.Which was all fair and well, apart from the un-served steak appearing on my bill. When I queried this I was told that I had in fact ordered the steak twice and it was not their fault that I didn't want to wait any longer for the steak to be cooked and served.Bearing in mind that the place wasn't very busy (it was a Monday night) how long can it possibly take to cook a steak for 6 minutes??? And then to try and charge me for a steak that was firstly overcooked, and then not cooked or served at all?I know this is Sydney and restaurant prices are constantly increasing, and I would have had no objection to paying $35 for a steak served with fried and a simple garden salad, but come on! trying to charge for the kitchen's stuff ups? Absurd! It's a shame that Casa Asturiana treats their customers in this fashion; the aromas from the other tables sure was enticing, but perhaps this (relatively expensively) restaurant is no more than a tourist trap.Perhaps tomorrow night I'll find a place near my hotel to have a medium-rare steak but it will obviously NOT be this joint!
Jesse X: Food was very tasty and high quality. You can tell the chef is skilled and loves their cooking. The food portions were small for the pricing but I think the experienced Spanish cuisine connoisseur behind it has to factor into it.
Anna Lukash: Nice place with a super service, but not too cozy, miss music and light is too bright for an evening
Walter Barbiconi: The service and the food was absolutely fantastic the food arrived quickly

Charlotte Lantai: I had my 40th birthday party at Lola Cocina in Crows Nest in early May. It was a great choice - I love the homely environment and music in this place and the separate eating areas, which make it ideal for hosting a special event! Rita was so helpful and accomodating, meeting me and my partner beforehand to talk about how we would like the event to be set up, what food we wanted and on the day, a large table was put together with a white tablecloth and it was nicely decorated. All the food was delicious, the waiters were lovely and Rita kindly made modifications to the menu for some of the guests (including me) who had dietary requirements with no fuss at all. I chose the $69 banquet menu for my 13 guests, which was good because you got a nice variety of food for everyone to enjoy! Also, we ordered a few jugs of traditional sangria - a must have!! Rita kindly let us stay till the restaurant closed, which was so generous - it was one of the best nights I’ve ever had and one of my best birthdays!!! Thank you, Lola Cocina!
Dan: Meat in one of the Paela was overcooked & dry. But aside from that, can't complainFood: 5/4|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Mia Hubber: Slow service and confused staff. Took an hour to receive our order with no communication from staff as to why it was taking so long seeing as there were only a handful of customers. They kept having to check what we ordered and when the food arrived it was unpalatable.Warning: Do not order Paella Arroz Negra. It is tasteless mush and despite advertising it to be filled with “black pudding, calamari, chorizo, king prawns and fresh seafood” we could not distinguish any of those foods from the black amorphous blob that was presented to us.I’m sure other menu items would be better but I don’t want to take the risk. Will not be going back.
D X: Not bad, but not great! Most of the food portions are very small!
Jessica Zhang: It was a birthday dinner for my mum, I made the comment in my online booking, after the whole experience, I’m not too sure why do you care to know what was the customer’s occasion for dinning at yours! There was not a single waitress/waiter in the whole restaurant with a smiling face (yes I looked around and checked how others were doing, looked pretty miserable) you don't feel the enthusiasm that you should have in a Spanish restaurant at all! No one asked us how was the food and how was our experience etc. like other proper restaurants would do. (I think their service is the biggest problem)$10 for a bottle of sparking water (not branded) and $5 for a bottle of steel - cannot be refilled. They don’t tell you that water are gonna cost you these days! And of course I could have asked for tap if I was informed. I commented at payment, the lady at the counter said oh that’s is very normal. Not too sure if the way she responded to me was how I would expected, but don’t you have the obligation to let your customer know at the start when you ask steel or sparkling? Even the Fish Bowl at crows nest have steel and sparking water tap at counter free of charge.Food was ordinary in general, a few had good comments from my sister who never really had Spanish food before, so that’s where the two starts went...Will not recommend if you are after good service and a Spanish place with good atmosphere. We will go back to Encasa from now on.
Keen L: Recommended dishes Paella MixtaMore
dhruv sharma: Such a nice place with beautiful food and lovely people. Our favourites were the tiger prawns in a smoked creamy sauce & the patata bravas. The sangria was great too. Great atmosphere, and we look forward to coming back soon with friendsVegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. The Mediterranean salad was a great portion size and very tastyKid-friendliness: Great atmosphere for children too
Maulik Chheda: Me and my friend had gone for lunch on a Friday. There is a free 2 hour parking just around the corner near woollies, so no hassle around that. The warm welcome, and friendly customer service was definitely a good starter for us. We ordered paella mixta and patatas bravus. They were quick, well plated and served at right temperature. The flavours were perfect and it was very delicious. The quantity was also hearty, could easily be enough for 3-4 people. Overall, a great experience and would definitely recommend for individuals and all types of groups.

Michael Foster: Amazing food! Loved the sangria too. 😁
Robbie Purcell: Great little bar in what's becoming a solid food precinct on Stanley St. Friendly staff, great music but good damn that squid is the bomb. Worth going for five plates of that. Really reasonably priced and good selection.
Foo Fighter: This casual restaurant is awesome. The food and ambience really gives you a taste of Spain. The staff were lovely to deal with. My wife and I will definitely return. Highly recommended.
Raymond Kool: A vibrant, interesting and very friendly tapas bar.The food served was prepared well and served delicious and hot.The cocktails were well made.Really enjoyed the obliging and friendly staff.Very reasonable pricing.
Aoife Ann: Feel like you're in Spain in Sydney. Great staff, great food and great vibe. Thank you for a perfect experience.
Borja Del Pozo Cruz: Si we went there a group of us and it was highly disappointing! I am from Spain myself and this is definitely not a Spanish topical bar. To start with, staff were unfriendly. Food was expensive and very average. So, if you want to taste real Spanish food AND in a typical Spanish environment go somewhere else. Seriously.
Bruno Jimenez: Great food!
D: Very genuine
Neill Horsman: Great little intimate spot.Friendly passionate staff severing up amazing food drinks.Try the stuffed peppers!!
Pablo Lledo: If you want the experience of a good tapas bar, this is the one. This bar would be a very good one if it were in Spain. Here in Sydney, the best I tired so far. It's not the typical restaurant with an endless low quality menu, they have a modest menu which is more than enough, but you know everything they serve is top quality and excellent flavours. The service is excellent, always smiling and fast. The price is very reasonable, I would say cheap for the quality you get.
Michael Harvey: My wife and I went last night looking forward to a nice Spanish feed. The music was SO loud that we left after 2 minutes without ordering anything. Is this place meant to be a restaurant or a nightclub??

Boque by Tapavino Darling Square: what do users think?
Eugenia Murua: Nice food, sometimes short of staff so be patience.
Robert Ashley: Reasonably priced and high quality food. Attentive staff and a lively atmosphere. Focus on the hanger steak, tostada and jamon with sourdough.
Frances W: Overall, not recommend. Utterly disappointed. In the very first is Hoping Boque’s hygiene standard will not become a ripple effect and bring down the industry. And industries! We still want to be abled to feel safe to eat outside, go outside!Surprisingly no customer facing staff wearing mask , nor in the open kitchen except perhaps the bartender…. (Maybe is the grey area?) Unlikely following the nsw business rule either. And staff actually said it Is not required…!?! hanging the mask under the jaw, really?! After over 1.5yr still don’t know how to wear mask and how Covid works?! U r in the food industry! Already affecting the appetite with such hygiene control! The rest? Never mind.Food Portion is small, pricy. And really not that up to standard.8 dishes ordered but nothing to mention except The anchovies diving inside the olive oil with acidic taste (like lemon) really remaind us for having the fish oil tablet that give u a mouth full of and fill with fishy+ fishy taste for the rest of the day when u r a kid.The pawns are ok compare with the rest. I guess it even make it more spectacular when other dishes are so bad while it’s actually overly oily. And a presentation like this, pretty well said …The jar of Sangria filled with 90% ice cube and the glasses u get also comes with ice cube filled 60%. We are drinking water when u refill from your jar..
Kara Lackmann: Amazingly tasty, took me back to my travels in Spain a culinary getaway, if you like. The usual suspects on the menu, patatas bravas and croquettes with a delicious sangria...yum yum. Will be back.
Meghan Kemp: Noice!
Neena Nguyen: I came by this place earlier in Feb this year and was left with such a sour taste in my mouth from on person working that I just left without bothering to order what I came for. I had Boque saved on my places-to-go to try their fresh churros for months now, and when I arrived the man who seemed to be the manager or person in charge was extremely short with me and extremely rude.I was lingering around the restaurant since I wasn't 100% sure where to go up to the counter. Since I looked very lost the person in charge walked straight up to me while they were in the middle of serving a table order and asked "What are you looking for? What do you want." Bluntly. It was so unfriendly and impatient that I was taken aback and slowly started to ask if the churros they made were Vegan, since my sister who with me was vegan (I would have ordered them irregardless for myself). He quickly quipped out a disgusted "No. They're not." and immediately turned on his tail to walk away from me.This interaction lasted less than a minute but I felt so disrespected and upset that I couldn't bring myself to give this business ANY money. Fresh churros are hard to come by so it's even more disappointing.I can't say anything about the food there or any of the OTHER staff members, but this one man had left such an upsetting and sad impact on me that it almost ruined my Sunday/only day off with my sisters. We all remarked "that guy was so rude .." as we walked away and needless to say. I won't be back.Oh and the restaurant had 2-4 people seated at most.
Wendy Scott: Great set menu with amazing service. Very friendly staff and generous meal portions.
En-lai Chan: Great Spanish tapas food! Had a lovely time sitting at the bar being looked after by Tommy whilst watching the chef create such delectable food! Highly recommended!
Pedro Fernández: Home away from home. Great for tapas and a beer, excellent food and service.
L L: Service and ambience great, presentation of food good. Dishes were unfortunately either too strong or not well seasoned.
Ka Ling (Drkyling): Delicious Tapas with friendly service. I’m amazed that this isn’t a full fledged restaurant but part of a shared food space. Pork cheeks skewers was really great - $8 for each but done perfectly at medium rare level. We also got Jamon Serrano - nice, chewy and sweet, served with bread and olive oil. Pan Con Tomate was also very well done - chopped tomatoes with garlic on grilled bread. Patatas Bravas were huge - I would prefer it to be smaller pieces with more sauce. I also enjoyed grilled octopus with potatoes with spicy paprika sauce - lovely sauce and very chewy. With sangria and churros - I’m not so much of a fan, so will not get that next time. The staff were very friendly but payment feels like in Europe, you might have to go to the bar to pay in person. Will be back for more Tapas.
Doro Ngo: The staff were very funny and understanding. The churros were just right, not too sweet, and went well with the chocolate dip. We really enjoyed our time. Will definitely come back.
Doris Dodig: Place is better than the original in Barcelona. We tried all tapas and the octopus and the food was so simple but so delicious which was so satisfying. We recommend it and would definitely come back again.
lostwingwind17: Good service, cabbage salad was great, meat dishes were good but slightly salty. Enjoyable experience overall.
Hilda Wu: Great food and great service
Trudi Scrymgour: Excellent service, great food
Matthew D: I've literally decided to do my first ever food review. And there's damn good reason. Honestly, the food blew my mind. I've travelled the world and tasted some amazing dishes, but this was an experience. The balance of flavours, perfect execution, and to top it off, the staff were great. If you are in Sydney, just try it. Trust.
M P: Joe and the team are amazing! Couldn't get better than this place. Incredible staff and service, wonderful food and sangria - what more could you ask for! My go to place in Sydney. Thanks for always looking after me team Boque ;)
Paul Choi: Food is tasty and really well seasoned. Price is also great for what you get. Also great vibes and amazing staff!!! Good job guys 👌👌👌
Paul L: The friendliest restaurant in this area! And the food is delicious too. Come on a weekday and it's actually very quiet and romantic, avoid the Friday and weekend crowds for the best experience. Love the lamb shoulders dish, so much flavour!
Brendan Dan Tjahjadi: If you are wondering what good service is then come down to Boque at Darling Square. This has to be the epitome of excellent service! The Food is brilliant and very tasty. I’ve been to many tapas places and this is one of the best around. They have tasty cocktails and again, the service by Joe and his team will make you feel welcome and well looked after. We recommend this place to anyone.

THE Spanish Fly: what do users think?
Dawn Reeves: Fabulous atmosphere and outstanding food. Selection of food and drinks were amazing. A very busy place so go early or book a table. In a great location.Recommended dishes Steamed Green Beans & Broccolini, Patatas Bravas, Grilled Hervey Bay Scallops, Poached Beets & Burrata, Seasonal Greens, Chilli Calamari, Paella Balls, Slow-Cooked Lamb Shoulder, Coleslaw Salad, Garlic Mushrooms, Truffle Mushroom Tortellini …More
Eric Heward: Found two pieces of plastic and a hair in one of the empanadas. They didn't charge for empanadas but personally I'd given the whole meal for free if there are foreign objects in the foodFood: 5/1|Service: 5/1|Atmosphere: 5/4 …More
Simran Elliot: Lovely staff and great atmosphere. Sadly the food did not meet expectations especially the chorizo and chickpea dish.Food: 5/1|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Andrea Pulati: Friendly service and delicious food. Awful, unnecessary and thumping music. Don't the Spaniards have their own tunes?Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/3 …More
Niki Vasiliadis: Great vibe and food. This little tapas joint is always packed with people but the tables are turned around pretty quick. We dropped in after a movie at the Ritz and were seated in less than 10mins.Server recommended two dishes per person and we found that to be enough but depends on how hungry you’re feeling. The patatas bravas and calamari dishes were outstanding, would definitely order again. The crab cakes and pulled pork croquettes were also pretty good. There is a lot of variety on the menu which is great for larger groups. The Frangelico Sour was superb.Kitchen closes as 10pm.
Tarynn Houghton: Overall great place! Cocktails and food was outstanding!Best grilled octopus I have had in a very long time! Truffle Mushroom Tortellini was THE BEST!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/3|Atmosphere: 5/4Recommended dishes Pulled Pork Croquettes, Truffle Mushroom Tortellini …More

Madeline Stock: The staff were friendly and prompt. The food was good, we ordered some tapas and a paella. We were told the paella was quite big, we didn't think so and maybe lacked a little bit of flavour.
Jayden Maloney: Amazing, lamb was god tier. And staff with the bleach anime shirt was so helpful and friendly - extremely nice and supportive attitude and i cant say enough to make him stand out. I would eat here again 💯
foxy bro: Amazingly delicious food, must try. Over the top nice staff. Amazing service
Caitlin Bull: A great little restaurant with tasty food. The portions are a little small though. We had 6 plates with bread and the boys could have eaten more.Food: 5/4|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/4Recommended dishes Cabbage Salad, Beef Empanadas …More
Alex Foster: Delicious food and sangriaFood: 5/5|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Pulled Pork Croquettes …More
Ria M: Nice place - we went for drinks and a few tapas. Everything was lovely but the waitstaff put way too much pressure on you to order! There is no need to come up so frequently to ask if anything is needed. If you want to go for a cocktail - I wouldn’t recommend going as they will want you to order a lot of food. Tapas is supposed to be bar food.

Ian Alfaro: Amazing food and service!!
G Man: Didn’t realise you need to read the fine print on saturday to discover their surcharge. Then they had the audacity to ask if we wanted to leave a tip. My tip is if you want to charge a surcharge on Saturday then have the balls to tell the customers in advance. Good food but experience ruined by them trying to steal the 10% surcharge. Didn’t even disclose the surcharge on the bill just increased the prices. Again totally misleading.

Alioshar Guo: Great service, food was delicious, they had a large selection of drinks, this is our first time there, group of 9 people we went for the premium package, end up it was very worth it, abundant of food, you pretty much get to try everything Spanish food get to offer. It was a great experience, definitely recommended.Kid-friendliness: They do have kids menu and it looks pretty good.
Nafizul Alam: I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lola Cocina, a delightful Spanish restaurant, and I must say it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Our visit was for my farewell lunch with colleagues, and we had pre-ordered our meals. To our delight, Lola Cocina got every single order correct and served them promptly to our table. From the moment we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed by the staff members. Their genuine smiles and friendly demeanour created a warm and inviting atmosphere. It immediately set the tone for a memorable dining experience. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the food. We indulged in a variety of tapas, including chicken and lamb. These succulent morsels were bursting with flavour, and the chargrill cooking method was evident in every bite. The juiciness of the meats paired perfectly with the accompanying sauces and seasonings, making each tapa a delightful treat for the taste buds. However, the true showstopper of the day was the seafood paella. The aroma alone was enough to make our mouths water. The rice was cooked to perfection, achieving that ideal al dente texture. The generous assortment of seafood, from plump Prawns to tender mussels, added a delightful oceanic twist to the dish. Every spoonful was a symphony of flavours that transported us straight to the coast of Spain. To complement our meal, we decided to try their renowned sangria. And oh boy, it did not disappoint. The sweet, fruity notes mingled harmoniously with the tang of the red wine, creating a refreshing and delightful beverage that perfectly accompanied our feast.Overall, Lola Cocina exceeded our expectations in every way. The impeccable service, friendly staff, and mouthwatering food made it an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply indulge in authentic Spanish cuisine, Lola Cocina is the place to be. Don't forget to try their heavenly sangria—it's a true masterpiece.

Alicia: Celebrated my sister's birthday here on a Saturday night. The restaurant was completely full. The staff were extremely professional and organised and I was surprised at how fast the service was given the amount of people at the venue. The decor has alot of personality and the atmosphere is pretty intimate for a place that's was so busyNo complaints about the food at all. The menu is very tapas heavy with a impressive range of tapas. The mains were limited to paella and a few standard mains e.g. steak.Highlights of the night was the squid ink paella, seafood soup and cod croquette.Overall definitely reccomend coming here. Everyone in our party left feeling full and satisfied.
Sarah Walker: Checked out this restaurant for the first time after reading so many great reviews. Food was amazing and service was great! Amber Chang: Worst dinner experience ever last night. We saw cockroaches on the wall next to my friend’s face, kindly mentioned to the staff, but none of the staff attended to it. All we asked was to remove it and was responded with ‘this is Sydney, it’s an old building, what can I do’..OH wow, not even a sorry...Funny how none of the staff cares at all. It does seem like it’s an re-occurring issue, now reading at these review. Guess we aren’t the only one here.A note to the owner: the purpose for Google review is for you to improve your customer service, not for you to justify yourself. Make improvements and don’t make same mistake again. If you need to educate yourself in restaurant management, I suggest you to attend TAFE hospitality course, they have good teachers to teach you about restaurant hygiene, customer service and manners in this industry.Hopefully this helps 👍
Atom Chang: Celebrated friend’s birthday and had dinner here last night. Vibe was good. Food was okay. But I will NOT recommend and will not visit again due to their poor pest control and response. I was not very surprised to see a cockroach joined us on the table, considering it’s a restaurant in an old building. However, the response we received from the waiter and manager was so disappointed and unacceptable. “ I cannot do anything”, “It’s a restaurant” etc.
Jack Hsiao: The environment do concerns me a lot, hope the owner can improve
yc C: I've lived in this city for many years. This is definitely the worst dining experience that I've ever had. The food is featureless, and the exhaust system is awful. If you want to get yourself to smell like a fire burnt, please feel free to pop in.Dietary restrictions: Specially disappoint, unpalatable
Tarynn Houghton: Okay....so I highly highly rated this restaurant. From the moment we approached the entrance...we were greeted and seated by the most friendly face and welcoming and warm energy of human. The cocktails were next level. And the food...well...the tastiest food you will ever eat.We will definitely be back there, without a doubt. The ambience is sexy, and romantic, with a hint of naughty red sheek vibe.
Crytos: Great food here with a variety of options. We had the meatballs, the chicken thigh, sliders, empanada and some filthy chocolate dessert. All of it was very good and fast service too.Staff were great and checked on us, friendly as well ☺
Gaby Morgan: Came here for my birthday and had the best night, food was authentic and delicious, and servers were knowledgeable on wines. Amazing service from Lisa :)
Michael Burgun: Great Spanish wine with an excellent range of sherry. Tapas was excellent, with special mention of the cows milk cheese with honey, meatballs and the baked scallops.
