Singing Lessons - Emma Deans Sings: what do users think?
Emma Hasslacher: Emma is a fantastic & super supportive vocal coach with so much of own experience to share. I started singing lessons through Covid over Zoom & progressed from there to studio lessons in person. At the end of each term, there's an option to do a live performance at a pub venue in Balmain in a safe space, which helped give me the courage to start doing open mic nights in Sydney & now moving overseas I will continue on the journey! I'll miss my lessons haha. Highly recommend Emma if you're curious about your vocals but feel unsure or lack confidence, you'll be surprised what you'll discover. Forever grateful, thank you! 😊 xx
Liz Grey: I’ve been having singing lessons with Courtney for the better part of this year and she’s fantastic. She’s knowledgeable, patient and just a delight to be around.Very lucky to have found such a great teacher on my first attempt at ever having had lessons!
Richie Marriott: Emma is such a brilliant singing coach, she’s helped me tremendously from the very beginnings of being scared to even sing in front of people she’s got me doing weekly open mic nights, I can’t thank her enough for her kindness, patience and professionalism throughout :)
Tess Callaghan: Emma Dean is a kind and energetic singing teacher who offers Incredible help and transformation in tone and technique. She is supportive and encouraging and I always feel very comfortable. She has helped me to transform my voice in a short amount of time and I have never sung better, I 100% recommend Emma for her skill and kindness as a teacher.
Chynna Foster: Emma is such a skilled, patient and responsive teacher. I have always had a love of singing but have struggled severely with performance anxiety and nerves. Emma has so much knowledge around the body, vocal placing/shaping, posture and deep/supported breathing and she has helped me to unlock my voice and rediscover my love of singing. She has been truly exceptional and has taught me all of the foundations as well as supporting me to refine my technique and nurtured my voice to help me find my own unique sound. Highly recommend.
Lynn Pichette: Friendly, talented staff suitable for all ages.
Mel Dominguez: My daughter thoroughly enjoys her singing lessons with her teacher, Brodie, who has been knowlegeable, encouraging and patient. I think the highlight was writing a song together! I commend the Emma Deans Sings studio on how hard they have all worked to continue delivering their service during COVID.
Jenny Nylund: A fantastic singing school where each student is individually assessed, and a detailed program designed around their vocal needs, musical interests and specific goals. Emma has a great rapport with students and is positive and warm, but also challenges them to keep building on and developing their skills. Breathing, posture, tone, pitch and vocal health are all covered in lessons. There are great performance opportunities. Suits all ages. Great for HSC music students. Highly recommend
Trinity Elghitany: I have learnt so much from the constant encouragement and advice to reach my full potential. My love for music and performing has grown phenomenally due to the various lessons I have had from here. I know that I can use these skills in the future thanks to Emma Deans. Speaking as someone who struggled to showcase complete confidence, these lessons have assisted me greatly to step outside my comfort zone. Even gaining these simple attributes, I know will provide me with so many opportunities.
Christine Robertson: Singing has been the thing missing in my 11 year old’s life. After a difficult few years at school and a loss of confidence Tina has, through singing, managed to find and draw out the confident effervescent child I knew was there. This has also allowed my daughter to be unafraid to explore her abilities in all aspects of life and to understand that making a mistake is ok .Thank you Tina and Emma Deans Sings.
Nat Britton: My daughter loves her singing lessons and we decided to do the 3 day camp these school holidays. Such a positive experience for the kids, they absolutely shine in their performances on day 3 and thoroughly enjoy everything they learn! Best experience for my 8 year old. Well done Emma
Brie Harris: Previous to starting singing lessons with Emma Deans, I had a few lessons here and there with some of my mums teachers, however I never felt completely comfortable with the teachers and rarely understood what they were talking about. So I was not excessively keen on having singing lessons as I hardly ever came out of a lesson feeling enthusiastic about singing. Then in year 10, I found myself needing to take singing lessons as I was adamant on choosing music for a subject in the HSC. In order to excel in the subject, you must master your instrument for performing. My instrument being voice. I found Emma Deans through one of my mums friends who was having lessons, and how lucky I am to have been introduced to such an inspiring and strong female teacher! I love to perform, whether it be acting, dancing, singing or all of the above, and Emma’s teaching offers techniques and guidance in all of those fields. Although she mainly focuses on teaching singing, due to her encouraging and genuine passion for people, she creates a safe space for someone to find their voice musically and in a more powerful sense. What I have really observed about Emma is that she projects her professional experience onto her students in a non-condescending manner, enabling them to take on board what she has to offer and grow from it, motivating them to perform to the best of their ability. Since having lessons with Emma, I have grown more confident in my own skin and am capable of spreading encouragement to others, rather than just craving from others encouragement. So! If you're wanting to master your instrument, feel more confident and loving towards what you have to offer, then Emma Deans is your woman!
Emma Milne: My daughter was 7 years old when she started lessons with Emma Deans. I searched high and low for a teacher that would be guided by my daughter's interests and unique ideas. I hit the jackpot with Emma. She's been terrific in helping Deme become the burgeoning performer she desires to be. The concerts are always heartwarming and showcase all ages and all abilities of students in the singing school. Deme started working with Luke when she was 11 years old. He brings the best out in her by making her feel comfortable while getting her to work hard at the same time. I recommend Emma Deans Sings to anyone, any age.
Alexandra Gouskos: Other than a love for singing and music, I had pretty much no experience as a singer prior to starting with Emma 2 years ago, she has completely transformed my abilities as a singer and performer. Emma coached me through my HSC Music I course helping strengthen my vocal technique, stage presence, song choices to suit and enrich my voice and style and also connected me with amazing musicians. One of the most valuable things Emma helped me overcome was my performance anxiety and nerves as she taught me how to communicate with the audience and have fun on stage. Nothing seems to be off the cards or out of Emma’s reach when it comes to new and creative ideas, and the concerts she hosts for her singing students are always so fun, and everyone has a go in such a fun environment. Throughout the HSC I’ve seen my performance and vocal abilities improve from coming last in my class to now achieving a band 6 (highest band) and an incredibly high rank within my class. Singing with Emma has completely widened my scope, perception and technique as a singer and I have felt myself develop a more unique style and an even greater love for singing, music and performing.
Sarah Balstrup: I originally went to see Emma in order to develop confidence for public speaking and to learn to breathe more deeply (I had experienced extreme muscle tension in my throat and chest for many years). I was incredibly nervous at my first lesson as I had never sung in front of anyone including family and friends. I always refused to sing Happy Birthday and avoided karaoke like the plague. Emma was great with me and made sure that I was challenging myself at a pace that I was comfortable with. After my first few lessons I had learnt valuable techniques to assist my breathing and had sung in front of someone for the first time. A year or so later, I still see Emma every three weeks because I have learnt to let go and now singing has become enjoyable for me! This year, with Emma's help, I achieved all of my New Year's resolutions in relation to singing and have now performed twice on stage in front of a crowd. Not only that, I sung in front of my fiance for the first time this year, and now we are producing a song together! Overcoming my fears about singing has had a really positive effect on my relationships, my confidence, my teaching technique and my enjoyment of life. Emma's relaxed, yet focused guidance and wholehearted support have made these changes possible. Thanks Emma!
Kimberly Green: Emma is proof that singing is something that can be learned! She has made an amazing difference with my son (age 13), not only with his singing voice, but also his confidence. What I love most about Emma is that she is able to see and nurture to fruition the best in a person's abilities. My son loves his singing lessons with Emma, and it is quite amazing to see how far along he has come in such a short period of time.
Harris 69: Emma teaches my nine-year-old daughter, Saskia. Saskia absolutely adores her weekly lesson. Emma has taken her a long way in one year. The environment is relaxed and supportive, but the lessons are also aimed at extending and challenging students. The concerts are a great way to see what the students have achieved and give them the chance to perform. Highly recommended.
Amy Oram: Emma is an absolutely amazing teacher, I was lucky enough to find her through one of her amazing monthly singing groups. I was looking for another teacher as I had moved interstate. I have had various singing teachers both interstate and internationally and right from that first group singing session I knew I had found my new teacher and I knew she was going to be special. Her voice is absolutely amazing as are her methods but something that is so very unique how she is so amazingly supportive as a teacher and her ability to absolutely sky rocket your confidence. I have always loved singing but been absolutely petrified that I wasn't good enough. Through Emma my confidence has soared and I have pushed past a barrier and been able to sing to a wider audience and found my voice and I love singing. She has been amazingly patient with me , as it is 36 years of self-doubt and she has just supported me and very gently pushed me to doing what I love. I can't recommend Emma enough there are a lot teachers out there but she is just special and every lesson is fun but you come out feeling great about yourself afterwards.
Paul Telling: Emma is a phenomenal singer and singing teacher. I have always wanted to sing but been too scared to do so. But from the very first lesson with Emma I felt at ease, was laughing and smiling as she not only brought my voice out but helped me put chords to a poem I had and turn it into a song.Emma is easy going, extremely supportive, and is a great teacher, She really knows her stuff! and creates a real safe and fun space to learn and express yourself, let that awesome voice out you may have been hiding! She helps you with scales, exercises, breathing, writing songs and putting music to them, performance and mic skills. She puts on a performance night occasionally for her students so we can all perform for our families and friends and so now I have gone from too scared of singing to performing in front of an audience! Awesome! She is also an amazing performer and sings all over the city with her band. Some people teach cause they can't do but Emma really is a great example for her students on what is possible!I highly recommend her if you are anything from just starting out all the way to a professional singer, or if like me you are an adult who has always wanted to perform but been too scared to do so! ! You will have a blast!

Everyone Can Sing: what do users think?
Stan Domeshok: Lovely beginner classes, the teaching is really warm and friendly!
Alix Maclennan: Ruth is a professional, warm and patient teacher.
RUTH ARIA: Monica is a wonderful, caring, talented tutor who reall listens to her students and brings out the best in them! I'm so glad I had the experience of being taught by her!Ruth
supon kettest: Good
Alex Molloy: Deb and the team create a friendly, professional and supportive environment. Can't recommend highly enough :)
Adam: Great teachers, warm, encouraging environment, and an incredibly welcoming community
Sally & Ashley Gunn: In a time of such uncertainty, Deb and her team have made the process of switching over from 'in person' lessons to online lessons so easy. You can chose the platform that suits you best and everything else is just the same. Still the same warmth, enthusiasm, inclusivity and fun. For the longest time my lessons have been the highlight of my week and now so more than ever they're a touchstone. If you've been considering taking singing, songwriting, guitar or piano lessons now is the perfect time and Deb and her team are the perfect people to choose!
ZULEIKA MONESI: I've been taking lessons with Deb for a few months now and I can really hear a difference in my voice! She's a fantastic teacher and is so encouraging and supportive. We've recently begun doing online lessons and they're just as great as doing them in person, no different at all! Highly recommend to anyone interested in learning how to sing!
Lauren Campbell: I’ve really loved having James as my guitar teacher. He is patient, encouraging and really supports creativity and getting out of your comfort zone (half the time without you realizing it). Lessons are really fun too, and I always leave feeling great. With his help I’ve performed live and couldn’t thank him enough for helping me get the courage to do so!
Megan Anderson: I've been taking lessons with Emily for a few months. They are a highlight of my week. She's fantastic- especially good at helping nervous singers feel at ease. She uses different techniques and exercises to work on things like tone, vocal strength and projection. Even after a relatively short period of lessons my pitch and tone have improved and my confidence is slowly growing. I highly recommend Emily as a teacher.
Caroline LM: I can't recommend Emily enough! She has been such an amazing teacher! I have always loved singing but would never have had the courage to sing in front of anyone. Emily has spent time to understand who I was, what I wanted to be able to do, what was the right way to engage with me to help me to get the best of my capabilities and even help me to develop my voice beyond what I would have never hoped to be able to reach. She has an incredible wealth of knowledge of the vocal techniques, has an amazing talent for teaching, give confidence and is herself such a talented singer!
mani: A few months ago I thought I could sing but really I was just making noise. Thanks to Emily I can sing! She showed me how to control my breathing and correct my tone. All my lessons are unique to me! She's incredibly flexible with her schedule and even listened to clips I sent her between lessons. Thanks Emily!
Susan Purcell: I took up singing lessons a few months ago and couldn’t be happier with my teacher, Emily. I was nervous to begin with but Emily has been so warm, encouraging and educational, which has made the whole experience fun as well as informative. Highly recommended!
James Torpy: Deb has done incredible things for my singing. When I came to her I had hardly any range, an extremely fatigued voice from years of singing without proper technique, and I couldn't sing for more than half an hour a day. Within a week or two of seeing her, I was able to sing for 2 hours straight without wrecking my voice! Within a few months she expanded my range substantially and improved the tone of my voice to the point that it was completely transformed, and finally I was able to sing at a volume that could easily be heard above an acoustic guitar. If you want to train your voice up to improve your sound and range and be able to sing in a way that cares and protects your voice rather than straining it, look no further than Deb, you won't be disappointed!!!
Tran Kim Hoan: highly recommend. My voice has improved a lot thanks to the amazing teachers here. I'm so glad to have found this place. To be honest, the name tells everything 3 3 3
Ana Paula Stancati: LOVE it! Very good. I come for fun, to relax and cope with stress. Just started weekly lessons and simply amazing results in so many aspects. Totally recommend it!!!!
Ankur Music: I’ve had the pleasure of being a student of Deb for a number of years. Not knowing how to sing at all she has built my singing voice scratch to where it is today! I have greatly improved my pitch and the tone of my voice. She has also sky rocketed the quality of my song writing and helped me develop creative and amazing melodies. If it wasn’t for Deb I don’t think the quality of my songs would be where it is today. I’ve also had the pleasure to take lessons from Carmelo over the 6 months, who has taught me how to improve my belting in only a short period of time. Carmelo has a great knack of using different techniques to quickly change the quality of your tone and voice projection. He’s also been great in improving the confidence of my live performance by not only giving vocal guidance but psychological tips on how to deal with anxiety and stage fright. Every lesson I have with Carmelo I feel like my voice improves! I’ve also worked with the amazing Ruth for a few lessons. She has great knowledge of the anatomy the voice and how it works. In only a few lessons she gave me a better understanding of vocal resonance and vibration which allowed me to reach the higher notes I was struggling with. The teachers at Every One Can Sing are extremely welcoming and friendly and provide a great community of support. I would highly recommend taking lessons from any one of the teachers available.
Hayden O'Sullivan: Love the team there, Carmello has been working with me for about a year now and I'm so happy with the progress I've made.
Emma Natalie H: Emily is incredible. She gives proper tailored constructive advice that works. There isn’t a genre beyond her. She also picks up tunes in about a second and can support you through a song whether you need a backing track, have forgotten the tune or lost your place. Most of all is her brilliant attitude. She’s bubbly as anything and truly knows how to help you feel completely at ease. She’s probably the only person I am comfortable singing in front of. Emily for the win!
Becci Watson: Deb is soooo encouraging! She has helped me understand how to place the sound so I don’t have to strain my voice. Give her a go!
Leah Reid: I started having weekly lessons with Deb in early 2014. She truly is wonderful teacher who cares deeply about all her students. Every lesson is fun, and I come out feeling lighter even if I entered the lesson exhausted or had had a terrible day. My vocal range, my technique and my stage confidence all improved because of Deb. Deb has also created an amazing community of musicians that I am blessed to be a part of. I cannot encourage you enough to go see Deb!

Jodie Harris - Singing Teacher & Acting Coach: what do users think?
Jay daniel: Jodie’s a fantastic teacher. Definitely a great mentor for a complete beginner. I was looking for an instructor that would make me feel comfortable and ease some beginner uncertainties. Her teaching style and warm personality made the process so much easier. I saw her for a little over a year and in that time we focused on releasing constant tension and projecting more. As both were related to nerves and shyness, having a wholistic, kind and gentle friend guiding me was invaluable. 10/10, I cannot recommend enough.
tania babian: My son Kristian has been taking private singing lessons with Jodie for 6 years. She is an incredible singing teacher that is very knowledgeable and caring. Not only does she teach vocal technique she is also a fantastic performance coach and has prepared Kristian both vocally and in acting for many musical theatre auditions.Jodie has guided Kristian through his voice change and has been amazing with helping him release vocal tension. She has also encouraged him to explore different musical styles such as Jazz and contemporary. She has prepared him for AMEB exams and has given him the confidence to compete in numerous eisteddfods.I highly recommend Jodie.
sarah taylor: Jodie is a warm, inviting and knowledgeable singing teacher. She’s helped me develop and strengthen my teaching voice for work as well as ignite confidence within myself to sing for leisure. Jodie is professional, welcoming and personable and comes highly recommended.

Christine Beasley Singing Teacher: what do users think?
embars: go harrass some more old asians with bikes 💀
Justine Kim: Christine was my teacher for 2 years before I was accepted into the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. There was never a song I couldn't sing to a high standard due to the strong, foundational techniques she taught me in breath control/support, presentation and melodic phrasing.A teacher who leads by example, Christine taught me invaluable skills on how to approach the art of song with respect and musicality through extensive contextual research and meticulous analysis of each bar - notes, lyrics and all!Christine never failed to help me to achieve my goals. During my time with her, I played the lead role of Kim in Miss Saigon, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, received a High Distinction in my AMEB exam, an OnShow nomination for Best Vocal Performance and straight Outstandings (A+) in all my Music II Performances. Most importantly, she helped me prepare my recordings for universities abroad to showcase my talents, and under her guidance, I was accepted into Cornell University, College of Arts and Science where I plan to pursue a major in Music.Christine teaches from her abundunt love for singing. Under her guidance, I grew to immeasurable extents and will continue to grow, both as a singer and individual.Thank you, Mrs Beasley.
Jasmine Siarn: As a beginning singer, I was searching for someone who could teach me the skills necessary to discover my singing voice to its fullest extent. Christine is an experienced and passionate teacher who has a natural gift for teaching, and is able to draw from her students focus, determination, musical understanding and improvement in the voice every lesson. Each week, I am excited about music and my progress, and look forward to the challenges she gives me. Christine is a great inspiration and role model for any singer starting out their career!
Louisa Andrews: I came to Christine after a particularly negative experience at university had all but convinced me to give up singing -- how thankful I am to have found her! Christine's dedication and passion for her craft has helped me rediscover my love of singing and now I can't wait to see what the future holds for my talent. With a long and successful career in music that is nothing short of inspiring, coupled with her experience as a teacher, Christine is simply a wonderful coach and I always look forward to our training sessions every week.
Nicola Harvey: Christine was an absolutely wonderful find! My young daughter (12 years of age) has been a performer since she was little and has naturally found her way in the musical theatre world. However, when offered an audition in a major musical alongside renowned Australian performers last year I realised she needed professional support and tuition if she was to truly follow her passion. Christine embraced my daughter and kindly and compassionately worked her through her first major audition process, not only guiding and tutoring her musically, but also providing professional support in other stage nuances such as stage positioning, use of the microphone, breathing, visual and connective techniques to feel confident and comfortable in front of adjudicators while still embracing and enjoying her own unique personality and style. My daughter was successful in her audition in what was an extremely competitive process. My daughter has many other interests besides singing and performing, and as such we do not have any daily regime with practice nor do we value competitiveness. However, since my daughter has been tutored by Christine she has developed and maintained her own standards of practice and commitment and has flourished in her love for musical theatre and singing in a natural, happy and non-competitive way. She was selected this year for the school vocal enrichment group as their primary soloist and will be singing at Town Hall as representative soloist for her school along with other selective vocal performances she has enjoyed this year.Christine has always been understanding, firm though compassionate, and so inspirational, which has significantly developed my daughter in her confidence and singing ability within the last year. My daughter loves attending her lessons with Christine and finds herself surprised when she realises how her vocal ability has developed so much, and so quickly, and how enthusiastic she is about varying vocal styles and really strengthening her voice. I see how Christine's passion for singing has overflowed into her teaching of my daughter and I am very grateful for her shared expertise and commitment to my daughter's vocal development.
Alan Richard Hendrie: I have known Chriatine Beasley as a singer and teacher for almost 30 years. There are few more dedicated professionals capable of guiding young voices, and Christine is qualified by knowledge, experience and enthusiasm. As a trained Early Childhood teacher and an internationally experienced opera singer, she knows what it takes to elicit the best from a student, from beginner to professional level. We have adjudicated major singing competitions together, and her concern for the vocal and emotional security of the young participants has always impressed me.I recommend Christine Beasley as a teacher of singing, at all levels. Nobody is more dedicated to the task of teaching!Professor ALAN RICHARD HENDRIE,Chair of Vocal Department, Conservatorio Maestro Paulino, Ponta Grossa, Brasil.
Emily Knapman: Christine is an incredibly passionate, generous and talented singing teacher. I have had the pleasure of working with and learning from her for the past 4 years, during which time she has encouraged and challenged me through building towards a wide repertoire and finding many performance opportunities, such as her annual concerts and the Sydney Eisteddfod. I always feel welcomed by Christine, and am so grateful for the effect that her teaching has had not just on my singing, but on my confidence and skill as a performer. I feel privileged to have found such a kind and dedicated teacher and friend in Christine.
Carmen Homaei: Christine is a beautiful, lively teacher with a contagious passion for music. During my time with Christine I have been able to develop a technique that enables me to sing any song, from any genre with confidence. She is a great mentor and she has always provided me with great advice and guidance regarding my music career. She tailors the lessons to your vocal ability and what you're trying to achieve, and nothing is impossible! It is a pleasure to work with Christine, and I look forward to our end of year concert!
