L T: I took the 2 hour beginners sailing course this week and it was the best thing I have done in ages. Belle was an amazing sailing teacher and quickly got me sailing about Balmoral. I am very grateful at how friendly, professional and knowledgeable the entire staff of Balmoral Water Sports are and I would highly recommend them without hesitation if you want to learn sailing.

Michael: PS After I published below original review, I have received apology and respectful solution to the situation by the owner. Just to be fair with the whole situation.Original first review with 1 star:Absolutely Disgrace Service. Lack of support with no responding to my last 3 emails (great service before I made deposit) and my last two calls were confirmed where the shipment is. 3 days ago WSS informed me that board is on the way and will be here next week.Today they sent me an email stating that it's too expensive to the owner and I must share freight costs of $570. If I don't, they won't order the freight - in contradiction just 3 days earlier I was advised shipment is on the way.I wasted 7 months since paying deposit, missed the summer and now left empty handed.We exchanged few emails today and there was no even an apology. They would not profit as much as expected, but that should be calculated in business. Instead, they will charge their customers for their bad luck. But at the end, as discussed in emails, I wanted to buy extra accessories for over $1500, so they would make up the loss. No wonder businesses are collapsing, I'm buying online from now on - cheaper but same terrible customer service.

Nick Disney: I recently completed a 5-day Cruising Instructor Course with flying Fish Sailing.The course was great, interesting and fun, and I particularly liked learning about RYA structure.Russel our instructor was extremely helpful, professional, and fun, as was Mike Job.Thanks Flying Fish, Russell, and Mike.
joost mes: Took RYA Yacht Cruise Instructor with Flying Fish. They say that instructing is the most effective way of knowledge retention and maintaining competence. But having all this knowledge and competence is an entirely other thing than being able to pass this on in an effective way. This course prepares you well for this. We were provided with the tools and tricks to do so. Our instructor Russell Bonner (FF Operations Director) has a wealth of experience as instructor and his fun methods of explaining and checking if things stick will certainly be part of my way of instructing in future. All in all time well spend in the spectacular setting of Sydney harbour.
Matthias Niermann: Just finished my yachtmaster fast track course here and am extremely happy with the result. All the instructors were amazing with more than enough knowledge and skill, while the management, if there were any little issues, found a solution instantly. The area is great aswell with a good variety of perfect wind to some swell to really round your skills in regards to building good wind awareness and boat handling while learning to apply all the theory knowledge. The facilities at the uacht club and from flying fish were very good as well. From the classroom to the toilet and cafe availability over to foul weather equipment freely available for students. I came half way across the world to do this course here and my expectations were exceeded greatly so whenever i can fit in another course and have the time i will definitely make my way back down to sydney for it.
Matthew Troughton: With absolutely no sailing experience, I just finished the Start Yachting Weekend course at Flying Fish. Stafan (and Patrick) were excellent at creating a fun learning experience - the right balance between feeling completely safe and slightly pushed out of my comfort zone. Can't wait to come back and continue my sailing journey with the team.

Martin Chafei: If you do your boat license with Flying Fish you will get so much more information and ways of remembering signs, radio communications and tying knots. E B: After the 2020 Easter surf camp got cancelled because of COVID, we were able to partake in a week-long surf camp last week. Sam and Ash were extremely thankful for our patience and flexibility when, in fact, we were incredibly grateful for the upgrade, and the experience itself far exceeded our expectations. We arrived with 15 -20 hours of surfing under our belt, and received extremely personalised coaching to help us on our journey to become intermediate surfers. Daniel our coach was unbelievably nice, funny and dedicated to us improving. We can't wait to go back and would certainly wholeheartedly recommend AST to anyone who is thinking of taking their surfing to the next level! Thanks again @AST!!
S: Please think twice before booking with this company. They are ripping people off! If there are any problems or cancellations they will just keep your money and ignore you. After they cancelled our camp due to covid19 they never gave us a refund! Since March they still owe me and my friend over 800$. I tried to give them time to pay the money back however they do not react to my emails. So here I am beeing forced to make this public, so others are warned about AST. They are indeed just taking advantage of the fact that we are no longer in Australia. Sam and his team clearly not care about their customers. Just taking the money of people and keeping it like it belongs to them. If you cant offer what people paid you for just pay the money back, like every other company does! I got no words for how disappointed and angry I am!
Fleur Schubert: AST is an amazing surf cool! I went to Easter camp and joined a few group lessons. Everytime we got in to the water I learned so much about how and what I can improve, the ocean, weather conditions, you name it. They know there stuff. AST has really good, professional, relaxed and fun surf instructors. I had the best time with them.Thank you so much guys !

Everyone was able to work with an instructor in the water which made you feel comfortable. We started riding the waves on our stomach and then transitioned to standing when the instructors felt we were ready. I would totally do this again.

World Traveling: Oscar was a brilliant instructor who gave great time and enthusiasm to his surf group. He explained everything very clearly and has a great passion for helping people learn to surf. Booking our activity was very easy and all the staff in the office were very friendly. If you're going to learn to surf it might as well be in Bondi Beach, and it has to be with Let's Go Surfing!
Yael Aldrich: You just created two surfers - I don't know if I should thank you or not - LOL! We picked this activity for our kids after the other option we wanted couldn't happen. While I'm sorry we didn't get to kayak, I am thrilled with how Let's Go Surfing more than made up for missing that family activity. My teens easily joined an adult group lesson. The instructors were fun, helpful, and encouraging to the new surfers. I had an amazing time just taking pictures and video of my kids having a blast!
