Nin Roberts: As somebody who’s a fan of open play toys, I’m so relieved to have found a physical store in Sydney! Most of the online and brick and mortar stores that stock Grimms, Grapat etc are all located in other states or in Europe where the shipping is way too expensive. You can never go wrong shopping here. Want something that looks and feels high quality, as is definitely going to be appropriate for their age?You’re sure to find it at this store. Have been there a few times now and it’s always come through.Make sure to use the extremely helpful staff. Generally I tell them the age and anything major the kid does or does not like and they can suggest a number of presents (at a number of prices) all of which seem like a good fit. Both kids (and parents) have been very happy with each gift we have bought.Complimentary gift wrapping is also very quick and beautifully done.

eoin james: Went in to purchase the hammer ball set here, as I bought one not long ago for another nephew from the Bondi Jn store and it was quite the hit. The hammer ball set was $9 more expensive at this store which was a little disappointing, although I was willing to stretch the budget as I knew the hammer ball would secure my position of favourite uncle on the big day.After commenting on the price rise to the staff member assisting me, they kind of just shrugged it off and blamed the computer system. I didn’t think much of it and proceeded to pay.Once paid for, I was offered a free gift wrapping, so I said “yeah sure, thanks” I then witnessed the most violent slap job of a gift wrapping I’ve ever encountered.The folds were hideously uneven, the amount of sticky tape was just bizarre, and the ribbon was some how torn with the scissors that were meant to cut it.For reference, hammer ball comes in a near perfect cube shaped box, perhaps the easiest form to gift wrap.I once watched an attendant at a competing toy store wrap a plush octopus, with the tentacles wrapped individually in the time that this hack job was done.Anyway, I’ll be rewrapping this hammer ball before handing it over.So yeah, untidy gift wrapping gets 1 star from me.

Robert Spriggs: Wholly inadequate packaging: soft toy sent in thin plastic back that was ripped in four places when it arrived, and toy dirty. Fortunately managed to clean the toy so as not to waste resources by returning it. But P&P charges easily covered better packaging that a 15c bag. Also note that their "insurance" covers the fact they "will assist you with making a claim with the courier" and not actually do anything themselves.Customer service never responded to my message.Once star given as the shipping was fast.

Farhana Faria: I am super impressed with this toy store and glad that I found them. They have two warehouses in Sydney where you can pick up an item within hours of online purchase without waiting for delivery by post. I brought a trike from them and was able to pick up within midday from the warehouse. I had to return it as the height was too low for my child. The customer service was very prompt to advice on phone. I returned it back to the warehouse the next day and was able to get a refund. I brought a larger version of the same trike immidiately on line and was able to pick up from the store then and there (thanks to Ruth on customer service desk). It saves a lot of time expecting delivery coming home when you shop from online stores.The only issue this they do not respond to email queries. If youc all them, they fix your issue very quickly.They have a huge collection of toys and thebest price for them. Looking forward to buy more toys from them,
Sarah Barolli: I purchased 2 books from Discount Toy Co, once I received them both the spines on the books were damaged with one even having a tear in it. I sent an email as soon as I opened the box - no response for 10 days. I called them and asked if they received my email and was advised that because I didn't pay for insurance there's nothing they could do. I explained to them that it wasn't a shipping issue it was the way the books were packaged - the box was too small the spines were over the edge of the box and weren't even wrapped in anything. They told me that they've never had an issue like this so they wouldn't take responsibility for the damaged books. Offered me a 10% refund which totals to $5 which is no use to me as I now have to repurchase them as they were a gift.

It unfortunately resulted from an issue with the order being delayed (hence the absence of the fifth star).When I asked about cancelling my order (which I only needed to because of a time limit I had to receive it), it was a painlessly quick and easy process. Within next to no time of my call to the store, everything was put in place for the order to be cancelled and funds redirected back to my bank account (I used PayPal).I thought it was only fair to leave this review to highlight the positive experience dealing with the store that resulted when things didn't quite go to plan.

They emailed me to say there was a delay from their suppliers, then when the items came in rang, and asked that as we are in lockdown, could they send them directly to my granddaughter, ON her birthday, which they did, and she was thrilled. I have let all my FB family know (where there are a lot of grandparents). Good service should always be acknowledged.
Fran Mules: I recently ordered a gift through the Crayons website for a friend who had just had twins. I selected the gift wrapping options (which, as customary, you pay a small fee for). I realised after I placed the order that I had made a typo on the gift card message. When my friend sent me a photo of the gift she’d received I saw that not only had someone at Crayons handwritten the note on the gift card (most companies don’t bother and just print it out) but that person had even corrected my typo! Bless! So thank you Crayons person who did that. I was really grateful for the extra touch. Will happily order from you again in the future. (I should add the price for the toy was about $20 cheaper than anywhere else I saw).
Jessica Cory: I ordered a birthday present for my daughter on Monday night and paid for the same day delivery between 6-9pm. We didn't receive it so I called the courier who told me that I wouldn't get it until Thursday or Friday. I contacted Sheyne after 9pm at Crayons as my daughters birthday was on Wednesday (and Tuesday was the public holiday) and Sheyne got back to me that night. Sheyne then organised for a replacement present to be driven to me the following morning (on a public holiday!) so that I would have a gift to give my daughter on her birthday. This kind of customer service is exceptional! I was so impressed with the responsiveness and helpfulness of Sheyne and would order from them again. Thank you so much!
Belinda Khouri: After stumbling across Crayons for some really well priced Christmas presents, I used them again for party favours for my daughter’s birthday. I had left it ridiculously late and couldn’t find what I wanted on the website, but a quick call to Jono saved the day. He literally searched the whole warehouse for me, found what I needed and sent it out and delivered by the very next night, just in time for the party. I cannot thank them enough for that extra effort and diligence. Their range is massive, their pricing is super competitive, and with customer service like that, I can’t fathom ever shopping anywhere else now for toys or educational tools.
