International Wing Chun Academy: what do users think?
Matt Allbeury: I visited with my daughter from another Wing Chun school, receiving first class instruction from a super friendly team! Oh and the music for the warm up and power sessions was awesome!!
Timothy Poon: My son has been learning and training through the "Little Dragons" program for over a year now. He attends every week, mostly twice a week. We drive an hour to get there, we do it, because he loves it, and kids classes are only available at City HQ and Liverpool. Would love kids classes in other area and closer to home. My son's reflex, posture and balance improved greatly, so did his confidence and self-esteem. All the instructors are nice and approachable, yet firm and fair to the kids. Kids program "Little Dragons" is a blend of techniques and fun games, all conducted in English. Highly recommended!
Yop Nam: Best Kung Fu academy in Sydney CBD. Welcoming school with good mix of students. Get fit, take care of yourself and settle down those angry types. Multiple locations, great instructors, awesome style
Richard Segui: Really enjoy learning martial arts, great for keeping my fitness up and good as a family activity, especially recommend the Sunday class!
Bradley Grey: Offers cheap training plans that include suspension capabilities and the staff and students are very kind and respectful. Here you will learn very practical self-defence martial arts that are extremely useful in real-life combat situations. At the beginning of the lesson there is a cardiovascular warm-up to avoid injury, then at the end a work-out focused on increasing speed, dexterity and core strength.Since i first walked into the acedemy 7 months ago i have improved in both body and mind.
Ngoc Luc: We have been with Wing Chun Academy for 10 years and we must say that it has been a great experience and pleasure to attend. My three sons love the kungfu activities and all the instructors are very helpful.I strongly recommend the activities to all young children to do starting from the little dragon classes.
Juan Chiang: An accidental trial class to check out what Ip Man's kungfu like led me and my family (2 adults and 2 kids) signing up to learn Wing Chun at the Sydney branch. Stephen and the instructors are very professional yet friendly. It's a fantastic way to not only keep fit but to learn self-defence. More importantly, it's a great way for me to spend time with my kids, doing stuff together and bonding.I highly recommend this to those who want to learn self-defence, staying fit and doing activities together with their family.
J M: I've learned alot so far and really appreciate the art and thought behind this Academy's teaching. A really fun place to train and am so glad I joined ✌
Jagdish Suvarna: Great place to learn Wing Chun. The instructors explain everything very clearly which makes it easy to learn. Not only are you learning Kung Fu, but it also helps you keep up with your fitness.
Lisa Lin: UPDATE 21/9/22 - I am a fairly reasonable person. If you look at my profile, as a local guide I make sure to share my honest thoughts to help you. My experience with the academy has been poor and I recommend to find an alternative school and ensure you are clear on the T&C's. Example - Clause 16: If you cannot continue training due to permanent medical incapacity, clause 15 shall not apply provided that you follow clause 14 and submit $50 administration fee and medical certificate.ORIGINAL REVIEW 17/9/22Terrible customer service/ business model, just want to take money from you. I wanted to terminate my current plan and switch to a training card system. The reason is that I do get quiet unwell and also travel for work. A training card gives me flexibility. The school doesn't have a system in place to make up classes for the week missed or provide 24hrs notice if unwell. The school was insistent they would waive termination if I pay for the training card online. This costs $12 to ship piece of paper. I mentioned I'll buy it person at my next class and will definitely stay in the school as I enjoy the teachers even if their system is archaeic. They still weren't understanding and didn't respond to my direct feedback until 3 days later. The school really could better utilise modern online CRM tools which other fitness business are doing. The teachers are great, however management needs to improve business. Unfortunately you've lost a customer in me and I do not recommend this place.RESPONSE TO OWNER 17/9/22My intention was to continue on, the company was trying to get extra money out of me. First of all, I was never offered to buy the training card over the phone. I was told I could only buy online. I said I could pick it up on the weekend when I attend my regular class. The customer lead said "I'm only in week days and I have to come these days."Yes I agreed to the training card, I didn't realise until later when it was in my shipping cart that it would cost $12 to ship a piece of paper. I called again saying I'll collect it on the weekend and can you switch plans now. You wouldn't provide an answer and I could tell you just wanted me off the phone. I didn't get a straight answer. Then you gave me a deadline of Friday 8pm to collect the card which I already told you I couldn't do.To sum it up, this shows a further poor customer experience that it took you 3 days to respond to my follow up enquiry. When it comes to a Google review, you took 12 hours. This could of easily been resolved if you could of been more accommodating. Because I'm unhappy with this experience I've decided to no longer attend your school. You've now dragged it out and will be charging me on Monday. This comes back the point of the company taking extra money out of students'.I'd like to be clear that I enjoyed your teachers, but your customer service is very poor and your business model is unaccomadating.RESPONSE TO OWNER 21/9/22Your response is disappointing. Your first response clearly states that you offered two methods, training card via phone or online. I was only offered to buy the card online through a link, I explained that I could come collect on the weekend as I will be in for my regular class. If a phone option was available to me, I would of gone with this route as this wouldn't require a courier fee. The academy opens Monday to Sunday, if it is opened how are there restrictions for pick-ups on the weekend. I offered to have a further phone call on this, instead you are emailing and messaging me back and forth on Google instead of having a proper chat. This in itself reflects your poor customer service. You offered a waiver and I asked for considerations as mentioned in my previous posts. You are twisting the story to put me at blame.Your final line of "we believe that you simply wanted to take advantage of our offer...without the intention of pulling through on your end of the deal" displays your mistrust in me as a customer. This is unfortunate and reveals your level of service and the culture of the organisation.
ACCOUNT 1: Amazing Wing Chun martial art academy. I started overweight, with no stamina, and no confidence. In 6 months at once a week, my muscles have been toned, I've got a lot of stamina, and I've built up confidence. The classes are really well structured, with an intense warm up, then techniques, and then intense warm down. The instructors are so supportive and inspiring. I've only got one issue, and that's that even though I paid for the adult & teens class (15+), I had to train with kids who were around 10 or below, which is disappointing because I couldn't properly apply the techniques especially with their small stature. Other than the misleading age group advertised on their website, I really love training at the International Wing Chun Academy and am so exited to continue training. ( I train at Burwood branch)
B1ue 5ky: Wing Chun is awesome & truely lives up to their moto of 'Fitness with a Purpose'. The Academy and all the instructors are great, helpful and most of all - patient while you learn. I have felt comfortable the moment I started and always felt welcomed & safe. It's fun; you get fit & the best part is you learn one of the best martial arts out there. Wing Chun - I love it! Try it - you won't regret it.
Tim Hau: During my time training in Winchun .I have gained more understanding of this beautiful martial art.I would also like to thank my Winchun instructors to carefully guide me through this wonderful journey.Wingchun classes are availble seven days a week. Whether your seeking self defence , get fit or meet Winchun goals . Instructors will always be there to guide you to progress to that next Winchun Grade - Winchun Level.
J T: A great place to learn Wing Chun and develop your martial arts at your own pace. The instructors genuinely want to teach you all about the style and its application in a practical way. It's a good place to train, make new friends who are like minded and always fun! It is definitely a good place to start or continue your martial arts training.
Charles Lee: Training here for two years. Friendly instructors, great sessions and learn to build on my skill. Constantly keeping me fit and in shape to defend myself. Great place to learn Wing chun.
Josh Sutto: Great establishment and Shifus 🙏
Andrew Billing: I've really enjoyed seeing my son grow in confidence and skill learning Wing Chun over the past year. I then also joined and I've appreciated the way the instructors love what they're doing and willingness to pass on their knowledge and skill to improve all students. They are really encouraging and supportive no matter the age or skill level. Great instructors mean great students who love to train together. Very happy to recommend this place for learning Wing Chun.
Rebs V.: Amazing instructors, patient and friendly at HQ and and branches.Still coming here regularly.
Erykahsky: I don't know how to put it into words but I'm extremely grateful towards my instructors and peers who have supported me this past year. I recommend this academy wholeheartedly to anyone who is interested.❤❤❤
Lui Peter: Great training team
S U: I have been practicing at International Wing Chun Academy around two and half years now and I am really enjoying the classes. The classes are well organised according to student’s skill level and we are able to learn not only practical self defence techniques but also we can get good cardio exercise too.Every instructors are friendly and polite to students and the academy is very welcoming atmosphere. What personally I like is that all the classes are carried out in respectful manner and the academy teaches the depth of the art. Something that I would want to carry on my lifetime. In the past I have learnt a few different forms of martial art. And I think that this academy teaches the real art of self defence rather than combative techniques. If you are interested in real martial art experience, this is the place to try out. International Wing Chun Academy is the real deal!!

VT1 Martial Arts Academy: what do users think?
A AL: This is the rating for boxing, which is of really mediocre quality. Only around 3 classes a week, overcrowded, and very slow progression (you must spend at least 8 weeks on the bags. what’s the point of not doing technical exercises - not sparring, exercises)?Anyway, besides that the staff is very friendly, and the BJJ lessons are numerous and look goodBut if you’re looking for boxing, it’s not great
Zac Bronson: Excellent training, coaching and facilities at VT1. Seeing as i have moved around Sydney a lot for work its given me a taste of many different mma/bjj gyms. VT1 is the real deal. Couldn’t recommend a private lesson from their striking coach Kassem enough; extremely professional and proficient.
K K: Professional, clean and experienced gym perfect for kids and families, they also have 3 levels fully equipped for striking and wrestling.
Adam: Amazing gym, super friendly and supportive! Beginner or experienced, it’s the place for you !
Evan Carson: Very friendly staff! Would recommend
Omar Rihani: Pretty pricey, but I'm having a lot of fun and feel like I'm learning a lot. Lessons are fluid and booking classes and attendance is very flexible, plus, the teachers are incredibly skilled at teaching and the arts themselves. I would recommend if you would like to get into martial arts, go pro, or just get into shape.
Sage A: First week training here and absolutely love it.The coaches & staff are excellent, shout outs to Doug in particular! The culture here is great and value the inclusiveness where everyone is welcome :)
Regina Zang: VT1’s coaches bring the rare combination of high-level skillsets and experience, combined with empathy and compassion meeting me where I am.The gym’s environment is super friendly (also women-friendly), supportive and fun. My boy has also been going for a few years in the kids' class and loves it – the class has the perfect balance of coaching the techniques and cool games – most of the time he’s learning the techniques through the cool games! The gym certainly has a soul over just being a money-making machine. If you are a woman or a parent reading this review, give VT1 a go, I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Jamie Schonhein: Amazing coaches love to work as a assistant coach staff are wonderful love training there and love the community
Benjamin Fischer: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismThe instructors are great with kids and encourage life skills and discipline.
Joshua Frost: Best karate place I know
GS: Great culture, excellent instructors. Loved taking my kids there and I learnt a lot doing BJJ. Shame COVID had such an impact, but they will do well again when things open up
Alan Arnott: Best MMA gym in Australia. I highly recommend it!
Tim Liang: Excellent coaches and they all teach you well. Thanks both Liams, Justin and Jordan for a wonderful VT1 experience so far, would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to do any type of martial arts.
Mr. Wen m/: The Muay Thai, boxing, BJJ, wrestling and karate programmes are all of very good quality. Most of the coaches are current or former combat sport athletes and excellent instructors also. The Muay Thai fundamentals classes are great.
HYUN-JIN: Positive:Professionalism,Value
Samantha Monteiro: Amazing place to train! Really good (and highly experienced) trainers, family-like environment and a decent variety of martial arts to dabble with and try! Highly recommend checking them out!
Mark Ley: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityA great place for kids to build confidence. Very helpful instructors
Tracy Le: Fantastic kids programs! Plenty of different martial arts available for kids of all ages and levels. Amazing kids coaches and facility. There is something for everyone, even the parents! The kids always look like they're having a great time!
Josh Shaw: Elan is the goat 🙏
Bobby Lay: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI love training here, not only is it professional but my coach is a real world champion. It's friendly, clean, convenient and my kids love the Junior BJJ Classes. I can't highly recommend training enough here, every coach is an expert.

Australian Self Defence & Taekwondo Academy: what do users think?
Shannon Walker: Great for the whole family.
Simon Lauer: great club with a good atmosphere
Rebecca Koussa: Wonderful teachers, always happy and firm with the kids. I did a few lessons before I was too ill and everyone is amazing. The people attending classes are open, social, pleasant, and the teachers are fun, funny, and knowledgeable. Plenty of parking and food options while you wait. There is a second hand uniform email on the wall so if you need, get uniforms there before signing up. It gets cheaper per family member which helps and they have family classes you can do with your kids. Plenty of different times to suit your routine. Overall, if you can afford it, it is a great place for you and your children.
Abd Manaf Harun: My two grandkids age 2 and 4 years old take up weekly classes here learning Taekwando. They are having such great fun with other kids in their age range. The staff and instructors are friendly, helpful and well experienced individuals.Parking are ample and the places easy to find using Waze.Highly recommended.
Shezina Akhtar: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueFriendly staff, quick response, value for money.
Sharlene Zeederberg: Fabulous team and activity. Great to start at any age. Good for fitness, confidence and mindfulness too. My daughter absolutely loves it.
yasmeen ali: Love AMA as its been more than 3yrs my 3 girls r in the academy n entire staff is so supportive in all way to make sure students achieve their goals as well as patents too. It have helped my girls to achieve confidence,be more protective, caring n so on. Thank u so much AMA for being with us to achieve our goals. 🤩100% RECOMMENDED👍
Vicky Young: AMA has been such a great activity for my family. The instructors are so great with the kids and make every lesson fun and definitely something we look forward to each week. The team bring so much energy and really encourage us to push ourselves a little bit further each week. It really is such a community unto itself and everyone has been so welcoming and supportive. AMA is such a great activity for developing confidence, focus, discipline, strength and fitness. We couldn’t recommend it more!! Thank you AMA for making this such a great part of our weekly family routine!
Gabiie Costa: This is such an amazing place. The teachers are great! My son loves to attend his classes and is learning so much.
Muhammad Ali Fox: Excellent all around 🦊👍
Patricia Magalhaes: It’s a fantastic and fun way to exercise giving you more confidence in self-defence regardless of age/physical fitness. All instructors are friendly, caring and experts in that field. I totally recommend it to everyone.
Stu Dowling: The staff (and the entire cohort) are unfailingly supportive and friendly. They're great, whether they're handling a young kid who is struggling with focus, helping a new student learning to kick for the first time, or working with an experienced practitioner who just needs a few tweaks to improve their performance.
thi huynh: Hi all parents, please let me know if it's fair? I've paid 30 weeks' worth of classes ($660) from January until the end of April. I asked if I could pause the payment so my boy could attend all the makeup classes. When we use up all the makeup classes, will we continue paying? The staff said no and gave me two options: 1/I have to continue paying to use the paid make-up classes. 2/she will cancel my payment, and I have one month to do all 30 makeup classes.Which kids can do 30 classes in a month with school and other activities?! Does that sound fair to you, parents? You have to pay to use what you have paid already, or they will cancel your membership/payment, but then you will technically lose your paid classes because you can't keep up with that many classes in a month?!
Mila Baturevych: My son and I are absolutely loving the Academy - wonderful teachers, fantastic values, proper teaching and supportive community. We are with them for the past five years and planning to stay for many more years.
Jen Or: They host great kids parties!
Fitri Arsal: Highly enjoyed training here. Fun and supportive staff to push me physically and mentally! Wide range of classes compared to others that I have tried. One of the best in Sydney.
Kaan: Undoubtedly 5 stars. Both my kids have grown up with AMA and one of the best decisions we made in their education program. Great selection of instructors lead by Master Hakan Manav and Grand Master Rıdvan Manav. At AMA they don't just train physically but also mentally. Regular lectures on motivation and self development, are the proof that it is not just a taekwando Centre but a self development academy. Thank you to every single instructor for your efforts. We wish you many more 40 years to come.
omar K: Awesome team and atmosphere. My kids have shown great physical and social development since starting.Highly recommended 👍
Vivienne Nguyen: I am new to martial arts and it is always daunting to start at a new place. However, AMA was so welcoming and professional. The trainers were attentive, provided guidance and were so encouraging. The adult class made me feel empowered. I cannot wait to continue my training here to become fitter and stronger! Thank you so much AMA - keep up the great work!
uditha rajapaksha: Positive:Communication,QualityI am in Sri Lanka I would like to learn in your sports club I am doing physiotherapy in Sri Lanka Karate Wushu Wrestling Judo
Katka B-S: Me and my boys love this place. I love professionalism, great communication and the principals which they share. I like my workouts too. My boys enjoy classes, fun and great teachers. I appreciate family classes where we can be all together and share our time. We are here one month, but they learned a lot of ready. Well done and thank you.

Integrated Combat Centre - Martial Arts Peakhurst: what do users think?
Sasha Kuma: Great coaches and a real feeling of being part of a like minded team. Very enthusiastic and experienced coaches who have competed and won professionally in both in BJJ and Kick Boxing
G Fken Urbo: Great Gym very good people great trainer and a very welcome feeling love it here
Edward Lee: Both David and Steven are not only extremely knowledgeable about BJJ but also have the ability to break down the mechanics of the technique into bite-size pieces for the students. On top of all of this, their passion for the martial art resonates from them keeping everyone engaged and inspired, making them excellent coaches. The BJJ classes are filled with a technical learning, a drilling and sparing component. Making every class challenge your mental and physical ability, great on the mind and body!Overall the students are respectable, welcoming and well-mannered a reflection of the coaches.Only praise for what David and Steven have made.
Vanessa H: Best decision we made for our son! We have tried many sports and all ended in tears..signed him up to kids BJJ and he has never looked back. Excellent outlet for him to burn all his energy and learn discipline at the same time. Self defence in this crazy world too! We will be signing up our daughter when she is old enough for sure!Excellent coaches! Set up is fantastic. Nothing negative to say. Proud to be part of the ICC family
Sunj K: I signed up to the 2-wk trial for muay thai kickboxing. Classes were packed and not much guidance/attention is given for beginners. People weren’t very friendly nor keen to speak or help newcomers. There were no statements written anywhere about an automatic deduction from your card after the free trial so I was shocked when this happened. This wasn’t consensual nor transparent so it didn’t sit well with me.If this is the case, it should be written very clearly during the trial sign-up.I tried another gym in Penshurst and it was the opposite experience!
Kristian Ilievski: Great vibe and everyone is friendly and the sessions are really fun. Mario is a fantastic teacher and makes a great effort to make sure we’re learning and doing all the techniques correctly.
Sally Mclennan: Please let me pass my compliments and thanks on from our family to Mario who has, in a very short time, helped my son build confidence and overcome a fear of contact. A fabulous Center.
Md Anwar Uddin: My daughter has been going to ICC Peakhurst for over six months. Mario and Ann Marie are good trainers and teachers and very friendly, very important for us. MY daughter loves the place, she is getting more confident in life. Thank you ICC.
Katrina Westropp: My son has been learning kickboxing for about a year now and he enjoys every session, is always excited to return. Mario is a awesome trainer works great with the children. Very happy with ICC!
David Chen: I wanted my girls to learn self defense; build their confidence, friendship as well discipline. Also to have fun and respect the kickboxing as a sport. As a parent, I was worried for Leah if she will adapt well. The instructors are very professional, warm welcoming and friendly. Mario has a great teaching style tailored for kids with a sense of humour and always make the class interesting and make the kids laugh and participate in the lesson, included my wife. Ann-Maree is calm and always here to help the kids to catch up/follow tge class.Leah time to time practices what she learns on me. I can say she has a powerful round kick and her punch too. Compared from the before and after. Mario and Ann-Maree always have an ear for Leah's concern. Mario and Ann-Maree always give you a positive energy, make you feel a part of the ICC family and also a great patience towards kids. Me as a parent, to be honest i do have patience but limited but they; is another great level of patience. My wife told me that Leah wants to be the first student to go to the dojo so that she can talk to Mario and Ann-Maree (have them for herself and also to help Mario or Amaree. She always look forward for a star or a stripe. She is very competitive girl, I can see her progress (1st day till now) still has a lot to learn such as it is okay to lose. My 2nd daughter time to time practice kickboxing at home. The dojo is very tidy & clean. I strongly recommend Ingetrated Combat Centre for the whole family to join and be part of ICC Family.
Ivy Cheung: My son was really shy before, i didnt expect he is doing so well now, becuase of the coaches are care of what the parent needs.
Elite Supplements Castle Hill: The best place for Martial arts especially grappling in the area, the Culture is amazing & the instructors / members are very friendly.
lilkevo88: High level, high standard Gym, Two competition black belts and regular visiting black belts that encourage competition, but have absolutely no expectation to compete, I joined this gym as a hobbyist bjj practitioner with little experience and no fitness, just being apart of this team has helped me not only inside but also outside of the gym. If you're a bit of a degenerate looking for a mentor or guidance in aspects of life like me, I strongly encourage you to join ICC, the instructors not only train you in martial arts but go the extra mile with information and guidance on meal prep, strength and conditioning, weight training, mental conditioning and so much more. Being apart of this team has helped me better myself inside and outside of martial arts. I have slowly but surely brought myself to a higher standard in life and ICC is a huge part of this.
Katie H: Good facilities, great atmosphere! Great trainers, especially Ann-Marie, who keeps things challenging and motivating at the same time!
Vanessa Lai: I have been bringing my daughter for BJJ classes here for a year and a half and she loves it! Coach Mario and Aiden are great with the kids and ICC were very understanding and accommodating through lockdowns. I would definitely recommend ICC, it's like a big family.
Kyle Farah: Friendliest trainers ever. Amazing friendly environment. Instructors display respect to students, and enourage it to be shown between each other.Great place to train ! They make new people feel very comfortable !Mario is awesome 👍🏿
Brian: Learning martial arts at ICC was one of the best choice I have ever made. As you step into the centre, the atmosphere really makes you want improve on yourself. Once you get to know your instructors and peers, this is what makes ICC great. The community is super welcoming and makes you feel like you're part of one great big family. This makes learning so much fun and I have already learnt so much with my time at ICC. I highly recommend ICC to anyone wanting to learn martial arts.
Sandra Kepes: Absolutely amazing martial arts school! I was impressed on the first day when I saw Mario and Anne Marie teaching the kids! Mario incorporates humour and personal stories that the kids can learn from. They are strict, imparting discipline but they also have lots of fun. Leon has been going there for 4 years now and being a 9 year old it has taught him so many life skills. Leon had the opportunity to do leadership training there as well and as a mother and also teacher, I cannot be more proud of him if the skills he gained. He now also helps out when teaching the smaller kids. Amongst that group is now his little brother Indigo who also can’t get enough of the training sessions. They go 3 times per week and at times 4 and every time they come out of training, they are energised and so happy with the new tricks they learnt. There is no better place then ICC! Sandra
Serebruh Mai: very good place for learning kick boxing!
Loretta: It’s the best martial arts centre I have came across. My two boys love going to karate/kickboxing class, Sensei Mario makes the lesson fun and interesting and he is very good with kids. Love the experience!
Sohaib Ahmed: I love training here. The instructors are very knowledgeable and everyone makes a training partner here.

Flow Self Defence Academy: what do users think?
Alex Beasley: Extremely practical, real-world-relevant training you can start using from your first class. This isn’t about earning colourful belts or memorising complex choreographed sets of routine moves - it’s simply about leaning how to defend yourself with the maximum return for the minimum of effort, in any scenario. If you’ve maybe done other forms of martial arts and found the learning curve impractically long before it becomes actually useful - I can’t recommend George and the Flow Academy enough.
Joshua Chapman: Great classes! role playing with a knife, exceptional training which includes role playing scenarios. Thanks for the free trail!
Erica: The Self Defense taught at this academy is practical, and deals with real life scenarios. After 1 month of attending, I had learnt more about Self Defense than in 1 year of karate! The instructor George, has a well planned out session, that teaches us how to deal with punches, kicks, choking, knifes, baseball bats & even guns. I highly recommend everyone attend, even if it is for 6-12 months, to get some real life skills.

Sydney Self Defence Centre: what do users think?
Executive Goldstein: We had a wonderful experience with Chris and his team. It was very easy to book in a class session, and we all enjoyed it and found it extremely valuable. Would highly recommend Sydney Self Defence Centre without hesitation.
Bronwyn White: My 3 daughters have been learning Kung Fu here for the past year. It is a great school, that teaches self defence, confidence and values. There are so many martial arts academies in the Inner West. We chose this one for their sense of community. They also have sessions that we can attend 6 days a week and not commit to a particular day - we can attend as little or as much as we wish. I would highly recommend this school if you are comparing the inner west martial arts varieties.
Peter Boland: The Sydney Self Defence Centre has been my second home since I was 23 years old (2003).After trying many other martial arts I found that it really wasn't the martial art I practiced but the experience, understanding and professionalism of the instructors. Shifu has been a guiding light to me for my attitude, goals and outlook on life. The martial art Yi Quan is not a game nor a sport but a reality based system of real self protection and survival. Blend that with a motivating, fun and family dynamic and you have a place for life, where everyone who trains there and all of the black sashes are a family. We teach and help to give back, because we love what we do and to give back to Shifu and the Shibo's what they have given to us. There are many varieties of systems and teachers out there, nothing in my 17 years like what I have seen at the Sydney Self Defence Centre. Mental, Emotional and Physical empowerment. No ego's, No competitiveness, Just self improvement and reality based self protection and combat applications. There are no words that can express my gratitude or shear enjoyment that the centre gave me for all these years. If you truly want to be the best you can be and are willing to give it a go, make a change, then I can guarantee that you will find nothing like training at the Sydney Self Defence centre. Shifu and the instructors really care about your safety and your health. Put the time in here and it will not only make you a hard target for violence but turn you into a leader with confidence. You are always going to be a product of your environment, this is the place to be. High level Kung Fu training!Whatever reason you decide to give martial arts a try, health, fitness, weight loss, confidence or to learn a rare and effective style of Kung Fu. You will get more than money can buy.Kids or adults, This place will change your life, It changed mine.Big review, Big expectations! Go check it out for yourself.Thank you Shifu, Shijie, Shibo's and Shixiongs for helping me succeed in life. Thanks to all the students I have been able to train with, we all help each other:)Shifu, You are truly the best mentor I have ever seen. Thank you for everything.Nai XinShibo Peter Anthony BolandOntario Self Defence Centre, Canada

Martial Energy- Sydney's Best Karate Kickboxing Muaythai Judo & Jiu Jitsu School/Classes/Training: what do users think?
Tan L: Money grabbers, they don't care about you or your goals. Do not recommend!
Will Power: Been in the game for a while, Sensei ND is one of the few people I am happy to train under. I started to focus on weights instead of MMA in the lockdowns. Now my true passion for MMA is being reignited by a tested and proven warrior.
Nevena Grujic: Signed up for a 6 month membership, but quit after 3. Decided I'd rather pay a large exit fee than stay any longer.Few things to note:-The gym is closed during school holidays, but still require you to pay for your membership even though you can't train. This is not explictly stated in the contract so be aware.-During gradings, which occur for 1-2 weeks, most classes are cancelled, but you still pay the same fee for less than half the classes to be available to you. If you pay for a grading and fail, you lose your money and no re-grading is offered.-The gym is often closed due to competitions with little to no notice being made.-The upstairs gym is a great plus and often not used, but does not seem well-maintained. The speaker system was taken downstairs with no replacement made. On one occasion, I came to use the gym at night but the lights were not working, resulting in me having to go back home.Overall you will get a workout at this gym, but I cannot recommend it due to its money-hungry nature and unreliability when it comes to its own class schedule. You can find better for less elsewhere.
Wahid Wahid: Critical:QualityJust want to get your money that all keeps pushing and lying to charge you more
RAGGED: We've been going for a couple of years now, they're great with kids and it's been very beneficial to their development.
Jason Axiak: Friendly place, great teacher
Allen Damien: Great place to train at a d instructor is, amazing.
