Diana Reyes Flamenco: what do users think?
Thomas Hespe: Diana is the best, the real deal. highly recommended
Micaela Castro: Arranged directly with the teacher to take a class between me and another stranger since as a total beginner I couldn’t join the total beginners class. (Already a red flag?) When the other person cancelled I received an email 2 hours before the start of the class saying I couldn’t come either. I think if there is already a scheduled agreement (I planned my weekend already) then how can it get canceled ? By email... lack of professionalism, would not recommend. Sad since I was really looking forward to start...
Mariella Solano: Diana Reyes Flamenco studio is unlike any other. There is a sense of pride and community as soon as you enter the space. Anyone is always welcome and encouraged to join in at such a prestigious school of dance! Diana is so welcoming yet so professional and will help you find your way through her guidance and expertise.
Lili Misa: I consider Diana Reyes Flamenco studio to be the best in Sydney. Highly professional, with very high standards, and strict on technique, when it comes to interpreting traditional Flamenco! A student at this studio for almost four years. I started at beginners level with easy to follow choreography, and I've seen great improvement since. Diana Reyes Flamenco offers a great environment to learn Flamenco. Diana cares about her students and goes the extra mile to ensure that techniques are interpreted correctly. I feel privileged to be taught by a master. Diana has helped me a great deal with my development, and I can't thank her enough.
Dominique De Marco: Diana is a master. The classes are intimate and well structured for developing your technique at your own pace. Can’t recommend more highly!!
Katerina Sarlas: I have been a student of Diana Reyes Flamenco for many years and there is no where I would rather learn. Her tireless dedication to this beautiful and passionate art form is unparalleled. In class, Diana strives to bring out the best in her students teaching a powerful combination of expression, technique and musicality. She constantly contributes to the promotion and nurturing of the artform in Australia, organising workshops and classes with international dancers and musicians.Diana also producers fantastic shows that showcase her students, her exceptional choreography and her expertise in bringing flamenco guitar, song and dance together.I feel that my flamenco experience with Diana has allowed me to gain a greater understanding of dance, rhythm and music and Diana herself has helped my love for Flamenco grow.
Lena Clementine: Having come from a “no dance” background I was a little nervous about starting classes but was immediately put to ease by the wonderful community of dancers at the studio. Diana is a master of flamenco and she teaches with the upmost respect and admiration for the art form, it is truly inspiring. I love her classes very much.
Maceo Gillies: Diana Reyes is an excellent teacher with so much knowledge and understanding of pure Flamenco. She has done so much to cultivate Flamenco in Australia over so many years putting on shows, performances and bringing out high calibre Flamenco artists from Spain.I have been with been with Diana for 5 years, and she has helped me improve and push myself as a dancer and helped me on my way to going to Spain to studyHer classes are awesome ! Strong technique, rhythmic, beautiful choreographies and helpful instruction and direction. A must for building a strong foundation and understanding !Expect to work hard :)Saludos Diana ! MaestraMaceo
Lydie Petit: Diana Reyes brings a strong wealth of experience from Spain and teaches authentic flamenco. I highly recommend Diana Reyes' studio if you're looking for the best place to learn the art of pure flamenco and acquire an excellent technique.
Nicole Baldinu: The best flamenco classes I've ever taken- and I've taken a lot of them over the years, and all over the world. Literally. This is where it's at if you want to start your journey with flamenco or improve massively. I joined Diana's studio almost two years now and I'm so glad I did. I've learned so much and it keeps getting better and better!
Maryland Misa: I have been a student at Diana Reyes Flamenco school for the last 3-4 years and have learnt so much about this amazingly beautiful and challenging art form. It is a great place for people of all levels of fitness with beginners to advanced classes and also short workshops. Also, a great place to meet new people.Diana is an excellent teacher with a great passion for Flamenco and her students.I strongly recommend Diana Reyes Flamenco school to everyone.
Dejan Kocovski: Dodgy place, excellent performance.

The Sydney Flamenco Studio: what do users think?
Stephanie Olivera: I highly recommend the Sydney Flamenco Studio. Chachy is an amazing teacher, as she inspires you to find your inner flamenco passion. The technique classes are great for building up your flamenco foundations and strength but my favourite are the choreography classes as Chachy’s jaleos bring you goosebumps! The studio feels like my second home where I meet regularly with friendly faces. Dancers of all levels are supported and encouraged.
ningyi Zhang: Great experience!!!!!
Jose Vasquez: definitely, the top place to learn flamenco, chachy’s an exceptional teacher. The environment is great and everyone is chill. if you haven’t tried flamenco, I do recommend it, it's fun, energetic, and a great workout. Enjoying my flamenco journey very much. :)
Mayda Diaz: This is high level training. Weather you are a Beginner, an Advanced or anything in between, you will be gotten out the best of you with outstanding tuition and adaptation to your personal situation... but at the same time, the fun of working as a group will make you constantly come back for more. At the TSFS we dance, feel, learn, work hard, get inspired... and inspire.
C C: I’m so happy I found this studio! Chachy and her students are welcoming and enthusiastic. I instantly felt accepted into the group. The classes were at a good pace, instruction was clear and wow how thrilling it feels after completing a class. Flamenco is definitely not for the faint hearted, but classes here are so energetic and satisfying! I look forward to joining more classes and I can highly recommend this to anyone considering class here. Thanks Chachy!
Kitty Soutar: The studio is a wonderful place for students of every level to explore the world of flamenco. Chachy is one of those rare and memorable teachers it’s hard to find in any part of life, let alone flamenco! She brings passion, dedication, amazing skill and warmth to her teaching and she fosters the same thing in her students. Come and join us!
Fleur Denny: Having now been studying for 4 years at the Sydney Flamenco Studio now, it is still the best decision i have made. (i did a review 3 years ago) I have grown so much not only as a dancer but as a person. The other students and Chachy have a a passion and desire to learn and improve , and i love it. During these uncertain times Flamenco gives us some calm and normality. Gracias for creating a safe and inspiring environment to let go 💃❤️💃❤️💃❤️😁
Melanie Tu: There is no better place to learn this challenging yet beautiful art form. Chachy Peñalver is an amazing teacher, highly professional and truly inspiring. She has so much to give whilst at the same time pushing you to try your hardest. I highly recommend her classes whether you’re an absolute beginner or experienced dancer. What’s more the studio is a special place with a wonderful community where everyone is welcome. It is your home away from home. Sydney is blessed to have this studio.
Katie Moyle: As someone lucky enough to have spent the last several years learning this incredible art form, both at various schools here in Sydney as well as in Spain, I cannot speak highly enough of Chachy's school. Chachy is by far one of the most talented dancers I've ever seen perform (and I've seen quite a few!), so to be able to learn from her and be inspired by her feels really special. I've been learning with her for a few years now and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. She's supportive, super articulate and precise in her instructions, and she knows how to push you to your edges when necessary in order to get the best out of you as a dancer. I also adore the sense of community you feel among all of the students as everyone is super lovely and welcoming. If you're curious to learn what Flamenco is about, I'd definitely recommend TSFS as a great place to start. It's perfect for absolute beginners as well! Vamos! Ole! :)
Cassia Jurcevic: I first saw Chachy perform over 5 years ago and she ignited the desire for me to learn flamenco. She brings the same passion, intensity and warmth to class as what I've seen in her performances. Flamenco is exhilirating and leaves me feeling envigorated after class. The absoloute beginners class is great for people of all different levels of experience, with an encouraging atmosphere!
Sheree Bazzi: Chachy is amazing! Starting Flamenco as a beginner can be a daunting experience but her technique and patience with each class member makes the classes so much easier to follow and I couldn't recommend this place enough. Love the vibe and the people!
frank merino: I strongly encourage anyone wanting to learn the art of Flamenco to come and learn from Chachy Peñalver at The Sydney Flamenco Studio.Chachy's classes are extremely fun, she makes everyone feel comfortable and encourages every student to do their best in the kindest way. Chachy is a pure inspirational teacher, highly professional and an AMAZING dancer. Watching her dance is in itself an inspiration to try harder!
Michelle Cervonaro: The Sydney Flamenco Studio is the most authentic and professional studio to learn about this beautiful art form. Chachy is a teacher who gives so much and never ceases to inspire!!
Stephanie B: Chachy has created a wonderful and nurturing place for dancers. The studio offers high quality instruction at all levels that is challenging, accessible and fun.
Rachael Melky: Such an amazing studio! Chachy is a beautiful and inspriring teacher. Highly recommend learning here. It’s a very welcoming and enouraging environment. The closest thing to being in Spain. Sydney is blessed to have this studio.
Abi Martinez Silva: I will start saying that Chachy is an AMAZING teacher! ♥ because she is. The studio is lovely and the vibe is fantastic. The classes are everything I hoped for and more. GRACIAS Sydney Flamenco Studio. x
Heartdancers Charity: Not everyone has the gift of teaching, you could be a great Bailaora but to pass the light, talent and the heart to someone else is an ART.. Chachy is not only an outstanding Bailaora, she has a "gift", she is a great teacher "maestra"I just want to thank her with my heart all she has given me since I started my journey with her. I can see my body dancing to the language of the soul, that goes beyond the exquisite technique she transmits in her classes.. I'm so grateful to be part of the Sydney Flamenco Studio my family.. I love you Chachy bella de aqui hasta el infinito...Sandra Morales
Isabel Montoya-Perez: Chachy is an amazing teacher - always patient but not afraid to push you!If you're a seasoned dancer or brand new to flamenco no doubt you will learn alot from Chachy!
Alessandra Pecci: Chachy is one of those rare creative gifts that life and the arts blesses humanity with. As a TEACHER, she pushes students to their most expressive physical, emotional, spiritual limits, and has a unique and special ability to nurture our technical as well as artistic formation with an eye for detail and a flare for discipline. She has a special way of cultivating our own individual freedom of expression and interpretation of flamenco, of being fearless in movement and form, whilst staying true to the roots of the artform. As a PERFORMER, Chachy is dynamite! All that she preaches in the studio manifests on stage. You gotta see it to believe it! And finally, what makes the TEACHER and the PERFORMER is the HUMAN, and a splendour at that Chachy is! It takes a pretty remarkable human to have created the Sydney Flamenco Studio that exists today, a labour of love, dedication, vision, and custodianship of this incredible artform. Chachy has invested her heart and soul in strengthening and growing the artform in Australia, in fostering a new generation of flamenco dancers downunder. And she’s come all the way from Venezuela to make it happen. That alone takes incredible courage and vision. The studio is more than a room with mirrors and four walls – it’s a community, a family, of devoted and passionate artists who are beautifully supportive of one another. Every evening, as you step inside the studio, your day’s perils, troubles, stresses, are left outside the door. In here you are free, sentient, and boundless. It’s a place where you can strip off your mask, dig deep, explore what’s within. It’s a special environment. Inclusive. Healing. Therapeutic. Also incredibly comical and entertaining – Chachy’s sense of humour is a force in itself and fits of laughter during class are a common thing! It’s the perfect blend of introspectiveness, creative discovery, and light-heartedness at the end of a day. It doesn’t stop there though: the journey of flamenco is a long and arduous one, but one so worth living and being part of! If there’s passion, dedication, love, belief, the journey reaps invaluable rewards. Couple that with the environment, and importantly the teacher, that journey becomes even more magical and fulfilling. For many of us, the Sydney Flamenco Studio is now part of that great journey. A home. Open to all of us who are hungry to ‘dream with our bodies’, as Cha so brilliantly puts it! We're lucky to have Chachy and the Studio :)
Maria Gonzalez: I am an absolutely beginner student of Chachy, so it is early days for me. However I quickly realised that I wanted to do two lessons per week, as I'm getting a massive kick out of it, it's so much fun! For me Flamenco is an elegant, deep and also a beautiful art form. To be taught by an excellent teacher as Chachy, I think myself to be a very fortunate girl! I definitely recommend The Sydney Flamenco Studio.
Yoriko Mizuno: You hate Mondays? Have flamenco lessons on Mondays at The Sydney Flamenco Studio, then you'll always look forward to Mondays like I do!!I'm so glad that I found such a great teacher like Chachy.

Seymour Centre: what do users think?
Mitchell Boyan: Concerts
Warren James McCowage: The genuine cultural centre of Sydney. Bus stops literally 'at the door'. Comfortable seating. Bar service.
Jo-Anne Curry: Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Fabulous experience!
Dave: Awesome !! 👌
Kathryn Hammond: Hadn't been here for years, but found the parking easy, the venue great. The cafe was pretty average though.
Elizabeth McGee: Nice venue - 2hr parking outside on the streets
Keith Hong: Great venue for concerts. Not much of a character but it's one of the few venues that offer venue.of varying capacity
lachlan harris: A wonderful, light theatre, we saw Polish pianist, Hania Rani, with nice drink options before the performance. The centre offers a good range of events and concerts, worthwhile taking the kids, too. When they offer children's events.
Marc Radomsky: I wrote to the Seymour centre to express my extreme dissatisfaction at the painful and blinding lighting rig that accompanied Hania Rani’s excellent concert last nightDuring large swathes of the performance the Intense floodlights were left shining directly into the eyes of the audience, and at other times - the larger multi- spots likewise were turned on the audience - and left in position - blinding us for long periods of timeTruly it was like getting the 3rd degree in a movie interrogation.I got a sharp headache, my wife sat blocking her eyes , and many many audience members were forced to do likewiseWhile the lighting designer/ operator was part of Hania’s team, I had thought, as the venue and curators of the concert - that the Seymour Centre team should be assessing these situations during the set up and lighting check and impose a more rigorous and safer standard of practice that takes audience comfort and indeed OH&S concerns into consideration. I actually went up to him after the show to alert him to how uncomfortable and indeed painful his lighting was at times - I got a distinctly rude brush off with a “ I either do that and have a show or not so I'm sorry but leave me alone” I note I was not the only patron so moved to approach himThe entire concert was ruined for sections of the audience - and that is a shame indeed. The Centre has since advised that they have no purview in these matters and that placement of stage lights rests solely with the production company. It's a sad irony indeed then that a lighting designer such as this - who only has his job because audiences pay to come and see the concerts - has such little regard for Audience comfort and safety. How complicated could it be to alter the angle of those floor spots by less than 20 % - to ensure they don't shine directly into the eyes of the audience ? Or keep them moving at least so they don't do likewise.
L C: 2023 Queer Review absolutely slayed! We have never laughed so hard. Highlights were Bob The Builder and Nicholas Uncaged. Special mention to the Crab Hotel. The venue was spacious, vibrant, had lots of staff there to help with seating and delicious snacks too.
uzi abbasi: My first time here to see a play.great experience and the play was fantastic 😊.I will return.the hall was cool.the acting was superb.i was disturbed by a intolerant woman.i was opening my fast eating peanuts quietly, and my neighbors were not disturbed but she was so irritated that she tapped me and said stop it.why so intolerant ?
Rodney Massoud: Getting a bit tired and old
Ann Schelle: Great shows
Jamtia: Great venue. Looking forward to seeing another show here.
Johnny Whitehead: The Seymour Centre puts on great showsIt has multiple stages and very easy access for us with disabilities, there is a great preshow bar for snacks or a drink 🥃.You need to keep up with what’s on and experience what is on and see some amazingly talented actors.
STEPHEN MCCLUNG: This theatre complex, so easily accessible by bus from Central, delivers theatre-on-the-edge superbly. In Victoria Park opposite, an eating venue in a previous gatehouse (?), offers delicious Mediterranean meals of a respectable size pre-theatre… both are highly recommended. I travel 2&1/2 hrs from Newcastle for Sydney theatre, and both these venues are favourites…👍
Richard Green: Good multi venue theatre complex in Newtown, associated with University of Sydney.
Brano: I was looking forward to the theatre and the performance but unfortunately we were forced to leave after half an hour due to extremely strong air conditioning blowing arctic temperatures directly on our heads. My joints were frozen after 20 minutes. In addition, we sat in a 5th row and for an unknown reason the first few rows from the stage aren't elevated. There were two tall gentlemen sitting in a row ahead and they blocked 70% of my view.As a result, my theatre experience was terrible and I had no other option but to leave shortly after the play started. I spoke to their customer service team but they were totally unhelpful. It seems they did it on purpose. So do yourself a favor and choose any other theatre in Sydney, it'll certainly be better experience for you and your family.
Tim Morrison: Post performance PaRTy in full swing.. Aperol Spritz thanks for supporting WorldPride events ....
in hac lacrimarum Vale: Easy accessVery helpful staff.Beware of the bathrooms which are now labelledSTANDING and SITTING which is really confusing until you understand it.
David Jonas: William Yang's wonderful stories and photographs made for a very special evening.

The Old 505 Theatre: what do users think?
Tom Hatfield: Great space for Sydney Fringe Festival. Only negative is stairs from street level are not handicapped accessible.
Alexander Fessenko: Fabulous small venue for live jazz at the heart of Newtown.
Stephen Sewell: Brilliant performance space run by some of the smartest people in Sydney theatre
Stephen Cotterill: Lovely intimate atmosphere and genuinely friendly staff!
Tom Massey: Brilliant evening! 🙂
Raz Van Paul: Loved the theatre and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks!
Kitchen Insider: Do you have a voice? No, not the one we all long to hear from your shower...the one that speaks up when something bad happens..this place has supported young and fringe greatness for as long as I've realised that the entire planet isn't exactly all about me...or 17 years. Last night we saw an array of young jazz musicians that would stand out anywhere...I spoke to several people with American accents, and they all confirmed how this place in the states would be funded heaps...but here? Our government gives money by the truckload to Sydney theatre company, but zero here...and people like me already sell out stc at huge ticket prices. So go here if you're around the next two weeks. And give yourself a good talking to in the mirror about how you let this place disappear, coz picking up the phone to the ministers office is a waste of time.
Karina Bright: Great space for a jazz concert!
Elsen Price: Best jazz venue in Sydney
Jarrod Wolhuter: Old 505 offers allows for a very personal, intimate, and interactive live music experience. The staff are fantastic in facilitating this through their diligence around the personal experience.COVID safety is clearly a priority but this does not affect the audience experience. The bar selection is vast and it’s a literal two minute walk from bustling Newtown TS.The busyness of Newtown ebbs away as punters are engulfed by the ambience and aptitude of 505.**Should be named 5/5 as an exceptional venue!
Denise Ghisleri: Good service and the concert was very good!
Matt Donazzan: One of the coolest small music venues in Sydney.
Nam B: So great to have this community theatre getting back to live shows despite covid-restrictions. This is a true gem of Sydney! Awesome line-up of theatre and music, a must visit!
Peter Rodrigues: Saw a great show. Very Covid aware
Debbie Champion: The Old 505 Theatre is wonderful. Unique.
Shantnu Kumar: One of the must beautiful and intimate venues in Sydney
Harlee Timms: Wonderful performance space and a great atmosphere
O M: Small amateur theatre. Lovely service and vintage atmosphere
B Gates: Wonderful community theater! Handsome, stately, historic building, a bar, cool patrons. We saw inaugural performance of play "Normal" by Katie Pollock. So glad we visited 505.
Alan Skipper: Great play showing from today.. brilliant and thaught provoking
Geoffrey Turner: The show "Table for two " was great and suited the venue. The young lady behind the bar was brilliant as well, serving drinks, directing patrons and being very pleasant

ROSHAN W: Very disappointing experience for my 40th birthday, after months of planning and organising transport and hotels I thought this would be an ideal place for dinner as the banquet menu is $60pp. What the manager failed to tell me that they would hit me up for the bill to be paid in one full amount on the night. They even asked my guests to settle the bill for the whole table when two of them tried to leave. While the food and entertainment was great this spoiled my night as I was not prepared for a $900 bill. Next time you should let people know this is a requirement and give them the option to prepay. It's also not hard in this day and age to let people tap their card.
