Alexsandro Lugli: Amazing team .
Ali Merhi: Great instructors, welcoming environment and fantastic training partners. The best part is that the higher belts are always supportive to lower belts and go out of their way to help them.
TK Tang: This is a fantastic and supportive gym by kind but tough teachers who pay attention to you and ensure you improve your skills from nothing to being able apply it within less than a month. It's an exhausting sport but very rewarding. I personally will be glad to have spent my time here and actually don't have anything at all to suggest as improvements.

Martial Energy- Sydney's Best Karate Kickboxing Muaythai Judo & Jiu Jitsu School/Classes/Training: what do users think?
Tan L: Money grabbers, they don't care about you or your goals. Do not recommend!
Will Power: Been in the game for a while, Sensei ND is one of the few people I am happy to train under. I started to focus on weights instead of MMA in the lockdowns. Now my true passion for MMA is being reignited by a tested and proven warrior.
Nevena Grujic: Signed up for a 6 month membership, but quit after 3. Decided I'd rather pay a large exit fee than stay any longer.Few things to note:-The gym is closed during school holidays, but still require you to pay for your membership even though you can't train. This is not explictly stated in the contract so be aware.-During gradings, which occur for 1-2 weeks, most classes are cancelled, but you still pay the same fee for less than half the classes to be available to you. If you pay for a grading and fail, you lose your money and no re-grading is offered.-The gym is often closed due to competitions with little to no notice being made.-The upstairs gym is a great plus and often not used, but does not seem well-maintained. The speaker system was taken downstairs with no replacement made. On one occasion, I came to use the gym at night but the lights were not working, resulting in me having to go back home.Overall you will get a workout at this gym, but I cannot recommend it due to its money-hungry nature and unreliability when it comes to its own class schedule. You can find better for less elsewhere.
Wahid Wahid: Critical:QualityJust want to get your money that all keeps pushing and lying to charge you more
RAGGED: We've been going for a couple of years now, they're great with kids and it's been very beneficial to their development.
Jason Axiak: Friendly place, great teacher
Allen Damien: Great place to train at a d instructor is, amazing.

Dane Morris: My 6 year old takes the kids class 5 days a week. He gets top level training from a former UFC fighter for $30 a week. You can't beat that on any level!
Australia World: This place is OK I suppose. Some of the students smell a bit. No names though *cough*brendancarroll*cough* Seriously, the coach is one of the best in Australia!

Higher Jiu Jitsu: what do users think?
Sam Alderton-Johnson: When I came to higher jiu jitsu I found a new way of learning jiu jitsu that was more inline with the philosophy of the martial art for me where things were less about sport and competing and more about the mechanics, leverage and connection. But what has been the most significant retention for me in the art has been watching my children learn and grow through jiu jitsu, learning lessons in resilience on and off the mats and to feel like I am ensuring they learn the most practical of life saving skills along the way.I guess what I am saying is, it’s so important for us to find our hobbies and things we can still ‘play’ particuarly as we get older. Too much of our life can get caught up in a work home sleep repeat cycle. If your a professional based in and around the Sydney CBD do yourself a massive favour and reach out to John Smallios and the team at Higher Jiu Jitsu - I started doing there lunchtime classes many years ago as a professional in the city and was the best was to spend a lunch break in Sydney city! No my whole family learns BJJ here, i cant recommend it anymore highly to anyone.
Titus: Been training with the team at HigherJJ since last year.+ Great team atmosphere (many socials)+ People are friendly and respectful+ Coaches care a lot about safety, hygiene, and students' learning+ There's always bonus things going on, eg. wrestling classes, judo classes, and seminars with big names+ Structured curriculum, which significantly helps learning and progressThe only con is- Space, it could be biggerSeems like many who join HJJ tend to stick around for all the good vibes here.Shoutout to John, Matty, Danny and AJ for running sick classes, and every member for making the place an awesome place to train.
Garth Mc Intosh: I joined Higher Jiu Jitsu nine months ago and I am blown away by the quality of training and instruction I have received. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by the team and the members. The gym itself is clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything you need to train at the highest level. The instructors are knowledgeable, experienced, and patient and they take the time to work with each student individually to help them improve their technique and achieve their goals. The classes are well-structured and challenging, but also fun and engaging. I leave each class feeling inspired and motivated. What I love most about this gym is the sense of community and camaraderie that exists among the members. Everyone is supportive and encouraging.Overall, I would highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to improve their skills, get in shape, and join a supportive and welcoming community of like-minded individuals. Five stars all around!
Ameya Hattangadi: Been training at Higher for around 8 months now and I couldn’t be happier. All the coaches are very knowledgeable, supportive and dedicated to helping each student improve, regardless of skill level. In addition to regular classes, the gym also offers a range of seminars, which provide opportunities to learn from some of the top Jiu Jitsu practitioners in the world. I've already attended a couple of these events, and they've been incredibly informative and inspiring.Overall, I would highly recommend Higher Jiu Jitsu to anyone looking to learn Jiu Jitsu.
Manan Panchmatia: John is an incredible teacher! He makes sure everyone feels welcome and part of the group. Also, Higher has a very supportive and positive community which was conducive to growth and learning.
G G: If you're tossing up whether to give martial arts/BJJ a try, just do it! This is the best place to go.Coach John and his team are a beautiful group of people who have created a philosophy and community that makes everyone feel like they belong here. No matter what your aim is, you'll find what you're looking for.
Frazer Nowell: Five stars for Higher Jiu Jitsu! Only had a month here and it was my first time learning Jiu Jitsu, everybody was so welcoming and it felt like a family as I attended more and more sessions. John the coach was very friendly and couldn’t have asked for a better introduction from him. Great, friendly place and would recommend to anyone.
Madhav Nath: I've been going here for about 7 months now and all I can say is John and his team of coaches are absolute legends. It was so easy to start with them and they've made me feel like family. Even though I initially started at their Sydenham branch, I have continued to make the effort to go to their main hub in the city (Woolloomooloo) even though during this time I actually moved further away.At the end of the day it is a martial art and it comes its own risks, but the team make sure everything we do is in a controlled manner with proper instruction and technique! If you're sitting on the fence and want to try out Brazilian Jiu Jitstu for the first time, or just want to get back into it, I cannot recommend HJJ highly enough. From seasoned veterans to absolute newbies like me, they will cater to all and make everyone feel incredibly welcome to the HJJ family. And there is nothing better than starting your day on the mats where you get to learn new techniques, practice older ones and just get to interact with a whole bunch of legends! 5-stars all around!!
Belynda Gioumidis: John is not just an AMAZING human but equally an AMAZING coach and mentor, he has had a vital role in my sons learning and journey and to train with him and learn through him BJJ is an honour. Some of our greatest memories are there on the mat along with all the awesome students and other teachers - highly recommend all to be part of the HIGHER family - thank you John
Bruce Sweeney: Hands down the best place to train BJJ in Sydney. Top quality, well thought out instruction. Great community too.
Kelvin Clulee: John is a very technical coach and explains things well.I was welcomed as a visitor and treated very well by the Higher Jiujitsu team. Thanks John and co.
Sophie S: I started at Higher as a complete beginner about 7 months ago, wanting to try something new but with no idea whether or not I’d enjoy it. I pretty much picked it because the location and timetable worked out for me. I feel like I completely lucked out picking Higher - the coaching team are so supportive and full of energy (even during the 6.30am sessions…) and the other members of the club have been so welcoming. The more I train, the more I love this place. Highly recommend.
MMAFun: Great instruction and atmosphere.Very welcoming crowd.
shern tai: Welcoming and safe to train
Cameron McLean: In 5 short months the team at Higher have changed my world. Coming to BJJ as an older beginner I needed a supportive environment both on & off the mats, which is exactly what you get here. Private training sessions have been an awesome way to lift my confidence. Most importantly, coach John makes you feel you are part of something bigger. If you are even remotely curious about this amazing martial art, this is your place. Six stars!
Daniel Kenny: Awesome training with great instruction and a great group of people. Will definitely be back!
Andy: Awesome place to train! I trained here for about 6 months while I was living in Sydney short term. John and the whole crew were very welcoming and friendly, and taught great Jiu Jitsu in a relaxed environment. Will definitely be stopping by when I am back in town. Oss!
Natasha Suhendar: The best place there is to learn Jiu Jitsu✨ Attentive and informative coaches and you get to meet an amazing community of people!
Simona Mastropietro: Higher Jiu Jitsu is one of the best choices l made. After a lot of time, it's the only activity that gives me motivation to participate. The enviroment is very friendly and trainers, as well as people with a higher level, are always supportive and ready to help and explain again something if not completely clear. As a woman, l decided to start also because I believe it's important having skills of self defence.Thank you Higher Jiu Jitsu!
Lap Chieu: I came up from Melbourne looking to visit a club to train and meet some new people, and was warmly welcomed by John and his students.I admired John's teaching techniques which were easy to follow and effective. Even the warm up surprised me, with a focus on breathing and body awareness, which helped with techniques later.A very cool club I will definitely visit again!
Liam Bacon: Awesome place, Danny was a legend, cool guy, great coach and happy to take time out after class to help

Highly recommended to check this place out!
martinacostasarasa: Lovely People great place go train!
Robin Kim: Have been training at OS for 2 months now and it’s by far one of the best places to really level up. Coaches focus on the detail and mechanics of each technique and as someone who’s been training for a while the feedback they give has been invaluable.
Mission Wealth: Been training at OS for the last 3 years and have nothing but great things to say. The facilities and classes are really top notch. Its always been a really friendly and supportive place to go too, especially as someone who was starting out in martial arts with no experience at all. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking about getting in to MA.

udvk009: Best place to train at city . Loved the lunch time bjj classes . Very open and welcoming environment. Brian Liew: The coach Jordan is very detailed in the technical aspects of the training. Each round was kept interesting. The pads can do a bit of refreshing though. A little too worn out even for the beginners.
Lachlan Carrig: Open Sparring brings together the highest quality training, facilities, location and coaches you could find in an MMA gym.

Daeva Aarna: *convenient location - CHECK *extensive timetable options - CHECK*well priced - CHECK *pictures with natural smiles - CHECKJordan & Michael have brought together an amazing team of coaches with unique styles. All of whom are an absolute joy to learn from.Walking into Open Sparring 18months ago was one of the best decisions I ever made! Thinking I'd manage maybe 2-4 sessions a week (HA!) within weeks I was attending 1 session a day and in months I was doing double sessions on some days. That training high was the best start to my day and after a full day at work a class at open sparring was just what the doctor ordered. My favourite element of Open Sparring is the culture. Friendly and welcoming is an under statement! There is always someone greeting you with a smile, be it a coach or a fellow student. There is something special about a gym that is happy to spar together and then head out for a meal together!
Freddy Santos: Positive:ProfessionalismGreat place to train. Friendly vibe and coaches are extremely helpful.
Sean Subeathar: I have been training jiu jitsu at Open Sparring for a good few months now, after a training in the UK for just under a year and a half, but having not trained consistently since September 2019. It's a great environment, every instructor runs a good class with a lot of different styles taught. All the members are very welcoming and having tried out a few gyms in Sydney, I am extremely happy I settled on Open Sparring ! Cheers guys ✋👊 Oss! 🤙

Takingstock Health & Fitness: I joined SJJA in July 2020, just after lockdown, having hear how good BJJ was I needed to try it for myself. The school was very welcoming, from the instructors to the the students. The beginners classes are great, your often match with an appropriate partner which is amazing. The classes flow, building on lesions taught from the previous week, meaning even if you get to 1-2 session in a week you will have a good foundation of what BJJ is.The school is very clean and I feel there is a lot of value for the money. On avg I attend 3-4 times per week and could not be happier. Class timetable is great allowing for full time workers and even early rises.I would recommend to anyone, children, women and men.

Donna K: My son joined Gracie parramatta and he absolutely loves it.George has been great teaching him and he has learnt so much.He can’t wait to get back there every day.I highly recommend Gracie Ju- Jitsu parramatta.
JJ N: Kindra is an amazing coach for the little kids. Avoid Saturday 9AM classes as the group is massive, and there's not enough staff to keep an eye on every one.
HEATHY B01: only trained for a little bit but was made welcome bye all would definetlty return in future 😁👍
AJ W: Great Gym - great team - George and Jairson excellent teachers
P L: Great coaches, beautiful environment, Friendly and passionate vibes, feels like home.
Skye Bryant: I did a trial class at Gracie Parramatta six weeks ago as I'd always been curious about jiu-jitsu. From the moment I stepped in the door, the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The trainers are the perfect mix between friendly and professional. I signed up immediately after my trial class and I have no regrets. I'd recommend Gracie to anyone interested in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Andrew Choi: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat place to learn jiu jitsu with friendly close community and amazing instructors
Vicky Yu: Positive:Professionalism
Nathan Torres: Gracie Parramatta is the best place i have trained Martial arts.I have trained in various Martial arts most of my life.I have been training at Gracie Parramatta for the past 2 years.Jairson and George are amazing coaches and they alway make me feel welcome and apart of the team. With their years of experience they are a world full of knowledge. If you are thinking of trying Jiu Jitsu this is the place to start.Everyone will make you feel welcome and there is no expectation for newbies. The facility is great and very clean with 2 mats to train on with various types of classes from Beginner to Advanced and self defence.I always enjoy myself at Gracie Parramatta.
Bryan P: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat Jiu-Jitsu gym! Gracie Parramatta has excellent instructors with George and Jairson who are extremely welcoming and who are extremely proficient with their Jiu-Jitsu. The place has great facilities and everyone is very friendly and helpful.
Angie Tran: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat experience and life lessons for young kids, boys and especially girls. My boys love it and look forward to going every week.
Jackson Siskovic: Positive:Quality,ValueReally great place to learn bjj, George and Jairson are amazing coaches and all members are friendly and welcoming.
Mr P H: The best place to develop and learn Jiu Jitsu. in Sydney. They are welcoming from the moment you walk in the door which usually for most is the hardest step. But once you begin you will ask like everyone else what life was like before it. Get expert instruction from not only one black belt Head Coach but two with a great support network behind them. They have literally made Jiu Jitsu family friendly and for everyone. Very accomodating to everyone and just overall amazing people to develop and learn with. Best decision I’ve ever made hands down and highly recommend to anyone wanting to try it out, you wont regret it
abdullah “ ” alabdi: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,ValueI have been training with Gracie parramatta for over a month now. I’am loving the process, it has a really great environment! with a very great coach’s. I highly recommended people trying it.
Social Web: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGood instructors and good atmosphere. Highly recommended
Mic Mic: Positive:Communication,Quality,ValueVery welcoming trainers are great would recommend people bringing there kids here to train very happy
Anthony Cureton: Very welcoming.
Ash Houshmand: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat atmosphere, positive, very friendly and family oriented environment. Kids and I love it!...
Matty Clarke: You couldn’t ask for a more inviting place to learn and develop the skills of Jiu Jitsu, a truly welcoming space from the moment you walk in with a cool reception area featuring uniforms, merch, drinks, snacks and a decent lounge area I admit to have sat on after class just hanging out with friends. For myself being an absolute beginner the hardest part was just turning up, Jairson and George made me feel part of the family as soon as I arrived and this flowed through to supporting coach Ryan and all the way through to the crew I trained with in the class, you get the feeling every single person is happy to see you there. Each session is broken up into a warm-up, skills and drill then ‘rolling’, with the full hour being committed to learning means the value of the time here is spent on developing us in BJJ.With kids classes I’m super keen to see my little bloke get involved and a timetable that caters for the ladies as well (with both mixed and ladies only classes) Gracie Parramatta have a training space that really is for everyone.Gracie Parramatta has become my training family, and I hope by reading this it can become yours.See you on the mats.

Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts: what do users think?
E Au: Great place to train BJJ and Thai kickboxing - I joined right after covid lockdown ended and it's been one of the best things I've done. Anthony and his team of coaches are amazing teachers and everyone here (coaches and other students) are wonderfully welcoming.
Jesse Landry: Anthony Perosh has been my martial arts coach and mentor for nearly 20 years.Beginning as a white belt in 2004, I trained, competed, and fought under his tutelage, and was part of the gym during his fighting days at the highest levels of martial arts competition including the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship).I'm incredibly proud to have been awarded my black belt under him, as well as the guidance and support he's provided me in developing into an instructor myself.Team Perosh has always cultivated a warm, inclusive, and welcoming environment that assists people in achieving their goals.Through the gym I've created many long lasting friendships along with a gratitude and appreciation for the world class instruction provided.
Alex Riccio: Cool environment with a easy to talk to coach. Definetly would recommend team Perosh if your looking to start your journey
Luc La Rossa: Incredible teaching staff that create such a welcoming environment for all students. Worth every cent
J: Amazing gym, my son’s second home and family. Jiu Jitsu has changed my son’s life and given him so much confidence, discipline and strength.
sinjara: Just had my first session at Team Perosh, the staff members and training sessions were second to none. Very accommodating and knowledgeable team at Perosh. Can't wait for my next class!
Kevin P: Team Perosh MMA changed my life!
Shahab GH: Great facility with amazing coaches. I was looking for a martial arts gym for quite some time since I moved houses and finally found a place that feels like home!
Rory Ambrose: Team Perosh in Five Dock is a well-run gym with coaches of the highest levels of experience. Head coach Anthony is experienced as they come, with history as a UFC veteran and a continuing world-class resume in jiu jitsu. Other coaches include current fighters from organisations such as ONE FC, Eternal MMA, Brace FC and more. In my experience as a student in Team Perosh's Muay Thai kickboxing and jiu jitsu classes, I can say that my passion for martial arts has found an outlet in this gym. I recommend Team Perosh for its community, high-level training and professionalism.
Christina Tran: Perfect place to learn martial arts! The facilities are clean, they have a huge carpark and most importantly, all the staff are incredibly supportive and friendly. Coach AP and his team are highly skilled and inspirational, their teaching methods are easy to learn and highly effective. Would definitely recommend
Mexican Sole: I joined with no experience in any MMA and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. Anthony is so welcoming as are the amazing coaches that he has on his team. I recommend anyone and everyone give it a go you’ll be hooked right away!
Never too old to learn: Good people, excellent instructors.
AG Kelly: I’ve been training at Team Perosh almost a year. The coaches are amazing and the culture is great.Have always felt very welcome from Day 1 - and love the no DHs policy. Both coaches and trainers are all there to get the most out of each other. My only regret is not joining up sooner!
El Chappo: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueIncredible, professional and clean gym with world class coaches that are both experienced and passionate, cannot recommend this place enough !!
Cooba Health: Great gym, best BJJ gym in Sydney and nice coaches. If you want to be a fighter or just learn self defense and meet great people come to this gym. They have a huge carpark and brand new bathrooms with showers. It's a massive gym with lots of mat space, you wont have to worry about bumping into anyone while rolling.
Angus Blackwell: I started my training at Team Perosh in March 2016. Almost 4 years and a purple belt later and I can safely say it was one of the best decisions of my life. I've made lifelong friends, learned how to defend myself, become fitter, competed, and had a lot of fun along the way. I can't think of a better way to spend my evenings. The gym is a great training environment. Coach AP and the other coaches are great teachers and will take the time to help you when you need it. The people who train here are also super friendly. Everyone's here to train, have fun, and improve their skills. Can't recommend this place enough and won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
Oulah Zakaria: I have been at Team Perosh for 3 years now and it has completely transformed my life. The lessons I have learnt and the great and friendly people I have met have been life changing. It is a very spacious and diverse environment where everyone helps each other become better and reach their goals. It is a fantastic gym with one of a kind Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing coaching. Definitely the best in all of Australia.I would recommend Team Perosh to anyone who wants to get fit, learn martial arts, meet new people and become a part of a supportive and positive community.
Johnny Di Biase: When I started training BJJ and Muay Thai Kickboxing here I didn't really know what to expect! But the amazing coaches made me feel welcomed and were always there to answer my questions. The facilities are amazing and super clean! It makes me feel good knowing that Anthony Perosh takes pride in his gym. It really shows in the way all his staff and coaches carry themselves.Absolutely love it here, would 110% recommend!
L l: Was exited to start training for the first time only to be put down and was standing there for about 5 minutes, people training others talking ,laughing, no one came to assist me, just left and as i was leaving someone was laughing loudly i felt like it was for me, so looked back and notice they were staring at me,, is this how mma gyms are? Im new at this but wont be going again. Ive been through enough bullying in my life.
Flavio Flaccin: My experience so far has been great. They run lots of classes, and have morning and evening options which is good for people who have flexible work arrangements. It is a respectful and supportive space, clean facilities and parking options.

Zenbu Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: what do users think?
Jenny Mac: Just wanted to say thank you to the Zenbu team, my son Max has been attending the Tiny Tots class for the last month or so and has learned so much. He talks to his friends and family about what he did in class and shows off his moves, haha. David is such a great coach, I'm always so impressed how patient and understanding he is with the kids. He knows how to be clear and firm but he's also lots of fun and has a laugh with them. Thanks for everything, we hope to come back again in the near future.
Olympus Guitars: The best judo club down under! All the coaches and the program are in high level judo.

Tim Bonett: I've been training at Zenbu since 2015. Novice, intermediate, national and international Judo competitors train here. Experienced and technical coaches.
