The London Hotel: what do users think?
Rebecca Wood: Charming venue. However, we were standing waiting around for service, placed at a terrible table right near a walkway despite booking far in advance, spoken to rudely by staff when trying to order food despite not knowing the kitchen opens at 5pm (our booking was at 4:45pm), had staff almost run into us walking passed us and had a drink taken away when it wasn't even finished. On top of this, the food was essentially a frozen meal, Coles sausages averagely cooked and chucked down onto our table. We were really looking forward to coming here after all of the reviews. Please fix your customer service.
Arabella Stanley: Best pub in Sydney ♥️♥️♥️ 🏽 🏽 🏽Great vibe, delicious food, lovely staff and a great community energy!Recommended dishes Thursday Steak Special …More
Ted Hodge: The London has really rested on their laurels. The place is in dire need of a decent manager who actually cares about hospitality. I’ve been several times over the past year and every time it’s been substandard. The first time they forgot our booking. The second time the food (steak) was tough and low quality. Topped up by the fact there was no alcoholic ginger beer available which practically every pub has now. Time for a refresh I’d say!
Rory Kennedy: The best atmosphere of any pub in paddington offering great food and drink. Perfect for pre/post game drinks before a short stroll to Moore Park and the staff are all very friendly. Definitely recommend.
Indie Stewart: Frozen pizza … what a stitch up
Jeremy Hartcher: Staff nice, wine good but THE WORST burger in sydney … ‘wagyu beef burger’ overcooked and spent the meal picking out gristle and all sorts of non minced items. Awful.Almost forgot to mention - $24 too… so it’s not as though they prepare you for a shocker
rebeccah mahne: I recently had the pleasure of visiting The London and I must say, the experience was made even better by the fantastic service provided by the blonde curly haired moustached young man behind the bar. From the moment we walked in, he greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. What impressed me the most about this young man was his ability to multitask and still provide excellent service to all the patrons at the bar. Despite being busy, he never let his energy or enthusiasm drop, and it was clear that he genuinely enjoys his job.Overall, we had a great time at The London, and a big part of that was thanks to the outstanding service provided by this young man. I highly recommend him and The London to anyone looking for a fantastic bar experience and their Sunday roast was excellent too.
Albert Gardner: Good pub food
Andrea Rac: Great food
Gordon Drage: Great little, historic pub with good food and drink deals.
Brian Daly: Highly recommended
Nick Peters: Good food, good vibes. Love it
Adrian Andreacchio: Whoops. Thought I was reviewing the London Hotel in Balmain, which is a classic worthy of 5-stars. Needed to edit this. I expected better from the London in Paddington. The pizzas were really disappointing, after a mate recommended them. Said they used to be great years ago. Not sure what happened. Plenty of five-heads to go around, but that comes with the territory.
walter drew: Spicy Scorpion Pizza was very good. My friends got the Chicken Snitzel which they also enjoyed.
Kevin Wood: Good place to go
Blake: Ambitiously priced, uninspired pub grub.Calamari (6/10): Well cooked and nicely flavoured by the mint, garlic and chilli however it came out cold. The sauce was so bland I couldn't tell what's in it.Chicken Parmigiana (6.5/10): Off to a bad start before I picked up my fork as it could have used some garnish for presentation as you can see from the photo. Decent parmi but the napolitana sauce lacked flavour. Chips and salad were nice.Overall underwhelming dishes which weren't worth the price.
Ahmad Awarki: Not bad.
N C: Nov 2022: Still a decent local pub, but gee the food has gone downhill in last couple of years. In last month have had a chicken Parma and a steak. Both were bad. Soggy small schnitzel with average chips and a very generic salad. The steak was even worse - chewy dry mess. I have faith they can turn it around though - used to be better.
Troy S: Best place in paddock or elsewhere for a delicious steak on Thursdays recommend the mushroom sauce #1
Roy Buchanan: Terrible, expensive food.
Richard: The main bar is very good, great atmosphere. Food is tasty

The Hero of Waterloo Hotel: what do users think?
jake burns: Was charged $30 for an order of four soda waters. Avoid at all costs
Julian Young: Bangers and mash were delicious 😋Food: 5/4|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/4Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Paid street parking …More
Mike Thurley: One of the best places in Sydney to enjoy a good pint of Guinness!Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/4Recommended dishes Int of Beer …More
Jonathan Guy: Great "old school" pub. Love the atmosphere and history of Hero of Waterloo. Great number of taps and beers. Food is good too.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Yoni Krispel: Great atmosphere, great music, good selection of food and a pleasant clientele. Drinks are a bit meh. Plenty of beer and wine, cocktails fall short. Paid 20 bucks for a sub par old fashioned. Felt a bit ripped off but would return to try more food.Food: 5/4|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Chips …More
Mark Jordan: Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Bryan Camilleri: Ripper pub,one of only three oldest pubs in Sydney, confusing right.
Neil Cormack: Always awesome!! My favourite pub in Australia!!
Jessica Miller: Seemed a local hang out, I liked that. The bartender was funny and friendly. Glad i stopped in for a pint
Banjo Buster: Amazing Staff, and should visit again for the history. The licensee gets on my nerves though as a customer, she seems too controlling of the staff even though they know and more than her especially!!! Overall though amazing pub wish to come back someday.
Helen Ashton: Brilliant little pub! Fantastic menu with great food. The whiskey steak is to die for! Highly recommend
angela smith: Lovely staff and beer, but would steer clear of the $17.50 truffle fries. Not the best value for money. Was more than a little shocked at what was presented!
DYLX2100: It's good
Andrew Thompson: Awesome experience
Rodney Ulyate: Excellent facilities for a talk I gave upstairs. The live music downstairs sounded decent, too.
Damian Turner: Best pub in Sydney
Warren Hunt: Bloody brilliant place.
Paul Brennan: A great pub, friendly staff, great music. A beautiful place to spend Anzac Day.
Linda Kraiko: Great Pub Experience
Jamie Murrell: Food was decidedly average. Steak was over cooked and resembled roast beef more than a steak. The kids burger was dense and salty, clearly very processed.
Damien Mullins: Great food and excellent service

Keg & Brew: what do users think?
Ivano: I went there for a 30th on the roof. The music was somewhat loud, but the night was saved by the food, the view, the crowd and the full moon!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
A H: Well the 🥩 was just perfect (or I was starving 🤷🏽‍♂️) 😄 !! Loved the place, loved the food, loved the service. Will be back surely.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
David Klutz: Generous food portions! Will comeback
Allison Cairncross: Food: 5/4|Service: 5/4|Atmosphere: 5/4More
Rob Laws: Had lunch up on the rooftop. Nice way to end an afternoon
Neil Lamming: Nice pub. Top floor is great, open air and spacious. Good beer selection.
Dan McLean: You walk in the front door and it feels like a bit of a normal pub, maybe full of "old mates".Every floor you go up the nicer it gets.Top floor is a lovely rooftop bar.Food is great, great menu including wood fired pizza. Dining rooms are what you'd expect. It's a place of mixed charms, old school pub on ground level, awesome rooftop bar. It's a favourite for work lunches or after work drinks.
Shannon Distler: Great aesthetic & vibe, I would have stayed longer if not for auditory overwhelm (I'm Neurodivergent)
Lara Low: Great new fit out. Each level has a different vibe. Still keeping the excellent beer selection downstairs with a great pizza bar on the rooftop.
Emily M: Amazing food tonight on level 2, pretty quiet, watching footy and loving our great food, however the staff member who came over to clear whilst we were still eating took our plates even when we said we were still eating AND just took my drink before I had finished drinking 😂 Really awkward moment and a dampener on the night. We get it sometimes you're in a bad mood but don't take it out on the customer? The other staff behind the bar were lovely, hospitable and we were really happy otherwise.
Mark Maclean: Basic front bar downstairs. Two levels above we’re closed when we were there. Top level rooftop bar was nice, but limited beer options. Food was good.
Brett Dickinson: pizza and steaks were good, but the starters, salmon, spring rolls, squid were absolutely shocking. Ordered around $500 of food for my team. And the starters were all left. Tasted like frozen food that had been heated. And for the price tag.. absolutely shocking. When I spoke to the manager when paying (no one bother to ask if everything was okay whilst we were eating) he couldn't have cared less... and said "next time of there is an issue, you should say right away"... umm righto mate. I think when the extremely rude waitress cleared the table that had half the food uneaten she might have thought to ask.. but fair enough. Won't be back. Shocking rude waitress. Shocking starters. Shame as the drinks, steaks and pizza were good. Wouldn't recommend this place due to the service and experience with the staff despite the food.
Nicole: not bad
Zyler Aicardi: Really good Sunday roast but felt that the service could be a bit better for the rooftop. Staff on ground floor were really lovely.
Phil C: Participated in ANZAC day festivities to commence the day. Was excellent.
James Hayes: What a terrible experience.Had lunch at this venue on sunday with my wife.Bit of debacle ordered drinks. When it came time to order food i ordered the 150g steak for $34 dollars. The barman asked how i wanted it cooked and if i wanted chips and salad or vegies. I said medium rare and chips and salad. When i got the bill i noticed that they'd charged me and extra $10 for. I did query this with the upstairs bar staff, one of them rolled his eyes, the other mocked my hearing (yes i have a partial deafness, sorry about that). Ok great..Not really that into being mocked by bar staff so decided to move down to the bottom level. The food comes, my steak and chips very very average, and even at 150grams i didn't bother finishing it.My wife's beef roast was terrible, and the meat was inedible. She's pretty certain it wasn' the first or even the second time that beef was cooked that day.She hardly touched the meal.A female staff member on the bottom level (who was lovely btw) eventually came and cleared our almost full plates. She asked why we'd hardly touched our meals and we explained. She said 'thats not good at all, i'll go and speak with the manager'. I told her that wasn't necessary. She said that she was still going to alert the manager as this 'wasn't good enough'.She came back fifteen minutes later and said 'bobby the manger is too busy and doesn't want to speak you'.We'd not asked to speak to the manager, but could to know Bobby really couldn't be bothered dealing with customers on a Sunday.Between the sneaky pricing, the inedible food, the barman mocking my hearing, and the lazy manager who didn't want to get up from his nap, I'd really give this place a pass.We did pop up the the Forresters afterwards. Not cheap either but food and drink fantastic and the staff actually smile at you. Worth a look in.
Carlos Londono: The perfect place for after work drinks and to catch up with friends. The pizzas are amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful.
Glenn Mullaney: A GREAT gathering of OLD Matured Reds, RCAE College Rugby Team on the Roof Top Bar! Champion service, drinks and Pizza.
Liam Stanwell: $18 of wedges
Chris Stephens: Good trivia host. Pizzas also good. Very good chips and really really good calamari. Nice atmosphere. Had a really good evening there, I've even overused the word good. Let's use great instead.
Pranav Nayak: A mostly very good experience but ended on a little bit of a sour note when one of our mates was kicked out for "looking drunk". He'd had 2 beers the entire night. Either way it didn't make sense for them to do that on a Friday night before midnight

The Duck Inn Pub & Kitchen: what do users think?
MASTERS: I can here for the first time and it was awesome! Service was amazing everyone was all so nice and the food was great as well!Food: 5/3|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/4Recommended dishes Beef Burger …More
Bar Peretz: Great pub with high quality food and a good selection of craft beers, wines and spirits. Really good value, especially the weekday lunch special. And they’ve got the best staff!
Richard Davies: Food was nice but there was no atmosphere, as the place was virtually empty on a Saturday night (6 May 23)
Julie Bennett: Atmospheric pub and FANTASTIC food!
Ben Cullen: Dog friendly, beer garden, great food and service. Coupla local inner west brews on, and a great Sunday roast!
Builtwithplants Channel: Nice cosy pub with a great beer selection. Wines and spirits good too. Food was nice and well priced
lee rushworth: Great food and staff
Mohammad Elteibi: Good location near University of Sydney and Notre Dame. Good selection of beers and an outside area out the back too.Great place to catch up with friends.
Lee Gesmundo: going to see a show at the Seymour Centre and needed a feed before we started a night on the grog.I googled pubs in the vacinity and came across, what looked to be, a quaint neighbourhood pub - aptly named as we just wanted a cheap and quick meal... Unfortunately the idea of "ducking in" for a quick meal would soon become very ironic. We arrived at 7pm, ordered our meals within 10 minutes of arrival - the staff asked if we were seeing a show and we confirmed we had to leave by 8:20pm.The menu online is unfortunately different to what is on offer, being vegan I often like to plan ahead, the ordering process only became more challenging when the staff insisted that VG meant vegetarian and V meant vegan (this is certainly not the case at many restaurants I've visited
Rodney S: Worst pub ever. Ordered meals just after 7pm for a group of 5 and made sure to tell the wait staff we had an 8:30pm show at the nearby theatre. 45 minutes later 2 meals arrived, by 8:15pm 3 of our group were still without food. Wait staff couldn't have cared less. One even tried to bargain with us to take a fish and chips instead of a steak just as we're having to cancel the orders to leave for the theatre. 3 friends left hungry. Disorganised and overall very unpleasant experience. Avoid.
Conor Whiting: Food was pretty average. Beer selection was limited and quite boring
Samuel Sida: This is a great pub with an outdoor area and a very nice you know weststyle but good food and a good selection of beers.
Casey Tonkin: Wildly understaffed themselves on Jan 26 public holiday, charged 15% surcharge, then took 90min to get most of our food out (we ended up leaving before the last of it arrived). Clearly tried hard but disappointing nonetheless.
Bek M: We went here last minute for a group dinner on a Tuesday night. They accommodated us right away and service was great. The food was really good - 6 different meals and no complaints. Lovely place to sit, very family friendly and the girls on service couldn’t do enough to help. We will be back 😊
Zac Ruokari: Unfortunately it seems like new owners have not only ruined the vibe of the place, but it's very obvious they've employed staff who have never worked in hospitality before. Shame. Loved this pub.
Pat Norman: Haven’t been in many years and visited yesterday, very different place to how it used to be. The food is fine, but not the kind of glorious victuals of old. Chips aren’t salty enough and feel a little bit supermarket. The steak is passé. The atmosphere is so different to the old days: I realise I shouldn’t rate a place based on what it once was, but it was once my favourite pub in Sydney and a lot of the magic is gone, replaced by plastic awning and tightly packed tables. The staff are really friendly, which is nice. I think with a stronger menu, greater variety, and better food it could be something different and new. But for now, you’re probably better off walking to The Rose.
Ben Warrington: Booked 3 weeks out for a group of 7 and the pub emails me 3 days before the event and tells me they are fully booked out, they dont even give me an option to change the time or accommodate me in anyway, I will never go back to this Pub and will never recommend it to any of my friends or family, infact I will go out of my way to tell people this story.
Ian Hird: Very disappointing experience in all levels …So many nice memories of meals here and esp when heading on to Seymour Centre for a show … but our latest exp will be our lastBooking via the app accepted then cancelled by email without explanation … phone call revealed the app accepted booking when there was no availability. Told we could have a tabled booked in the Beer Harden. Arrived to realize that Beer Harden was free seating and we had no booking. General confusion and chaos by bar/reception staff… we were finally offered a table … menu is very limited compared to the ‘good old days’ (has there been a change of owner … or post Covid calamity?) and the food very ordinary. Duck confit not recognizable as such … and Duck Inn chicken salad swamped by tart mustard sauceFor the price paid there is better value locally … and sadly, too many memories of past meals enjoyed here to entice us back
Darren Bridger: Menu is limited with few dishes
Tanya Evans: Good atmosphere, terrible and overpriced food. My partner's nachos were stone cold and my steak was average at best. Will not return.
Sue Krajnik: Love this place. Jay and the team are amazing. Had my birthday celebrations here and the food and service were excellent. My friends loved it. Best of all. They are dog friendly
