Hamish Leahy: Terrible company- avoid their umbrellasSpent over $2000 on an umbrella and it had a problem with handle meaning I could not put it down. Then over 20 calls to their matinanace and got no call back, emails and speaking to a manager at sales. Still Nothing happened. Avoid at all costs. I do not right reviews but am so fuatrated that an expensive umbrella is now ruined.

michael van der westhuizen: An umbrella that I purchased from Shelta has had a bolt come loose that connects the pole of the umbrella to the top base. Unaware to me that this bolt had come loose the bolt unscrewed itself on the beach and the umbrella came apart. The bolt could not be located and I contacted Shelta by phone (parts division) and by email to get a quote for a new bolt. Promises from the parts devision were made to get back to me but this did not happen and I got no corespondents from emails either.
Michael Perdices: Our experiences with Shelta after-sales service have been superb. We recently purchased a Shelta Windemere garden umbrella, which incorporates LED light ribs under the canopy. The quality of the umbrella is first-class and we highly recommend this model. The umbrella was, unfortunately, delivered with a mast footing unsuitable for installation on a ground base plate and a malfunctioning powerpack. Rather than deal with the shop where we purchased the umbrella, we contacted Shelta Australia directly. This was a great decision. Bronwyn, Senior Manager Sales and Customer Experience, dealt with our concerns attentively, was extremely helpful, and went the extra mile to the extent that she personally delivered the correct mast footing to our home. Thank you, Bronwyn, for providing superb after-sales service and the most excellent customer experience.
Anne H: Shelta has always been a great company to deal with via their stockist in Alexandria - Wild Reeds. Both businesses really look after their customers. The lady at Wild Reeds sells outdoor furniture and goes out of her way to be helpful - including arranging a repair with Shelta for a broken umbrella which was my fault (left up on a windy day)!

Patrick Morrow: John worked quickly and carefully to get my broken set of electric hair clippers back in working order free of charge.When I broke the clippers I inherited from my grandfather, I struggled to find a place that could repair them. It's a strange thing to get attached to, but after more than a decade of his careful maintenance and repair, I was really upset at the idea of throwing them away.The Repair Café operates on the first and second Sunday of every month (electrics are on the second Sunday), and their mission is to keep things in use that might otherwise be thrown away free of charge. Today, a team of four guys working downstairs were bringing toasters, lamps, clippers, and other gadgets back to life. It's a wonder to watch and a really generous community initiative that meets a clear need.The booking system is a series of half-hour slots, managed in person and on paper. So if you need something repaired on the same day, it's safest to arrive early to secure a slot.
Ian Wills: Fantastic service and free! All done by volunteers but they accept donations to cover costs. They repair clothes, jewellery, luggage, household appliances, nicknacks, toys and sharpen knives and garden tools. Basically anything you can carry in. Open 2-4 first and second Sundays in month. There is also free coffee and nibbles while you wait.Two downsides: it can be very busy with long waits and some things are made not to be fixed so no guarantees.

But now it looks brand new, missing bits re-woven, teeth marks and scratches have disappeared, seat webbing re-done, and lacquered to look brand new again. I’m thrilled with how it’s turned out! And such great communication and friendly service from a family business too. Highly recommend!

Kuro Samurai: Friendly and helpful staff. But I heard they are closing the Sydney store soon?? It would be a shame if they really close the shop.
Robert Schafer: Do not believe their warranty ... It has now been 6 months to get a wheel replaced on my Wellington Heist. I have spent well $5,000 on their brand for full sets of travel luggage (his and her) and other bags as gifts for overseas family. You would expect that they keep their word. Over the last 3 months no response to emails or information on what is happening to my bag. Now hers has the same issue of a broken wheel!!!! The brand has gone down the tube since its takeover. Shame on you!!!

Benjamin See: Looking for a new commuter backpack. Came into the store to decide between a few options. The staff were talking to themselves about their weekend despite seeing me walk in. There was a family that was of ESL background that were self helping. A little disappointed that there wasn't a remote attempt at providing customer service even after 10-15 minutes. A Timbuk2 or Aer backpack it is.
Stephanie Takeuchi: I'm giving 5 stars because I have had the same Crumpler bag for easily 5 years now and the only issue was the zips, which the tips broke off of due to wear and tear and me washing my bag. The staff at Crumpler were kind enough to take off the broken zipper tips and replace them with a strong upcycled string material, which they tied into cool looking spider knots onto each of the zips. So now my bag has a face-lift and I can continue to use it for years to come! Thank you😊

I was ignored for 10 minutes before being served, and then when I was served the staff member was distracted and kept moving boxes etc around without really acknowledging me. He was very uninterested and it wasn't a pleasant experience.I had also come in a few nights earlier and a different staff member was there. He just remained on his phone the whole time and completely ignored me.I hope the bag is better than the service!

However, when I tried to get my bag repaired, they left it at the back of their storeroom for 2 months and forgot about it. It has now been 4 months and they continue to be bad with email replies and continue to delay returning my bag. I will be taking this further.
Etsundry: Jack at Crumpler Galleries was super patient and helpful, despite being really indecisive, I was given sufficient time and information to form a happy conclusion, loving my new messenger bag!Basically, Jack helped me move my personal belongings from one bag to another and another etc, to see how they fit in the messenger bags, and the experience couldn’t have been better, the store was super busy and somehow Jack managed to keep everyone happy without leaving customers feeling like they’ve been hastily dealt with.
Michael Chen: I was a bit unsure of what to expect out of a backpack. The staff were friendly and very helpful especially a guy called Hugh, who went out of his way to find the perfect bag for me. I got the Mantra Pro Backpack in Nightsky. Very satisfied. Highly recommend the guys at crumpler for a bag that is tailored towards YOU!
Hugh McIntyre: Crumpler is a fascinating Australian company with a rich heritage. 25 years old this year, their Sydney flagship store at the Galeries nods to their Melbourne beginnings with brick walls and scaffold like fixtures. The bags are both functionally and form focussed, featuring simplistic and simple design packed with specific features for travel, work or causal use. Crumpler always updates their ranges with pops of colour which seem to always be changing! Staff are fantastic and always willing to help find the best solutions.

Jan Vaughan: Crumpler’s selection these days is unfortunately quite sad. The founders left in 2011 and 2014. Once upon a time there was a clear stylistic theme across a small number of lines. Within, you could find the perfect bag thanks to a slew of size variants and colours spanning subtle to funky. Today it’s a mish mash of models. You might find a bag which works for you, but it’s hard to imagine the brand recovering from here.
